Can anyone help me re:blood levels

Post by gem »

Hi I havent posted on this side yet as I wanted to get today over with, but as always this IVF lark doesnt go smoothly,so I was wondering if anyone could help us-please....
We gor our long for positive on tuesday after 4 treatments we were so happy but scared for today but as the weeks gone on we've been more confident,on Tuesday my levels were 112 which I was told was good as anything over 50 is classed as a positive, but my levels are 773 today and they like them to be 1000 on day 21 so I have to go back on thursday for another blood test we are so scared we might lose this god that was so hard to write, could anyone tell me if they had these sorts of levels and they went on to rise and had a healthy pregnancy,we are in limbo now fro 2 days we were so happy but now we dont know whet to think,I havent got any af pains or bleeding,my nipples are tender and my boobs are veiny but I havent had any sickness but because I'm not 5 weeks yet I thought it was too early to get sickness so I wasnt worried, but now I am and my acupunist tole me not to get stressed thats good after today.
I was due to go back to work tomorrow after having time off for the treatment so now I dont know what to do.
Hope some one can help us
Thanks Love Gemxxx

Poor you - you have been through so much recently and after your stint in hospital I reckon you have a little fighter in there. HCG levels can be dangerous.......... infact all the early info we get can be counter-productive I think. Most normal pg's to use that dratted word do not have HCG levels at all and no scan until they are 12 wks. These HCG's are a baseline - if they are falling then there is a problem clearly - yours are rising but I understand what you are worrying about - I would be the same! IT is a bit like how big you are supposed to be etc - we all do these blooming comparisons. You had a good reading for your 112 but what nobody knows is what day this really was for you - we all know when they go back in but some take immediately and some float around having a think about if they are going to implant or not and that can mean 4 days difference and therefore differing HCG. It seems to me you have the other symptoms - it is too early for sickness yet - even in multiples - trust me! You have other symptoms. I think and of course hope that all will be fine with your HCG on Thursday. RE work - you will do no harm on going back and maybe take your mind off it but all is quiet this week and I reckon you should look after number one and take the two days off and rest and look after yourself.
good luck and let us know how you go but I am feeling confident we will see you over here for good
Love
Tracey

I agree - your levels were good and I was told they like them to almost double every couple of days, which from what I can work out, they have. Rising levels are what you need, and that's what you have!

Don't worry about symptons - I had none right the way through - everyone is different, and every pregnancy is different.

Try and relax a little - I know it's hard. Take care and I wish you all the very best.
