I am nine weeks pregnant and 2 nights ago noticed vdark brown spots in my pants. Then nothing at all yesterday, slight cramps on and off last night and then a water red, now very slight brown again. I am worried sick. Just spoken to midwife who said try and stay positive as many women experience this, around the time period due, a hormonal thing, but how can i not worry? The pains have gone, and when i wipe, its very faint light brown. I am off work, resting. Suppose thats all I can do???
Any one else had this. Need positive thoughts, as expecting miscarriage to occur.
They wont scan me until next thurs, as they said not worth scanning now, as everything may look ok, but then change.
There is no point in me saying don;t worry as I am a nightmare for it. It seems to me that it is your hormones on this occasion -some of the others had this all along around AF time. AS it is brown sounds like old blood - so hopefully all alright - you are not losing clots or anything are you?
Try and think positively and just put your foot down if you feel you need a scan before thurday.
Fingers crossed
Love
Tracey

Hi Karen,
Your doing al the right things, resting and having spoken to midwife. And a Tracey said your bound to be worried - in this game we swap one set of worries for another!
I had a slight spotting at about 9 weeks and lik you felt sick to the stomach - i think after all we go through we just expect te worst! But there's lots of us who ahve bleeds and go on ok - I'm now 37 weeks! So try to stay postitive and demand another scan if you feel you need onebefore nxt week!!
Take care,
Di
Oh poor you, you sound so worried which is only natural at this stage. Brown blood is old blood like Tracey said which should be OK. I had a massive bleed with bright red blood clots and all at 7 weeks and the baby was fine. It is such a worrying time and you must try to stay calm. There is not much else you can do which is so hard, I know.
Keeping fingers crossed. Let us know how you get on. Have you thought to go to your EPU for a scan just for your own piece of mind. Tell a white lie - I won't tell anyone!

Karen....you poor thing. It's one worry after another isn't it. I think you should take heart from the fact that it's old blood, and that loads of women on here seem to have had something like this but then gone on to have a healthy baby.
Good luck.

ttc for almost 4 years, diagnosed as unexplained. Just about to begin treatment when we were lucky enough to concieve naturally. Our beautiful baby boy, Daniel, was born on 27 Sept 2003. Now expecting again, baby due 22 Aug 2005.
Karen, you poor thing the worry just never stops. I had some brown staining at around 4 weeks after transfer and everything was fine i am now 26wks but you have done the right thing and checked with the midwife. If you get really worried i would phone again and demand a scan or pay private. pain is commom is pregnancy and i think we have all had some and i know us saying this may help but you feel better (i know it did for me) but the worrying never stops.
Take it easy

karen, sorry to hear u are having such a worrying time, i can totally
understand how it must be doing your head in, but having been glued
to this site since i started posting last year, there has been lots of
girls who have had similar brown bleeding, also if u read in the
pregnancy books it can happen, u have done the right thing in
speaking with the midwife and resting, but like some of the girls
have said if u are going to get yourself totally stressed out why
dont u go along to one of the EPU just to put your mind at rest.
try and keep strong alisonnx
