Questions for Ghost and Everyone who is willing to advice

Hello Everyone...
Just a short Intro about me...I am 28yrs old,My DH is 33( perfect)..I started my lupron(20) march 23rd,since day 1st I was responding slow to IVf medicine,that why it took so long for me to start Follistim..that I started on April 23rd.I took HCG shot on April 29th and had Egg Ret on May 1st...They retrieved 10 eggs.all of them Fertilized..I had a 4 day transfer on May 5th..they Transfered 2 Compact Eb...remaining 8 were frozen for future use...I am due for Beta on Tuesday May 18th...Now my question is I did HPT this morning around 7:30 and it came Negative....I am little worried...My hubby is saying that everything with me is so slow that why I dint get it positive,may be after 2 days when I go for Blood test,by that time it will be positive...any suggestion Friends...I feel so upset....

After ET till now,I had all the symptoms which includes Cramping,Breast soreness,Fatigue also for past 5 days I feel Dizzy/drowsiness all the time...never had spotting or bleeding after ET....still confused???

Kajol – Your symptoms are always a good sign! According to the embryo implantation chart, you should have just started to produce enough HCG to be detected on a HPT. So your HCG levels might not be high enough yet. Try testing again tomorrow. Your DH is right, you could have implanted a little later. Please keep your positive thinking because I have heard of plenty of women who tested negative the day of their beta and their beta was still positive.

What type of HPT did you use? Of course, you want the most sensitive test that you can purchase at the pharmacy. I think the First Response Early Pregnancy Test is one of the more sensitive tests, which now test 6 days prior to a missed period. I thought I read it has a sensitivity somewhere between 6.5 & 12.5 mIU/ml.

Angela- Thankyou so much dear, I feel much better after your reply ...I did use First Response test kit...Now I guess,I shud wait for Tuesday noon for my Beta...

I have the same issue. I had my ET on May 5th also. I did a HPT on Friday morning because I was so anxious. I have had the same symptoms of breast tenderness and fatigue which I've never had before. I went to my acupuncturist on yesterday and he said that it was too early and that it may not show on HPT until Monday or later. It did make me feel better, but I am still a little worried. I go for my beta tomorrow morning. I will probably test before I go just to prepare myself.

Try to stay calm and just wait to see what the real test says. After all, we've done everything we possibly can. It's not really up to us now.

Nicliz- Well I have heard the same also they say if u take hpt on 11 day post transfer,it wont show u actual result( in some cases)...I am praying for u both...show us BFP...I will post my results by Tuesday nite or Wednesday morning....

Good for you that you haven't tested. I can't wait to hear the results!! Good luck. I'm dying for my 1st U/S on next Monday!!

Karin – I am so very sorry about your BFN. Maybe you should sit down w/ your RE to maybe figure why this cycle didn’t work for you before you decide what to do.

Karin- Oh Girl,I am so sorry ,we were expecting BFP..Angela is right,U shud sit with ur RE and discuss with him,What went wrong...R u planning to do FET soon....Wish u all the best luck for Future...Mine is due Today,I have strange feeling too...since its my 1st IVF,cant expect much but yeah I am positive....will get my results by this eve....

I am not sure what we will do next. I am so frustrated and sad. I am 38 and we have been trying for a year. I have had 2 cancelled cycles and 3 IUI and now a failed IVF. Plus...a cyst on my ovaries and a polyp on my uterus. It has been so hard for me especially since I am needle phobic. My RE said to call him when I start my period and we would talk about our next steps. I don't have any embryos frozen. We only had 2 and we transferred 2. We will be starting over again. I don't know if he will want me to take a cycle off before we try IVF again or what? I'm actually afraid to try it again. The disappointment is so overwhelming when you do so much and your hopes are so high.

Its negative...Since it was my 1st IVF/IUI attempt ,you can not expect much...I had some doubts,but my hubby was so positive...now he is so upset...my next appointment is May 25th...I guess we will go fro FET..Still have 8 Frozen embryos left...I guess i made some mistakes during fresh cycle transfer..the main thing is I dint take any kind of rest even right after the transfer.....I shud have taken atleast 2-3 days Complete rest....now we both r feeling bad about that...anyways I will not repeat any kind of mistake during my FET....wish me luck for that...

Karin- I have a question for u...as u said u have Polyps n cyst,how come ur cud RE start ur IVF without treating them..I also had polyps,but my RE did a surgery right before my IVf,coz Polyps also cause Infertility...U shud check with ur RE,if its possible for him toh remove them before ur next IVF cycle...

I'm sorry to hear that. And I'm sorry I did not post earlier.

I did not chime in earlier on this thread because I wanted to make an encouraging post. Your first two posts told me the odds were against a pregnancy, but I could not just say that. 11 days after a day 4 transfer is usually long enough to see a positive HPT if a pregnancy occurred.

The symptoms you mentioned, sore breasts and such, are related to progesterone. Pregnant women have those symptoms because they have elevated progesterone. Women undergoing IVF almost always receive progesterone supplements, so they have those symptoms whether or not there is a pregnancy.
