Can anyone recommend what to do after the transfer as far as activity? I have requested the day after off of work, but should i refrain from moving around too much? anyone have advice on what helped them achieve a BFP or does it even matter?
you will get a million different replies on this question. some say bedrest for 3 days, some say return to normal activities but take it easy. No lifting over 10 pounds. IMHO do what you feel most comfortable with and won't have any regrets. if this cycle doesn't work, will you blame it on whatever you did post transfer?
To_have_fun08 is right about getting all kinds of responses. My RE said FIVE days of bedrest, which is extreme. I did take 5 days for the most part, but by the 4th and 5th day I did do minimal, very minimal activity. For instance, we went to visit my mother-in-law for Christmas, but I literally just sat on the couch and didn't lift heavy things. Who knows if that's what helped, but my RE said in the end if it doesn't work, you don't want to have regrets about doing too much activity early on. My advice would be to just go with what your RE says. Trust him/her with their advice. Every RE is different. Good luck!!

I have a very conservative doctor that just did my transfer- so I do stand by these directions- as he has a good success rate, low miscarriage rate, and it worked on me. (I'm anxiously awaiting the ultrasound to see how many took- i'm thinking they both did)
Strict bedrest, with your knees elevated for 3 days post transfer. You should not use your tummy muscles, even to lift your head (which makes getting up to go potty an interesting and sometimes amuzing task). This is not fun, and not easy, but you spent a lot of money on this, so make it happen.
After those 3 days, these recommendations to follow go until you have a positive pregnancy test and continue (to avoid miscarriage) until your 1st ultrasound.
1. No sex- no pelvic pressure, no tampons etc.
2. No vacuuming or laundry- as well as no scrubing floors- you use your tummy muscles too much during these activities
3. No exercise or walking uphill
4. No 'heavy' lifting. This includes grocery bags!
Dr. Kustin, in Bellevue Washington- you can look up his credentials and website. But he's pretty good, and folks come from other countries to be his patient. So though it's sort of a pain, as they say "you paid a lot of money for this, so why not?"
I had a 6dt around noon. Bedrest the day of the procedure and the next day (literally got up to go to bathroom and that's it). The third day I did some shopping, no heavy lifting and was back at work by day 5. Got my first BFP today!!
Wishing you the best of luck,
Nicole
