I saw the doctor today for my Cycle Day 6 check. He said I have three follicles on the right and three on the left. He increased my Gonal F from 225 to 375. Is this a bad sign??

E Shepherd - I had 6 follies too, it only takes one so don't lose the PMA. Were they close in size? We have 3 mature and 3 fertilized and we had 3 good ones to transfer, so while it is great to have lots of follicles, it might mean that you don't have forsties but by no means is it a bad sign, a girl from another cycle had only one egg to fertilize and she got a BFP, so don't let numbers get you down at all, you still have a great chance!

PMA - Did you POAS? How is the spotting better? I will check the board later tonight for your post, I hope you are doing ok and not freaked out. It will be our BFP on Friday!

lisa - you are PUPO! I got my fingers and toes crossed for you!!!

dodo - I test Friday! Together with purple and PMA! It will be 3 for 3 Friday BFP special!!!! Cramping is normal, don't worry!

EShepard - I had my dosage increased twice, once they doubled it. It is not really a bad thing, it just means your body isn't responding quite like they want. 6 follies is great, hopefully they are all good quality. I am crossing my fingers for you!

rio - I am sorry about the bbq. It sounds like a really frustrating situation. I am sure your stepdaughter is trying to get attention (it doesn't make it right), but maybe if you figured out a way she could get more positive attention it might help. Also 12-15 is a really hard age for girls, hormones and everything that goes with it. I hope that that you guys can find a way to get through it.

dodo928 - good news on the transfer, lots of sticky thoughts your way! At least you can walk around by now!

PMA - I am sorry about the spotting, I am still holding out hope for you. I was actually thinking last night about testing, but I restrained myself. I am sending lots of prayers and good thoughts your way.

lisa - lots of warm thoughts for you. I had 3 failed IUI's before too and it is hard. IVF is a lot different though, so keep the hope and the positive thoughts.

bei - it sounds like things are progressing, keep us updated.

I have been having a grumpy day. I think the meds are making me a bit moody. I have been very negative about the IVF working today and have been feeling very self-pitiful. So I am trying to give myself a swift kick in the backside and think of all the wonderful things that I have in life.

bei: thanks for the update! grow follies grow!

Purple: hope you have a good sleep tonight and the bad day over soon!

EShepard: sorry, i'm using donor egg and don't know the dosage of gonal-f. what did your RE say?

Lisa: Congrats to PUPO! when is your beta?

afm, I just semi lift the bed rest curfew in the afternoon and took an hour walk as usual. My body and mind feel much better after the walk. DH still wants to keep the curfew until end of Monday and I can go back to my bed upstair tonight. But I will not be able to go down until tomorrow. It's one of the instructions from RE, i.e., either walk upstairs once or walk downstairs once during the bedrest. But definitely feel better and free than the last 2 days and definitely have no regret doing that!

good night and sweet dream!

Hey ladies, just a quick one. ET went OK, well at least they got 14 eggs and DH's testicular biopsy was good. Got to say though, that it has been the single most painful experience of my life! The cramping has been insane, it hurts to breath deeply and I think if I were to eat anything, I'd be seeing it again straight away. I can't bear to have anything touch me on the belly at all - no nickers on, no blankets over me unless I'm on my side. I never thought for a moment it would be so painful. I'd like to think I'm no chicken, but this really really has knocked me about. Will know fertilisation rate by tomorrow afternoon and they do the transfer on Sunday if all goes well. :D

PMApsy - hope all is OK sweetie. I'm sure it'll be fine. HUGS

Gotta go, can't keep typing.

Good morning ladies!

Well, sorry to disappoint so many of you girlies, but I did POAS, and I did get a BFN. And I still have my PMA. :D I woke up in the middle of the night because DS was coughing too much and had a stuffy nose, he couldn't fall asleep again. And right when I got up I felt that warm liquid soak my panties and drip along my thighs and in the dark I thought it was blood. Turns out it was...??? No idea, it was white, maybe from the progesterone inserts, I had never had something like that before. So you bet I POAS, in order to have at least a partial answer and find a bit of peace of mind. Now I know it's not twins, because multiples would have shown on a sensitive test like First response. But a singleton might not; it is indeed early, so my PMA is intact. And my peace of mind is back. Now I can wait until Thrusday or Friday morning to POAS again so DH can test with me, and then I'll go alone for the blood test on Friday afternoon.

I was tempted to feel sorry for myself a bit because I don't want to have a fresh cycle again, but I didn't even cry. At 3am I was rocking my son who was all curled up against me and I was thinking about how incredibly lucky I was to have him when some of you here have yet to meet your children. Plus, BFN or BFP, I have a new baby now, my catering service! :) So it took away all thoughts of complaining about my fate. And I still won't believe that, among those 3 nice-looking embies, no one was able to hatch and grow. You bet there is still hope. When I went to bed yesterday evening, I felt a hungry-MS type of nausea. I am more hungry than usual. I can express milk from my breasts even if I have stopped breastfeeding a while ago. I still have a sensitive sense of smell. So...

Oh, and the washed out spotting did stop by the time I was home. Might be an AF forewarning, or it might be anything. No trace of pink or brown since then. We'll see what happens...

Okay, enough about selfish little me!

Bei!
It's great that things are moving the way you want! :D I'm happy for you! Here's a bucket of baby dust for you!

dodo,
yes, cramping is normal, but you should definitely get up and walk around if you feel cramping in your legs. Strict bedrest puts you at serious risk of developing blood clots in your legs. The progesterone you're taking can cause cramps in your uterus, it's normal. That nasty thing will make you feel every single bit as you feel just before AF starts. It's a mind trick, don't fall into it! :)

lisa,
I'm sorry to hear that you felt so low, but happy that you're doing IVF with a positive mind! :D When will you test?

ES,
congrats on your plump little six-pack! I wouldn't worry about the meds increase if I were you. I'd much prefer my doctors to tweak and adjust the protocol to my body's response than to prescribe the same doses blindly to every patient in the clinic. That increase just means your doc is following your body, so rejoice! :D Any talk about when ER might be?

rio,
you are so sweet, thanks for checking on me so often! I'm so sorry, I was super busy in the evening and I didn't even have time to write an email. Sorry about that. I'll reply to your pm in a bit. You're an angel *HUGS*

purple,
hey grumpy-bumpy! :D Repeat after me, "It's not my fault, officer, it's the meds!!!!!" They do play with our mood and mind... I'm sorry that you had a bad day; if a kick in the butt is what it takes, than go ahead, but I,ll give you a big hug anyway! We all go through those times... Friday will be here before we know it! Hang in there sweetie!

kiz,
hey sweetie! WOW no wonder you're sore my dear, 14 eggies is a BIG reaping! LOL so you're a good hen too!!!! Your pain seems quite intense to me, though, I've never heard of someone who could not even wear her knickers after ER... have you told the clinic about this? Maybe it's just that your ovaries bled a little bit more than standard after the procedure and it irritates your peritoneum. That really hurts, it's like a bar of fire on your lower back. Do try the yoga pose sweetie, plus a hot water bottle, plus Tylenol EVERY FOUR HOURS NO MATTER WHAT, and do something that captures your attention a lot, like watching a good movie or reading a captivating book. It will take your attention away from the pain. I wish I was there to feed you some ice cream... you can be sure we'd find a way to make it stay in! :) How are you feeling today?

Carolyn,
Hey dear! LOL you thread crasher, you know it's always so good to see you! How are the twins doing? Still behaving during the night? Thanks for your encouragements sweetie, I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now!

Okay ladies, time to get some work done! Love,

Sophie xxox

Sophie - keep up the PMA - I sent you a PM! I have the discharge too. remember 3 for 3 Friday BFP special for you and purple and I!!!

kiz - I had a painful time last IVF too even though I didn't have that many follies. The pain was so severe that I had to take a Vicodin to be able to sleep. So I understand how sore you are, it does go away by ET and you will be much less sore. Try to take it easy and put some warm pads on your tummy. Congrats on so many eggs! I can't wait for the fert report!

dodo - glad you felt better after your walk! Cute that DH wants to keep you on the curfew, sweet!

bei - do you have an estimated ER yet?

purple - I have those days too but we have to keep telling ourselves that we are indeed Pregnant and we have not been proven otherwise (yes, PMA you weren't proven otherwise either!) sometimes I feel like I am already so blessed that I used up my IVF luck on our son, but that is not true and there is nothing that says we can't be blessed twice or 3 times in your case!! We will get our BFPs! Don't give in to the evil POAS HPT!

mcfarland - how are you doing sweetie? Did you spoil yourself a little bit? I hope you are feeling better, many hugs...

AFM - tomorrow is actually my first beta, it will be 9dpt but he won't tell me any results (nurse said he would call in unusual circumstances and I hope I am not one) so then I test again on Friday, 11 dpt and get the results... the wait is killing me. I had a dream that I got the results via fax! BFP! It is hard to keep a balance between hopeful but not too hopeful so the fall isn't too great from the BFP high hopes. I am worried because my DH is sick and I have been lifting up my 30 lb boy a lot. But I have no way of getting him up our stairs during a meltdown in the rain and other unavoidable situations. I hope I didn't mess up my BFP chances. But I remember what PMA said, so many women don't even know they are preggers and are lifting their toddlers, working out, running... I just don't want to blame myself for a BFN... BFP BFP BFP ok rio, think good thoughts!!!

Good Afternoon Ladies
I just started my injectables for my 2nd IVF cycle this past Saturday and was hoping you had room for one more ! I had three IUIs in 2009 that ended with BFN then had our first IVF cycle in March 2010 (18 eggs extracted 2 embies transferred in an 8 + 6) result BFP only to loose them a month later :( Total devastation. I contemplated holding off on the next attempt but ultimately decided that the right decision for me was to try again as soon as possible. So here I am.This time around I definitely need some support from people who are in similar situations. My family and friends all have children and none had any problems conceiving so as much as they try to be supportive they truly can't understand what this is like and I know that you ladies do. So any advice for this second IVF attempt?

Best wishes to all of us :D
Thanks

Welcome Kitty! We are all here to support you and the quest for your miracle! Are you doing a Frozen Transfer or fresh cycle? I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage hon, big hugs and you are a trooper for trying again so soon! my advice is the obvious keep a PMA. Are you planning on being more aggressive this time or still transfering 2? IVF is really hard, I see that you guys don't know the cause which is probably very frustrating. The positive side is you know what to expect from the meds and the whole procedure, it is very scary the first time. It is also important to stay very close to DH :) Baby dust!!!

Hi riogirl71
Thanks for your well wishes. We are doing another fresh cycle. Last time they got 18 eggs of those none were able to be frozen after fertilizing (fragments etc). So we shall do it again! As far as being more aggressive my RE has added two more meds (Menopure and Vivelle (sp) after ER). My RE wanted to transfer 3 (if they were available) this time but Im conflicted. At my last appointment he said that if we transferred 3 and they all took than I would have to think about Selective Reduction and that isnt an option for me. So I dont know what to do. We left it that if the eggs are high quality than we will do 2 if they are lower quality than 3. We'll see when it gets closer. My DH is awesome so sticking close isn't hard :P He just doesnt have to go throught the shots and procedures so I think at times its hard for hime to understand but he's still super supportive!

Where are you in your course of treatment? Are you coming up on a BETA soon? I hate to sound dumb but I'm not so good with a lot of the abbreviations what is PMA? How many did you transfer?

Thanks again its nice to have someone to chat with :)

Kitty - Sorry you didn't get any frosties, we were never able to get frosties. When I got pregnant with my son we transfered 4 embryos, a 5, 8, 8 and 10 cell embryos and we had one healthy boy. We were more aggressive because I was ok with having twins and the chance for triplets was low. This time we transfered 3 embryos 5, 7, 9 cells. Which are all of the ones that fertilized. We have our first beta tomorow and second on Friday and that is when I get my results, hopefully BFP! PMA mean Positive Mental Attitude which is so hard to keep sometimes during this difficult process. Menopur can sting quite a bit so be prepared. Someone said to let it sit for 10 min after mixing (I found out after I was done with it) and ice it good! I am glad you and DH are so close, it makes this easier. Will he be giving you the shots? Aslo the good news is that I heard that if you got pregnant before your body "remembers" it and it should make it easier to get pregnant again, so hopefully your body will do just that!

Rio-
How exciting big day tomorrow. I will keep you in my thoughts :) I remember the night before my first beta I couldnt sleep at all. I was so anxious. Hopefully you get some good rest and some GREAT news tomorrow.
You werent able to freeze any either? I was shocked when my RE told me that out of 18 we had none to freeze but - nothing I can do about that now. Started the Menopure 75u, Gonal-F 300, Lupron 5 cocktail on Saturday and I wish I knew how bad it was going to burn. Also having some severe bruising from it. Didn't have that last time. My DH gave me my first shot when we did our 1st IUI but he works nights so I had to do it myself although he was much better at it! Were you on the same meds? Hopefully my ER is around the 26th and i'll get good news on my wedding anniversary 6/9
Good Luck tomorrow......
