PA_FA - I had no idea they could "mature" eggs in the lab. I am glad to know that there continues to be medical advancements in this area.

Rio - I can't believe you won't POAS...I am addicted to them. I refuse to let a nurse tell me on the phone whether or not I am pregnant. I want to be the one to find out on my own...so I can grieve or celebrate in private. You must have alot of willpower.

Lisa32- OK deep breath. Now exhale....I would try not to worry. I know that is probably easier said than done. I haven't been through this yet but I have read that sometimes spotting can occur and it's still ok. If you are very concerned (which it sounds like you are) I would call my Dr ASAP. They can give you peace of mind. GL and baby dust! *HUGS*
Maybe someone else can chime in and make her feel better. It must be almost midnight there right? Like I said, I haven't been through this yet. I just wanted to send you a response and try to make you feel better.

My RE said not to panic if there was bleeding. As long as you are not soaking pads you are ok. My mom had what she thought was two periods before she found out she was pregnant! Don't work your self up just yet, you are probably fine!

Does anyone know how to calculate days past ovulation with days post transfer? So if I am 9days post transfer what is that in days past ovulation? When I get results on Firday I want to compare it to the betabase but I don't know what the correlation is!

Hi Ladies,

Just another quick one, as I'm too sick and tired to write, though I have read everyone's posts.

Just after I posted here yesterday I rang the ob/gyn that did the egg collection since the IVF clinic itself seemed completely unconcerned. He sent me straight into emergency. They did bloodwork and ultrasounds to diagnose OHSS and the reason for the pain in my abdomen was the large amount of bleeding from abdomonal capillaries as they become thin walled and leak due to the hormone overload. Finally got the pain under control around 7pm last night as previously the meds were making me sleepy but not helping with the pain. The vomitting started around 4am this morning, but compared to the pain I had been in this was nothing! I haven't eaten anything much since monday really anyway, so there was only bile to throw up. Bloodwork this morning showed that the bleeding is under control and I have thankfully been allowed to come home and ET should still go ahead on Sunday. 6 good embryos and 4 still under consideration, so happy with that. Not sure I could do the whole cycle again even though this could be avoided.

Love and baby dust to you all. Sorry no personals.

lisa32 - sorry about the bleeding <hugs>. The good news is that you can get a bit of blood like that for many reasons. As long as you are soaking pads (like others have said) it should be just fine. There is a lot going on down there so a bit of blood is not abnormal.

Kizmet - oh wow, I feel so bad for all you have been through <hugs>. I am glad that things seem to be getting a tad better. From what others have said OHSS is no fun. I am really surprised your IVF clinic was unconcerned, they sent me home with a sheet of what to do and the symptoms of OHSS. I also have a sheet of foods to avoid and eat for OHSS if you are interested I can type it in for you. The most important thing is to try to keep hydrated. My clinic recommends 1/2 of what you drink be gatorade/poweraide. I hope that your eggs grow well!

kitty - the ultrasound numbers look great, how are the medications treating you any side effects?

rio - did you figure out your days past ovulation? I was told ER = ovulation. Thanks for posting the link, I was going to look that up tonight. We travel a few times a year to the east coast and it is a long trip for us. Not knowing would drive me insaine too especially if the dr knew. I think I would have sat in his office until he told me  Only 2 more days though!

PA_FA - the procedure you are doing is new, and not done at a lot of clinics yet, it sounds really good though. I hope you have lots of success with it. We will all be rooting for a good egg retrieval on Friday. Friday is shaping up to be an excellent day for our group! No worries about the lingo, everyone is happy to explain just ask. This is a great place to vent share and be supported.

lisadcb - I also refused to POAS, though I have been tempted. I figure the doctor's results are more reliable and I don't want to take a chance of being wrong either way. Let us know how the US goes

I have planned a busy day tomorrow to keep my mind off the wait. Progesterone + estrace = evil side effects "breast tenderness, dizziness, fatigue, constipation, headache, fluid retention" yup all the signs of pregnancy are side effects too. It is enough to drive a person crazy

Morning girlies,

lisab,
Hi there! Yup, I,ll keep my fingers crossed so AF doesn't show up for a long, long time from now on! :D Lots of bruising from Lupron shots??? Never had those and I'm prone to bruising... maybe your skin is more sensitive, or you move the needle too much? Or push the meds in too fast?

purple,
Whoops, sorry that DH is so anxious. Talk about projecting yourself into the future!!! Well, I'm sure whatever the results, you guys will adapt just fine! :D Having twins made you tough, I'm sure he can handle this! ;) Tomorrow I'll have my beta at 2:30pm.

rio,
wow, you sound like a real dynamo! :) It is hard to concentrate at work indeed. TOo bad your dr isn't giving you news, but in barely 24hrs you'll know!

pafa
hey, nice to meet you! Don,t worry, after a little while you'll be an expert on this board! :D Welcome! and lots of baby dust to you!

lisa32,
I hope you're feeling better today. Blood is always tricky. You always hear stories in which blood meant BFN or miscarriage. And you always have positive stories to counterbalance it: it was implantation bleeding, it was just a fragile cervix, it's just because the meds boost your lining so much the capillaries are more prone to harmless bleeding, you just lost a twin but your other baby is fine, I know this woman who bled profusely and refused to beta test and when she finally did she found out she was pergnant and had a healthy baby in the end, and so on. The truth is, there is now way to know for sure what's happening right now. It,s really hard, I know, but there's nothing you can do right now to prevent a BFN. Your body is doing its best, your embies too, the protocol too. The meds you're taking plus the super normal stress that comes with the 2ww makes your body send you tons of confusing signals. And you never know if those signals mean BFN or BFP. The best you can do is nurture a cautious hope, pamper yourself as much as you can, keep yourself busy doing things that you enjoy, which keeps your PMA up... and let the days craaaawwwllll away, one after the other. (((((((HUGS)))))))

kizmet,
Hi there sweetheart! Oh my God, IVF really hit you hard for your first time!!! You poor thing, I'm so sorry you had those complications. Was the OHSS test positive? OOooh I know it's tempting to tell yourself you won't go through that again a second time, but do give yourself some time to recover. I'm really happy to hear that you have 10 possible embibabies, that's amazing! :D Maybe you'll even have frosties! The girls are right, if you have OHSS, drink a lot of fluids, and a lot of Gatorade. The electrolytes help your kidney get rid of all the excess fluids that are trapped inside your body. I send you a huge hug and I'll keep you in my prayers and thoughts until ET. Hang in there sweetie.

kitty,
yaaaaaaaaaay!!! Looks like you'll have a good reaping! :D Good for you, you must be very happy about things going according to plan!

Have a great day ladies,

Sophie

Hi Ladies, I haven't been on in a while and am still new to this so don't really know everyone that well yet to do personals. Many of you are going through a lot and close to end of 2 ww - I wish all of you lots of luck and BABY DUST!!!!

AFM - Monday I went for BW and US and tuesday was able to start the estrace 2x a day and lower the lupron to 5 units, next tuesday more BW and if all ok can increase the estrace. If all goes well I am looking at probably the second week of June for my frozen transfer. I am very excited and keeping a PMA. I am doing all possible this second time around, started doing accupuncture once a week, and will be doing fertile yoga on saturday. Hopefully this time is IT!!!! :D

:D Have a great day ladies...and baby dust to all :D

Hi ladies, I hope it is ok to jump in.
I am also cycling in May. They transferred 2 embryos earlier this week and I am freaking out! Like Lisa32, I get my BETA on May 27.
I am especially freaking out for two reasons: 1) the doctor's office called yesterday to tell me that only 2 embryos made it to freeze! I wonder if that is indicative that the ones they transferred won't last!?!?! and 2) I was supposed to change my Vivelle patches yesterday and did not realize that until this morning! I am so scared that I have screwed up and that this will not work!!

Lisa32: Did you learn that the bleeding was ok? My nurse told me not to panic if I had slight bleeding- it depends on many things including what meds you are taking. Good luck

Thanks for letting me vent and good luck to all!

24 hours and counting every minute till my BETA!!! 2nd beta! But it will be nice to know if the numbers increased already!
It will be one happy Friday for all of us!

Bril - Welcome! Don't worry about the embryos that made it because they say embryos react different to being in the uterus than on a dish, so don't let that stress you with the embies you put in! And it seems like you were close enough on the patches so don't worry! :) It is easy to drive yourself crazy but try your best to distract yourself!

TDF - how exciting you get to have a FET, how many frosties do you have? Yes! This time will be it!

PMA - what time are you POA tomorrow? What time zone are you in? :) I am so excited for all of us! Which HPT are you using? Your son better?

purple - you are correct, ER=Day of ovulation! Did you have a high beta with your twins?

Kitty - congrats on great follies!!! That is awesome! Let us know on Friday how it looked. Grow follies grow!!!

lisa32 - has the bleeding stopped? Don't let that worry you like everyone is saying! It ain't over until the fat lady sings!!!

kiz - so sorry again. Sorry also your clinic wasn't much help. I hope the pain and vomiting are better now. How many will you transfer back any ideas?

So I was putting the cart in front of the horses and I went on the calculate your due date section. Our due date WILL (PMA) be January 27, 2011 funny that I thought we would be having a March baby! :)

Baby dust!!!!
