Kajol20 wrote:Hello Everyone,

So finally I got my Beta Result,as my HPT said "BFN".. Its negative...Since it was my 1st IVF/IUI attempt ,you can not expect much...I had some doubts, but my hubby was so positive...now he is so upset...my next appointment is May 25th...I guess we will go fro FET..Still have 8 Frozen embryos left...I guess i made some mistakes during fresh cycle transfer..the main thing is I dint take any kind of rest even right after the transfer.....I shud have taken atleast 2-3 days Complete rest....now we both r feeling bad about that...anyways I will not repeat any kind of mistake during my FET....wish me luck for that...

Karin- I have a question for u...as u said u have Polyps n cyst, how come ur cud RE start ur IVF without treating them..I also had polyps, but my RE did a surgery right before my IVf,coz Polyps also cause Infertility...U shud check with ur RE,if its possible for him toh remove them before ur next IVF cycle...

All the best and keep us updated....as I said Previously "We r sailing on same boat"...so dont give up...I am here...
I'm sorry to hear that. And I'm sorry I did not post earlier.

I did not chime in earlier on this thread because I wanted to make an encouraging post. Your first two posts told me the odds were against a pregnancy, but I could not just say that. 11 days after a day 4 transfer is usually long enough to see a positive HPT if a pregnancy occurred.

The symptoms you mentioned, sore breasts and such, are related to progesterone. Pregnant women have those symptoms because they have elevated progesterone. Women undergoing IVF almost always receive progesterone supplements, so they have those symptoms whether or not there is a pregnancy.
Ghost:- Dont say sorry Dear Ghost..Its okie if u cudn't post earlier...When I had my ET,my RE said u have 50-50 chances..now I understand why did he say that, may be he knew it...I have no complain with my Dr as I picked one of New york City's Famous RE from Beth Israel Medical Center(thats also a top 5 hospital of NY)...
It wud be great if u can advice me for FET...I still have 8 frozen Embies left( Morulas)..I need a friendly Opinion as i cant ask everything from my RE..coz Whenever I try to do that,he always tell me that he dont trust Internet stuff...But I do,trust me...
for FET,what they gonna do...will they thaw them till blastocyst stage or what?? r there any DIET/DRink restrictions before FET....

any word of help wud be appriciated...

Thanx...

So here my questions are- Fresh Cycle VS Frozen Cycle, which is more Reliable or both r same..

Kajol,

I am so sorry to hear about your BFN. I know exactly how you feel. My husband and I are so sad. At least you have some embryos left to use. That's a brighter side of your story. I have none and for some reason I don't respond to meds like most women do even though my FSH is good. I only had 3 eggs retrieved. When I said that I had cysts and polyps....they did get removed. I was on BC for the cysts and surgery for the polyp. Before the last cycle my RE even brought up donor eggs. I thought I would die. I couldn't believe he even brought it up so soon. I am just not ready for that yet. The thought of it makes me nauseous.

When you say that you didn't do strict bedrest...did you work? I think about every move that I made after the transfer. I layed on the couch for 3 days straight. I did get up to take my 11yr old to school and back. I took the dog outside to pee a few times. I walked upstairs at bedtime. I wonder if I should've stayed in bed and only get up to go to the bathroom. I'm sure you feel the same way. I read that some say that you could return to normal activity the next day. Who knows? We tend to blame ourselves and try to figure out what might have happened, but in the end, it's not up to us. It will happen when God is ready for it to happen. Sure we can help him out by doing our part, but it is His plan for us.

So...back to the drawing board. More needles...more bruises...more anxiety...more money...more hope. We have to have faith that it will happen for us. It will. I know that there's perfect embryos waiting to choose us.

Hang in there. Take care.

Karin1 - don't beat yourself up. There are no proven studies that say one way or another that bedrest is beneficial. just think of all the people who get PG the old fashion way and what they do. Most don't even know they are pregnant and are running, hiking, partying and who else knows what. So don't beat yourself up if you didn't stick to regular bedrest. Like you said it is all out of our hands.

Kajol - Sorry about your BFN, I also didn't reply because I new the odds of a BFP were slim when you didn't have a positive on the HPT 11dp4dt.
When you can do a FEt is up to your RE. Some clinics make you take a month or so off, others will let you jump right in after you get AF.
As far as growing your embies out to blast, that would also be up to your clinic and what they do. IMHO I would think they would grow them out to blast.
I usually get AF 3 or 4 days after stopping the progesterone. I think most say you should get it within a week after stopping progesterone.
Fet vs Fresh - FET's can be better the fresh because your body is on less drugs and less stress. I would also say with most clinics FETS might be better because the embryo's have to make it till day 6 before they will freeze, only the strongest embryo's will make it that far. Though your case looks like your clinic froze yours early before the blast stage so that might not be the case.
Hope that helps a little.

Your doctor is correct that info from the internet is often unreliable.

At most clinics, the fresh cycles have higher success rates than FET.

I think growing them out a little longer makes a lot of sense.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

Kajol - I am so sorry about your BFN.

But, it sounds like you have a plan already for another cycle. I think it is a good thing to have questions to ask your RE because I believe every patient should take an active role in their treatment. I’m glad you got your questions answered already. I wish you good luck on your next cycle.

Kajol – I am so happy that you have already made plans for a FET! That is so very exciting! Does your RE have an idea of when the transfer date might be?
