Hi all! Hopefully it's not too late to join this thread. I transferred 2 embryos on May 13th and am currently on the dreaded 2ww. I'm going craaaazzzzy! I was overstimulated from the medication I was on (Follistim and Luveris) and my estrogen got really high (over 5,000) and I was bloated with pains in my ovaries. I drank lots of gatorade and ate salty foods the week of my retrieval and it eventually went away. The thing is I heard that if you get pregnant after being overstimulated those symptoms usually come back and so far I haven't had any of that so I am getting scared. I test on the 25th. I can't decide if I should POAS before the test. I am afraid to jinx it but I will get the results over the phone when I am at work so I am sort of wanting to be prepared. The last time it was negative and I tested before so it helped a little to know in advance. But it was still disappointing either way. What do you all think? Are you taking a HPT or waiting for the blood test results?

less than 24 hours.... woohoo!

rio - My numbers were really high with the twins. When they called to tell me, my wonderful reaction was to ask if they were sure. The nurse laughed at me and said they were really really sure. The first number was in the 300's and the second one was in the 1000's. Are you going insane today? At least mine is first thing in the morning!

brio - welcome!

pep23 - welcome! It is never too late to join the group! I prefer to wait for the doctor's office to tell me, even if it is negative, but I think that it is just a personal preference. The other thing is my clinic advises not to use POAS, I guess they have had too many frantic phone calls.

kitty - I have to say I am not a fan of menopur. Every time I would hope it wouldn't hurt and then the burn would come... ugh! I feel your pain. Luckily it is for a short amount of time. I hope all your little guys have grown like crazy and you have a good appointment in the morning.

I had a pretty good day, I can't wait until tomorrow though. This afternoon has crawled by. We were having a fun time outside until my son cracked his 4th helmet of the year riding his bike. Thank goodness for helmets though, better that than his head. I hope everyone had a great day.

Good morning ladies,

So, how are you doing? I'm doing great, it would be hard not to, since I made an exception this morning and began my day with a pecan latte and an almond croissant. Ooooooooooh boy, lots of sugar and fat, but sooooo good! :) I'm also very happy because I was able to make a pretty decent koi fish cake for my real estate agent. I was worried it might look too "toddler birthday", but it looks adult, professional... and cute! :) You can see it here, in my portfolio www.wix.com/pasdlatarte/pieceofcake.

Other than that, we had quite an event yesterday, because DS finally figured out how to move forward with his little car. I expect he'll roll everywhere in no time, and figure out how to do the same without his car. DH will have to install those safety thingies on allllllll the drawers and cupboard doors, and lower his bed mattress. Ah, well, DS has been a late bloomer locomotion-wise, so we've had it easy up until now.

Hey, lots of new activity on this thread, it's great to see new faces! :D :D

Tricia,
Hi there,I'm happy to read that everything seems to go according to plan so far. Good for you! :D Oh, acupuncture and yoga, great choices!!!! I miss yoga so much, I had breathing exercises to do, but I've been so tired since ET than I haven't been able to do it. But I should go back to it this weekend, now that my yoga quarantine is over.

Bril,
Hi there! :) LOL it's cool how we seem to share many test dates. Three of us test today, and now at least two of us test on the 27th! Hunny, you have to realize that your uterus is the best place in the world for your embies to grow. I still don't get why some clinics let your embies grow in a petri dish before they freeze them, knowing that the mere freezing and thawing already puts them at risk. Believe me, if your embies are strong enough to hatch, they will, there's nothing you can do that will change that! :D SO just trust your body, your meds, your doctor, and your embies, and let the magic happen... :D I wish you tons of baby dust! Oh and by the way, we ALL worry like that when we skip meds or don't take them properly. During the 2ww, you're not in fine tuning, so by the time your new Vivelle dose kicked in, your body was still surfing on the old one, or only missed it for a few hours. No big deal!!!! The body's natural hormonal changes are way more irregular than what we recreate with our meds!!!

rio,
hehehe you must be over the moon today, it's test day, finally! :D When do you test? When will you know the results? How? My time zone is middle eastern time I think, not atlantic that's for sure. Anwyay, I test at 2:30, I'll know the results towards 3pm and I won't be able to post until later this evening. My son is doing great, thank you, it's me that's getting a few symptoms of his flu. He just coughs and sometimes has a runny nose, but it's no big deal. No fever, he wakes up once or twice when he coughs, but he goes back to sleep on his own in no time.

pep,
Sorry to hear you had OHSS, I had it once and it looks like you had it a bit worse than I did. But it's great to be allowed to munch on chips, hey, it's therapeutic! :) Yes, technically, you're supposed to get worse if you're pregnant, I've seen it around here. BUT if I remember well, when I had OHSS and decided to go ahead with ET' my doc told me it was a possibility, not necessarily a fact. Before, I used to say that HPTs were evil. When I POAS the first time, it was a BFN and I ended up crying the whole afternoon and being all depressed, despite the fact that I thought I could still keep the PMA even if I tested. The second time, I think I didn't test. The third time either. And the fourth time, I tested one day before because I had all those symptoms. It was positive, my husband is the one who looked at the stick because I was too nervous and it's he who gave me the news. It was wonderful, being able to get the news from him. So my advice is, given that last time testing before going to the clinic helped even if it was a BFN, then go for it. It's not over until the fat lady sings (which means that your HPT results are confirmed or not by a blood test, the only reliable test there is), but at least you can get a first shock in the privacy of your own home. It's no fun, trying to keep a good face in a clinic and having to walk through alllll the waiting rooms filled with people on your way out, holding back your tears, then the parking lot, then the subway or bus... you see what I mean.

kitty,
I hope all your tests are encouraging this morning! Grow follies, grow!

purplefish,
WOW! 4th helmet? LOL in French, we don't litterally say someone is "bull-headed", the literal translation is "he has a hard head". Well, that certainly applies to your son, LOL! HOW in the world does he do that???? I can't stop thinking about you, I know you test early this morning but we'll only know the results in a few hours because we have a 3-hour difference I think.

dyz,
technically, depending on your protocol, FET happens around 16-17 days after day 1 of AF.

PAFA,
crossing toes too! :D

bei,
thanks for your well wishes! How are YOU doing dear?

Rio, purple, I'll check all the time until I see your results.

Okay, well ladies have a great day and I'll be around to rejoice with our recidivist mammas-to-be, rio and purple!!!!!

Hi ladies,

well, it's official, it's BFN for us this time. We tested negative on a first response hpt (98% accurate) and my period just started. I'm sorry to begin the series with bad news, but I'm sure rio and purple will contribute with lots of BFP fireworks! :)

I'm okay, don't worry, I've known pretty much since yesterday morning, so the shock is behind me. I'm absolutely certain I want to give my son a brother or a sister; raising him as an only child just feels wrong for me. But not at any price. DH is ambivalent about doing IVF again, so I don't want to force him. I'm not ready to let go of that 2nd child yet, but if DH isn't on board, or only halfway, it's not worth it. I'll go to the clinic this afternoon for the official test and gather info so we can talk about it and make a decision. I'm pretty bummed that we'll have to go through the whole shebang with the pricey tmts, the injections and ER and so on, and possibly even have frosties that we'll never use (which makes DH uncomfortable), but I've been through much worse in my life. We'll be okay.

So take care ladies, and I'll stick around to have the news!!!! :D :D :D
