Teresa/Franny and all those who I've cycled with in the past -it's great to see you all on here again! It's weird because I was just thinking the other day "It's weird when the posts are only for 1 month..." and then I ran across this one - I wish you all baby dust ALL OVER YOU!!!!!
I probably won't cycle again until August but I'll try to keep up on here (Teresa, you know how I am - I'm great for a few days and then I trail off again!! HA!

Third FET - Oct '11 - expanded embryo - BFP (Blake born 7.5.12)
Hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. Its sad having to go back to work but at least the week will be short and will hopefully go by fast!
Ashley- I am excited to have you as a potential cycle buddy in August. It seems we can never get it to line up just the way we want it to. So when do you get to talk with the RE about your next cycle? You will still be doing an FET right? Dont worry about trailing off if I dont hear from you much I will just PM you a whole bunch till you reply!
AFM- Well AF finally came for me on Friday so the plan is still to wait till next month around the 4th to see if she comes on her own. If not, more Provera for me and then I will probably start BCP. I love when I'm stuck in limbo with nothing to do but wait and worry. Anyway, thoughts and prayers to everyone and lots of Baby Dust!
Teresa - just heard back from my RE yesterday - the only thing that showed up in all that blood that they took from me was "thyroid antibodies" so they're going to do another blood test, clean out my uterus before the next go-around and do the STD testing again (on me and DH since it's been a year). They are also going to put me on Lovenox to try and help out with the transfer and my body accepting the embroys. This next time will be our last FET before we would have to do another fresh cycle (we'd probably do the attain program there so there's more of a guarantee!) I will be cycling in August with you!!! I'm so excited - I have a feeling it will work for BOTH of us this time around!! (here's hoping!)

Ashley- Its good to hear that your RE is taking extra steps to insure your success this cycle. What is Lovenox? Is it a type of progestrone? How does it help the embryos stick better? As for the thyroid antibodies, my mother has problems with her thyroid and wanted to make sure they checked mine during the blood work up. They tested T4 which I believe is thyroid and everything came out normal. Does the thyroid effect your metabolism and therefore possibly effect implantation? Isnt it crazy how there is always something new to learn in this process. Just when you think you've heard or read everything it turns out that you've only really scratched the surface! I am so happy that you and me will cycle together in August! Did the RE give you an estimated date for the FET? Ok I think that's it for my 20 questions for you...sorry but I told you I was excited.

jenice- I have to agree with Franny how exciting that you'll be at ER! I remember being so nervous at that point but woke up and was feeling pretty good. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get lots of eggs and they all fertilize! Dont forget to keep us posted and I'm sending lots of baby dust to you.
Franny- I'm glad you had a nice Memorial Day with your DH. We basically did the same thing, but had my MIL come down from Northern AZ to stay with us. We ended up buying 12 movies from Hollywood video because they were having a going out of business sale. So we watched lots of movies and just relaxed it was really nice.
I have to say that I enjoy having this place to come and see how this IVF process works. I am preparing to begin and it feels like a lot of hurry up and wait. I have completed an evaluation cycle and everything from my end looks normal according to the nurse. She said we should schedule a consultation appointment with the doctor next. I called and cannot get in until June 30th. I am disappointed because I just want to get everything started or at least know what the plan is. I am off work for the summer because I teach and I was hoping to have my first IVF cylce done before going back in August, but now I don't know. Any ideas as to what a timeline might look like???

Rebecca- Every cycle is a little bit different since they kind of tailor them to each woman. I see you said that you finished the evaluation cycle. Does that mean that they did your initial ultra sound, blood work, HSG (saline US to check for palyps in the uterus) and the Iodine test to make sure your tubes are not blocked? After I had all that done THEN my RE started me on BCP. I started them in Mid January and stopped taking them the first weekend in March. But that is only because my RE was booked until March. After I stopped taking the BCP I had my ER done the 23rd of March and then had them transfered back 3 days later. So I dont know if this has been helpful but I'm sure your RE should be able to give you a ballpark of when your retrieval will be at your consult. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you finish the process before school starts so keep us posted.
Teresa~Thank you for the response. It eases my mind to know that I should have a better timeline after our next consult appointment. I have had all the tests you mentioned...hsg, ultrasound, bloodwork, etc. After doing all of that it is just hard to sit and wait until the end of the month, but I know this isn't the only waiting we will have to do.

rebecca this whole process is a lot of waiting! it sucks, but we just hope its worth it in the end. if you have your next appointment on the 30th i'm sure you'll be able to be done with your cycle by the end of august for sure. i dont start my cycle until the 25th (on BCP's right now) so i'm also just waiting around. luckily it seems that the waiting isnt as bad as it was back in winter. being snowed in all the time made the days DRAG on! get out and enjoy your summer vaca, and you'll be off and running before you know it!

Hi Everyone,
Great to finally start chatting with you all. First, is anyone over 45 or knows of anyone over 45 doing IVF with their own eggs? I can't seem to find any info or stats on this. I'm 46 and having my first IVF in July. I'm on bc pills now that aren't working. I've been spotting for 11 days now and had my script changed once already. They say I'll need another hormone test soon. Originally my fsh was good but my estrogen was really high. I'm getting nervous about the success at this point. I start follistim at the end of June and they'll retrieve eggs in mid July. The embryo transfer should be 5 days later after they crack. Hopefully there will be some to implant. We are also doing pgd because of our ages. I have a 28 yr old daughter from a previous marriage and 3 granddaughters we adore but I would love to have children with my fabulous man before it's too late. Any advice or feedback anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait to get this show on the road!
Good luck and lots of baby dust to everyone!!!
