hi ladies! looks like i'll be joining you this summer! it's so nice to "see a few familiar faces!" FRANNY....how are you hun? so will this time be our lucky break? i really hope & pray that it will be...for ALL of us!

the plan is to start in the beginning of august. af should show her evil face right around the 1st of august, so it looks like i'll be doing the retrieval/transfer about 2 weeks into august. our 1-year anniversary is on july 18th...we're going to west palm beach, so when we get back we'll be nice & realxed & ready to start.

looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi ladies~Wow, I see a lot a familr names here! So nice to "see" you all again. I hope you do not mind me crashing the thread. Some of you may remember me, I am a past cycler....1 failed last September and a m/c in February. DH and I took some time off after the m/c. My last IVF was very painful so I needed to give my body a rest from all the hormones etc...however, here I am again. I am currently finsihing up my last week of BP and will start lupron in a couple weeks. I expect harvest and transfer to be mid to late July. We are hoping for a better outcome this time around. We are doing the same reg as last....down reg with lupron, add repronex but we are also going to do ICSI for certain. Last time they noticed, my husbands little swimmers were a little shy around the eggies....so we are going to force them on a date! I am super nervous this time as this will be our third IVF and year 2.5 of trying for #2. We have been lucky to have IF insurance to this point but its pretty much gone now and its all out of pocket....so I hoep this works b/c we will likely only have $ for this one cycle.

I just wanted to say hi, instroduce myself and say good luck! I am sure we will get some great news on this thread! 8)

hi everyone!

ester so great to see you jumping back in the game!! i cant believe we are both still here. it means we are strong and not depressing at all right?? haha
i've been ok. i'm actually feeling really calm about this up coming cycle (we'll see how long that lasts once i actually get going)
i really hope this is the time for both of us!! oh..me and DH's anniversary is july 16th!! it will be our 4th...dont ask me where that time went...mostly trying to have this damn baby already haha :D

miyaya hi hun!! so glad to see you! how's maine? its beautiful down here in NH this week! so did you end up switching RE's for this cycle? i remember you were going to go for 2nd and 3rd opinions. what did they have to say? i remember you saying it was hard to find clinics that had options close to you without having to go to portland or boston. i ended up going to RSC to get a 2nd opinion, and i decided to give my current clinic one more try, and if its a BFN i will be switching to RSC and trying one last time. i'm so sorry to hear about your insurance running out...god that stinks! i'm crossing everything for you this time sweetie! xoxo

lauren so the whole clinic closes down for a whole month?? thats crazy! last time i was at my ET one of the nurses told me they even did ER and ET on christmas! my clinic also has 5 different RE's so i'm sure they just plan their vacations around each other. sorry you are going to have a lil delay, but atleast you can start the patch while they are closed, and be ready to start right away without waiting till august to start the patch! i'm very excited to see how you respond on the estrogen since that will be what i'll be doing if this try doesnt work. do you have any fun plans for the summer to keep you busy??

lauren how are you hun?? i hope you are feeling better. i havent seen you around here in a while, and i'm hoping you are doing ok! pop in to say hi ok?? oh yeah...GO CELTICS!!! :D

jenice how are you doing? i saw on the other thread you posted that they moved your ER to friday. when is your next SnS?? keep me posted ok? grow follies grow!! do you trigger tomorrow?? :D

afm not much going on around here. its beautiful here this week so i'm trying to get out and enjoy the sunny days with my dog piper! still on the BCP count down.

i hope everyone is having a great day!

****much love always****

Hi Franny~ Maine is beautiful! We have been so lucky with the great spring weather. How is NH? I am headed that way this weekend. Well after the m/c we had our post cycle consult with RSC. Basically, all my eggs were mature but the outer coating on the eggs were making them unapproachable by the spermies....They said protein can cause that....they said, a sure way to fix it is to do ICSI. So we discussed with Boston IVF and they were pretty much going to do everything the same. So we decided to stay with RSC. We love Dr. Glat and feel comfortable with hims despite the failed cycles. Oh well. We will give it the old college try....at least this time. I so hope this cycle will be yoru lucky break as well.....how we keep doing this hugh?

Ladies...I would so love to join your group. I will be starting my Very FIRST IVF cycle with BCPs in late July.....with ER being around August 20. I'm excited, scared, happy, sad......and that is just with the thought of starting a cycle, would so love to hear any all advice on getting through this with a shred of my sanity left..lol. About my...am 33..hubby had vasectomy over 20 yrs ago....started out wanting to do IVF after aspirating his sperm, went to IUI with Donor...after being poked and prodded and all the other fun stuff turns out I have rotten eggs, hubby as immature sperm and we are doing IVF with DS...that felt great to tell someone!

My main question is...how do you stay positive, but realistic? How do you carry on everyday life without becoming consumed by the IVF. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

miyaya when i went to RSC for my 2nd opinion we saw dr. glatstein! we liked him alot too, but i think it was because he said he thought there was hope for us even after 4 failed cycles that didnt involve donor eggs. i really only decided to try one more time at my current clinic because of timing. there is a chance my insurance my be changing at the end of the year that can effect our fertility coverage so we want to get in as many tries as we can before december. i actually have very little hope that this cycle will work because its the same exact protocol as my last cycle where i only got one embie. if we waited to go with RSC we woulda had to wait until august...so we might as well be doing something inbetween right? haha i figured i cant go that many months without being pumped up with some kinda hormones. what would i blame all my moods on?
i think ISCI is a great idea for you, and i hope its exactly what you need for your BFP! i have no idea how we keep doing this haha i think we are just baby crazy and stubborn!

gr8countrygirl- Welcome to our group! I know exactly what you mean when you say it feels great to finally tell someone what you are going through. Its always difficult for me to tell people because they always say the same things which I'm sure you've heard too. "oh it will happen" and "God has his plans for you". Anyway, as for ways to stay sane I have found this site to be a great relief. You can gripe, complain, cry, and cheer on this site and everyone understands because we're all doing the same thing. Also I know a lot of ladies find acupuncture to be very relaxing but unfortunately my DH and I couldnt afford it. But it sounds like you and me will be pretty close in cycles. I should be starting BCP mid July with my ER around the 28th.

Ashley- Come out, come out where ever you are. What are you doing to keep yourself busy? My poor garden is dying in our hot AZ weather. Have had excessive heat advisories all week. I think yesterday was 110! About the only thing staying alive out here is the blasted mosquitos. Maybe I should come live with you were its safe to go outside without 8) , sunscreen, and a bottle of water.

gr8countrygirl ~ Welcome! I am also getting ready to start my first IVF cycle. I don't meet with my RE again until June 30th to go over everything and it can't come fast enough. I would agree with Teresa that this message board is a great place to share what is going on and to be with others who understand.

I'm looking forward to starting my journey and I hope to hear lots of good news from everyone on here!

Gr8countrygirl - Good luck! I am in a similar boat to you - my DH had a vasectomy 18 years ago after 2 kids with his first wife. I'm 33 with PCOS. We did our first round of IVF in May and only got as far as doing the ICSI/fert and then I got really sick with OHSS and spent a week in hospital, so I had to cancel the transfer so we froze the embies we had. So now I have 2 embies on ice waiting for FET in July. Fortunately DH's sperm is fine, so we didn't need to use donor sperm.

Teresa - I had to laugh when I saw "come out come out wherever you are" :) It made me giggle sitting here with my husband while he watches some TV show I have no interest in. We went to Bone Fish Grille tonight for $5 bang bang shrimp (simply delicious shrimp!) and we just got home - I might have stopped at Kohl's to do some shopping (30% off - how exciting!)

Lovenox is a mild form of heprin (blood thinner) - they think there might be something that just gets clogged up that keeps it from attaching (ie. they have no idea why I'm 26, healthy and it's not working so they're just going to try different things!) :)

Hope everyone is having a great week - I've still been swamped at work, trying to find a new job - we'll see how it goes! My recruiter is working hard to find something! My transfer is set for August 18th (my parent's anniversary!) Woo hoo!

Hope you all have a great week!

Thanks for the warm welcome.......I have enjoyed reading all the posts..it really helps to hear your stories and successes. I have been doing some research on all this and I have basically found nothing..meaning every women is different and every RE has a different method. I am so lucky that my insurance pays for a good portion of the expense, I do have to travel about three hours to my clinic. Has anyone else had to travel for this process? I think the travel is going to me the most stressful...that and the hurry up and wait...lol.......if any one had traveled how to you ease the stress of the commute. Another concern I have...bedrest...my dr says strict bedrest for four days after ET...any advice on not going crazy those four days.

Thanks again for sharing! Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi All,
Please help out a newby!!! Just got my meds. Yeah, like that's not intimidating. Looking forward to starting the next faze of the process. Waiting for the nurse to call to tell me to start my injections. I'm soooo nervous!! I can't believe this didn't happen naturally. I had my daughter at 18 just by breathing in my ex husband's direction. I hope this works. I have a wonderful man and we would love to have kids together. Does anybody know of anyone over 45 who used their own eggs for ivf. I can't seem to find any info and it's really making me nervous about the whole procedure. Has anyone heard about acupuncture to aid in the success of the outcome. I'm sure it can't be any more painful than the folistim injections. I'll be starting those soon. Did anyone have spotting from the bc pills? I've been spotting heavily and consistantly for 2 1/2 weeks now. They seem to think that I'm just prone to spotting. That is also making me very nervous. I just don't want to stress myself out of a successful outcome. Any advice to a newby would be greatly appreciated!!!
