Kamaile- I can't believe you get to have your u/s tomorrow! You are hilarious! You sound like me with my secret beta! LOL I was seriously in freak out mode this week. Luckily I kept very busy. I hope I see 2 tomorrow but I would be just as happy with just 1 healthy happy bean. DH only wants one but says he THINKS he can handle 2. I guess we shall all see huh????

Pafa- yes i have no patience!! I usually handle things better than this but there is just too much waiting involved between the ER and the ET and the 2ww and then the 10 more days till the 3rd beta and then 8 days till first u/s.....thats just too long for me...I feel like a kid on Christmas!!!

Hi all

Not great news for me today I'm afraid - my 2nd beta is only 112 - 1st was 61. 2nd beta was five days after first so not looking great. Am trying my very best to stay positive but finding it hard. I haven't got another bloodtest for a whole week. How awful! Might have to see if I can get one earlier.

Any other stories of low betas would be much appreciated - negative or positive. I'd prefer if you were straight up rather than nice as I'd like to know the facts and where I stand. Unfortunately I wasn't in much of a state to ask more questions from the clinic when I received the results this afternoon. I do understand that my low beta could indicate an ectopic pregnancy or result in miscarriage.

Rio - your heart must be broken and my thoughts are with you. I'm getting a wee taste of it at the moment. All the very best for you next cycle.

Pa_Fa - you crack me up!

Kamaile - hope everything goes well with your ultrasound tomorrow :D

Lisa - great stuff with your first beta number. How exciting if you are brewing twins! What a great number of twins this cycle has produced!

Mev - can understand you keeping everything under wraps for a bit longer. Both my parents and DH's parents have no grandchildren. We haven't told either set of parents - to avoid them being disappointed. DH's parents have already been through a miscarriage scenario with DH's sibling. Have fun in Toronto.

Hey girls! I am finally finding a moment to post and there is lots to catch up on!

Kitty- I agree that the 2ww for ultrasound is so hard. I honestly found it harder than waiting for my beta. I'm on yet another 2ww right now for my second ultrasound. I am running out of patience!!

Mev- Welcome! And congrats on possibly twins! As far as meds I am on progesterone suppositories 3x a day and then baby aspirin once a day. I will stay on that until I am 10 weeks.

Tess- I am so sorry you are stressed about your 2nd beta. I hope it turns around for you. I cannot believe they are making you wait another week. That seems crazy. What did they say about it? They didn't offer any feedback? Maybe you should call your OB and see if he is willing to do a test for you in the meantime?

Purple- Sounds like things are going great! So happy for you! And no more PIO injections is awesome!

Pa-Fa- Good luck on your ultrasound!! I totally understand feeling on-again, off-again pregnancy symptoms. Today I was stressing out when I woke up and didn't feel nauseas. My DH thinks I am a loony! But as much as the nausea bothers me it also reassures me that things are progressing!

Rio- What a crazy rollercoaster you have been on. I am glad it sounds like you will finally be able to put this cycle behind you. I think that shopping for a new RE is a great idea. They didn't sound very accommodating with all you were going through.

Kamilie- That is awesome you get an early ultrasound! You are so sneaky! I had to wait 16 days for my first ultrasound and it was torture!

Lisacb- Don't read too much into the numbers. I have seen people on these boards with high betas have one and people with "normal" betas have multiples. It all depends on when the embryo(s) implant and start producing the hormone. Just be happy with a BFP! And a strong first beta!

AFM- I am currently in yet another 2ww waiting for my 8 week scan. I go in Wednesday afternoon. It's on my birthday so it better all be great!! Unfortunately I have had several friends have missed miscarriages anywhere between 7-10 weeks so I am ultra sensitive to that possibility and so paranoid about it. I am trying to relax and be happy and enjoy my pregnancy but I just want to fast forward through the first trimester so I am more in the "safe" zone. Hopefully after next week when I see the little bean looking perfect and healthy I will feel better! Sorry for my ranting. It's so nice to have you ladies to talk to since we are all going through many of the same feelings right now!

Hopefully this day goes by fast and then it's time for the weekend! Happy Friday everyone!

tessa - I am so sorry sweetie but keep the PMA, you never know. Here is a site that calculates your doubling time
http://www.justmommies.com/pregnancy/hc ... ator.shtml
My betas were 33/57/57/36 each 2 days apart. a week later 44, a week later 226, a week later 705 and it was an ectopic. Make sure your RE follows you closely and you are your best advocate. I am praying that your bean will wake up and get moving up again! Keep us posted! If you want to pm me with more questions, please do so. There are low betas that are great healhy babies and high betas that end up in m/c, you really never know. Big hugs to you hun!

pep - what a great b-day gift!!! Healthy HB thoughts for you! I have some news for you sweetie - the worrying never ends! Welcome to being a mommy! :) it is the first US, then the next, then the genetic testing, then the birth, then they falls... it is all a part of mommyhood :) so it is normal to worry but do please enjoy your pregnancy and try to relax as much as you can! IVF mommies probably worry more than most, I am convinced of that!

pafa - good luck and keep us posted!

kamaile - I agree with you - I have no patience for waiting!!!!!!!!!!!

AFM - just waiting and hoping for a quick conclusion so I can move on.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO I just got back from my first u/s. I have one good lookin bean measuring at about 5 weeks. :P There is no cardiac activity yet that he could see but he said that is perfectly normal. I have to go in next Thursday for my 2nd u/s. As long as everything is normal then he will release me to my regular OB. I still can't believe how high my beta numbers are and there is only one. I'm so happy either way but I guess it just goes to show that you really never know!

I can't wait to hear the rest of the news today!!!

Hi all

You ladies are amazing. Thank you so much for your kind words of support. They really help. I've done nothing but think about that 2nd beta number. I'll definitely arrange a bloodtest prior to next Friday to save my sanity. Whatever the result is, I just want to deal with it and not be left in torture for a whole week. Arggh!

Rio- thank you for sharing your BETA numbers. Do you mind me asking if you had any symptoms with an ectopic? Or were they just regular? Thanks also for the offer of a PM. I might well take that up within the next couple of days.

PA-FA - congrats on your bean. What great news.

Pep - all the very best for your birthday scan.

Anyway, time to talk my little pug out for a walk. She's a real clown so will help to take my mind of BETA numbers!!

Tess- sorry to hear about your beta...hopefully when you go again, your numbers will be right where its supposed to be!!! Isnt it so irritating that they want you to wait a week to find out?? ugh i know how you feel, i can barely stand all this waiting! Good luck to you, hope it all works out..

AFM- had my first U/S today. Saw one bean measuring in at 6w3d (which is exact from my ER/fert date). also saw his (or her) little heartbeat going.....cant wait til my 'real' U/S with my RE on tuesday so I can see how things have progressed....mayb now i can make it thru the weekend without going nuts lol
