Stephanie-

So glad to hear both babies are doing well... sorry I was MIA for a while, we're having internet issues at home and I'm so busy at work that I barely get time to eat or pee!

As far as spotting it subsided after a couple of days. And I have my Early risk ultrasound on Fri and my babies have doubled in size in two weeks. They look great to me but we'll meet with the doctor in two weeks to review the bloodwork and ultrasounds.

I'm just glad I"m not nauseous anymore and can start walking again in the mornings (which hopefully will help with my constipation.)

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Brenda - Glad to hear the spotting stopped and babies are doing well! Can't wait to hear how the u/s goes! Maybe you can post a pic or two of the little bundles?

I am just now starting to slow down in the bowel department. lol It was fast movement while I had the salmonella but now it's back to being constipated. No happy medium, just one or the other. UGH! Oh well, I will put up with it for another 4 months or so.

Keep us informed. :)

How are you other twin mommies doing?

Not much of an update for me... just glad to have gotten away from the food poisoning. lol Oh... and DH decided to change the boy name from a junior (Andrew Jay) to Ethan Andrew so the name thing is done. The little girl is Angelina Lily. :) Started calling them by their names so we can get use to it instead of boy and girl. lol

Hi twin mommies to be! Regarding the constipation...it's was my biggest issue on a daily basis, however, I think I've found a regimen that helps alot. If I forget on of these things, I start to get very constipated. In addition to having atleast 3 liters of water, I have lots of fruit (apples especially), prune juice, one Activia yogurt and stool softener (not laxative, but softener). I also keep an eye on salt intake and get fiber rich foods (in addition to fruit). Hope these suggestions help you guys.

I'm doing well. Had a doc appt yesterday. Cerclage is doing it's job and babies look great. Each about 14 oz now. Don't feel too much movement yet. Usually a flutter and/or a poke. But it isn't consistent. But on the sonogram they are moving like disco dancers. hehehehe

I did have a scare yesterday b/c I started to notice a huge about of yellow/brownish discharge that looked like snot. I was really upset and worried thinking my mucous plug had dislodged. Come to find out it is a build up of discharge from my Prometrium pill that I insert vaginally. After returning home after my doc appt, I looked this up...and sure enough many women posted this as a side effect. UGH. Wish I had known! I think I'm going to change to a different progesterone vaginal suppository pill that doesn't cause such a discharge build-up. My doc told me that using Prometrium vaginally is actually an "off brand" use...meaning it was meant to take orally...but if used, of course, vaginally. The coating of the pill is what dissolves and causes the discharge. ugh...gross. Big hug to everyone!!!!!

My doc took me off Progesterone at 8 weeks. (I took vaginal suppository Crinone, man... talk about discharge. It was disgusting). I hear some people are on it for the first trimester but after that your body starts naturally producing Prog. Plus we're having twins so we prob make more. Perhaps your doctor will take you off...

Thanks for the constipation advice. My husband is in nursing school and keeps lecturing me about water, exercise, and fiber. So when it gets bad I add the powdered fiber to foods. So atleast I"m getting two out of three, right? :) Haven't really started exercising... I def planned to but was sick for first trimester. I've only been feeling decent for 2 weeks and here in Massachusetts we've had 12 out of 14 days of rain! Can you believe it?

This weekend we're going camping and to a film festival on Cape Cod. So that will be plenty of exercise with lots a walking and window shopping, biking on paths in the sand dunes, etc. Luckily it looks like the weather will finally cooperate with us.

happy weekend everyone!

Nothopelessyet- Thanks for your insight on progesterone discharge. I just started taking it about 2 weeks ago (at 19 1/2 weeks) due to my cervix starting to shorten. I had a cerclage put on my cervix at this time as well. Apparently progesterone therapy can help alittle with putting off preterm labor. I am changing from Prometrium to another kind that is made to be used as a suppository...and hopefully will absorb better and give a little less discharge. We'll see. But atleast I know now what it was!

Happy Father's Day to all your DH who are already fathers ...and those who are soon-to-be!

Karen-

Oh if you're having a cervix issue then it totally makes sense to be on Progesterone. My friend had a cerclage and had to take progesterone oil shots once a week.
