Hi all

Pa_Fa - I am soooooo happy for you and so relieved to hear that your wee bean is fine. I've been watching the board closely and really hoping that your outcome would be just fine :D

Great to hear that 'pregnesia' has set in for many. Mev - I think you've coined a new word. It's a great one too!

Rio - so pleased to see that your BETA numbers are finally dropping. Thanks also for advice re being pushy. I can relate to what you're saying. I've spent the last three years going through the public health system here in NZ re my fertility, and have learned some hard lessons about learning to be your best advocate. I'm now not shy to ask questions, and will certainly be asking for an ultrasound ASAP. I hit 6wks on Monday so really want to check what is going on sooner rather than later.

I had my 4th BETA this morning so am very nervous about results this afternoon. Am really hoping for a rise in numbers to about 3000+ today.

Does anybody else suffer from migraines? I've had them since I was about 15 and they have got increasingly worse with age. I've had three whoopers since my ET and can't take my usual meds i.e. Imigran. I realise that I've just got to 'grin and bear' it during pregnancy but was wondering whether anybody has any useful advice.

Hi to all your 'waiting' ladies - I think that's pretty much everyone!

PS Yay for blogs! This board has really helped preserve my sanity. It is so nice chatting to women who are all going through the same/similar thing.

Hi there

Just a quick update. My 4th beta results were only 1163 so not great unfortunately. I've got another bloodtest on Mon and a scan on Fri so hopefully we'll get to the bottom of this soon. :(

Pafa -I'm glad to hear everything is ok.

Tess - Wishing you all the best.

Rio - Glad the numbers started to drop.

AFM - I had my last beta and it was 5,521 on 14dp5dt (day 19). Even though my arm is really bruised from all the blood draws, I wish I could get some more betas...

Tess - big hugs, I am so sorry hun that the results were not what you expected. Having just been there, I feel your pain and the unknown is so hard. Keep praying for a miracle! Let me know how Monday goes. If you have any questions or just need to vent, PM me. What was the percent increase for the last Hcg and how many days?

Lisa - you are an HCG addict! pretty soon you will becom an u/s addict too ;) great news

Kamaile - no one here can keep stories straight so we all cheat a little ;) when you reply to the post, keep scrolling down and you will se all the latest posts in this thread, this way you can see who wrote what and respond accordingly. I have Momnesia really bad and drives my DH nuts! But ask me anythign about our bean and I can tell you! Having a conservative OB rocks!

PAFA so relieved to hear all is well, what a tough job to have while pregnant, my gosh! You should become a desk jockey like me ;) take it easy and relax and rub your belly! :)

pep- Congrats on graduating to OB great news!!!

AFM - I am researching clinics still and that keeps me focused on what's ahead. I am excited to try a new clinic and maybe respond better and get my BFP! I test again on Wednesday and I hope my numbers go to zero soon so I can feel better and move to another round!

I could not resist posting a picture of our son here for you girls. He keeps me going and keeps me happy when I start feeling down about the ectopic. He is proof that miracles do happen. My Dh had cancer and survived it but the chemo killed his counts, motility and morphology. We did IVF with ICSI and thanks to modern medicine not only do I have a healthy DH who is fantastic but a angel of a son who I adore! I hope looking at this smile gives you girls hope and a glimpse of what's ahead!

With all my love,

Rio- He is sooooooooooo beautiful! You are so very lucky!

I just wanted to drop in and say thanks to everyone here for being such a wonderful support group. You all contribute so many positive and hopeful things no matter what your story or outcome is. I only have 2 friends who have ever done any fertility treatments so no one really understands. Many have insensitive comments. One of my good friends last night suggested I log on to baby.com so I can get e-mail updates on how my baby is growing and stuff. OK well that part is cool. However, I made the mistake of going into their "community" chat boards and such. OMG...I have absolutely nothing in common with these mommys. I kept reading things like...pregnancy sucks...oops I'm pregnant again...and other things that just show that many have no idea how difficult it is to get pregnant and stay pregnant. One girl on there is 14 and complaining about her boyfriend's 8yr old sister being annoying and wanting to hang out with her brother. Yes the 14 yr old is pregnant. I just think...wow that would be like me having a 20 yr old. EEEKKK!!! I just feel like everyone on here really knows what it is to be truly thankful for the life that grows inside them or the little ones they already have. Maybe I'm just being over sensitive here. Anyhow, I just wanted to say thank you for being the best support group a first time mom could ever ask for! XOXO :D

Hi all

Rio - what a stunning wee boy with the most beautiful blue eyes. Good luck with your result on Wednesday. Re my 4th beta result, I haven't worked out my percentage growth as I know it's not good. It should have been around 3000+ based on a 66% rise a day. So way off the mark I'm afraid at 1163. The doubling time is 134 hours and should of course be between 24 and 72 hours.

Pa_Fa - I too looked at the usual pregnancy blogs and was REALLY disappointed at the content: lots of very unrealistic advice, and unappreciative Mums. There was even a young guy on there trying to ask for advice re whether his girlfriend was pregnant to him or not! Ummmm! I have been very impressed with the calibre of support and advice that this blog offers.

Kamile - thanks for advice about migraines. It's just going to take me a bit of time to get used to 'riding' them out rather than taking meds. The worse thing is that it really affects my work. My work colleagues are a bit confused as to why my meds suddenly aren't working. I've made the excuse that I haven't been taking the meds soon enough and I'm also trying to cut down on the number of tablets I'm taking!

Anyway everyone, will let you know how I get on with my 5th beta tomorrow. All the very best to everyone :)

Hey Tess...I know nothing compares to good migraine medicine but my RE and regular Dr both have said that Tylonol is ok. No more than 6 per day. I had a headache so bad 2 days after my BFP that I couldn't even lay my head on the pillow. OUCH! I feel for ya. Tylonol may not help but acetomenaphin (I prob spelled that wrong), the active ingredient in Tylonol is the only thing we can take that is safe for the next 9 mos. Good luck and make sure to check with your RE that tylonol is ok for you!

Thank you girls for the kind comments! There is not a day that goes by that I don't thank God for my son and DH. I am truly blessed.

Tess - I am sorry hun, let me know how MOnday goes. I will keep my fingers crossed!

PA FA - the baby center weekly emails rock! I even get them now with him being 20 mos very helpful and interesting. I think women who go through IVF are generaly more grateful and more patient than someone who doesn't go through much. I had a girl at work come to me and say I am pregnant, and was on BCP this is the third time and I never even wanted kids! After she left I closed the door to my office and cried. How about that couple close by that wanted to sell their 9 mo old baby outside walmart for $25 to buy meth? It is crazy what we have to go through and it certainly is not fair!!!
