I realize I never posted anything over here since I post mostly on the May board. However...one bean was seen on my u/s. I have had 2 u/s now and I am released to my OB. So scary. I feel like so much can always go wrong that it is so scary to talk about being pregnant or even think about being excited. I wish I had a crystal ball and knew that everything would be ok.

mev- congrats on being released and going to the ob. How did your first apt go? I'm so happy that you had good hb in both babies. :) Super jealous that you get to stop the suppositories. I have to use them until the end of the first trimester. Yuck! But I will do anything for a healthy baby so I guess I just have to grin and bear it.

eshepherd- how's everything going with you? Our due dates are 1 day apart. :)

AFM- I am taking 2 weeks off work right now because of some spotting last week. I was headed to Ireland and had some problems. Paramedics and a Dr met the flight. All has turned out to be ok but I'd just rather not fly for now. So...I am making sure the couch does not move and the dust bunnies do not get too big. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

I am happy to be back from a little vacation. I don't have anything too exciting to say. My lazy belly muscles have flopped out, I don't quite look pregnant.. more like I have binged on beer and fries=) I have one more week until my next ultrasound and then I am off to OB land. I can't quite believe the end of this week is 10weeks for me... yay only a little longer until I am out of the first trimester.

I would be happy to field any questions about twins that people might have (gear, pregnancy whatever). I am so happy and excited for everyone!

Hello!

PAFA - My first OB appt was great, we like her. She has had experience working with couples pregnant from IVF and she has delivered several twins including a set due in two weeks. She spent 45 mins with us and it was mainly discussion and family history. She took alot of blood! (5 vials) and did a physical exam (i.e. uncomfortable speculum). We had alot of discussion about screening and genetic testing which you'll from our May Board that my husband and I are still trying to figure out what's best for us. The only "bad" thing was my OB prefers that I stay on Crinone gel until week 12 so I will continue the messy twice-daily suppository ritual for at least 5 more weeks and we'll reassess at my next appt. I better go get a resupply of panty liners :(. I also wish there were more frequent visits or all least a doppler or U/S as I just want to make sure that is still alright in my womb.

Kittymom - Welcome to our February 2011 Board! However, I think you, Purplefish, and I will all deliver in January. My OB gave me a due date of February 14th (how sweet to get Valentines Day) but I think making it to Week 37 is the goal, which will be about Jan 24th.

Purplefish - Happy to hear that you had a nice little vacation. Congrats on reaching the end of 10 weeks! I will feel so much better once we reach Week 12, plus it's getting really hard to keep my "secret" and I have many loving and supporting family and friends that are anxiously awaiting our "official announcement". I have already decided to wait until Week 18 to announce it at work, unless I am obviously showing beforehand. My sister said she didn't start showing with her first pregnancy until 4 1/2 months. Did you show early when you were pregnant with your 1st set of twins?

Hope everyone is doing well, getting plenty of rest, and enjoying pregnancy as best we can through the nausea :) I have never been so happy to feel sick!

Hi ladies
Thanks for the warm welcome :)

Mev-we have the same due date. I'm sure we wont make it to Valentines Day my doc said 37 weeks would make him happy.

Purple-I may be asking you some questions since you are the resident twin expert!

PA_FA- So glad to be joining you on this board as well :)

I do have some general :?:
I don't want to jinx myself, but I have no morning sickness at all. I know I'm lucky and shouldn't question it, however, it makes me a little nervous. Anyone else had this happen? I am exhausted all the time and if I don't eat I get queasy but as soon as I eat its gone.
Also my doc took me off all meds. I was afraid this was too early (7 weeks) anyone else? He said once hb is detected on u/s he stops all meds. I go see the OB the 12th for my 1st appointment...ahhhhhh...another 2WW :)

Talk soon

Hi ladies - I'm new here. Quick question - at what week/day did you have your first scan? My RE wants me to wait until I'm 7 weeks and that seems really far away.

Hello mommies! Crashing again... I see you are all doing well and that is so awesome! Glad everytihng is perfect. :)

Kitty - Don't worry about no morning sickness... actually nausea is a form of it so you do have a slight case. I had the same thing... just a little nausea but as soon as I would eat I was better. I have a DD and never had a symptom before so this time around I guess with two in there, I had some symptoms. :) As far as dropping all meds... if you were a fresh cycle, I am sure this is nothing to worry about which it appears by your siggy that it was. After a fresh cycle, your body has already prepared for a baby and your levels are all nice and high and where they should be. :) If it were a FET then your RE would have kept you on at least progesterone until the babies' placentas was producing the hormone for you. :)

Mev - How are your beans doing? You know, I just got a doppler for at home use and it is awesome! I decided not to go all out since the pockets are not that generous these days preparing for twins. lol So I went to Amazon and got the $40 Baby Sound doppler. It's tiny and cute and works great! I feel the boy most while the girl must like to kick her brother more than me because I hardly ever feel her. My Ob also hasn't wanted to see me but every 5-6 weeks so I needed some reasurance. Sure enough I was able to find both heartbeats and even hear them both move. It has been great! I have my next ob appt Friday and I suspect I will start seeing him every 2 weeks from now on. If not I think I am going to throw a fit. lol

Purple - You are almost in double digits! Just a couple more weeks and you are in tri number two! Glad you squeezed in a little vacaion. We would love to but money is tight. We are thinking about renting a camper and just going to the lake for a few days over the weekend. It's DH's birthday the 3rd and of course 4th of July the next day so we would get to see the fireworks over the lake which would be so pretty. :)

Pa - Congrats on one bean... I know you were thinking two, but one is perfect! I know how leaving the RE can be scary. I wished my RE could be my OB, but alas it just can't happen that way. He was so easy going yet so informative. Seems sometimes when you go to a different office that you are almost teaching them about IVF. lol Especially the nurses!! I got lucky and have an OB that knows a lot about IVF and I also go to a perinatologist at the hospital for u/s check ups to make sure babies are growing right on track. :) Just keep thinking positive... the fear never really goes away. Each time you see your baby or hear the heartbeat it is an amazing feeling that helps reasure you that things are fine, but within a few days it seems the panic is back just because we have gone through so much to get here. So just keep your happy place. :) I think bnding with baby is very important from day one you find out you're pg. So hands on your belly and talking to the baby and such. Picturing your baby growing and healthy, imagine how amazing meeting your baby will be the day he/she is born. I have done this since transfer. lol

Daisy - Welcome to the the mommy side! 7 weeks is when they can see the heartbeat so that is when they normally want to see you after a BFP. :) No worries. It's better to wait till 7 weeks and for sure see the HB then go early and not see it and worry until the next scan if there is one or not. Keep thinking positive, your baby will be perfect. :)

Keep up the good work mommies!

Stephanie - always glad you are crashing! I have a set of boy/girl twins already, you are in for a wonderful treat. It was a inexpensive trip, we rented a forest service cabin, it was only $30 a night, but it was perfect to catch up and chat with the girls.

mev - I started looking pudgy around 12 weeks with my first set, and by 16 weeks there was no hiding it=) I will deliver in January for sure (hopefully not December) my due date is January 28th. I am glad you have an OB that you like, I too will be on the progesterone suppositories until week 12.

kitty - don't stress about morning sickness. Everyone's body reacts differently to pregnancy and hormones, so it is not unusual at all to have no morning sickness. If your doc said it was okay to go off the meds, then I wouldn't stress. I had my hormone levels checked at the first US and they were able to take me off the shots and half the estrogen.

**i posted this on the may board so it may be a duplicate for some of you**
Hi Ladies
Hope everyone had a nice 4th!

I think I need some reassurance. Had a little trip to the ER last night. Had some bleeding (not much) but I also had some severe pain in my lower back. I freaked out a bit because that's how everything happened last time, and the baby didnt make it :( They did and u/s and both babies are great got to hear their heartbeats (which was an awesome surprise!) Still have some bleeding, no better no worse. I see my OB on the 12th. The nurse at ER said that should be fine but to call him and see if he wants me to come in any earlier. Any advice?

Thanks

Kitty - I had some bleeding with my first pregnancy and everything turned out ok.

I having been a bit scared to come over to this board, especially since I still haven't had my first U/S. But I'm not a really patient woman, so here I am. I am due on February 26th...which seems like an eternity from now. I have my first US on Wednesday and I have been very anxious. I suspect twins because of my crazy high betas...but we shall see!! The all-day-sickness is kicking my butt and I spend my whole waking hours wanting to vomit. And I am so tired...I took a 4 hour nap today!!

I just had my 1st U/S and it is twins, just as I had suspected. I am scared and not sure how it will work out with day care and juggling time with my toddler and husband.

Lisa- congrats on the twins!!!!!!!! Don't feel bad about the naps....I take a 4 hr nap on most days. Then I sleep about 10-11 hrs at night. I can sleep like it's my second job! ;)

Daisymae- My first u/s was at about 5 weeks. My second was just after 6 weeks to find the heartbeat. All I have learned is that every RE is different. Good luck with your first U/S. Let us know how it goes!

Kitty - What a scare with the bleeding. I know just how you feel. I started bleeding at 6 weeks, before I had the chance to see or hear a hb so I was so sure it was a m/c. The ER doc found a baby and a hb (didn't show me though) and said I was likely miscarrying a 2nd baby. I was devistated just to find out the next day at a formal scan that I was having twins and both were just fine, two healthy heartbeats! FYI, Army hospitals suck! My doc there wouldn't diagnose the bleeding, said that there was nothing in the sono report, but if I was going to miscarry there was nothing to do about it, she was so cold! The tech showed me the bleed and even took a picture of it so not sure why she couldn't tell me what it was. Anyway, I went to my RE at 7 weeks and took the pictures with me. He was the one to diagnose me with a subchorionic hemorhage and calmed my nerves a lot, telling me it was small and would go away on it's own. It bled for over 5 weeks BUT it did go away. :) So even the scary stories can have happy endings.

Daisy - Did you find out if you are having one or two?

Lisa - I am a periodic thread cracher but glad to read you are having twins! How exciting!

Purple - It's been a heck of a ride already just being pg with these two. lol I swear I can tell their personalities already. Ethan is active and seems to be the hyper one, I can see him being a little terror and Angelina is the calm and snuggly type. She is always more in the middle pushed up against her brother, hogging the whole left side of the uterus but not really using it. Typical woman huh?

OK ladies...what is everyone eating? I am finding that NOTHING even sounds good. If it's too spicy or flavorful I get heartburn. I'm so hungry or maybe I'm thirsty. I have no clue. I just know I'm tired and want to see my bean again. I haven't had any "morning" sickness yet. Just a queasy stomach. SOOOOOOOOOO...any suggestions to fill the tummy and feed the baby bean would be great!
