Moore; Glad you got to take some gf time and enjoy yourself! I'm also a Twilight junkie, as embarassing as it is to admit it! I can't wait to see the movie.

Tiger good luck on your sns - didn't you do IVF last time? I hope your IUI goes great!!

Moorebaby - I almost went to see Twilight yesterday, but then I remembered how many teenagers would be there, so I am waiting. I am going to Tampa for a long weekend July 16. Then I am going on a cruise to Bermuda August 20. We coordinated it so I will start stimming right after Tampa, and I will get my beta probably a day before the cruise. I don't care anymore if I sound like an alcoholic lol, they know my deal by now...I need to know before going on vaca for a week if I am going to not be having drinks. I usually need 14 days of shots before the trigger, so I think it will work out fine. I am just realizing if it's a BFN I will have AF that week, but I guess they would put me on BCP and it would stop. But I am thinking this 4th tine will be the charm lol.

franny- keep us posted girl! you could always go shopping to pass the time, lol!

lauren- haha you don't sound like an alcoholic....i don't blame you for wanting to have your beta done before your cruise...a big part of the cruise is the adult beverages! but like you said, this will be your lucky time!

afm- i decided to wait & order my baby-in-a-box later. i originally was going to do it before we left for florida, but decided that i'd order it as we are heading back home from florida, so it'd be here when we get back. in case there are power outages, which we've had during stormy, humid weather, i wouldn't want the refrigerated meds (follistim) to get ruined. if i'm here & that happens, i can always bring it over to my parents'. i won't start stimming until the 1st week of august & we'll be back a week before that. i guess i could always call now & order it but give them a later delivery date, but knowing my luck, they'd make a mistake & deliver it while we're away, lol!

hope everyone's having a spectacular day!

ok i'm gonna try some personals! please forgive me if i forget someone...i feel like i'm far behind since i left for vacation, and my brain is still in party mode so i cant remember everything.

es i save the shopping days for when i really start to get impatient! haha nothing like roaming around aimlessly while i pretend not to check my cell phone every 5 seconds! where in florida are you going? its gonna be hot hot hot!! a week back home is plenty of time to get your baby in a box! i totally didnt even think about the power going out when i was away...yikes! i actually just netflix'd new moon...hopefully i will get it today. i am so far behind. i think i'm the only girl who isnt into twilight as much as i should be haha...i think its because of DH! he comes home and tells me how all his students are bat-shit crazy about the whole thing, and it makes me feel too old! i'm totally team jacob though! hahaha

lauren i totally understand you wanting to know the results before your cruise. bermuda sounds like tons of fun..how long are you going for?? i've wasted sooooo many vacations and special events this past year not drinking because of cycling...all for nothing so far! booo! i'm gonna have to do it again for our anniversary this month because i'm pretty sure i'll be on bedrest! hopefully you wont be able to drink either...but because you already know you are BFP..not just because you are waiting to find out! i'm always trying to get DH to go on a cruise, but we went on one years ago to the bahamas and he got wicked sea sick..so i dont think i'll ever get him to do it again!

sonya wooooohooooo for an early beta!!!! are you still POAS?? when do you get to go back for a 2nd beta?? i know you are being cautious because of last time, but i'm so glad you are staying relaxed!! i'm sending you tons of sticky dust and doubling beta luck!! :D :D

tiger i'm so glad you are joining our lil group!! the 6th will be here so soon!! cant wait to hear how everything is going! :D :D

maggie woooohoooo for a great beta #!!! when will you go for your 2nd? keep us posted ok??

karin how did your appointment go today?? i hope they found tons of follies!! grow follies grow!!! slow and steady wins the race right?? what meds are you on? did they increase them?

miyaya my friend, i feel the same way as you this cycle. i'm not really feeling anything about it. i'm not really excited, and not even nervous to tell you the truth. they arent changing my protocol at all this cycle, and my RE came straight out and said we are doing this mainly to give you peace of mind that you did all you could, so that you can move forward to the next step (whatever that may be) in the future with no what-if's. nice huh?? even my RE has no hope for me...the only thing i can think positive about this is that i am very calm and not stressed at all (YET!) and maybe that will help! i wish you nothing but all the luck in the world sweetie!! you deserve it!! bring on the supression!!! xoxo :D
oh....and stalking celeberties is sooooo fun!!! haha

rebecca please know that you are not alone. IVF is such a hard thing to go through...physically and emotionally..not to mention financially too! its a lot of hurry up and wait, and it can get very stressful waiting for each phone call. it makes it even harder because its such a personal and private thing that its hard to find people to talk to. even the friends and family you do tell cant possibly know how you are feeling unless they have gone through it themselves. the woman i have met and fell in love with on this board are some of the strongest, and supportive gals i have ever known. they are full of awesome advice too. i get more info on here then i do from my RE and nurses. i'm so glad you get to go on vacation and relax before this process starts. it will help alot. does your family know what you are going through? if they know i'm sure they will be sensitive about the kids. my 2 nieces are the light of my life...they are really the only kids i can be around and not feel like crying. i love them as if they were my own! love your family, and it will be your time soon...i promise!

ok so i wrote a book, and i feel like i missed so many of yall!! i will do a better job at keeping up now that i am home.

afm i got the call from my nurse, and i start my gonal-f tonight! pumpin me up with 225 units. then i start 225 both am and pm tomorrow. i dont have to go back for more b/w until tuesday. i dont know if its just because of the holiday or what, but i usually have to go back alot sooner then that. oh well...i am free to enjoy my holiday weekend without having to get up at 6am for SnS's! i'm also such a slow stimmer that i dont think the waiting will be hurting anything...the less i know the better sometimes...less to stress about!!
i hope you all have amazing weekend!

***much love always***

Hi Ladies,

I just got home from my follicle check and it's not good. :( I only have one follicle...again. I am so sad and disappointed. My RE wants to know if we want to do another IUI or just try naturally. He brought up donor eggs again and it makes me so scared to even think about it. I'm not sure if I am ready to go there. My husband isn't home. He had to go to work this morning, so I haven't even had a chance to talk to him. My RE said that my ovaries are resistant to meds. This is my 3rd cancelled cycle. I only had one cycle make it to ER and then we only got 3. I don't know what to do. I don't know if I should try another RE? Try one more cycle and if it doesn't work, then do DE. The problem is that its all out of pocket, so I'm not sure if we can afford to another cycle and then a donor cycle. It's a lot of money. At some point, we will have to stop or we will not be able to support a child if we ever get pregnant. Does anyone have any advice?

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful day. It would be nice to hear some good news from one of you.

karin- oh hun i'm so sorry! how do you think dh feels about de? so is your re cancelling this cycle? i'm just breaking for you...maybe you & dh should take a little break...take a nice, relaxing vacation together....save some $$$ & look into de if you're both ok with it. (((HUGS)))

franny- yay for starting stims! i'm totally team jacob...lol! it's so funny what you said about dh b/c i teach middle school & i feel like my students when i'm talking about twilight, lol! when my gf's & i went to see eclipse on wednesday night, we wore edward & jacob shirts...of course i had a jacob shirt on...i felt like such a dork, haha! oh well, it's fun to do silly things sometimes. after all, we're not that old! i love your usage of "wicked"....brings back memories of when i lived on the cape & in boston!

sonya- i think your 2nd beta is today....waiting to heat the great news!

Karin- I'm so sorry to hear that the stims didnt work. I know it has to be so frustrating for you and please cry all you want. I agree with Moorebaby. Maybe a little break and some time to think and discuss the DE issue with your hubby will give you more of an idea of where to go next. I remember there was a lady on the March/April board that did DE and got prego with other eggs left for future siblings.

Franny- Glad you get to start stims tonight! Enjoy those needle pokes :D

Lauren- A cruise sounds so nice especially to Bermuda. DH and I discussed that if this cycle doesnt work out then we are taking some time to travel and I really want to do a cruise to the carribean. Don't worry not being able to drink because you found out your BFP will be so worth it.

Ashley- How are things? I miss you! Come out of hiding and tell me what you are up too. I can say that I am trying not to go out into the sauna, oven, surface of the sun that is the Arizona heat. I was out mowing the lawns when I got home lastnight. Watched the news later on and found out it was 115 degrees yesterday!

afm- Just waiting for August to roll around. Only thing I have going on this month is resigning consent forms on the 16th and my saline ultrasound on the 26th. I want to wish everyone a very happy Fourth of July as I dont usually sign on at home. Stay safe and enjoy those fireworks!

Hi All,
Thanks for all your well wishes. 2nd day of stims. Having to get 2 shots each time isn't fun, 1 on each side. I need 600 iu of folistim but the pen only goes to 450. Bonus!!! Hopefully it'll stir up some fresh eggs that aren't too old. My dh is still nervous each time we do the shots. You think maybe he doesn't want to hurt me? :)

DandMe- Great to see your success. It doesn't offend me but I see your point. I'm sure many others are looking for good news or they wouldn't be here chatting. Congrats! :)

Karin-I here you about the donor eggs. My Dr was pushing the issue before we started because of my age but my dh feels if we do this it should be our blood child not just his. I'm indifferent. I feel it would be ours either way. We'll see how things go with this first cycle. Hopefully we can get a few to work with. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I'm wishing everyone the best. I'm going for acupuncture on Monday. Anything to help this along. Hey, what's a couple more pokes? Has anyone had that done? Does it seem to help? Baby dust to all!!!
Love,

Hi girls!
I'mmm backkk! lol
Wow! Sooo many familiar faces...

Karin: I'm really sorry to hear....did your doc have you on a microdose flare lupron protocol by any chance? If you havent done this...find an RE who does. When I switched RE's 2 years ago due to insurance...my RE told me about it...I read up on it...and I contribute our success to it. It is for us older girls with low response. I ended up with 12 of my 14 eggs retrieved...ovary was hard to reach so he left 2 behind. Wishing you all the best.

Lauren! Looks like we are gonna be on the same schedule this cycle! So glad to hear that there wasnt any scar tissue or anything leftover. Bermuda cruise sounds wonderful. Perfect timing. :D

Sonya: Congrats mama! That is a great beta for being so early.

Franny: So good to see familiar faces...just wish it was under better circumstances. Yayy for starting stims and getting this show on the road. Best of luck...this is going to work for all of us this time! Whoopi? So awesome!

Chili: I did acupuncture a few times before and after transfer (same day) and right before retrieval, too. I think it really helps.

hopeforbabies: August cant get here soon enough, I am sure. I am so impatient myself.

tiger: Glad to hear that you will be getting started soon, too. Keep us posted.

Maggie: Yayy! Congrats! Cant wait to hear about your next beta! Good Luck!

Miyaya: Sorry to hear about what happened. Praying for BFP's for you and everyone!

Rebecca: Hi and Good Luck! We will be close in our dates, I think.

Moore: Good thinking about the meds. Have a wonderful trip!

Fitz: I had my gallbladder out several years back...it is pretty simple. I was out on a canoe a few days later. lol Just stay away from mayo and high fat foods for awhile after surgery. Trust me. lol

Lou: So good to see you here...trying again. So sorry again, about your miscarriage. Praying hard that it will work out this time.

Sorry if I missed anyone...

AFM: Looks like I am joining you after all. We were gonna wait till Sept due to DH's crazy overtime schedule in August...but eh, I can handle a cycle and a toddler all by myself, right? Right?! lol Yikes. So AF started Thursday and I called at the very last minute yesterday and told the nurse to call in my bc pills cause we are going for it now after all. A friend of mine who just did IVF and found out yesterday that she is having identical twins...gave me that little extra hope and strength that I needed to continue now rather than waiting. I took my first pill last night and will stop them on the 20th. I will go in on the 23rd for a baseline ultrasound and start meds. Estimated retrieval will be Aug 6th and transfer Aug 9th...based on my stim schedule 2.5 yrs ago...which worked well and we got Zach. Most of you know me and know our story...but for those who dont...we did a FET in April and I miscarried at 6 weeks. We used all 3 of our frosties and are back to doing fresh cycles now. And, some of you may remember that we were also calling quits after FET, but here we are again...not willing to give up just yet.

Good Luck to everyone! Congrats to the BFP's!

Hi Everyone,

I am brand new to both the forum and IVF. I've read through many different sites and attempted to get up to speed on all the lingo, but have a ways to go. Please bare with me

I am 26, my husband is 29 and we've been ttc for at least 6yrs now. I have a DD from a previous and much younger relationship and have tested to have no problems. My husband has tested with severe low sperm count and IVF plus ICSI are our options. This is my first cycle and I'm excited yet a little nervous about what's to come with the entire process. We have decided to go through this process semi-alone (me, my husband, and God.. So technically not alone :) ), so I thought it would be helpful emotionally to join a community of courageous women going through the same thing.

I'm currently on BCPs and have my ultrasound to begin injections and my IVF nurse consult scheduled next week on the 8th my transfer is tentatively scheduled for 8/1 day 3 or 8/3 day 5. I hope to stay updated on others progress and share mine along the way.

Thanks for having me. God Bless
