Hi everyone! I'd love to join this thread in hopes of starting to cycle sometime this summer (fingers crossed.) Most of my history is in my signature so I won't bore you all with the details, but I had a tubal reversal almost two years and have since had 1 m/c and 1 ectopic (where I lost both my right tube and ovary.) My kids are adults now, but DH has no children of his own and as I approach 38 in a couple months, we're ready to become a bit more aggressive. We could go the route of IUI, but after having had the previous surgeries on my tubes and the scare of the emergency surgery for the ectopic in Feb, we're thinking it might be best to bypass the tube as much as possible.

HSG last year showed my tube open and DH had an S/A done last year. We met with an RE a couple of weeks ago and I had a boat load of b/w done this past Wednesday (13 vials worth - checking Progesterone, Glucose, Thyroid, looking for clotting disorders, etc) then after AF arrives any day nowm I'll do the CD3 b/w and baseline ultrasound to see what my lone ovary is producing w/o stim. So once we get all of the results in we'll know when we can get started.

Fitz...glad to hear that the whole gallbladder thing is behind you and that you are on to IVF. Yes, I would definitely think the surgery, meds, stress, and everything would naturally have you spotting prior to AF. It always happens to me, too. Any day now....sooo exciting! Come on AF!!!

Amanda...Hi and Welcome! Glad to have you here!

happy 4th everyone!! :D

karin on hun i am so so so sorry!! trust me i know how you feel! it sucks, and its heartbreaking. were you doing the estrogen priming followed by the antagonist protocol? i'm just so sorry it didnt work for you. ive been canceled twice due to poor response, and both times i actually made it to ER i only got one egg each time. my RE has been bringing up donor egg since jan., and i keep making her give me one more try. i'm not ready yet, and DH doesnt like the idea. he thinks if its not both of ours, it should be neither of ours...plus the price tag is very over-whelming. PM me anytime you want to talk. there is also the option of embryo adoption which is less expensive...just something to think about. dont give up...there are always options out there to make your dreams come true!! (((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))

tammy welcome back mama!!! woooohoooo!! i'm so happy to see you are ready to jump back in!! glad to have ya here. this will be your time!! :D

fritz i'm not sure about whats happening to you, but i spot right after ovulation quite often. its super annoying, but all the dr.'s and RE's ive told about it say its fine and normal. yours might be stress, or coming off meds. its very common to spot between AF. just try to relax, and she will show her real face soon, and then the fun begins!!

claud and gi i thought i told you guys there is no such thing as crashing here!! please stop by often, because i know i need your support!! i dont know what i'd do without my preggo cheering squad!! xoxoxo

sonya woooohooooo for your 2nd beta!! sooo exciting! keep us posted on your next one ok??

afm just stimming away. ive been getting some headaches, but i'm sure its because i cut out caffeine all at once on friday, and i'm a diet coke junkie...do you think it will be ok to have one drink with caffeine in it a day? these headaches are no fun. ok well i'm off to the local beach to enjoy the sunshine, and then DH is gonna grill me some yummy kabobs when we get home! have a great day everyone!!

***much love always***

franny- i'm sorry about the headaches...you're probably right...the caffeine withdrawal is the worst  i'm sure a little caffeine is ok. so, how was the beach? dh & i went too & it was so nice...i love the sun!

amanda- welcome! keep us posted on when you start stims. do you know what meds you'll be on?

fitz- yay for gallbladder surgery being done & over w/! are you usually normal w/ your af or does she come sporadically? i'd say it's probably stress & having surgery recently that may be causing all the weird symptoms.

hannah- welcome! i have the same issue...well no children for me, but we have to do ivf w/ icsi due to dh's severe male factor. it's completely normal to have the mix of emotions. just remember we're all here for you :-) what meds will you be on?

tammy- yes you can handle all of it.... looking at your signature, you're 1 strong woman! glad you'll be joining us!

sonya- great 2nd beta!

chili- how are the injections going? is dh getting used to doing them yet?

karin- how are you doing? thinking of you.

afm...not much going on. oh yeah, i got af today & i'm so happy, lol! last time it came in 31 days, which is not very normal for me. i usually get it every 28/29 days, so i was worried b/c if i got it in 31 days this time & in 31 days in august, that would mean i'd start next month's ivf cycle towards the end of the 1st week in august & i really want to begin asap in august b/c i'd like to have my beta done before school starts. teachers go back monday, august 30th. so since i got af today & hopefully will get it in 28 days, that would mean i would start stims august 2nd/3rd & (crossing fingers & toes) have my beta done on the 29th, right before school starts.

fitz- i go to uconn in farmington. yeah, taking days off the 1st week of school wouldn't be good. although, my principal & assistant principle are women, so they are very undestanding & have been wonderful w/ me taking days off & coming in late. hopefully my beta will happen right before school starts on the 30th, but if not, i can always go in late to school on the 30th & 31st b/c those are staff development days-no students. so what & where do you teach?

i teach Special Ed high school - my students are Developmental delayed and autistic- i work w/ them on life skills and getting them ready for adult services, my kids are 18-21. This year my class moved into a high school from a community setting, so i really cant take off 1st week- too much tranisitoning my kids to a new setting. What do you teach?

Hi All!

I had an appointment with my RE today and had a follicle at 22. He gave me a trigger shot and will be doing an IUI in the morning. I am feeling much better than I was the other day. I've decided that I am going to keep trying. It only takes ONE egg and as long as I am producing one every cycle...we will keep trying! My DH and I talked about donor eggs and we've decided to keep trying for our own at least until the end of the year. Then if we have no success we will consider DE. This gives me some time to try other protocols and get comfortable with the possibility of DE.

Tammy- Zach is beautiful BTW. Will you be doing the microdose flare lupron protocol again? How many eggs were you producing before you tried that protocol? My RE brought up growth hormone. Did you try it or was it ever talked about with you? Not sure how it works.

I hope that everyone had a great weekend!

Lots of love & hugs to you all! :D

Thanks for the welcome!

moorebaby - I'm not sure yet what meds they'll have me use. Hopefully we'll know more after they finish up the remaining b/w & u/s this week. I'm looking forward to hearing the results, discussing the plan with the RE, and of course getting it all underway.
