Hi All,
Tried acupuncture today. Hey, what's a few more pokes for good measure?:) The Dr is a Chinese gyne and specializes in Chinese medicine. She said my numbers looked good and 3 treatments should help before the ER if I have any. I still felt like a pincusion but it wasn't bad. I go in the morning for my blood tests and to see how many follicles sprouted. Hopefully I'll be good to go for ER next week.

Moore- Thanks for asking. He's doing great with the shots. He always worries that he's hurting me. It's nice that he cares and he's not squeamish about the task. I'm sure the Progesterone will be worse. The baby will be worth it.

Can't wait till these tests are done tomorrow. Hopefully we can move on to the next step. Thanks for all of your support.

Love and Baby Dust to All,
Chili :D

sonya- i understand why you're concerned, considering everything you've been through. can you ask for another beta, just to give you a piece of mind? i have a good feeling, but i definitely know why you're concerned. when is your u/s scheduled?

Sonya- Your beta numbers sound good to me. :) :) :) Not that I know much about them, but if your RE is happy with them then that's what matters. We're all praying that your numbers continue to rise.

Franny- I know those headaches are awful. I am prone to migraines, so I get scared everytime I have one. I only have my one big cup of coffee a day. I tried to quit on my first cycle and had a migraine for 3 days because I couldn't take anything. Now I don't even try. I just have a little less and hope for the best. I hope that it gets easier for you.

Chili- I do acupuncture too. It has helped me a lot. Keep it up. I've been told that it's the stuff that miracles are made from. So why not try it....right? You can handle a few more pokes. It will be worth it!

Lauren- You must be getting ready for Tampa soon and then for your cruise. I am so jealous! I love Tampa and cruises are the best. Go have a fruity drink and enjoy!

Tiger- Good luck on your IUI! When is it? Maybe this will be the one and you won't even have to go to IVF. Wouldn't that be awesome???

Fitz- I spot yucky stuff just before AF too after doing a cycle of meds. I'm sure that it's normal. Will you start stim soon?

Moore- YAY for AF!!! Finally!

Hannah- Welcome!

Amanda- Welcome!

Hi everyone!!
I was in the April/May cycle. I have not been on since our 1st failed IVF cycle and now we are getting ready to do our 2nd cycle. We had only 7 eggs last time with one left to transfer. Of course, that one did not make it, but our RE has up our medication this time. I am on 375 unit of Gonal F, 75 unit of menopur, and 20 unit of leuprone. I know I misspelled all those meds.(LOL) Our egg retrieval is next week and I am getting nervous. I hope the US this week shows lots of follicles :) Anyways, I just wanted to say HI and let some stress out.

Hey Amanda; Sorry your first cycle was unsuccessful. It's great that your re is upping your dosages - i'm sure you'll have a better outcome with this cycle. You spelled everything right except for Lupron. LOL Good luck and please keep us updated on your follie count!

Hi girlies!

I just had to do a quick crash to wish all my girls good luck! I'll resume to stalking and cheering you all on as soon as this week is over, I 'm starting to move a little slower now and get tired faster and my DH took off this week so we could get finished repainting the office and bathroom and soon to be nursery, so I have to get all the work out of that man that i can this week! I'll try to check in as often as I can on you all. I wish you all the very best of Luck and hope to see you guys on the other side soon! And good luck to all of you that I havent met yet also!

Franny - I'm pulling for you girl! My Re & OB both said that a small amount of caffeine is alright, so dont stress 1 soda per day (most have 35mg of caffeine and even pg you're allowed up to 200mg per day) I've never given up 1 half cup coffee in the morning, and 1 diet pepsi with dinner, but then water for the rest of the day, hope that makes sense but theres no need to torture yourself with caffeine withdrawl headaches. Do I have it right? tues is your first SNS?
I've got everything crossed for a good report. I think of you often and miss you lots! - much love my friend - xoxo

Lou & Tammy - I answered you guys on the other board but i'll say it again - I'm so glad to hear you're both trying again and you're in my thoughts & prayers that you all are back over there by August - good luck and I'm here to cheer you on! - xoxo

Tiger, Lauren and Es - I'll keep everything crossed for all of you, my old cycling buddies - best wishes and this will be your time! - xoxo

Hey ladies,

I do not have a lot of time as I am at work. I never got a chance to sign on over the long weekend. I have read all the posts but no time for personals right now....except...woohooo Sonya! I think the Beta's sound fine! Positive vibes coming your way!!!!!!!!!!!!

AFM, we "tried" camping this weekend with my son....elts just say we only made it one night. But that is ok, we ended up having a very relaxing weekend at home...enjoyed the lake, did some little projects around the house that needed to get done...

Other than that, I am still on down reg.....supression next tuesday. I too am having hard time on the caffeine....I stopped coffee but the minute maid natural energy drins are killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it sucks we have to give this up....I mean, can't anything be easy! Geesh....all this infertile girls wants is a little energy! Is that too much to ask! What we do for children! :)

I spoke with RE's office and plan is the same essentially this cycle.....225 units gonal f, 75 units menopur.....but we will add icsi. I am wondering though....I produce a lot of eggs....last ER we got 21....but only 9 fert. Out of the 9, there was moderate frag and we only got B quality. He thinks we will get more embryos by doing icsi....but do you think I should worry about the fragmentation? Shoudl I injuire about the growth hormone stuff????

Hope everyone had a nice long holiday weekend. I am still trying to catch up with everyone's posts so i will have to do personals later. Just wanted to give Sonya a big congrats for her upward climbing betas! :D DH and I had a nice relaxing weekend all to ourselves. We had knocked out all the yardwork, housework, and laundry during the week so had nothing to do but BBQ and have a couple of beers. Hope everyone had an equally good time and I promise to catch up with everyone next time!

Chili -- Good luck with your stim! I think Im going to go back to accupuncture as well this cycle. After all, I did get pregnant last cycle!

Sonya -- Your doubling time looks pretty good. I'm optimistic :D

Tiger -- Good luck on our IUI!

Amanda -- Good luck this time around. I too had 7 eggs last cycle. 4 were mature and 3 fertilized. Two were good quality, but I transferred all 3 and did get pregnant. I had a m/c at 12 weeks. Remember, it's quality not quantity. I'm hoping for around 7 eggs again but more mature ones so I get 4 embies or so. We shall see.

Katie! -- Thank you for the support. I saw you wrote me on the other board too. I miss being there. Trying to focus on my upcoming cycle. I've got "all my eggs in one basket"... no pun intended! PLEASE, crash often!

Miyaya -- My RE explained that fragmentation doesn't always mean a bad embie. My first IVF I transferred 2 perfect 8 cell embies with no fragmentation whatsoever and had a BFN. My second cycle, I transferred two with a small amount of fragmentation and one that had a moderate amount and ended up with a BFP. He said "I've seen a lot of beautiful babies born from fragmented embryos".

Tammy -- My dates will be almost the same as yours! ER/ET the first week of August. I start my stim 7/24.

Franny -- So sorry for your headaches. How's the stimming going? Grow follies, grow!

Sorry to those I missed this time around. Best of luck to all.

AFM -- Started BCP's yesterday for 14 days. I will be on an antagonist protocol starting 7/24 with Follistim 450 units and Ganirelix. ER/ET should fall the week of August 2nd. I'm terrified. This will be my forth time going to ET. I've been at this a whole year and now need to redo my bloodwork, ugh! My insurance won't even pay for that if you can believe.

Sonya – yes, I did IVF last time but they didn’t find any sperm from DH, so we had to cancel the cycle. We’re moving forward with donor sperm now with IUI. YEAH! So excited about your 2nd Beta! CONGRATS!!!! Isn’t 146 good? Do you feel better this time around?

Moorebaby – I love twilight too! I still haven’t seen the 2nd movie, but I’ve read all the books!

Lauren – makes perfect sense to me! You should be able to enjoy your vacation!

Franny - we both had appointments today! How did your’s go? How are you feeling?

Karin - I’m glad that you’re able to still move forward with IUI. I never even thought of that. What a good solution. I am crossing my fingers and toes! I would love if this IUI cycle works…please!

Teresa – Hi my dear! So exciting that you are starting again in August. I’ll be checking on you!

Chili – I do acupuncture as well. I don’t know if it helps, but it sure does relax me and make me feel better…so I say anything that makes you feel better do it!

Tammy – Great to see another familiar face! But yes, wish it was under different circumstances too. I’m so glad that you are trying again. I’m so sorry about the m/c. How is Zach?

Justlikehannah – welcome! You are in the right place!

Miyaya – that’s hysterical…love that you made it through 1 night though. Super fun, the first camping experience! I’m sure there will be many more!

Lou – This will be your cycle! So glad to have you here. Ugh. So frustrating about insurance. I don’t even understand it. Why won’t they cover that now?

AFM – went to my appointment this morning! Was super excited! I have 4 mature follicles, so I am triggering tonight! I will go in for IUI tomorrow at 10:15 and then Thursday at 10:15. I talked to my doctor today because I was a little nervous having 4 mature follicles. I secretly would love to have twins, but 4 would definitely be a challenge. I, as all of us, want to have a baby so bad, so I feel horrible even saying it, but I don’t think I could handle 3. It’s a little scary. So, I spoke to the dr and she was totally comfortable with it. Says people usually have between 1-6 mature follicles, so I’m right in the middle. She said my chances are still 18% success with each IUI regardless of number of follicles. Said that twins are about 10% chance and about 1% chance of 3 or more. So, I’m just thinking really positively and hoping for the best! Like most of you, it’s been a long year throughout all of this and I have been waiting and then cancelled that it seems surreal that I am actually making it to the next step tomorrow! While we are in a totally different place than I thought we would be in, I’m happy. I feel content and hopeful and for that I am super grateful.

Katie! So good to hear from you! Thanks for cheering me on. I'm so glad that you are enjoying pregnancy and even though your moving slow that all is well. I think about you often and really appreciate all of the support you have given me over the past year. I hope to be on the other side soon! See, I'm really positive!

Tiger- Wishing you the best of luck with your trigger tonight and IUI tomorrow! I think its a good thing that you will have 4 follies. When I did my two IUI's we used clomid and I only got one follie each time and both IUI's resulted in a BFN. I have good feelings that you will have more eggs to improve you chances. Did you stim with clomid or something else? Here's lots of sticky baby dust!

Hi Ladies!

I had my IUI this morning. I only had one mature follicle, so I am hoping and praying that this is my golden egg!

Tiger- Good luck on your IUI in the morning! At least you have 4 chances. Fingers and toes crossed for you! Looks like we will both be on our 2ww together.

Amanda- I hope that you have lots of follies next week! Grow follies....grow!

Lou- Looks like you're about to get started soon! You must be excited! It's your time!

Lots of baby dust to all!

Hi All,

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. We were busy with birthdays on Saturday and laid low on Sunday. The neighbors had lots of bombs going off so there was plenty to watch. The dog hates the noise so we try to stay with him to keep him comfortable. He's old so we don't want to drug him to keep him calm.
Got my blood tests and ultrasound today. My numbers look good. The nurse pointed out my "one juicy follicle" in the left ovary along with several smaller ones and another nice one in the right one. Whoo Hoo!!! They said this is great for my age and the smaller ones should keep growing. I'm so thrilled that there is progress and the nurses seem very positive. I go back Thu morning for another ultrasound and more blood work. Hoping for more good news. I'm getting more acupuncture on Friday. Anything to help this along.

Karin- Good luck with your IUI. Praying for good results for you. Thanks for the acupuncture advice.

Tiger- The acupuncture was very relaxing for me too. I started to fall asleep but when my head shifted I felt the needle in my ear dig in.

Lou- Hope this is the BFP!!!:) My fingers and toes are crossed for you. Thanks for your acupuncture tip.

Best wishes to you all! I'll let you know how things go with the next batch of tests.

Love and Baby Dust to all,
Chili :D

hi everyone!!
i hope everyone on the east coast are staying cool! this heat is insane! i thought i lived in NH for the nice summers with the highs in the low 80's...if this keeps up i might actually be able to put more then a toe in the ocean this year!

chili i love acupuncture! i havent gone this cycle yet, but i'm thinking i will go at least before ER, and after ET! its nice to feel like you are doing something to help this process where we really have no control at all. my dog hates fireworks too! (and thunder) he will jump in my lap and shake and shake and pant and pant. i dont know if he's gotten used to it or if his hearing isnt as good as it used to be because he doesnt do it so bad anymore. his name is piper, and he's 12! he's a dingo, and ive had him since he was a puppy so he is totally a mama's boy (i had him before i even met DH..so we were a package deal haha) he's crazy and hyper, but he's my baby!! whats your dogs name?? wooohooo for juicy follies!!! grow follies grow!!! what stims are you on?? cant wait to hear how many more juicy ones you get tomorrow!! :D

karin oh i am so happy to hear you were able to do an IUI out of this cycle!! it only takes one!! trust me i have to keep believing that because i only end up with one embie each cycle!! i have everything crossed for you!! when is your beta? i dont know much about the IUI process because i jumped right to IVF because of my endo! i have everything crossed that this is your golden egg!! :D

sonya yay for rising betas!! when is your ultrasound?? you're pregnant!!! wooohoooo!!!!!

tiger good luck today!! 4 good follies is great!! i have a good feeling about this cycle for you! so you went with donor sperm? how did DH feel about that? i think its great! (and soooo much less expensive then donor eggs!!) when will your beta be?? so exciting! i have everything crossed for you!! :D :D

lou yay for starting BCP's!! i know, i know...its really not that cool, but i am sooo happy that you get to start again! you WILL get pregnant, and its gonna be fine this time! you are amazing, and i'm so glad you are here! do you have any plans for the next 2 weeks to make the time go faster?? love ya!! xoxo

miyaya it was soooooo hot this weekend (and still) i cant even imagine camping in it...then add you DS to the mix, and i'd be looking for a hotel with A/C right away!! haha. i grew up camping, and i love it...but now in my old age i totally turned into a hotel gal! i will suck it up and go camping once i have kids though, because i loved it as a child, and i want my children to be comfortable in nature, and enjoy the outdoors! i think ICSI is a great idea. when i was looking into changing RE's i found out that some clinic's actually do it for everyone with no extra cost because they feel why not give us that extra little help? i think its cool! i dont know anything about growth hormones so i cant help you there. is it next tuesday yet?? i'm excited for you to get this party started!! oh i saw an add for those natural energy drinks...no good?? i dont even really drink that much caffeine, but i need my diet coke in the AM...then i just usually drink smart water, or vit. water..but without that diet coke i am miserable!!

katie my dear..thank you for checking in on me!! hope you are staying cool in this horrible heat!! drink tons and tons of water, and dont over do it on the projects! thats what chris is home for right?? i miss you tons, and will PM you soon i promise!! xoxoxo

es how are you? enjoying your summer vaca?? my DH is teaching summer school so he is already going crazy with the kiddies! thinking of you!! :D

teresa when are you starting your cycle again? i'm sorry i forgot...but i am thinking of you and hope everything is going well!!

lauren and jersey lauren haha how are you girls?? just wanted to say hi!! miss you guys! :D

to anyone i forgot...i am sorry, but know that i am always thinking of everyone!! :D

afm so i went in for b/w only yesterday and they upped my gonal-f (as usual) and added in my menopur, and i dont have to go back for a SnS until friday!! seriously...i will have been stimming for 7 days before they actually do my first U/S?? just when i think i got this thing figured out...last cycle i had SnS's 5 days in a row, and now they dont want to see whats going on in there for 7 days?? now dont get me wrong..i dont mind not having them done, because....well lets be honest...who does? haha! i know i'm a poor responder, and a slow stimmer, so i'm sure there isnt much to look at in there anyway, but i dunno...it just seems like a long time. i didnt ask why, and i didnt ask what my bloodwork was because i promised myself i wouldnt go crazy this cycle and get all stressed out about numbers...they are never good...i know this...there is nothing i can do to change it...so why get all obsessed about it?? and if i knew...i would totally get obsessed and google everything and get frustrated! hahaha ok...ive totally been doing this IVF stuff for too long...i already have a pattern that leads me to crazytown. oh well...i will just stim stim stim away, and wait until friday and see what happens.
one good thing...i added my diet coke back into my day, and poof my headaches are gone!! wooohooo!! those damn headaches were giving me flashbacks to my lupron days!!

i hope everyone is having a great day!! xoxoxo
