Teresa – I stimmed with Clomid and then did a trigger shot with Ovidrol. Thank you so much for the well wishes! I feel good about it too! I don’t go very often to acupuncture, I just went last week and then yesterday and I don’t have any proof, but I think even just a few times helps. Even if just to relax you. Oh my gosh, I would have freaked out with all those bugs camping! How did you handle it?

Karin – YEAH! Wishing you so much baby dust. I’m so glad we will be on the 2WW together. I have a feeling I am going to need a buddy! Very interesting…good to know about the 5 days after and the 10 days after. I was planning on going next week because she wants to help with implantation, so I guess she follows the same protocol, but just didn’t explain it in exact terms. I pay $67.50 per time and mine isn’t covered under insurance, but I can use my flexible spending money. So, I do that. She is a specialist in fertility as well and I absolutely love her. She is seriously one of the most positive people I have ever met, so just for the support and encouragement that she offers me, I find it priceless. She’s been on this journey with me for 2 years now, so it’s nice to have someone in your court. Also not proven, but I went to help get rid of the cyst I had too, and although it probably would have gone away on its own, I feel that because it went away in 2 months, that was a good thing too. That’s so sweet. I also have a niece that’s 10, she’ll be 11 in December. She is so wonderful and it’s so fun to see her grow up. As you can relate, I have found 10 to be a major year. She’s matured so much! It’s just crazy!

Chili – I went to acupuncture again yesterday as well. I had a splitting headache from the Ovidrol shot, so she worked miracles and really helped reduce the headache. I feel like a million bucks today. YEAH! for the wonderful follies. Did they tell you how many and what the exact sizes were? When do you go back for another SnS?

Franny – oh how nice! Get in that Ocean! You are totally right, we totally obsess about the numbers. I love that you are not getting your numbers. Just added stress that you don’t need. I think it’s alright, it will be less money to do less ultrasounds and with you knowing that you are a slow stimmer, they are just making you not crazy! It just screws up your whole day every time you have to go to the clinic. Less stress = more follies  Oh, I’m so glad your headaches are going away! Yeah for diet coke! I love your stories about piper  He sounds like a great friend  It’s taken DH and I a lot of time to make sure that Donor Sperm was the right option for us. At the end of the day, DH is very excited about it. I’ve been seeing a therapist to help support the decision, which has really helped.

Lou – Thank you so much for the support. I really means a lot! I only went through one cycle and I was on menupur, but can’t compare it to anything else, so I’m not much help! Sorry! YEAH for starting to stim on the 24th. It will be here before you know it!

Rebecca – YEAH for starting BCP! I know, it’s totally backwards thinking, starting BCP with IVF. I remember thinking, are you sure?

Amanda – I’m so sorry you are disappointed, but remember, it only takes 1 really good quality egg! I don’t know your treatment, but are you doing ICSI or 3 or 5 day transfer? Depending on how many eggs you get, you could ask to look at your treatment again. Maybe doing ICSI and a 3 day transfer would be better?

Ashley – Yeah for starting lupron on the 17th. Hopefully you won’t get the evil headaches. Ugh.

Moorebaby – thank you so much for putting together the list. I cannot tell you how exciting it is to be in the PUPO section and not cancelled! I just found out my beta will be on July 20th!!!!!

AFM: Okay, both IUI’s are done! Just returned from the final one! 4 great follies and the sperm samples were DAY 1: 12 million sperm with 48% motility and DAY 2: 21 million sperm with 78% motility. They said DAY 1 was below average, but DAY 2 was way above average. That just makes me so excited!!! I can totally feel myself ovulating today. Now the dreaded 2WW. I go in for my beta on July 20th. When do you think I could take a pregnancy test? Will the ovidrol come up on the stick? Last night, I went to my friends house to watch TrueBlood and it was the first time I didn't have a glass of wine. So early in the process, I hope they don't think that I'm pregnant yet. I said that I had a super bad headache, so what a horrible cover story!

Thank you everyone for your support, it is so nice to have all of you to talk with!

Ashley- What a bummer that work has you so stressed out. Are you looking to stay in the same type of work but just a different office? I hope you find something that suits you better but until then lean on us and that psychologist all you want. On a more positive note...yeah for starting Lupron soon! The 17th is just a little over a week away. Doesnt it seem so much more real when you are acutally poking yourself. Glad to hear from you I was starting to get worried but totally understand why.

Moorebaby- Oh thank you so much for taking up the "list" project. It looks great and will make it so much easier to keep track of where everyone is in there cycle. Seems like we get a few new people every couple of days and I get so confused. I spoke to my nurse yesterday and today and I think they might have moved me back to the August schedule. She said the calendar is in the mail so I will update you when I get it. If you want you can move me to the BCP section as I'm just finishing my first pack and will start a second pack on the 15th. Also hurray my baby in a box is on its way!

Tiger- Ok I am a nature lover but when it comes to the creepy crawlers that can bite/sting and send you to the emergency room lets just say I'm not a fan. The knats and ants I could deal with but when I saw that scorpion and centipede I was up on the picnic table screaming at my DH to get the shovel and kill them. I know they are just trying to live their own lives but sorry I was just not having them in the same campsite as me!

Teresa -- Wow, that does sound like an allergic reaction you had to the Repronex. I hope you have better luck with the Menopur!

Rebecca -- Enjoy your vacation! De-stressing for IVF is important. I totally understand not being able to talk to people who don't "get" IVF. The good news is, the ladies here do. And we're good listeners too!

Amanda -- 4 follies isn't bad for a fist u/s. Especially if you had some smaller ones too. I had 4 last time and ended up with 7 eggs and 3 good embies to transfer. So please, don't get too down thinking about it. A chance is a chance and any time you even have one embie, it's still a chance. I convinced myself... absolutely convinced myself, that my cycle would be a BFN because the quality of my embies wasn't as good as my previous cycle which was BFN. But I got a BFP. So you really can't predict your future results based on what happened last cycle. Good luck!!!

Lauren -- YAY! We're cycle buddies! Thanks for your success with 450 iu and menopur. I'm doing much the same thing. Are you doing an antagonist protocol with Ganirelix or a lupron protocol? I'm using Ganirelix. I am reallllly hoping for at least as good a response as last time. I did get 7 eggs but only 4 were mature. I'd like to see if I can't get a few more. I'd love to be able to have a couple to freeze. <sigh> We shall see!

Tiger -- You are welcome! I felt sooo bad for you guys back then. It's so great to see you back with a great chance of success again. I'm really pulling for you.

Moorebaby -- Hooray!!! GREAT list. Thanks so much for taking it on. :D

Franny -- How goes the stims? Thinking of you! XOXO

Ashley -- Nice to see you! What kind of job are you looking for? Any leads?

AFM -- Really nothing new to report... haha. Anyone have any experience using growth hormone for poor responders? Seems like it's very "iffy". Best wishes to all.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for all the warm welcomes and detailed updates. All of the information is slightly overwhelming as a new person, but very helpful in comparison to where I am in the process and what I can look forward to.

moorebaby - Thank you so much for the list. Makes it easier to stay up to date on everyone'es progress. :) My updates are below...

Today I went to my first u/s and nurse consult since starting BC on 6/25 and will begin 10 units of Lupron this evening. I will take my last BCP on 7/12 and have my baseline sonogram next Friday 7/16. If all is well, I will start my Gonel-F injections 7/17 with the following doses 225IU/112.5IU/112.5IU. My ER date is scheduled for 7/29 with a day 3 transfer on 8/1 or day 5 on 8/3. I'm still trying to take all of this information in and make sure I ask enough questions, but I'm getting the impression nothing much is going on until you make it to the baseline sonogram and stim medications. And, many questions are being answered here for me : )

I'm a little nervous about my injection tonight, but hopefully it won't be that bad. I plan on sticking in the abdomen. Any helpful tips or tricks here? Just looking for the easiest and less painful way... (aren't we all?)

Thanks everyone!

Lauren1171 wrote:Hi Franny!!! Good luck! I should be cycling sometime this summer. I got a BFP with my FET, but it has not developed normally is what they say. My beta keeps going up but not doubling. I am 7 weeks and it's only 768. At 1st they thought ectoptic. I had U/S last Friday and they could not see anything. Beta was 550 that day. 2nd U/S was Monday and I could see a tiny sac. They say they did not see anything in it, and it was way smaller than it should have been. Now they want another US on Monday to determine if they will give me methotrexate shot in my bum to cause misscariage. I have been lightly spotting since May 10! Very weird! Anyway, I have to wait a month if this ever ends, so I am thinking end of July. Good luck to everyone!

Lauren,
I see you have done a FET. How long did it take taking the medications and all? I need to decide whether to do another fresh one or do a frozen one with the 2 embryons we had frozen..........

good afternoon everyone!!

es the list looks awesome!! thank you so much! i am so not the list person so if i did it, it would look like poo! i dont even know where to find blinkies! you are a rockstar!! :D :D

lou stimming is going...not sure how well because they dont seem to care to check, but i will find out tomorrow AM when i go for my first SnS! i dont know anything about growth hormones, but i think miyaya had a question out there to ghost about it a week or so ago....

hannah welcome! good luck with your first injection tonight. its scary at first...trying to convince your hand that you do indeed want it to jab a needle into your stomach, but once you do it you'll see how easy it is. lupron needles are tiny and very easy. one thing about lupron is that is may cause you to have killer headaches. hopefully you wont get them, but i just wanted to give you a heads up if you do.

teresa i used to take repronex, and it would burn so bad going in, and then i'd get welts at the injection site. my poor tummy looked like a mess. when my RE switched me over to menopur last cycle i was excited to try something new. it burns a whole lot less, and i only get a bruise if i hit a blood vessel. so much better. i'm sure you'll think the same!! wooohoooo for your baby in a box!!! :D

tiger i'm so excited for you!!! your PUPO!!!!!! yay yay yay!!! :D :D the sperm counts sound great!!! i'm sure it was really hard to make that decision...its something me and DH have been talking about for a long time now...well egg donor...and i go back and forth alot, but DH doesnt want to do it. i think seeing a therapist is a fantastic idea. it helps to have someone you can let all your feelings and worries out too that wont judge you or tell you you shouldnt feel that way. i have such a good feeling for you though!! once you are pregnant its going to be you and DH's baby, and once DH see's that lil one it wont even matter! :D

amanda please dont worry...its still early! you'd be surprised how many follies can pop up for ultrasound to ultrasound!! plus 4 isnt even that bad...i'd actually faint if i got 4 good follies!! PMA PMA PMA!!

afm i have my first SnS in the AM..so we will see whats going on. i dont feel much of anything happening...i just find myself getting weepy over dumb stuff so i know the meds are doing something in there haha
DH had to have a colonoscopy today for his crohns so ive been playing nurse all day. he actually just called me from his cell phone up in bed to tell me he is awake! hahaha i think he's still drugged because we usually dont call each other from inside our house...so i better go take care of him...the better i do today...the better he will take care of me after the ET!! :D

Moorebaby- Thanks for doing the list.....very impressive! I could have never done something like that. I am so not a computer person. I do good to post something. Thanks for taking it on!

Tiger- I'm so glad that you're in on the 2ww with me! Looks like our betas are on the same day.

I don't have a lot of time to do personals. I just wanted to thank Moorebaby for doing the list. I will be having my beta done on July 20th. It's weird, I spotted yesterday. I don't remember spotting so soon after an IUI before. Not sure what it means, but I am feeling good about my golden egg! Hoping that it's finding a good place to snuggle about now.

I hope that everyone is having a great day!

Lou - I think it's an antagonist cycle. But none if the meds you mentioned. Just gonal f and menopur. Then when I am close to triggering I use cetrocide. I trigger with ovidrel. Our ERs should be very close!

Hi All,
Hope everyone had a nice day. I went for tests again today. I'm excited to have a few follies today, 2 big ones, 2 med and several smaller. :D Don't remember the sizes exactly. They're starting me on Ganerelix now along with the Follistim 600 I'm already on. More shots...wooohooo!! They want to keep the biggest follies from being released. Put this shot in my leg because my stomach is starting to look like a pincushion without pins. Lots of red dots there. When the nurse called,I wanted to get more info on my hormone levels but the dog started barking and I couldn't hear the nurse anymore. I'll call her back tomorrow. I need the numbers for the accupuncturist. I see her tomorrow for my 2nd session. I need 3 sessions before ER and a couple more before ET. I go for blood work and ultrasound again Sat morning. Hopefully I'll be ready for ER at that point. I'm getting anxious to move things along. Thanks for all your support out there. It's appreciated more than you can imagine. I'll send personals tomorrow. It's been a crazy day and I'm still catching up.
Love, Best wishes and Baby dust to all!!!

My DH always rolls he's eyes when I get excited that my AF finally came and I can call the RE to proudly report it. I'm glad this process is starting to seem more real to you and that you will have it completed before school starts for you. I think it is a good thing that you are staying busy during the "waiting period". Dont forget to find sometime for you to relax and enjoy yourself before all the needle pokes and SnS start!

Amanda- I'm sorry that your SnS didnt go as well as you hoped but like the nurse said hopefully some more follies will "pop" up soon. Did they increase any of your meds to encourage more follies to grow? What do they have you taking right now? My first IVF they had to keep raising and lowering my doses because first I wasn't responding well enough then I was responding too much. Try not to worry and know that we are here to lean on. When is your next SnS?
thanks teresa :) Yes they did increase the dose from last time. Last time it was 225units of brevelle and this time it is 375 of Gonal F along with 75 of menopur both times. Not sure about the next us probably will be Saturday. I am hoping for better news this time.

Tiger

Hi Tiger,
Yes our treatment includes the ICSI and last time we did a 3 day transfer, but not sure about this time. Good luck with the 2 ww and your beta on the 20th. :)
