Vasectomy reversal
My Husband has had a vasectomy, 7 months ago but we have since lost our baby, and wish to try again, he will need to try a reversal first, dont know wether it will work or not, but we can only but try.<br>any one els been through this, would like to talk, <br> JULIE LOUISE

sorry to hear your news,<br>My husband had a vesectomy reversal 2 years ago , we tried for a year nothing happening so we went for tests and he has a good count but only 20% motility and as he is 45 we thought we shouldnt wait much longer , failed an attempt at ICSI sept 02 and are on our 2nd go this month.I have heard that the sucess rate for the reversal is quite good , keep your pecker up .<br>Tracix<br><br>[Edited by Traci on 08-Jan-03 11:53]

vasectomy reversal vs. ivf
Hi
I've not posted on here before, but have read quite a lot of posts.
My husband had a vasectomy 8 yrs ago after he'd had 2 children with his 1st wife. Now he's married me and we want a child together so we investigated having a reversal. We've been told not to bother because apart from the expense, the success rates are v. low. The success rates for getting sperm to come out again are high, but they have poor motility so the success rates for pregnancies following reversals are low.
We have been advised to go for ivf with ICSI. They remove the sperm from the tubing behind the testes then freeze it so you can have a few attampts. The sperm doesn't move at all so you have to have ICSI. We've been told that because i'm young and healthy and have been pregnant before (was v. young so had abortion) and he has managed to father 2 children before, our chances are v. good.
