Hi everyone -

This has to be a quick one, since Chris is off today and we've been super busy all weekend, so i havent had much time to post - :(
unfortunately today will be spent doing the very tedious aquarium total overhaul - ugh. something has the PH levels off, and we havent been able to correct it, so now the only choice is to empty, clean every tiny piece in there, in other words a whole big project, good thing the fish are healthy and cute or I really think I'd never motivate myself for this -lol Thankfully he goes back to work tomorrow and I'll have time to be a posting fool again

Steph - Oooh, you brave girl! isnt it so much harder to trim down there when you cant see what the heck you're doing? I've been lucky so far and havent cut myself but I think I've come close a few times. OK, gulp, I'll change your EDd, but wow hazel is so right, it seems like we're al running out of time so quickly! Eeek, I'm sooo not ready yet? are you relaxed? or or getting anxious? have you managed to get your head around a c section? i mean I know they arent giving you a choice, but its still a lot to get used to after all. About your emergency route to hospital, I'm not sure, which do you trust to be faster? it would definitely be hard to sit & wait, but I guess it would depend on how bad of an emergency it would be - good to have a back up plan, but I truly hope that you never need it! Any news on the play time?

Angela - UGH, after all we've been through just to get pregnant, now your in laws want to pull the gender card?? ummm, no. They clearly dont realize that we're lucky just to be having a healthy baby in the first place! Dont let them get you all worked up, its not worth it. Hooray for the beginning of baby shopping, i've found such a big difference in prices from one store to another! Like for the Fisher Price "my little lamb" swing? it seems to be 159.99 at BRU & Target 149.99 - yet at Walmart online its 98.47 - a $60 difference! That makes it worth it to price comparison. I couldnt believe there was such a big variance in prices! We saw all the furnitue at BRU, then found the exact same make/model at simplybabyfurniture.com foor 300 dollars less, plus no sales tax and free shipping. yeah, umm, can you tell we've been doing lots of research? heee heee - tkae care of those ankles, I know how it feels :(

Hazel - Aw, honey it sounds like you had such a fab and relaxing weekend! And you enjoy your week in the country as well. Aw how sweet is your DH? An eternity band sounds like someone loves you lots! - xoxo

Natasha - glad to hear that you're feeling good! Ugh two more weeks of PIO shots, though. I was on them a while too, my placenta was taking its time to produce progesterone on its own also, but it finally caught up around 13 wks. I think that your OB is going to tell you no heavy lifting, its just too risky!

OK the aquarium awaits - darn it! xoxoxo

Katie - Have fun cleaning the tank. I tried a fish tank once when I was a teenager... ummm, yeah. That didn't end well. I am older and wiser but I know me and with my procrastinating nature in chores and forgetfulness at times, I know better than to try agian. lol Wow, to see the new EDD right there in front of me is different than just saying it. lol That and the c-section is a lot to wrap my head around. No choice but to get use to it though. It's exciting that I don't have to wait quite as long to meet them and that I won't have to suffer through sleepless nights with horrible heartburn as long. On the other hand, it is major abdominal surgery no matter how common it is and I wonder is 35 weeks too young? I assume they will give me some dteroids or other types of drugs to try and make sure that their lungs and such are developed enough?? I guess that is another question to add to the list for the next OB visit. I really hope they can come home with us. :) I am hoping I don't have to actually worry about the emergency bleeding situation. Fingers crossed, I will get to 35 weeks with no issues! Funny you ask about play time. Finally after 4 days of getting the ok for oral, Andrew finally came out of his, I will call it "funk" and we had a little play time last night. So I went to bed a happy camper.

Natasha - Glad you popped in to give an update. Thanks for your words about my brother, it was scary! Good to know you are doing well, spite going back to shots and a not so good time at the water park. The shots will only be for a couple weeks and be done for good though! At least you got a little break from them so you could heal for a little while. I hope your OB will put you on the no more than 10lb limit that the rest of us are on. It only makes sense. Good luck at your appt Wednesday!

Hazel - Hope you get to check in, but if not I hope you just enjoy yourself! You are right, we will just be a few weeks apart! You will still be the first to pop though. lol How does that feel? It does seem like it's not that far away at all but then again it is two months. What is two months though... it's only 4 paychecks! When I look at it that way, I start to wonder how I will get everything I need. My dad's wife keeps asking me if I have gotten anything for myself yet. Well, no! I mean, What to I really need? Nothing in comparison to what they need. I don't "need" nursing pads or a robe for the hospital. I rather leak through my bra if it means I get to save money on that stuff. lol All I know I need are pads for the bleeding afterwards. I won't need quite as much otherwise since I am not having a natural birth, even if I was, the hospital provides you with a lot.

Angela - I follow Sonya's blogs too. She is so articulate. Hope you had a good weekend. You are really moving along there on your ticker! Is it starting to go by fast for you now?

Emerald - Where have you gone off to? Hope all is well!

Pa - Those military balls probably normally are fun, but unfortunately Andrew's unit is full of people with only a few brain cells and those few are only firing at 50%. lol As far as your ex, that's another unfortunate about the military. Not many faithful, either the soldiers or the wives or both. I know a couple I use to live next to. The wife was cheating while he was gone, he was cheating while he was deployed, then when he came home they just kept cheating to get back at each other. They are still together and talking about another kid. Some people and their small brains! They can't take care of the one kid they have (too selfish and lazy) and they want to bring a 2nd into the mix? I just don't understand. It's just not fair how people like this get to have kids whenever they want and good well settled people have to struggle so hard. Anyway, how are you doing baby mama? :)

AFM - I got an email saying that the crib bedding was at the store!! Planning ahead (of course) I wrote down the order number from the email my dad's wife sent me on the dresser. Sure enough, it was there too! YAY!! So last night we but it all together. It was a lot more complex to assemble than the crib... took about 2 hours. Though the reviews had a lot of complaints about the assembly process, I think it went quite well. There was a little shipping damage, nothing a stain pen won't cover up quickly and easily though since it isn't that noticable. It matches perfectly and the nursery is finally looking like one! I hung up all the little outfits and the closet is almost full now. The dresser is completely funn now as well with onesies and sleepers. There are still some of Angelina's clothes that won't have a place to go until we get the other dresser, but there isn't much left to do now. Feels good just to have half complete. I will have to take a picture and show you! I have to take a steamer to the bedding yet though. Other than that, Andrew has CQ today (Charge of Quarters, 24 hour duty where he watches over the soldier's barracks rooms.) So I am taking the chance to catch up on a few things around the house. Don't worry, I am not doing too much and Alex is helping out. :)

Angela - Oh my goodness, I can't believe family is giving you a hard time! Sometimes I think people want a baby of the opposite gender that died (I've had a few friends who have lost children from newborns to 1 year olds and they have all dealt with that) so that this time will be different, but it's not like this child will in anyway erase the memory or reality of Ashley. I'm sure they will love this baby so much, but people really need to learn to keep their mouths shut. Glad you could help them along in that process!

Katie - Oh...oh yuck. Have fun with that.

Steph - YAY for getting more stuff in!! I love seeing rooms come together. Scarlett's furniture should be here this week, but I STILL haven't figured out her bedding yet! And I don't have any clothes for the babies. I have two showers in August, plus a lot of stuff people are giving us, so I am going to wait to see what we get. The good thing about having two of the same gender is that they can share clothes! Once they get into 3-6 months, they will be getting their big sister's hand me downs :D See, I knew there was a reason I went overboard buying clothes and shoes for Scarlett!

AFM - Nothing new, just hanging out. The girls seems to have gone back into hiding and are not as active as they were last week, though I still feel them several times a day. I got out the doppler yesterday JUST to make sure and of course they are fine. Darn anterior placentas!

Hi girls,

Steph. glad to hear your nursery is nearly complete cant wait to see some pics!!! So only 10 wks left!!!! Where in the name has time flown! I am so glad to hear your brother is going to be ok, what a relief for ye.

Babyluv Kayla likes to "hide" sometimes too as her kicks are all inside and i cant feel her when i touch my belly its the weirdest sensation ever when she rolls back over! Glad to hear your little girls are doing great.

Katie my you are always on the go!! Glad the shopping spree went well but 3-4 hrs in one store my feet ache just thinking about it, have fun cleaning the tank.

Claud your bump is so cute, i know i really should have pics up but i am so computer illerate

Natasha so more shots for few more wks ah it will be worth it though! Glad the bump is coming along nicely.

Hazel have a great relaxing week cause you are gonna be a busy mamma soon

Angela ah some people just dont know when to keep their mouths shut and afterall ye have been thro!! Now i love jasons mum to bits but i remember her saying to me when i had my 2nd m/c and waiting for the d&c that my probs. werent really bad compared to others, i was so upset as i still had my little dead baby inside me and thought my world was ending. Unless people have gone thro. what we have the really should keep insensitive comments to themselves.

AFM all quiet thank goodness, last night was the 1st time i had trouble shaving my legs in the shower sooooo uncomfortable so looks like i will just have to do it sitting on a chair using a bowl ....how attractive but better than hair legs  Hopefully my nursery furniture will be arriving shortly as the nursery is really filling up with stuff and it would be nice to have it done though knowing jason it will take a while!!!!

Hi everyone -

Steph - Ugh, I do remember those Army 24 hr shifts, they were always ,umm fun? well hopefully you feel more relaxed now that you got to have some play time? i wish i could say that I have any interest in play time at all, but I'd be lying. Chris does though so i have to sort of fake enthusiasm, when what I'd really like to say is - umm, not really honey. But I have to keep the man happy, right? Holey moley I cant believe that you're down to 10 weeks left! Jeez, when did that happen? lol. I looked up lung surfactant for you ( the substance that helps the lungs expand and not stick together) it seems like the babies develop it at 23 wks, and it just keeps maturing from ther on in, I know you're stressing having them at 35 wks, but i think their surfactant levels should be just fine and thats what matters most when born early, the lung maturation, plus your 2 are measuring ahead, and you're only going a week earlier than most twins, so it evens it out, so please dont stress. I'm hoping that they'll keep you in the hospital at least 4-5 days, to give you a head start to recover, thankfully with pain meds, so you just relax, recover and let those nurses help you out for those first few days, thats why they're there lol. I'm so glad that you all got that dresser put together and got to put baby clothes away. But I'm on pins & needles waiting for you to get the other crib & dresser. Does your dad's wife not get how this is sort of time sensitive? The best gift for twin mama right now would be to be able to look at the nursery and relax! Ok, she said the 1st, so i'm giving her til then then I'm going to have to give her a piece of my mind! Or slap her lol

Babyluv - How funny that you mention the babies being less active lately. me too, I guess they cant do gymnastics ALL the time - hee hee. How are you feeling twin mama?

Gi - Oh, I thought I was the only one having trouble shaving my legs - I got out of the shower the other day to realize that my left was WAY smoother than my right  , but by then I was too tired and didnt really care too much. I hope your furniture comes soon, I really was expecting Chris to be all red faced and frustrated, but he put it all together in 3-4 days with no drama at all. I hope yours goes as smoothly too! can you believe that after all we've been through, that its actually time for nurseries?! We were in such a state at the time that I dont even remember which little clothes we picked! I want to go through them today, and see what we have, vs what we still need.

Natasha - good luck at your OB appt tomorrow!

Pa -FA - cant wait to hear how your OB appt went today!

Angela - Hope you're not over doing in this hot, hot weather!

Claudia - - miss you honey

AFM - I feel like a switch was pulled or something, my energy has all but disappeared. I know the book said that will happen in the 3rd trimester, but I dont even hit 28 kws til this coming Sat! its very odd since my energy has been sky high and seems to just be gone overnight? and just like that? boom, all I want to do is take naps, and put things off because I'm just so darn tired? I'm sort of hoping that its the heat wiping me out, cause that will change soon. Oh and I have a question for you girls who already have little ones - Since you need to wash baby clothes in say "Dreft" can you still wash bottles in regular dish soap? or is there a speacial baby one to use? I sure wish my 14 weeks of no u/s torture was up soon, because I'm starting to go a bit nuts wondering whats going on in there! she's been a bit less active these last few days, but then when she does feel like kicking, its stronger feeling, So that keeps me calm, but surely having me wait this looong between u/s is only to torment me, right?

OK I don't really have energy for personals...sorry. I didn't really have such a great OB apt today. We saw the baby and everything is measuring fine right now and it is at 11w right where it is supposed to be. Not sure if anyone remembers but I went in for a u/s at 9 1/2 weeks because I was freaking out and wanted to make sure everything was ok before I ordered more expensive medicine. Well, our OB let me know today that they found a cyst on the umbilical cord. They will be keeping a close eye on it to make sure it does not restrict blood flow. When I got home I of course googled it. Now I am even more freaked out. Only 0.4% (though some day up to 3%) of pregnancies have a cyct on their umbilical cord. Of those over 20% result in chromosomal abnormalities, usually trisomy 13 & 18. So then I looked up that and saw that most babies with those abnormalities do not make it to live 1 year. 90% won't make it one year!!!!!!!! OMG so now I am completely freaking out. I have the quad screen next week at the perinatal center. THey will test the size of the back of the neck for down's and pay close attention to the cyst on the umbilical cord. Has anyone esle gone through this or know anyone who has gone through this? I am thinking I may want to do the CVS test to find out for sure because I can not handle all of these what ifs.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. XOXO

Hazel – I laughed so hard when you talked about your DH wanting you to hurry up and get in the car. It sounds so much like my DH! If you are reading this, I sure hope the both of you are enjoying yourselves.

Natasha – It sounds like you had a good time with whatever you were able to enjoy at Dells. I wasn’t sure what Dells was at first as we don’t have one in Ohio but it sounds like an amusement park/resort. We have a very, very large amusement park not too far from where we live. I can’t wait until Gabriella is old enough so we can take her there! To answer your question, I sure hope your OB listens to you and provides a light duty protocol. I think it might be wise to also check with your employer because you might be surprised what protocol they might have in place for pregnant women. I am sure this question has come up before. I just read your next post; yeah for hearing the HB!

Katie – I hope your aquarium duty is done. You definitely stay busy! I just read your next post; I was just telling my DH that for the last few days, I have been so sleepy. I have been yawning in everyone’s face lately. I think it also has something to do with the lack of sleep I have been getting every night because I have bathroom duty every 2 hours to urinate.

Stephanie – I think your babies will be just fine at 35 weeks. I know I mentioned my nephew before; well my sister went into labor with him at 33 ½ weeks. So they did everything possible to put off the delivery so his lungs would mature. They did also give my sister steroid IM to help his lungs out. He was still born at 34 weeks and his lungs were just fine. He didn’t even need to go to the NICU. I am sure your OB wouldn’t do anything to put the babies’ lives in danger.

Yes, it does seem like the time is going a little quicker than before for me. I looked at my ticker again and I can’t believe I will be 19 weeks this week. I hope the upcoming weeks go by even faster … lol.

Babyluv – So you already have a timeframe for your showers. I was just thinking about the same thing. I think I will have mine in the beginning of September. Actually, I was thinking about having it on my birthday, which is September 4th.

Gi – Yeah, it is getting harder and harder to shave my legs in the shower also. I noticed it a few weeks ago. I find myself holding on to things in there hoping I don’t fall.

PA_FA – I am so sorry you doc appointment didn’t go better. But, don’t freak out yet. There is a very good chance that nothing is wrong at all. So try to think positive until you hear otherwise, which you won’t. Just curious, how did they find the cyst? Was it through u/s?

AFM – Thank you ladies for the understanding for my rant the other day. I shouldn’t let things like that get to me but I guess I am just so over protective over her. I have been doing pretty well over the last few days. My u/s on Monday went well on Monday so I am just looking forward to our anatomy scan in two weeks.

PA - oh honey I'm sorry that you're freaking out, "Dr Google" is sometimes worse than having no info at all. Theres no need to get all stressed out over a cyst. Its not good for the baby when you get all worked up. The quad screen is the same as the NT scan (Nuchal Translucency) its an uber - detailed u/s and a detailed blood panel as well. But you wont get the b/w results for about a week. Its a highly accurate test, if the baby will cooperate, mine was done at 13wks, and lasted well over an hour because Savannah refused to budge and made it really hard for the sonographer to get her measurements. They had to do mine vaginally since they werent getting a good visual abdominally, but that was no fun having an hour long wand up there. When they were done, she just said that my OB will get the results and let me know, so waiting for the results was sort of nerve wracking - make sure you ask how long for the results so you can make an OB appt, for soonafter since you're worried. Did your OB seem concerned? - xoxoxo

Ladies - I have a question for you ladies who are ahead of my pregnancy. I started to have some sharp shooting pain through my uterus tonight. I know I will have round ligament pain because Gabriella is growing. But, I am not sure this is round ligament pain. Have you experienced this same or similar symptom? I am not sure if this is something I need to report or if it’s normal. I don’t think I am having any cramping or contractions with it.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Angela

angela- with your loss of Ashley I personally would report anything that felt weird. My OB said today that a woman's intuition was the best tool. I hope it is just growing pains and Gabriella is just fine!!!!! :D

Katie- Did me ob seem worried....um yeah. He said that we will have to monitor this very closely to make sure that it didn't get too big and cut off the blood supply or cause baby to slow developmentally. He also told me that the perinatal center where I will get the NT scan will be very thorough and after the test a Dr will come in immediately to discuss the results with me. So that makes me feel good. However all night DH and I have been looking up umbilical cord cyst and trisomy 13 & 18. I have cried most of the night and he is freaked out and doesn't want to talk about it any more. I know I can't worry and that it is literally out of my hands. Still, it sucks!!!!! I've been reading other forums where these ladies find out about these huge birth defects like no kidney function and no lung function and they still carry to term. I just can't imagine that. Even now at 11 weeks I am already attached to this baby. I talk to it, I rub my tiny belly and I find myself waking up in the middle of the night with my hand on my belly. I just don't know what to do. I know there is nothing for me to do but wait.
Thanks for listening ladies. I'm off to London tomorrow. :?
