Chris--I'm thinking of you and praying for positive results.

Miyaya--I think that fostering a child is a great idea. Hannah isn't a foster child, but she could have been. She's my niece's daughter. Hannah's mom called me one day and said that she needed me to come and get her or DSS was going to put her in foster care. I left the next day from ATL and went to WV. I went to DSS and it was true. I filed papers for custody and went to court 3 weeks later. Then I left WV with a kid. It was so strange. That was almost 6 yrs ago. It's the best thing I've ever done. I can't say that it was or has been easy, but kids never are. She's a great kid. She still talks to both her parents on the phone and sees them when we go to visit. I am so grateful everyday that her mom trusted me to take care of her most precious gift. Most people think that she's selfish for what she did and that she should clean up her life and take her back. I feel like it's the most unselfish act of all. She did what was best for her child. She knows that I will take excellent care of her and she can watch her grow up. Her mom is now in jail and her dad is on home confinement. Who knows what might have happened if she hadn't called me because once they're in the system, it's hard to get them out. Don't give up on your dream of having your own. You can do both! Get some rest. You still have one. I would give anything to be in your shoes right now. At least you have a chance. Take care.

Lou--So glad that you got good news! You must be so relieved!

Hi girls...
First of all...I want to sincerely apologize for my last update. After re-reading it...I realized that I came off as bragging...and I honestly didnt mean to come off that way. I'm just very excited ...because we expected alot less of my ovaries. Anyhow, I am sorry.

Chris...still holding out hope for you. Know that I am praying very hard right now. I am so heartbroken right now for you...cause I can just feel your pain. Your quote was one of the reasons that we have continued on...YOU gave me inspiration and hope. I see that you have removed your quote. A girlfriend of mine just delivered her little boy after 14 IVF attempts in April. I know you say that you are done now...but I am secretly hoping that you will just take a break for now...and then "Never give up on something that you can not go 1 day without thinking about". Even if it means turning to foster, adoption, donor, surrogacy, etc. I pray that someday you will have your much deserved child in your arms no matter which direction you take. I hope I am not out of line by saying all of this...I am just sooo hoping that your dreams will come true...since you have been such an inspiration to me and you didnt even know it.

Lou..hoping and praying that your E2 numbers look great and everything is on track. Keep us posted. Yes, I am on microdose lupron flare protocol...it is like my magic. My doc is a genius.

Karin...Wow! Your story is incredible an inspiring! You are such a terrific person to do what you have done. Kudos to you.

Miyaya...You are PUPO...hold on to hope!!! Fostering to adopt is an awesome idea...if this doesnt work out. BUT IT WILL!!!! I dont even want to talk about the what ifs, but want to say this anyhow. Perhaps your doctor would consider doing as Ghost suggested and do it for free as well. I think he owes you that much. I would definitely bring it up to him if this cycle doesnt work and tell him what you think and want to try and see what he says. He is invested at this point to get you pregnant...and may just listen.

Hi and Welcome Cake...Sounds like you are doing very well and will trigger soon. We are also close in our cycles. Let us know your E2 level when you find out.

Amanda...have you poas? lol

Ugh, the side effects I have going on here. I dont remember having this many strong side effects before. I have had a killer lupron headache since last Friday. Ovaries that hurt and are enlarged to the size of basketballs, as of last night. Sore boobies, as of this morning. Stomach cramping and (tmi) diarrhea all day today. Does anyone else have diarrhea or do I have the stomach flu going on as well? I couldnt even take Zach swimming today...cause I'm so sick. Extremely tired and moody. I normally have insomnia...but am napping everyday with Zach and sleeping through the night for once. That's actually a good side effect, lol. The moodiness though...OMG. DH cant even look at me without me jumping down his throat the 2 hours a day that I get to even see him. Zach (lucky for him) doesnt talk yet...so he is out of my firing range. lol  Anyone else have diarrhea and stomach cramping...or do I also have the stomach flu?

I have been trying to catch up on here but there are sooo many different posts and people I thought I would just catch everyone up to speed. I went to RE last week and had my baseline Ultrasound. Right ovary is calmed down since the last cycle but the left had 2 small cysts which she wasnt concerned with. I stop my Birth control 8/3 and start all the Estrogen 8/6. Appointment on 8/20 to check lining and tentative Frozen Transfer Date of 8/24.

Good Luck to everyone, and congrats to those of you with good results already.

Update: My E2 is 353. The nurse said that was good and I will be in on Friday for another U/S and BW. Then they will go from there. I dont see how it could be good if I need to be around a 1000-2000 and its Wednesday already. I have been trying to figure this out but I cant grasp it. They reduced my dosage to 5 units of Lupron, 150 of Menopur and 75 units of Gonal F. They are still saying ER on 8/2, maybe. We shall see!

miyaya - I'm sorry to hear about your embie. I didn't have great ones my first two cycles. They looked good at day 3, then fell apart when we transfered on day 5. still not sure why. I DO think the foster to adopt program is a great idea. My two are from Russia and Kyrgyzstan (so obviously straight up adoption in my case) and I couldn't imagine life without them. People don't even question if I will love these babies more because they are "mine"...maybe because I get all crazy mama bear on them if they even suggest Alex and Scarlett aren't mine! Yes, they do have another family somewhere and I would never deny that, but they are still every bit mine. Every child is so different and I will pray you will find the right path for your family. Obviously I hope this IVF works as well for you!

Karin - I am in total agreement with your feelings towards Hannah's parents. I feel the same way about my kids' birthmoms and we talk about them often. Even though Alex is from Russia, his actual ethnicity is Uzbek and we believe his mom moved back home to Kyrgyzstan after she had him. Not sure if you remember all of the news in the past months, but there was an uprising in Kyrgyzystan (where Scarlett is from) and a lot of the Kyrgyz men were killing off Uzbeks. All I could think was, "Oh my goodness...Scarlett's family could be killing Alex's!" It was such a sobering, sad, sad thought. We had hired a searcher to find their parents last year, but he never went (thankfully we never paid). I have all but given up hope now that we will ever find Alex's family with all of the chaos, though I think we will still try. I think it's a good thing when kids can have contact with their birthfamilies (most of the time anyway).

babyluv: I think it's great you adopted 2 children!! Now you're having twins which is wonderful. How are you feeling?
I have a question for you at my 14dp3dt my Beta was 281, my 16dp3dt my Beta was 577,my 23dp3dt my beta was 6906 - they saw 2 sacs, 1 had a yoke the other didn't. Do you think it's too early to tell? When was your u/s & 3rd Beta done?
Did you know you were having twins? I guess I'm just not sure if it's twins or a single. I go for my next u/s & bw on 8/5.

No we did not go to Wal-Mart last night :( but we are going today. I will post as soon as POAS!! LOL I am sure it is too early but I can't help myself. I think DH doesn't want me to do it too early bc he is afraid I will be upset if it negative. He did make me pancakes this morning at 4:30 and we laid in bed watching movies, so that made up for the no wal-mart run..lol

Hi All,

I'm completely new to not only this board, but to IVF. This is my first cycle and we're going for IVF with PGD between a doctor here in Los Angeles and ReproGenetics in NJ. I started my stims on Monday (decreased to 5 units of Lupron, 150 Gonal-f, and Menopur). I'm already nauseous and tired with headaches and my boobs are aching. Is it normal to feel all of this so early on? I'm looking at an e/rl next Friday or Saturday if all goes well with my u/s and b/w on Friday and HCG next week. Cross your fingers for me?

We finally have our first appointment scheduled for 8/4. Looks like I'll be more of a fall cycle group. Fall begins around 9/21, right? Anyway, I'm glad to have our first appointment. Of course, they have to have a normal pap w/in the last year and mine is over a year old. I called to get in with my doc and can't get in until 8/27. I'm going to call a few times each week though and see if there are any cancellations and I can get in earlier.

We did find out that our insurance won't cover any of the IVF so we are going to be totally self-pay. OUCH! I don't even want to think about the expense of all of that.
Me 39 "normal"
Dh 49 problem with tubes so no sperm "gets out" (basically like a vasectomy)

currently in 1st IVF -- BCP until 10/3, currently on Lupron. Suppression check 10/8. Start stims 10/9.

Tammy -- You are 42 and have great ovaries.... so it's OK to celebrate a little. We love good news on this board and I am happy for you so far. No worries! As for my symptoms... I get strange "flu-like" symptoms from Follistim complete with fever, chills, and body aches. Luckily it only lasts a few hours. I give my injection in the evening and feel crappy the next afternoon from around 12-5PM. I also have some stomach cramping and my ovaries ache. No diarrhea though.

Blairwh58 -- Glad your baseline was good and you are on for a FET 8/24.

Cakes-- Your e2 could rise pretty quickly near the end. Don't worry! I know it's hard because I'm the queen of worrying...lol. My motto is if RE isn't worried, then I'm not worried. Of course it only works when you get to see RE.

Ester -- Hooray for the FedEx man making a second pass and delivering your baby-in-a-box. My news today is pretty good, thanks for asking. Read on below for the details!

Amanda -- Good luck on POAS!!! But please don't take it to heart if it's negative... it really could be too early. Keep us posted!

Lauren318 -- Welcome! Of course we'll cross our fingers for you. And yes, your symptoms are normal. Good luck!

AFM -- OK, clinic called. My E2 is 544 today (up from 400 yesterday) LH is 0.6 and progesterone is 1.3. RE doesn't want me back until Friday. I'm continuing 450 of Follistim and increasing Menopur to 150. I started Ganirelix last night and am of course continuing that. On the Right side I have 8 follies measuring 14,14,12,10,10,9,8,7 and on the left side I have 5 follies measuring 17,13,12,9,8. RN thinks I will have ER on Monday. I guess RE isn't concerned about my big 17. When the nurse measured it, one cross section was definitely 20 and the other was 17. I thought they averaged the two numbers, but now I'm not sure if the final was 17. Does anyone know how they calculate size from this???

Lou - I think the follicle grow a mm a day maybe? Yours are sounding good though!

Lauren 319 - there are 3 of us now! Growing up Lauren was so uncommon. I could never find things with my name on it. Now I hear of a lot of Laurens! You are in the right place. Everyone hear is very helpful if you have any questions. Tonight is my 7th night of shots. I go tomorrow for blood and u/s. Based on my last cycle I think my ER will be next Thursday Aug 5. So we are close! Good luck!
