Hi girls,

Steph yes we do have play pens but they are still the old boring type and not near as nice or convenient as those pack n'play ones i wont need to get one until she is can sit on her own. About your shower seems like you may just get involved, perhaps your friend didnt realise at the time her bugdet would be lower than anticipated i am sure it will be ok, we dont do anything like that here they sound like fun!!

Natasha i think you are right to stick to Nov. esp since they have already had showers before but i am sure they would have been more eager to agree to yours in Nov. if they knew your journey, we told everyone about ours at 12 wks but each to their own.

Katie funny you should mention pedicures as i have just tried give myself one for tomorrows wedding! Oh boy do i regret not going to a salon for a min i actually thought i was crushing Kayla and though jason wont admit it to any one i made him finish painting my nails! No the nursery furniture hasnt arrived yet its 3 wks since i ordered so i will ring on Tues to see whats going on, its coming from the UK so i knew there would be a bit of a delay and strangely enough jason isnt complaining!!! Sounds like Gracie thought you bought her some new toys, my dogs are too lazy to chew or play with toys would you believe it they wouldnt touch my dinner if i put it on the floor and left the room they know they arent allowed to eat food without a command. My poor king charles is recovering from a stroke, he had it over a wk ago but is looking much livlier now half of his face is still paralysed and he drools now cause he has no senstation but at least he is ok.

gi xxx

Where is everyone? It sure is quiet here lately. I wonder what you all are up to? For me, not too much but I have lots of complaints, ha ha. Between the constant heartburn that no amount of zantac & tums will get rid of, being so darn tired all the time, and of course my "cankles" boy, dont I feel pretty?
It actually got worse last night when i was woken up at 3am by the stomach acid that had traveled to my mouth! Ugh its scary to wake up like that, isnt it?
Chris has been working crazy hours this week, so this poor dog isnt getting enough excersise at all, but she has managed to crash into my belly with her giant outside ball a few times, fun yes? I know it isnt harmful & that these babies are totally well protected in there, but it still makes you nervous. And am I the only one who is having a hard time cleaning the floors & baseboards? its gotten so hard to bend all the way over lately. It seems like Savannah is kicking me less often, but when she does kick it feels stronger, anyone else?

Steph - Yippeeee for your shower tomorrow! I know it was less than convienent to have the "shower girl" wait til the last minute to give you a heads up on her ideas, but at least you were able to get involved and salvage your party. No, I dont think you're being picky at all, I mean if this will be your only shower, you want it done a certain way. It just sucks that she waited sooo long to be open with you, is all. I'm sure that a little added snacks and hopefully Andrew hitting the bbq will perk it up, and it sounds like your other friend with all the shower experience will get the games going too. I hope you have a blast, I cant wait to hear about it! I'll bet Alex is all over it too! She must be getting so excited that they're almost here. You've got a built in helper, and whew you'll need it.
Crap! I was hoping it wouldnt come up as Afganistan! What? I can hope right? I knew it wasnt likely, but still... Alright lets just focus on the fact thats its 12 months and thankfully not 18+ I just get worried about you being out there all alone is all. Ah, it would have been so much easier if you'd already been cleared for CO. And WTF??? Andrew's mom? Ummm, yeah fuckered up is right! Thank God he was smart enough to go into the service young and get the hell out of MT! Oh, i 'm so happy to hear that your brother is doing and recovering nicely. Whew, that was a relief! Ok twin mama, you have a fantastic time tomorrow!

Natasha - Well girl, you've got lots of pregnant company alright, but no I dont think you should share your party or change your date. Its your first baby and you need to have a special day to yourself, and being that they both already have had babies, i think you should get first pick. We dont really have family, either of us, but all friends & cowrkers know how flipping hard it was to get pg in the first place. Maybe if they knew, they'd be able to understand why its so important to you a little better? I dont know, just a thought.

Gi - Aw, honey I'm so rry your poor puppy had a stroke, thank God he's doing better now. They are our first children, arent they? Ugh, hope your furniture comes soon, Jason will get through it its so exciting to see the nursery put together finally. Our furniture is together, but no decorations, or clothes put away yet, Chris wants to help decorate ( which reall y means I have to "persuade" his thinking a bit - hahaha) and I've just been too darn tired to start on clothes and linens, so its pretty empty, but I cant wait to see it done and pretty - then i'll post pics. How is your Mam doing? bet she's bought a boatload of cute little things for Kayla! Hi to your Mam - xoxo

Katie - Oh, I hear you on the pedi. I was going to get one tomorrow and I just broke a nail so far down that I am now nervous about getting one! Hmmm...I gave myself one about two weeks ago (my toes chip super fast) and that was interesting...not sure I will be able to do it again! Hope the swelling goes down...and don't feel embarrassed! You're pregnant!

Steph - Oh honey, don't even WORRY about going on a political rant in my personal! I am so, so over politics right now it's ridiculous. I kept nodding my head at everything you were saying. Fingers crossed for an awesome shower tomorrow! I hope you'll be surprised. My first one is in two weeks, but it's being thrown by the same girls who threw my first two showers, so I know it will be fun. It's got to be hard not having any control.

Natasha - AHHH!! That is so frustrating about your sister! I hope it all works out, but don't back down! You should have what YOU want!

AFM- So I FINALLY picked out Scarlett's bedding, and of course I went with the one that's on backorder for two months! I decided that it's ok and I'd rather have what I want. Her furniture came in today and it is GORGEOUS!!! I bought her sheets yesterday and threw on a quilt my mom made for me in college for the time being (her bed is full but the quilt is twin, so it's only temporary). She's sleeping in it now and oh my goodness, it is just so big girl! It would easily be an adult bedroom if I hadn't bought her quilt from Pottery Barn Kids and added in her dollhouse, so I'm glad I went with the bedding I went with.

I have been feeling good...hit the 30 pound mark today! It's so funny because at 15 weeks I had put on 10 pounds, and now in the last 8 weeks I have put on 20! Right on track for my size and where I should be, but I'm hoping I don't go too far over the 50 pounds I originally wanted to put on. So far it's all in my belly, and by the end of the day my back is definitely hurting if I do too much, but doing well other than that. I have an OB appt on Tuesday but it's just a regular check up with the midwife (OB is out of town). After that I should be seeing the OB and my peri exclusively, I would assume so anyway.

Stephanie – I am so sorry to read that Andrew is going to be deployed … that really stinks! But, I am happy that he will be there for the birth of the babies and 9 months after that! But, I know you are such a strong woman that you will make it through with smooth sailing.

Just read your next post about your shower. No, I have to agree with you; I want my shower to be nice as well. But, don’t worry; I am sure it will be a big hit!

Natasha – Yeah, I have had those back pains on and off since I was 6 ½ weeks pregnant. The pain is usually from pressure of the uterus growing and pushing on the sciatic nerve. Sometimes, I use pillows for my lower back if I am sitting up on the coach and I just try to stay off of the nerve, which helps most of the time. Yeah for them putting you on restrictions, finally someone with some sense, right?

Oh, I totally understand your point about your shower. I think you are correct; this is your first baby and it is your time. If I were pregnant at the same time as my sister, I would try to be a little more considerate if it would be her first. So, if you want your shower in November, then that is when it should be. Yes, my family on my side and my DH’s knows what we went through to get pregnant as I have lost so many babies before and they were there. My family is extremely close and they would be hurt if I went through something so stressful and didn’t include them. I understand that this is not the case with every family so you did what is best for you and your DH!

Gi – I hope that you are doing well. The pack-n-play is so convenient. I ordered one a few weeks ago but it was in back order so I am waiting until they receive more and then ship it to me.

I am so sorry to hear about your dog having a stroke. I hope he continues to get better.

Katie – Yes, I am with you … I certainly miss the spicy foods. Thanks for the understanding and support of my rant … lol. I knew you ladies would understand.

Babyluv – You sound so excited about the bedding and furniture! You ladies are infectious because I have been so fearful of planning anything and with you guys around, I finally have become just as excited as you ladies are. I am so happy to have everyone in my life!

AFM – Well, the pains that I asked you ladies about a few days ago has increased in frequency but I am ok with it because I know it is just round ligament pain. I didn’t have this as much w/ Ashley but they say every pregnancy is different. I have started to use my pregnant belt to help with the weight of my uterus. I am usually ok when I wake up and go to work but when I return home in the evening, I am extremely sore and aching throughout my uterus. She is getting so very big and I am only halfway through the pregnancy … lol. Oh well, as long as she is healthy that is all that matters. So my DH and I have decided on a location and date for Gabriella’s shower. It is will be in his hometown, which is only a few miles away. We are going to rent out a hall because my sister is planning the shower and she was going to have it at her house but I think there will be too many people that we want to invite so it will be too crowded. We will wait to officially register at any stores until we have our anatomy scan to be sure it is a girl, which is schedule for Monday, August 9th. So, the shower will be either on my birthday, which is September 4th or the Saturday afterwards September 11th.

I hope that you ladies are enjoying your weekend!

Hello fellow mommies! My shower went pretty well. There was a decent turn out of people. Though of course there were things I wish could have ran more smoothly. The host and her host assistant (she had another neighbor helping her) were both late to the shower. No decorations got hung up and the food was delivered but nothing was put together when my first few guests arrived. So I had to ask my friends to help because even after the two hosts showed up, they were both in the kitchen and no one was working on decorations. Not a big deal, the girls that were already here were the ones who wanted to help anyway. Ok, so past that... the games started off slow. The hosts were afraid there wouldn't be enough prizes for any ties so they used extra games to use as tie breakers. Not a bad idea when on a budget, but very boring for the rest of the guests. It took three games to come up with one winner for one game because of two ties, then another tie breaker later one as well just to end up with three extra gifts at the end. lol So then they had to make up more games to get rid of the extra prizes. There was a lot of food, more then what I was told would be there so that was good. Even though there was a lot of food it still went fast! I think some people came on an empty stomach plus there were for pg girls including me here. lol Though all I got was a few cheese and crackers. No biggie since afterwards I had a huge borrito from Chipotle (love that place!) Anyway, so the guys were hanging out outside, playing darts, a few were drinking (none paying attentiong to their kids). When it came time to do the presents and cake, the host was suppose to get Andrew. She said he was playing darts and I assumed that meant he was too enthrawled in the game to come in. Though I come to find out that from Andrew when she went out there she said nothing to him. She walked in front of him while he was playing, almost got stabbed in the head with his dart and said, "Oh you guys are playing darts." Then came back in. I did mention she has ADD right? lol So he missed the presents and cake and was pretty upset about that. As far as the happiness of my guests, everyone had fun. I added a scavenger hunt to the games last minute and that was a hit. It got everyone moving around and using their noggin. lol I got a lot of compliments on that one. As far as gifts, we did very well. We got the stroller that matches the car seats, about 5 people pitched in on that one and I am greatful though I already knew thanks to one girl who can't keep a secret. lol So when a big box came in I was asked to make a guess and I said... Awww, you got me a stripper!!! lol We got a lot of diapers (thank god) and a lot of other things from the registry though not off of the registry. I will have to go delete a few things. :) All in all it was a good party because of the people I was surrounded by. Though I did want to choke a few guys for not watching their kids! One soldier came (wife was working) with his kids. He had a 6 year old watching a 2 year old. He wasn't and she was all over the place. I finally lost my cool when she started to try and destroy one of the baby swings. She was trying to rip the skirt off it, ripping and pulling at the mobile like she was really trying to pull it off. Then when I go over there to fix it, I see a garden piece in the swing. She went and put one of my garden decorations in there. I am not a neat freak (though I get told I have OCD all the time by friends) but putting something that was laying in dirt and crawling with bugs somewhere where my baby is going to be... yeah I went out to tell him to watch his kid. It was the last straw. Though as soon as I did we was just driving away. Guess he saw me coming? LOL One of the other guys (same one I complained about before that gives his 20 month old beer) wasn't watching his either. Kept trying to throw him in the house while the games were going on. Also found out from the guys that he was letting him run out in the road, the kid lost his close at some point too as well as a bag of a guest's dart tips. Then the kid comes in and rams a chair into my 52 inch tv 3 times! Oh joy joy. It was kind of funny though... one of my guests looked at the mother of the demon child and said, "My son is a perfect ANGEL compared to yours." Yes, she emphasized the word angel. lol Gosh... I am rambling again aren't I?? I have a bad habit of that. I really wish I could have spent the day in all of your ladies company as well!

On a seperate note... I might call labor and delivery and ask them about these braxton hicks. I have been getting them a lot more frequently and even had them quite regular two days ago. They stopped, but they keep coming back. I would say I have about 10 or so (maybe more) a day for the past three days. Scary. :?

Claudia - Thank you and glad you will be back to a normal schedule now!

Angela - Looks like deployment could really be anywhere from April to July so we will see what happens. I can't wait till your scan. Think you might post a picture? It's exciting you are getting to the point for a shower now!! :)

Babyluv - Glad we see eye to eye on the whole political outlook. No soldier or person who supports troops should vote for him again. Can't wait to hear how your shower goes! So you settled on the bedding that will take forever to get huh? lol Well at least it is exactly what you want and you aren't settling. I have a hard time settling too! Congrats to Scarlett being a big girl!! :)

Katie - Andrew ended up not hitting the grill at all. lol Oh well. There was a lot of food but it did go fast. Yup, Afghan it is. This tour better be a 12 month tour! That is what the president promises but that could just be more smoke up our asses. If it is only 12 it will be he shortest tour yet. 3 deployments thus far and 4 years over in the biggest ashtray in the world. His dress greens are loaded with 7 deployment stripes while his years in service is sadly lacking at only 2. Funny you mention him joining the service to get away, that is exactly why he did what he did. He joined at 17. I feel you on the heartburn. I have to just give up on sleep and take a nap late in the morning now to catch up. I am up every morning at 5am not able to go back to sleep because of heartburn! Poor fur baby doesn't have daddy to play with as much. I am sure running into your belly is fine. Heck, I run into things with mine and I also have Rizzo jumping on it all the time trying to snuggle and get comfy. As far as baseboards. Get yourself a swiffer duster that extends if you don't already and use that, don't worry about scrubbing them. As long as they are dusted they won't gather dust and get sticky to the point where you have to scub. Floors, I use a steamer. I don't get on my hands and knees for that anymore. Now, as far as Savannah... she has less room to move around in that belly of yours so you will experience more actual movement then flutter kicks now. This is normal. You will notice her sleep routine now and until you deliver. Remember, babies do sleep a lot so don't be concerned if she doesn't move for a while. She is moving, just sometimes not where you can feel. I was in the bath the other day watching my belly and I saw my stomch move but didn't feel it. I didn't even think that was possible. lol :)

Hello my old cycle friends!

I am just stopping by to say I miss the heck out of you guys and give you an update on my current cycle....

I trigger tonight! ER is Tuesday morning. Today my E2 = 1530 and on the Left I have 21,17,16,13, On the Right I have 18,15,15,14,13. These measurements were taken on a 3D ultrasound machine which measures about 2 mm smaller than a 2D machine. I do have 4 others in the 11-12 range which will likely be able to be retrieved but will be hit or miss as to whether or not they reach maturity. I'm pretty happy. The most mature eggs I've ever had is 5 and this is definitely better than that. I am hoping with everything I've got that I get 7-9 MATURE eggs. And will some help from God, all of them will fertilize and develop into beautiful embryos!!!! LOL... I know, I'm being greedy. RE had me give myself a half dose of Follistim and Menopur this afternoon (225 units/75 units). Fingers Crossed!!!! I'm terrified and so excited at the same time.

Stephanie -- Glad you had a great baby shower!

Claudia – It’s good to hear from you again and know that you are doing well! I have to say that I am happy you will not have to stand on your feet so long coaching swimming but I know you enjoyed it. You are going to have so much fun w/ your baby swimming!

Stephanie – I love it … your shower sounds so very interesting!!!! I can’t believe that those guys weren’t watching their kids. It sounds like they just wanted to have a good time! But, I knew that you would be able to make the best out of your shower. So, now you can breathe a sigh of relief and wait for the rest of us to stress over our showers … lol.

Lou – Oh, I am so happy that you are well on your way. ER on Tuesday is so very exciting! I can’t wait for you to come back and join us permanently. By the way, I just love the pictures of you and your DH. Your vacation looks like so much fun. Where was your picture taken? Please keep us updated on your progress with this cycle!

AFM – Ladies, you probably will not believe this but I just got around to ordering a Fetal Doppler! I know you ladies sent the information to me about 2 or 3 weeks ago but I have been happy because I have felt her moving pretty much daily. But, she must have been very tired this morning because when I woke up I didn’t feel her until around 1 or 2pm. So of course, I immediately got on the computer and ordered a Doppler. It should be here on Tuesday.

So, I have been just working on the details for the shower. My parents were nice enough to chip in for the rental of the hall and one of my college friends offered to help my sister plan my baby shower. So, now we just have to wait until the anatomy scan to find out for sure it is Gabriella in there instead of Ezra (my husband’s name) to get the ball rolling.

Hi Ladies,

Wow, I missed sooo much !! I couldn't get online for a couple of weeks now - we moved. So the whole packing, unpacking has left me exhausted...I can barely keep awake. FYI, I am still trying to catch up with details of everyone one - so glad to know all you ( and the babies) are doing great :)

AFM, The good news is 20 week anatomy scan showed the Placenta Previa has almost disappeared !!! So I can slowly get back to normal activities again. Since the move I hardly get time to get to the thread..so personals will take for ever. I haven't forgotten that I signed for our baby shower thingi online - just need a lil more time to get to it..your gifts will arrive :)

If I am unable to catch up with each one of you..please know I am thinking and praying for all of us - for healthy babies and smooth deliveries !! I will surely write whenever I get a chance to get online.

Take care.

Hi everyone -

Babyluv - once you fall in love with a certain design/pattern everything else pales by comparison, I 'll hope that they deliver earlier than 8 wks though!
Aw, Scarlett is in a big girl's room now, she must be loving it! Pottery barn kids is who screwed up my fabric letters, which wasnt the big deal, it was that their customer service dept seems to be clueless. I'm hoping that your order goes toally smooth for you & little Scarlett. How are you feeling twin mama?

Steph - Yippeee for a shower day that went well, thanks to you being on top of things  , a few hiccups were to be expected, but ugh for men who thought they were dropping their littles ones at a day care service - umm yeah, a guy who's too busy drinking beer to notice his kid is trying to destroy your big screen? I'd say that qualifies as a demon child! Sorry your decorations werent hung up before guests arrived, but it sounds like your friends understood. Yippeee for loads of diapers and your stroller though! Update your registry when you get a chance so I can join in on your shower party please.I'm not having one so I'll just live vicariously though your showers - hee hee. And today is the 2nd, so I am patiently waiting to hear that your dad's wife ordered your furniture  Whats up with the woman who went out to get Andrew and somehow forgot to get him?? its Andrew's only baby shower too, for pete's sake! Well hmm, yeah, I'd lose it to see a garden decoration, dirt and all be put in my swing too. Thar was a smart guy to get the hell out of your way before you got ahold of him! Thank goodness for removable, washable swing seats though. We put our swing together yesterday and as sweet as it is, boy the music is crappy! Chris's first reaction was to go and download lullabies for the ipod to bose route. Good thing he thought of that, since my first idea was to go buy more toys with better music! haha. Yeah, Savannah is definitely kicking less often lately, but when she does its so much harder I notice. they feel like she's trying to get my attention or something - it works too! - xoxo

Angela - Glad to see that you're busy planning your shower, isnt it so refreshing to get to the point where we can actually enjoy the fun parts of pregnancy? yeah, me too with the nonstop heart burn- and its not just spicy food, I get heart burn from say toast and cottage cheese, its just part of everyday, I guess. Did you get your deliveries yet? I havent bought a pregnancy belt, but if I'm on my feet for too long by the end of the day my etire lower abd is tender all the way across, but with the hours you put in, it can only help you feel better.

Gi - - Yay for Jason helping you with pedi painting! Shhh, we wont tell anyone! :D I dont trust Chris to paint walls, so my toes would be out of the question - hahaha. Where's your furniture already?

Claudia - Yippee for not being out in the hot sun on your feet for hours anymore! We have missed you!

Lou - I'm stalking your cycle on the summer thread! Hooray for ER tomorrow! I'll bet by now you are sooo ready for that - the worst part of stimming is always the last few days when you just want to feel normal again - like ok enough - get these follies out already! I loved your pics, you take such good photos, and your DH is a doll! it sounds like your cycle went great and you've got lots of healthy follies this time - I hope your ER goes nice & smooth tomorrow, and I cant weait until you;re back over here, girl! I cant tell you how much I miss you my friend - how did your show go last night ? Did your Roxy enjoy it too? i could never take Gracie to something like that - she loves everyone but drools all over them cause she gets so excited to meet new people - ahh, life with a mastiff, right? - xoxo

AFM - It was a pretty quiet weekend, but I keep knocking out on the couch because sleeping at night has become so hard, between waking up 2-3 times to pee, then my sinuses decided to drain the last few days - ugh theres some fun, and of course all the weird pgdreams- so yesterday I sat down for 5 mintues and passed out to wake up at 7pm, WTH? we didnt end up eating dinner until 9pm - and you know how that really helped the heart burn, right?

Katie - Yes, shower was great except for two guys who were too lazy to watch their kids and the host not getting Andrew when she said she was. Dad's wife didn't get the dresser/changer and crib yet. Andrew is getting ancy about this since he has this bad feeling the babies will come early. I think he is just getting the nesting type feeling or maybe all the BH I have been having is making him nervous. lol Glad you are getting some naps in. I am not having much luck with that unless you count staying in bed awake from 5am to 8am to get back to sleep. :)

Emerald - Glad to hear the previa is gone! That is great news!! You just keep getting great news, keep it up! Take it easy moving. I had to do that in my first trimester. I had to be patient since I couldn't do much. Normally the house is put together within the first day or two, not this last time. lol Took about 2 weeks I think.

Natasha - Thank you, shower was good spite a few little bumps. Can't wait till yours! I think your sister is being selfish and should step aside and let you in the spot light. Being on baby number 3, she should have most of what she needs already. I was told that people who have had kids don't get a shower, they get "sprinkles" and it's just a close family and friend affair. Now, if she has a friend throwing her one then that is out of your hands of course, but to be planning one herself and trying to sleal your thunder, hell no. lol You stick your gound and get what you want girl! As far as not telling anyone how hard it was to get pg, that's a personal preference and I don't fault you for it. We told a few but not many. It's too hard to have to explain why we needed IVF and what is wrong with who and going through the heartbreak again. Not to mention some people have big mouths. So nothing wrong with keeping it between you and DH.

Angela - Yes, two guys at the shower were just lazy. It amazes me how they don't watch their kids. I mean, at any time their child could have been hurt, ran over by a car or what have you. All because they wanted to play and not keep an eye on their kid. Not a hard thing to do with us having a fenced in back yard even. Not sure where their heads were at. lol It was good overall and something to remember. Can't wait to hear how yours goes. Sounds like it will be a big affair!!

AFM - Not much other than those pesky BH contractions. My belly feels like an over stretched balloon ready to pop. My whole belly feels tight and achy. I can't walk without waddling or feeling pain in my back now. Yes, back pain... wasn't really an issue till now and now it's every day. Sleeping is becoming more and more difficult. Joy Joy! lol The babies are always moving around and it seems more so since their eyes are suppose to be open now. I wonder if they can see each other? The kicks are nice and hard too. Though I don't mind those at all. :) Even throughout the night it is the one thing that doesn't keep me up but more helps calm and sooth me back to sleep. All this being uncomfy is just a part of making sure they are ok and I will take it as long as I have to. I can't wait till next week. I am curious how much they will estimate their weight. I am guessing based on last time, they should be around 2 pounds each by now. That is unless they have started to slow down a bit. We shall see! Oh, and Alex had a dentist visit today. She had no cavities and a loose tooth that was her last primary tooth. She pulled it out on the way home so my baby girl has no more baby teeth. *sigh* She is gowing up.
