You guys are definitely not alone in hating that iphone commercial! I just saw it last night for the first time and it felt like a giant punch in the gut! UGH!!

Franny - I know you're still hurting terribly but I am really glad to hear you have a new plan with a new RE and you'll be sticking around here for us to cheer you on!

Lou - have fun at Bon Jovi tonight!

lou- great results of your sns today. have a great time at bon jovi tonight :-)

franny- oh sweetie, of course i'll put your name on the list to "waiting to start." please take all the time you need...it's so understandable that you're emotionally tired. i'm really glad you contacted your new re & i truly hope this new plan is the one that will give you & dh the miracle baby you both deserve!

cakes- it's definitely very exciting, yet scary as you get closer. don't you just want to close your eyes & go to sleep when this whole process starts & then wake up to a bfp? or better yet, wake up to a beautiful & healthy baby! you'll be pupo in no time!

ronda- so good to "hear" from you! how are you doing honey?

lauren319- cetrotide is just like ganirelix. is ganirelix part of your protocol? honestly, e2 #s are so different in each woman & they even differ from cycle to cycle.

didi- great doubling on your 2nd beta #!

lauren1171- oh honey, please don't think that! i'm sure everything's going good...this will be your time, girl1

miyaya- i understand your need for wanting to meet w/ re, but please don't give up hope. i will be on an antagonist cycle (& was also the last 2 cycles) ... on the 1st cycle, i had 25 eggs w/ 20 that were mature, they did icsi on all 20, 4 normally fertilized, no ah was done, 2 8-cell embies were transferred, the other 2 didn't make it to blast stage so couldn't be frozen, that was a bfp but ended in a m/c, on the 2nd cycle, i had 21 eggs retrieved, 14 were mature, they did icsi on all 14, only 2 fertilized normally, they did ah on both of them, they transferred them both, 1 was a 9-cell, the other was 8-cell, that was a bfn. i was told that i produced good # of eggs & quality. the fert rate was low due to dh's poor sperm quality. maybe the chromosomal testing will give you some answers. as far as the antagonist cycle, i'm not sure how it works w/ pcos. whatever you decide, i wish you nothing but the best!

Well it must be a bad news streak.
Went for the ultrasound this morning and we could not find a sack (I am at 26 day or 5 wks 5 days) and our HCG only went from 148 to 552 in a week so RE thinks it is the end of the road and that this pregnancy has no chance to develop. We are sooooooo heartbroken!!! This is so unfair!!! Cancer, male factor infertility and now M/C all in 2 years???? I just can't believe it. Such a shock! Our embies were perfect and we have had our genetics checked and there are no abnormalities so I just don't understand. RE said at this point we can stop the PIO or give it another week if that is what we emotionally need. I am just at a loss for words. I am not sure who took it worse DH or I. We don't have insurance and this cycle cost us 16k not to mention 20k we invested in adoption last year which also seems to be in limbo and I just don't know what to think... I wish we had frosties or could go into a new cycle but I know that it is probably not possible right now. I don't know what to think...am I supposed to just sit here and wait for a m/c now?

Miyaya to answer your question my RE also said that Lupron should never be used on me. I was so oversuppressed that we had to use a massive dose of stimms (8 vials a day) to reverse the effect of Lupron and I had to be off of it for my entire stimming

Lauren319 You are not alone! I felt / feel the same way being new to the threads and new to IVF. I immediately began comparing my numbers and results to everyone else and feeling discouraged because it wasn't as much or not in the same window as other people. So, my advice from new person to new person, don't get wrapped up in the numbers or everyone else's results. All of us are different and can't compare one thing to another. I do find it helpful though to get a better understanding of what the numbers mean and how they differ from woman to woman. Best of luck to you.

Franny & Chris My prayers go up for you during this difficult time. It breaks my heart to see the road you two and many others have had to endure over the last few years. I pray for peace in whatever you ladies decide to do from here.

AFM, I've been a little quiet going through this stimming/ER process, trying to keep a PMA. My RE has continued to reassure me that everything is well, and I've progressed great, but as I've mentioned above, I got wrapped up with comparing myself to others and thinking that I'm not doing as well as I would hope. Right off the bat, my estradiol levels were HIGH, 612 my first u/s after stimming 3 days. Was suppose to just make it to 150 So I skipped Gonal F one night, then went to just 75 ui Gonfal F and u/s and bloodwork every two days from there. :( I actually had my ER yesterday (7/29) morning and my estradiol was a little over 4000. My RE mentioned in the beginning that it's better to have more to work with than less... but it just seemed rocky to me. And all along, my follie counts were low and not the 20 or more I was expecting, considering that I'm still young (that's what everyone tells me). So, they were able to retrieve 10 eggs, and 7 were mature enough for ICSI, but after checking this morning 5 are doing what they should while the other 2 have seem to slow down a bit. She said they could most definitely catch up, but we won't know until Sunday morning. So... I'm looking at 5 and a day 3 (Sunday) transfer. I asked the nurse blatantly if this was a good or bad thing because my mind was made up that I should have more eggs to be working with here. She was very sweet and reassured me that though yes they would have liked to see more, the quality of my eggs should be really good and though we want to have some to freeze, we really are just looking for those perfect two. She said it was a rollercoaster ride, but we made it and things look good to receive the desired results. I felt a little better, and then I talked to DH and he made me feel all the way better, because he's just so positive and has been saying all the right things lately (I have to pinch myself sometimes :)). He says 5 with the possibility of 7 is further than we've ever been, and until this day my egg and his sperm have never gotten to say "Hi" in passing, let alone be combined and devloping babies. I laughed at that and told him he was right :) Soooooo.... all in all to say, I am keeping the faith for my miracle and actually looking forward to the 2ww. No injections, no u/s, no trips to the dr... I just want to relax...

Have a blessed day everyone :)

Anna - I am very sorry to hear your news! I had a similar situation, and I know it sucks. It also hurts more when it cost so much!

Franny - I am glad you called the new RE and are going forward. At least you still have a good sense of humor! You started this board so you should not leave of course!!!

Renee - Good luck with your transfer!

Lauren - Everyones E2 level rises differently. And it is based on how many follicles and what size they are. I learn as I go too! This is my 3rd IVF and I still find out new stuff. Today my E2 was 543 and there were 5 decent size follicles so far.

Lou - Thanks! You are right. My nurse said my levels are rising fine based on my follicle growth. I go back Sunday again. That estradiol pill last time was for stopping my period that went on forever. I don't need it this time since everything is normal. At least I finally got an explanation! Have fun at Bon Jovi tonight!!!

AFM - I think I will have ER on Thursday or Friday.

Hi Ladies!

I haven't had alot of time to post the past couple of days. Hannah has kept me busy with sleepovers and friends. Yesterday I worked at the hospital and had acupuncture. Today I am cleaning the house like a crazy lady. DH came home from Silicon Valley on Wednesday night all excited about a house that he saw there. He's been traveling for business for the past 15 years and is tired of it. We've been putting off moving for a while because we love where we live. Long story short, he has put in an offer on the house that he saw and we are putting ours on the market on Monday. I was like...what? Now? We weren't even planning to do anything until I got pregnant and gave birth or unless his company forced him to. One of the realtors from up there emailed him the property and now he's ready to go. So....now I have a million things to do. I have been reading your posts and trying to keep up, but haven't had time to write anything.

I will try to do personals as soon as I can.

*Lots of love*
~Karin~

Franny & Annashop- My heart goes out to both of you. Sending lots of healing prayers your way.

AFM: We got the early response test and last night we got a positive. ( I THINK) The line was so faint you almost couldn't see it, but it was there. My DH wanted me to take another today when I got up, but I had to let the dog out halfway through my sleep cycle and I peed. When I actually got up 3 hrs later I did POAS, but I only had a trickle and the test was negative. So I am thinking I did not have enough pee for the test today, but last night it was positive :)

Dear IVF friends-- I've been in a very hilly place without any phone or internet. My husband and I were away on "retreat" this past week at a monastery of all places (lol). It really was relaxing-- and great food too (very healthy!)
I ate lots and lots of cheese  I just want to say that I have been thinking of all of you and sending up prayers this past week, and it will take me a bit to get totally caught up with everyone.

Anna-- I am so sorry to hear about your loss. There just aren't any words. Sending out wishes for peace, new hope, and healing.

An update on me-- Before we left for our "retreat," I had a 6 week ultrasound. There was a heartbeat-- hurrah! Just one, no multiples here! We are happy, yes, but the nurse cautioned me not to "lose my heart." It's still very early. We had a long talk about my history, and my husband and I requested that the RE continue to see me through the time when I last miscarried, which would be several more weeks. We also requested another ultrasound in 2 weeks...especially as I get closer to the time of the last loss. So, I think they are going to accomodate us...I'd rather hear the positives or negatives from the staff that I already know.

So far so good. I will let you know how the first acupunture appointment goes. I hope that it is okay to continue to post here. I really don't feel confident yet about things, but Monday's appointment was another step along the way.

Franny - I read the previous posts and although I'm new, please know that I'm rooting for you and feel for you.

Lauren - think POSITIVELY. Maybe it's different this time because this time it will WORK!!

Didi - I might have to hop on the organization train. They've upped my dosages and now I don't know wtf I am and how much meds I even have left and if they'll last.

Lou - I'm in no way a medical expert, but common sense would dictate that even if that one follicle is "too" large, it wouldn't have an effect on the others. I wouldn't worry about it at all. Rock out tonight.

Renee - Thanks for the advice. I guess I just wish I knew more about this process. I also guess that I don't really care so much to know anything as long as it works :) Also, 5 is great! You only need one to stick!!!

AFM - I finally saw that stupid iphone commercial and first it made me wanna cry and then i had a sudden urge to throw something. I'm gonna blame it on the hormones...

I went for my u.s and b/w after 5 days of stims and they said that all my follies were still below 10 mm, which didn't seem to bother anyone but me. They didn't even give me my e2 number because they said it was so early that it wasn't relevant and then they upped my dosages to 225 gonal-f, two vials of menopur, and sticking with 5 units of lupron. Everyone in the office reassured me that I was "right on track" and would still have my e/r at the end of next week. Someone please reassure me that they're telling me the truth. I think these drugs are making me a conspiracy theorist.
