Ghost or anyone...implantation

Post by hrobinson »

I was wondering if anyone could give me a general time line for implantation to take place.
I did a 3 day transfer on Sunday, July 18 and was wondering about how long it takes the embryos to implant.
Also, when would be a safe time to do a HPT? I did my trigger shot on Thursday, July 15

TIA

Hi,

I did a 3 day transfer and tested to make sure the trigger shot was gone on day 6 then got the faintest of faintest line on day 7 (had to hold it under a light didnt even tell jason as it was very faint) it got darker every day, not sure about implantion as it can vary but i thought i felt something on day 3 but who know but i think its between 2 - 5 days after a 3 day transfer. Best of luck with those evil sticks xxxx

When I did get pregnant last cycle, I totally felt implantation on days 7, 8, & 9 post ovulation. I had ER on a Wednesday and a 3dt on Saturday and started to feel the implantation on the next Wednesday, exactly a week after ER. Strangely, on day 10, the cramping stopped and I felt NOTHING at all anymore. I did not take a HPT and just waited for my beta which was done 14 dpo. I think in order for the results to be reliable, waiting until 14 dpo is best. You may see a line a day or two sooner but if you're like me, the negative result is a real downer and might not even be correct! I'm starting stims on Saturday and do not plan to take a HPT before my beta.
Good Luck!

Hrobinson - Here is a general timeline following a 3 day and a 5 day transfer.

Good luck!

**this is what happens in a 3dt :

*****transfer this day

1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
2dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
fetal cells
8dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on
HPT

===========

**this is what happens in a 5dt :

-1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
0dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst (transfer day)
1dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
2dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
3dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
4dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
5dpt.. Morula is completely implanted in the lining and has placenta cells &

6dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
7dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
8dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
9dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on
HPT

Thank you so much Angela. Guess I am a little early. I have been having some cramping today off and on and thought maye it could be implantation.

Testing less than a week after a day 3 transfer only wastes the HPT. Even a week is unlikely to be enough, but once in awhile they can see it then. If you get a positive, then congratulations, you are pregnant. If not, then you might want to wait a few days and try again, and again if necessary. Some don't test positive on an HPT even on the morning of a positive blood test. Negatives on the HPT cannot be trusted at this stage.

So sad, tested today and got a negative. I am hoping I am just too early. Official day is Thursday.

6dp a 3dt is way to early don't torture yourself. Implantation just started on day 5.

5dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
fetal cells
8dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

6 days after a day 3 transfer is definitely too early. An HPT will never detect hCG from an embryo at that time. Any positives at that point are residues from trigger shots. I'd give it at least a few more days. Even then, if it's negative, you still might be pregnant.

Cramps and breast tenderness are side effects of progesterone. Some women think there are implantation cramps, but the doctors I work with doubt there are any implantation cramps.
