Blood test back and beta levels are 58 ... I have to go back on Friday for more blood work... is this normal ? They said I am pregnant but it may not be a viable pregnancy so they are doing another test to confirm that the levels go up.

sher- 58 is a fine #! you are pregnant girl! as long as it increases properly, that's what matters...& it doesn't necessarily have to double...a 66% jump is sufficient. i'll be praying for you.

margi- that is ridiculous that they did not apologize...how mean! pma, pma, pma! your little baby is a fighter...everything will work out!

jenny- welcome! i agree about the financial harships of fertility treatment on top of the emotional & physical ones...it is ridiculous...i mean i know it's amazing that science/medicine can do all of this, but the costs shouldn't be what they are. i am very lucky & count my blessings all the time b/c i have insurance coverage...i can't imagine what i'd do if i didn't. sorry about your previous ectopic pregnancy...i'm hoping this works for you! when's your beta?

Beta went from 18 to 12.5, so my RE is considering it a loss. We are to stop all meds and come see him August 31st. We are so heartbroken We don't know if we want to stay with this RE or try a new one. How can they just give up?

And, let me tell you...those kids can eat! lol

Anyhow, I need to go make dinner and then will be back in a bit to do personsals...

so re did trigger last night as well as menopur and follistim, went to re today
follicles look good and b/w came back good so we are on for tomorrow! last yr we got lots and lots of eggs, re not optimistic on lots but is on some, and some is all we need! keep fingers crossed!

Sher: It is too early to worry...as they said, its about the rise. Look at my initial beta! I am not "in the clear yet" by any means, but I am trying to be hopeful. I am going for my u/s on Friday so that will give us some answers as to viability. From what I have read, pregnancy can work with some very low initial beta levels.

AFM, Its been a crazy week at work. I had given my notice 3 weeks ago and I am supposed to start my new job monday...well wouldn't ya know it....they are trying to get me to stay. So I have been going back and forth on my decision. I have to decide by tomorrow and I still have no clue what I will do! Things are so dramatic where I work that I cannot handle the BS BUT I have to admit they have been so supportive of my IF efforts with missing time etc.....So I called my "new boss" and had to explain everything.....she was cool about it. So I think its a non issue but I wonder given everything if its the right time for change despite the BS.....what a quandary! I hope I get a sign in my sleep....I am so indecisive.

On a bad note, DH and I went to the bank about borrowing cash for either another IVF or adoption depending on how my consults go and my chances. NOT good. The economy is so bad here in Maine, thought we have excellent credit with very little debt....we can only take 6K out on the equity of our house b/c we have only owned it for 9 months. We could get another 5K if we borrowed against DH car....but we still fall short on the cash for adoption and IVF. We need about double that for adoption. Why the hell is this so hard? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I guess I need to get creative!

Sorry for the lack of personals today. I'm updating from my phone. Work was super busy today and I got home late. Going to eat something and go to my acupuncture appointment. But I wanted to post an update with my fert report.

Of my 10 eggs, only 7 were mature. I had 2 at 13 mm (15 on a 2D) and i thought they would be but they weren't. So of those 7, 6 fertilized with ICSI. Clinic will call me Friday to let me know if transfer is Friday or Sunday. I'm hoping for Sunday because that means they are doing well. I'm pretty nervous.
