lou - just wanted to pop over and say congrats on the 6 and good luck tomorrow or friday! 3d is great also, don't forget that! I had 16 or 15 fert my first IVF, did a 5dt and no luck. I had about 14 or so fert the second time, 5dt, no luck. I had FIVE fert this last time, INSISTED on a 3dt (as per my RE, but embryologist tried to change it...I wouldn't budge), and not only did two of them take, but two actually made it to freeze. So who the heck knows what happens, but 3dt was good for me (and a lot of other factors as well). I'm thinking about you!

Tammy - Good luck tomorrow at ER! Lots of prayers!

Babyluv...Thanks so much! Good seeing you pop in here. How are you doing?

Klinger...it makes me smile to see you still here. :D

Fitz!!! Oh my gosh! That is so wonderful after that huge scare! Rest up and watch for OHSS signs! I cant wait to hear your fertilization report tomorrow. Woohoo!

Tiger...Are you doing bedrest? Hearing all the info about donors...is very interesting...thanks for sharing.

Chili...I am so sorry that your post got eaten. That has happened to me so many times that now after I have typed a bit...I copy what I have written...just in case. Also sometimes you can hit the back button and refresh your page and get it to come back up...sometimes you have to do it several times, too.

Lou...Yes, I am so much more hopeful now. It seems like my last couple of days of stims 2 yrs ago was like this one too...where all of a sudden my E2 numbers and follicles just jump up out of nowhere at the last minute. Soo glad. I'm now thinking that we will have 2-4 to transfer...expecting that 1 or 2 are not very good quality...if that is the case...we will just put them all back. Fingers crossed.

I cant believe they arent calling you till tomorrow morning...that is not much notice at all. Ugh.

I now remember that yes...Bill was off doing his thing...while I was in there alone. Bill couldnt remember just sitting there doing nothing. Guess cause he wasnt. lol

I just think it is sooo awesome all the things you have done in the ocean. I want to live vicariously through you though...cause I'm afraid of everything in the ocean...and wish I wasnt. We took a free beginners diving class in a pool once with our niece...but I just cant get in the ocean and do that...so we didnt take the actual classes. Whale watching from a boat is more my style. lol We tried snorkeling once in Punta Cana...and saw a huge baracuda...neither one of us could get back to shore fast enough. We didnt go back in again for the rest of the day. We did find a starfish too though...and that was cool. We looked like the biggest babies. lol

I wonder why you are still sore? Are you taking anything for it? Hope you are feeling better soon.

Lauren1171...I will likely be out cold when you go under. So I will be thinking of you till then and saying lots of prayers for us both! Good Luck!!!

I'm not up for personal right now, but I do want to say Fitz - HOLY SH*T.

I just got back from my u/s b/w on my Day 10 of stims and there were 6 follies. 2 at 14, the rest at 10. I don't know what to think. I'm a little bummed cause I know that they have to go through the entire process, through fertilization and biopsy for PGD, not have fragile x (50% chance each one has it), and survive until Day 5. I'm just a little worried. UGH. I'm taking more herbs, drinking more tea, and eating goji berries as we speak. I may cry. I hate this.

It sounds like lots has been going on! I have been so busy lately and stressed that I just have not had a chance to sit and write lately.

I started my lupron shots on July 24 and they are much easier than I thought. I'm beginning to feel like an old pro. I ended my bcp on July 30 and am now just waiting on AF to start. I feel like I have been waiting forever. I'm a little worried that I haven't gotten it yet and am wondering if the lupron has anything to do with it. I plan to call my RE tomorrow if nothing happens just because I am getting nervous. I was hoping to be past this point by now because school starts again on August 23...looks like I'll be going into the school year. I know it will all be worth it if I am successful.

I have read and caught up on everyone, but a little overwhelmed to do personals right now. Please know how much I appreciate the support I have received here and my heart and prayers are with all of you whatever stage you are in...

Hi Ladies!

Can I join you here? I know I'm a little bit late but had a crazy couple of weeks. I had a FET in June which turned out to be chemical-BFN so now I'm stimming away for a fresh cycle. I'm on day8 will probably trigger either tomorrow or saturday. I recognize some of you here and I have been reading along for some time but never had the "let me sit down and write" day.
My fertility history is that I have PCOS I'm 26 and have gone thru 2 IVF cycles and 1 FET (an numerous clomid cycles). I had my daughter from the second fresh ivf cycle.

rebecca- I think i replied to your post one day I was on lupron to, and it took me like 4 days i think to get my period after stopping BCP but RE said to call if i dont get it within 10 days. I never had any cramps AF just showed up one day.

Moorebaby- how did your u/s go? I was looking for you but there was barely anyone in the waiting room and I didnt see anyone that looked like you. Well maybe next time :D

Tammy- i think i recognize your form the "parents" board :), I see your are too going for #2. When is your ER? or did you already have it?

Lauren- dont worry your follies will catch up. On day 6 i had 3 measurable follies today on day8 i had 12 that were over 12mm. They grow fast I will keep my FX for you.

ok time to go take a shower,

I'm excited to get to know you all and have cycling buddies :)

Fitz--Wow! 2 Dozen! You are an egg-making machine! :D Can't wait to hear your fertilization report!

Tiger-- Your words meant so much to me. Just reading your post made me tear up. You are such a sweetheart! Finding a donor has been so difficult. I completely pick each profile apart. I am so glad that you were able to find a donor that suits you and your DH. I have to tell you that because I am basically in his shoes that it's not an easy decision to make. Having to choose someone that you hope to be somewhat like you is so hard. Then you have to deal with giving up the hope of having your own. I am still coming to terms with it. I have come to realize that if I want a child, this is how it has to be done. Sure, I could maybe have my own if I keep at it, but what if I can't? I don't want to look back and say I wish I'd done it sooner. Like you said....everyone has their struggle...and this is mine. Thank you for reminding me and all of the other ladies of just that. This process has made me more patient and understanding of others too. We all have alot to be grateful for and I am truly grateful to be able to share my journey with all of you lovely ladies.

AFM...I had to clean again this morning for a broker preview and leave the house for 3 hrs. Not fun. I called my RE and talked to him about my donor. I hadn't actually told him that we were going to pick one so soon because we didn't know. He gave me some advice on the agency. He advised me to take my time and to be completely sure that there's no rush. He said that before I write the first $5000 check just to retain the girl, that I should have her come to him for a physical evaluation first. He would do an ultrasound and talk to her and give us feedback on his opinion of her. I was supposed to write the check and I didn't. I have to call the agency tomorrow and talk to them about her seeing him first. I do have 2 things that concern me about her. Her mom has strawberry blonde hair and she has freckles. She is absolutely gorgeous in every way. My concern is what if our child would have red hair? How would I explain that? Her hair is blonde from what I can tell in her baby pictures and adult photos. I'm still waiting for photos for the ages of 5-14. My RE said that there's definitely a chance it could happen. Not that I don't like red or strawberry blond, I just wouldn't choose it and I don't think it could happen for us naturally. She has brown eyes...which I have. There's not alot of blondes with brown eyes out there...not that eye color matters that much to me. My DH said that I am so paranoid and that I am could obsess about it forever. He's right....I could. Any advice?

I know that I missed a bunch of you girls. I will catch up with you later. Hope you're having a great day!

dys- yay...i'm so glad you joined us!!! i actually didn't get to uconn until about 8:25...my appointment was for 8:15, but there was an accident farther up on 84, so i was delayed a little. any chance you were wearing a white & pink striped shirt & driving a honda? it was weird b/c as i was pulling into the parking lot i drove past a woman wearing that & we smiled at each other. so you think you'll be triggering tomorrow or saturday? that is great!

amanda1979- i'm so sorry sweetie. (((HUGS)))

sher- good luck on your beta tomorrow...i hope it more than doubles.

rebecca- good to hear from you! sorry you've been so busy & stressed. i hope af comes soon & your re has some answers for you tomorrow. yeah i'll be going a little into the school year as well. teachers go back august 30 & the students go back on september 1st. i will probably have my beta on the 30th or 31st (basing this on my last 2 cycles), which would be ok b/c i can go in late to the teacher days. what do you teach? i teach health/6th, 7th, & 8th grades...love it!

lauren319- i'm sorry about your sns results. what's the re saying?

didi- how are you doing? do you have an u/s scheduled?

margi- good luck w/ the u/s tomorrow...i hope everything looks good!

fitz- wow...you are one egg making machine!!! that is amazing! make sure you watch for those ohss symptoms & drink lots of gatorade! keep up w/ the positive energy & prayers! can't wait to hear the fert report.

lou- i'm sorry you're still a little sore. i'm praying that all of your embabies make it & you get to have a 5dt. if you transfer is tomorrow, good luck! i will post a picture of jazmin this weekend. she was so scared this morning & shaking...we had a really bad thunderstom & she hates them w/ a passion...she was cuddled up w/ me on the bed & shaking uncontrollably...poor thing!

lauren1171 & tammy- good luck at er tomorrow! i will be thinking of both of you!

kbillsy- how did your et go today?

franny- sounds like you have a fun-filled vacation...have fun & enjoy yourself!

i know i'm missing many of you...but just know that i'm thinking of all of you!

afm...had my baseline appointment today. all i can say is that the worrying has already started, lol! another re did my u/s (my re was in a procedure)...she says you have a cyst, your cycle may be delayed b/c you'll have to take bcp's...i'm thinking "great...i start school in less than a month...i waited until the summer on purpose" i told her i had a cyst last cycle & was ok to start. she said she'd go see if my re was out of the procedure yet & let me know what he says. so i get dressed & go out to talk w/ my nurse about my med protocol/schedule. i'm told that my re said that as long as my b/w comes back fine, i can start. so long story short, the nurse called me around 3 & told me that my b/w came back "perfect" & i was cleared to begin...woohoo! did my 1st injection of follistim (175 units) & it was like dh & i are pros at it & do it everyday, lol! i went to my classroom & got something started to get ready for school...so not wanting to go back. i feel like i just left for vacation. tomorrow, a friend & my sil are driving to rhode island to have a girls' day at the beach all day...i'll have to bring my follistim in a cooler. i had a killer headache all day today...the humidity here is so bad!

karin - I feel like it's almost a blessing that you have all of this house stuff going on. I know it's crazy making, but it gives you something else to obsess over. as for what i would do in your situation, I have NO IDEA. I mean, I guess it depends on a lot of things. are you really set on not telling your child about the donor? do you have ANY red hair in your fam? any freckles? I personally love red hair, but I don't know. I guess I'd want as close to me as possible. I suppose I wouldn't really want a blonde because it would be virtually impossible, but not because of the explanation to him/her. I think that part of me would want to look at my child and think it was possible that he/she is mine and blonde hair wouldn't cut it...although my nephew's blonde...UGH I just don't know.

sher - good thoughts to you for tomorrow!!

moorebaby (esther?) - see? my dancing worked!! I've now decided that as I'm doing my injections, DH has to dance in the kitchen. It's worth it just to see the booty dance. DRINK WATER!!! So happy you're back on track!!

lou - when do we find out about your transfer? in the morning???

lauren and tammy - SO MUCH LUCK tomorrow. Post when you're feeling up to it.

AFM - the nurse called and said that they're lowering my gonal-f bc my e2 was 962 with 6 follicles all 14 and under. I go in on Saturday morning for a possible Sunday/Monday trigger. I know I'm being a brat and that people (many of you) have had it worse (i.e. not even getting this far in the process), but it's so hard for me to keep my chin up, especially because I know what these embryos have to go through to get back to me and that some of them will have fragile x. I hate this. I'm hoping that what I hear from you guys about things doubling in a day can happen to me too. I may need it. I'm 30, so maybe all of them will be mature and survive and a miracle happens and none have the stupid disorder.

acupuncture tomorrow. goji berries, raspberry leaf tea and a bunch of chinese herbs in the meantime.

aaaaaahhhhh.

Tammy - good luck with your ER tomorrow! Hopefully it will be your lucky number 6 :D My husband was in for the ER with me. Maybe it varies by clinic on if they allow it or not. I was relieved to have him in there so someone could see what was going on since I was out cold.

Ester - glad to hear AF finally came and that you were able to start your shots today! Scary that shots can be exciting for us...

Lou - congrats on the 6 embies! I'm sure your transfer will go just fine with either 3day or 5day.

Amanda - SO sorry to hear your news - hang in there and try to stay positive

Fitz - I can't believe you had 24 eggs - that is crazy!! Congrats - sounds like you will have enough frosties for all of us :D

Karin - I can't believe you are going through all that house stress right now. We had our house on the market too but when the 6 month contract was up we let it go. I couldn't deal with the stress of that and the IVF at the same time. We will likely be stuck where we are currently living for a while, but if we end up pg, it will be worth it! As for the redhead issue, I agree that if neither you nor your husband have red heads in your families, that you may want to avoid a donor that could potentially have red head genes.

Laurin 1171 - good luck with your transfer tomorrow too!!

AFM - I had my ET this morning - both (2) embies made it. They didn't give me any grade or rating info on the embies but they did give me a picture of them :D The doctor said they look like they are a little slow to grow but look good besides that. I'm hoping that they are ok and that he isn't just saying that to try to keep my thoughts positive. I should have asked more questions. I could not believe how quick the ET procedure was - SO much better than ER. I did acupuncture right before and right after. The acupuncturist gave me herbal supplements to take to help with implantation. They were $22 for 100 of them and you are supposed to take 12 a day! Seems a bit odd but I'll do anything I can to help with implantation! Work is pretty busy so I'm hoping this 2ww goes fast! My beta is scheduled for 8/16 - 7am!!

Hi All,
I'll try this again! Hmph!! I'll type faster and post in short bursts instead of big blasts so maybe the site won't kick me off. A few of you have asked me about the "tea" my accupuncurist had given me.The herbs are all individually packaged and labled with the chinese and botanical names and expiration code dates. I use all 12 packages in a cup of hot water. The viscosity is like a really dark rich espresso and slightly bitter to the taste. She told me to add honey if I need to. And I do!
Here's the list:
Cuscota Chinensis (seed)
Eucommia Ulmoides (stem bark)
Polygonum Multiflorum (root tuber)
Taxillus Chinensis (branch w/leaf)
Rehmannia Glutinosa (root tuber- prepared)
Achyranthes Bidentata (root)
Lycium Barbarum (root)
Angelica Sinensis (root)
Eclipta Prostrata (herb)
Ligustrum Lucidum (fruit prepared)
Cinnamomum Cassia (bark)
Dipsacus Asperoides (root)

That's all of them. I drink 1 cup of the "tea" a day for 6 days and "rest" for the 7th.I looked them up on the net and they all assist in blood cleansing and help kidney, liver and uterin function. She said they help me get good egg production. We'll see. I just hope all this extra stuff works. I see the accupuncturist again on Monday. I do know that I can't take any herbs while I'm stimming. I'll let you know how this goes.
Love Hugs and Baby Dust to All,
