My RE told me that DH and I can have oral sex but no penetration. I never got to ask if I'm allowed to have an orgasm. I'm afraid it may hurt the embies in someone. Does having an orgasm hurt them or is it a positive thing b/c it gets a nice blood flow down there?

Mrs.IVF - I have read that orgasms cause the uterus to contract. My doctor told me to refrain from sexual contact during the 2ww do in my opinion I wouldn't risk it.

my RE said no sex/orgasm/penetration at all till 34 weeks LOL.....but every RE is different..

We were instructed not to have sex/orgasm during the 2ww. After my 2nd beta we were "cleared" for "gentle" bedroom activity as long as no cramping or spotting. BUT, just to be safe, we are waiting until after our u/s as I have heard that is what a lot of folks have been instructed to do.

Hmm, wide variety of opinions on this out there by the sounds of it! My RE is of the opinion you can do as you please. Simply go about your usual lifestyle. I was majorly concerned about horse riding, since I ride every day and he said I can do what I like as long as there's no pain.

I was told pleasing him was fine but none for me. We can play but no orgasm or penetration. Of course I started spotting at 6w. The restriction is in place until the end of the first trimester. DH is very excited it is around the corner. I could care less...I always feel a bit crampy. As my DH likes to say.....WOO HOO it's BJ week!

I too was told no sex or orgasms during my 2ww because it could cause the embryo to expel. By the way, that includes breast stimulation because it causes orgasms also.

Let me add to this TMI question just out of curiosity ladies!! During my fresh cycle in 2008 I could not wait to be off restriction. I would wake up having dreams and all sorts or crazyness. For a time it was almost every night (of course I listened to my doc) but was BAD. Was that the drugs from a fresh cycle??? I was worried I was going to have that again this time around for my FET. But thankfully not at all. In fact I could care less. Anyone else notice?

Ghost you are too funny! But, on a serious note, my high risk OB told me no nipple stimulation because I was already having contractions because it can make it worse. I guess each physician has his or her own list of things to avoid.
