Hi Leorira11 I am glad to find out about your positive beta that was a great number, I am tempted to join you but I want to wait until the heart beat appointment, even though last Saturday I did have an u/s and we saw a 5 weeks yolk sac. So I will keep you updated after my u/s on the 8/18/10, my boobs are so big it look like I had a breast augmentation and I have so much appetite, other than that I am having some cramping during night time. I wish you good luck and take care, my due is estimated for 4/6/11.
I haven't had any ultrasounds yet - I'm scheduled for Sunday (5w3d). I hope to see a gestational sac then!
I know that I should be more cautious, especially in the first trimester - but my last pregnancy ended SOOO tragically. I'm feeling really optimistic about this one. Last time I worried about miscarrying the WHOLE time - only to go into labor early and deliver my twins at 22 weeks. NOT something I had even considered (the loss rate after 20 weeks is lower than 1%).
Now I just want to enjoy my pregnancy as long as I can. If I go on Sunday and everything is NOT okay... would I have changed anything by worrying about it this week? My new philosophy is to enjoy this baby as long as I have him/her... hopefully for the rest of my life - but for the very least today. I'm pregnant today - and for that I'm grateful.
I know I sound overly confident and snobby - but my experiences have led me to this mindset. I'm just going to relax and take this as it comes...
Best of luck to you on your ultrasound next week, Jamila! I hope to hear good things

as for symptoms - I'm exhausted! I'm taking a nap at lunchtime and after work!
Also - I had HG last time and lost over 30lbs in my first trimester. I've only thrown up three times so far (knock on wood!), but I'm super queasy and not eating that much.

Hey girls! I thought I would join your thread although I'm only 5 weeks. This is my first pregnancy and have no idea what to expect. I too have been exhausted! Yesterday I slept 2 hours after work and couldv'e slept all night! I keep waking up so early though. It's 7am on a Sat ugh! Congrats to all of you! We are having Easter babies
heavy heavy bleeding and huge clots. The clinic says everything is fine (gestational sac on the u/s and good beta numbers, rising very quickly). I just have to wait and see what happens...
This sucks.

nope. I lost the baby. I really can't believe it...
How can so many bad things happen to one person?
My birthday was last week. One year ago, I was in the middle of the IVF cycle that got me pregnant with the twins I lost at 22 weeks. 2 failed cycles followed my loss...
I thought that 24 would HAVE to be better than 23 was... but it's not.

After the awful ultrasound this morning (still a gestational sac, but it's "collapsed") we were just waiting for the blood test to confirm the miscarriage...
But it didn't. My hcg is still rising but not as quickly as before (it had been doubling every 36 hours - it went from 8000 yesterday to 8500 today).
Because the HCG is still rising and there is still a gestational sac, I have to continue my PIO until Sunday and go back for another ultrasound.
WTF? I can't believe that I can't *know* if this is a miscarriage or not. The odds look so bad (the u/s tech and the nurse this morning saying they were so sorry for my loss), but the doctor is giving me hope.
I don't know what to think, or how the hell I'll get through the next 6 days.

Hello Krissymichaels.... we share dd
4-11-11....
Two Gest Sacs found, scare w. some red bleeding last sat... emergency U/S yesterday (6 weeks to date)... showed one HB, other one showing yolk sac, good perimeters... but no HB yet... going back on Fri for scan.
Hey girlies! I have my 3rd beta this morning and US on Aug 24th. Sounds like your IVF clinics monitor more closely than mine? Anyways of course I'm a bit nervous for my numbers but staying positive!
There is a fetus measuring 6w1d (I'm officially 6w today) with a HEARTBEAT! A normal looking yolk sac too! The sac is a little irregularly shaped (which might later be a problem in terms of risks for pPROM again if it doesn't correct itself), but everything else is perfect! We are shocked! The doctor and nurse (u/s tech was stuck in traffic so the dr did the u/s) were shocked! It really is even better than we could have hoped for! (I was hoping they would still see something which would mean I hadn't miscarried yet... this is so great!)
We are so shocked and so excited. It's really hard to believe. We've spent so many days thinking that miscarriage was inevitable...
I'm BAAACK! I'm rejoining you lovely April ladies!
