Jbird30 - I wanted to tell you that i am sorry that you got a BFN also. I agree with everyone who replied. I would ask what he or she plans to do differently on the next cycle. It also seems like you felt you weren't informed with enough information so I would ask about better communication. Also, what he or she thinks went wrong because sometimes they have a feeling after knowing something that you don't and they might try to correct that problem for the next cycle. I would also share any symptoms that you experienced before, during, and after the transfer because you might think it is insignificant but it could be very important to the success of your next cylce. For example, I shared w/ my RE that I experienced severe cramping following my FET; as a result, my RE chnaged my protocol and I got another BFP!
I know every time a BFN is delivered it is so very hard because those are you and your DH's hopes and dreams for a family. Just remember like everyone else said your BFP could be just right around the corner so don't give up.
Thank you Angela! I know I keep saying it but I appreciate everyone's advice and input so much on here. I'm so glad I went looking for some support and that there are so many knowledgable and caring people here! I am definitely going to ask for better communication, seeing that everyone is suggesting it which means that I wasn't crazy or being too needy expecting it!
I am so sorry for your losses - I am learning that it takes such a strong woman to keep trying! Good luck and best wishes -
Jeannine

Hi all! Had my follow-up consult today... and hoping my doctor doesn't think I'm a lunatic! I asked him a ton of questions, and (carefully) pointed out my concerns about their success rates and protocols. He was very matter-of-fact and honest about things, which I appreciated. At this point, he said he is unsure of my dx because they can't really find anything wrong, aside from mild endometriosis... he did say that he would have liked to see me make more eggs next time in order to increase the chances for better embryos (two of mine were highly graded, 2 more a bit above average, and the other 5 were no good.) I think we;re going to wait until the fall to do our frozen cycle, because I'm finally feeling like my old self after coming off of all the meds, and I think a (short) break from all of this might be good!
Hope everyone is doing well -
Jeannine

Jeannine - Sounds like you had a good follow-up meeting, which I am glad to hear. Hopefully your FET in the fall will work, and if not it would seem that your doctor has some kind of plan in mind to change things up for your stim to yield more/better eggs. The difference between my first stim and my second was like night and day I felt so much better - and it worked - so clearly tweaking the meds can make a bid difference. I hope to do an FET this fall also, but right now AF is a week late (sadly, no chance of a happy accident with our infertility!) so who knows what this will do to my anticipated schedule. Fingers crossed that we will be joining one of the pg boards together by the end of the year!

Hey all! Back in the game!! Frozen transfer at the end of October.
Hope you are all well! Again, thanks for all of the support when we were going through such a difficult time - it is so true with this that unless you're going through it, there's no way for others to understand! Finding this board was probably the best thing that could have happened.
All the best!

I have just failed by first cycle too so thanks for this post - saved me asking the same things! I would never have thought to mention to the RE about how I felt during the cycle (which was mainly ill!).
It is a shame clinics use the first cycle as a tester to see how people respond. I only get one attempt funded by the NHS so now have to pay/incur debt because the protocol needs to be altered. Not fair but hopefully worth it.
