Katie - HAPPY 30 WEEKS! lol I am right behind you! If I can make it there. My intuition tells me that you might pop a little early. Not premature early but for some reason I get the feeling that Savannah wants to make a dramatic entrance. lol Do you have any mother insticts on that? I get those feelings from time to time myself about my pregnancy. I am not expecting to even make it 35 weeks the way my body is acting up. OUCH about the nails. All over a rabbit huh? Must not be easy rangling a big dog like her and being preggers! Then the bear? My goodness. At least your fur baby didn't want to go out and play with him. lol A big nasty bear dump too? I wouldn't be happy about that at all! Poop is not fun no matter who or what does it. I don't understand why wildlife won't go out to do something. In CO their would be bears who came down from the mountains in search of food. CO Springs was a great place for them to rummage through garbage or camp sites. Sometimes even mommy bears with their cubs. It's sad that they can't find food where they live, but maybe that is something that wildlife needs to take into consideration. Anything from restocking lakes and rivers to extending hunting season a week or something??

Lou - So... has it been two weeks yet? Gosh you are super strong to not POAS. I couldn't wait 3 days before trying. I did that with each cycle too... tested as early as three days that is. Each time I got a BFN until the last time at 5dp5dt. That was my first little faint line. It was so faint at first glance Andrew was like... Why did you give me a negative pregnancy test. lol I had to have him look closer. Anyway, you have patience that's for sure. You did the same thing last cycle too right? I seem to remember your strong will to stay away from a POAS. lol Your symptoms sound great too! How would you feel about twins if you did have two? I am sure you would be happy with anything you got anyway. lol Still, just thinking twins... wow! With two perfect blasts, anything is possible!

Claudia - I am surprised I haven't gained more myself. I have always gained a lot before. However, this time I gained 30 while cycling so I am thinking it is all evening out now. Good thing too, I am hoping to gain no more than 10 and lose 30. lol Then I won't have to work as hard to lose the last 10 (or maybe go for some more) afterwards. You are so tiny that your weight gain is normal, I was not so tiny so my wight gain or lack of isn't an issue. :) Glad to know you will be hopping on the registry wagon. lol

Angela - Yes it is reassuring to know they are ahead of schedule a bit. I am hoping that means they will act like babies a week ahead and not just be little porkers. lol I feel you on the heat! I got in the car the other day and it was reading 111!! Who knows what the heat index was. Every day I see on the tv of a heat advisory. It has been in the 100's for a while now and with added heat indexes. It sucks! Have I mentioned before that I hate this state? lol

Ronda - Glad to see you pop in. Miss you like crazy! Hoping for a miracle for you still. :)

AFM - Well, yesterday was eventful. I was just sitting here when BH started. No big deal right? Maybe not but they started to come every 5 -7 minutes. That was more than 5 an hour of course. So I called L&D and asked what I should do, how long do I wait before it becomes a concern and such. This was the first time they started that close together and kept on for that long. She told me to go in mostly bcause of the previa. I didn't want to though. lol I even asked her, what if they stop before I get there, she said that I shouldn't take the risk. Now, I made it clear that I knew they were BH and not real labor. Anyway, so I get there and I am hooked up to the monitor for about an hour and a half if not longer. No contractions were measured that I had seen but the nurse put the thing right under my bra... it was way too high to measure anything. The babies looked great though, nice strong healthy heartbeats the whole time. Ethan played a little hide and seek though. That boy is already a hand full. lol They also went to check my cervix using a speculum. That didn't feel good. Then another doctor wanted to be a second opinion and come in again with the speculum. He couldn't see my cervix at all, but the other doc said she saw it and it looked closed. So doctor number two got out the u/s and tried to see it that way. Just like my OB, no luck. He was thinking about doing a transvag but changed his mind. So my cervix is once again a mistery on length and we somewhat have a clue based on doctor number one that it is closed. lol No bed rest, no modified anything. Just was told this time that it has to be 5 or more an hour for over 2 hours. So much for following my OB's orders, but if it makes it so I don't have to sit there for hours just for them to shrug their shoulders then so be it. lol I knew the BH wouldn't keep up, I knew they weren't real contracions, but I was old to go in and be safe and of course I wanted to "be safe". As much as I have these darn BH though I might have to see them again. Yeah... not too sure I will make it to 35 weeks. :?

Hi Ladies!! Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Steph - SUCKY SUCKY SUCKY about having to go to L&D! My friend with 5 year old twins girls just told me that she had BH for 18 WEEKS, 2-3 min apart, and they didn't do anything. They kept monitoring her, but nothing. She was induced at 36 weeks and it still took forever. Sounds like they are just super common with multiples, but definitely take it easy! I have noticed a decrease in mine since the bed rest. And I'm so glad there is a plan in place in case you start bleeding, but OH MY!! Hopefully nothing like that happens and you are getting your C done in just over 6 weeks!!

Katie - We live in a suburb but it's on a national preserve. We have deer in our year all the time and see the occasional bear. Our neighbor was getting them in her garage at night because she kept the garage door open. Um, ok...think maybe she should close it??

Gi - I'm here!! So glad you are having a gorgeous day in Ireland! Sounds fantastic!

Lou - LOTS AND LOTS of dust headed your way!!!

Rhonda - So awesome to hear from you!

Claudia - So great to feel your baby, right??! I love that Flick is moving so much. Do you also have an anterior placenta? Both of my girls have that, so some days they are all over the place, others it's not as noticeable.

AFM - I had a really wonderful weekend. DH and I had a great dinner out on Wednesday for my birthday, but I ordered lobster risotto (which I love) and could barely eat it once it came because of the seafood smell!!! Seafood has been my one aversion this pregnancy, though I can have shrimp on occasion. So I had some of his dinner instead.

Friday night he took the kids to a hotel and one of my BFFs came for a little slumber party :D I went to dinner with she and my other BFF, plus another close friend. DH was picking up the tab for all of us. Saturday morning was shower #1 and it was fabulous!! We had a really wonderful time. I was in the recliner most of the time so I didn't go against my bed rest orders too much. My mom and my SIL were there to police me :D

My SIL and 21 year old niece stayed over last night and my niece told me she and her boyfriend are planning on getting married next July. He will probably have the ring and officially propose around Christmas, but they are super serious and starting the planning now. She wanted to try on my wedding dress again (she loves it and I kept it for her knowing she would be one of the few people who would ever fit into it...she actually tried it on when she was 17 for fun) and OMGOSH!! You couldn't even TRY to make a more perfect dress for her! Fit like a glove so the only alterations she'll need are hemming and fix the bustle. It's ivory (and real ivory, not candlelight), and looks even better on her 1/4 Jamaican tanned skin than it did on me! She'll give it back when she's done and I'll hold onto it to see if any of my girls want it, but I am so glad she'll be able to wear it. I wish I had taken pics... I will be celebrating 8 years with DH right after she gets married, and she is 8 years younger than me. I can't even believe it.
Me - 30
DH - 38
DS - 5 (adopted, Russia), DD 3 (adopted, Kyrgyzstan)

Claudia – I hope your registry went well this weekend. Yes, I totally agree that knowing what you need and want can be very overwhelming. I started out by making a list of the essentials and then went from there. I bought just about everything for my nephew when he was born because my sister went into labor really early so I just tried to remember what I bought for him and searched for those things. But, I have been talking to new mommies also to see what they bought, which has really helped me in my decision process.

Lou – I said the same thing after I lost Ashley. I told my DH and my dad that she might be as close as I will get to having my baby in my arms. I also said she might have been my last chance and to think that she could be here if I didn’t have such an incompetent physician makes it really, really hard to accept. But, here I am pregnant with Gabriella. You will have your dream also; you just wait and see!

Katie – I am trying not to have too much involvement with my shower but gosh it is so hard. I just want to take over and get it done. But, I will have faith in them and let them plan everything else.

A bear in your yard … wow!!!! At first, I thought you were talking about a neighbor’s pet named bear … lol but then I quickly realized you meant an actual bear!! I don’t blame you for be cautious of seeing bears … just be careful!

Lol … Yes, you are 30 weeks along! I say that every time I log onto this site and look at everyone’s ticker. It is so very hard to believe we are so far along! It shouldn’t be too long for several of you and I can’t wait to see pictures!

Stephanie – I was so worried when I was reading your post. I know that was scary but I am so glad that you and the babies are fine and back at home. I don’t know if I ever told you this but there is a guy and his wife who works with me that lives in Columbus, OH, which is not too far away from me who went through IVF just before I did back in 2008. They transferred two embryos and she became pregnant with twins. She was on bed rest by 21 or 22 weeks and went into labor at 27 weeks. Her physicians were able to put off the labor for a few days but the babies insisted on coming anyway! I am so very happy to say that despite the babies being in the NICU for a few weeks they were so very healthy and went home with no complications. Most of you ladies are well past that point or close to it and I just know that everyone will be just fine and have very healthy babies! I am sure of it!

Gi – it is great to hear from you and I am here. I actually have been here all weekend and have been reading each and every day but I have been so busy. I just found time to reply now.

My shower is actually planned for Sept. 11th, so three Saturdays away from now. I wanted to change date when I realized the date of the shower falls on 911 but I couldn’t change it because of outside circumstances.

Babyluv – I am so glad that you enjoyed your b-day! It sounds like a wonderful time…

So your niece is planning on getting married next year. That is great but it is such a big step but I am sure you will be there to help guide her.

AFM – I had a busy, busy weekend and I finally caught up on some much needed sleep this afternoon. I have just a few more invites for my shower to send out and I will be finished on my end.

Right now, I am trying to plan our vacation for next week but it is so hard because I am limited to what I can do and where I can travel. I think we have narrowed it down to Niagara Falls, Canada or Windsor, Canada. Windsor is only 4 hours away and I think Niagara Falls is a little over 7 hours from me.

Hi everyone

Lou - alright then - just 1 more day to go for you! thankfully it wasnt a full 2ww - I've had those and whew, they are hard to get through! I know that today will pass by sooo slowly, but I'm hoping that you keep yourself busy and it goes quicker than expected. Glad you had a great time at Jimmy Buffett - I've never seen him live, but i just love the remake of "5 o'clock somewhere" he does with Alan Jackson, even thought the first time I heard I was like huh? What an odd combo those 2 are. I'll get my fingers ready today to wear them out checking on your results tomorrow - hee hee. I have a really good feeling about tomorrow for you.... xoxo

Gi - Whoo hoo honey! 27 weeks already! Oooh, pale pink and cream sound so beautiful for your nursery! Bet you're in a real big hurry to see what it will look like when its done.. and yes, how fun is it when they are aiming for your bladder to kick you in? hee hee, guess its a game for them to stay amused in there..

Steph - What do they mean they cant see your cervix? it hasnt gone anywhere,it cant have shortened to the point of it not showing up on the screen, could it? I'd think you'd feel that wouldnt you? maybe they mean that the babies are in a weird position and making it difficult to see on a u/s? I'm sorry that you had to go sit in L&D for all that time, but at least you get the peace of mind that its surely BH. Even though I think you knew that before you went in, ugh... I'm still doing the " babies stay in there longer" dance for you. I hope they can hear me.. Ummm, yeah, Gracie dog is strong as an ox when she wants to be, luckily she behaves pretty well, but a bunny in front of her was just too much fun to lose out on - lol. But she will let us know when a bear has been around, she is usually one of those dogs with a perm a wagging tail, but sometimes you let her out and her tail stops wagging, her head goes down and she doesnt want to leave the porch, she's sniffing the air like mad? yeah, I take that as "we'll go out later on then" haha.
For your question on Savannah wanting to make a dramatic entrance? I've had the idea that she may show a week or 2 early, but who can tell? I'm still feeling clueless about the whole thing so I'm hoping when real contractions start, that it will leave no question as to what they are - sounds about right? You take it easy twin mama, no doing too much please! - xoxoxo

Babyluv - I'm happy that shower number 1 went great! when is shower number 2? Aww, I love that idea about your niece wearing your wedding dress! Some things are just meant to be. How are you doing our other twin mama? I'll bet its awesome to have your Mom there to help out. Umm, yeah life next to 100 acres of woods is usually fine, but of all the wildlife visitors that we get ( turkeys, deer, fox, hawks, rabbits, etc) the only one I'd like to never see again is the bear (s) they just scare me to no end. And WTH? was your neighbor thinking leaving the garage door open all day? thats like inviting them in your house!

Angela - Hope you got some rest this weekend and a break from the heat? just 3 weeks now til your shower! you must be getting excited about it! i know its really difficult to sit back and let someone else plan and execute it, but think how fun it will to have it be a surprise on shower day! A vacation sounds great, but are you thinking of driving or flying? I personally am uncomfortable to be in the car more than 30-60 minutes lately. But at 21-21 weeks, it was still fine for me. And bonus if you dont have to help drive you can just push the seat back til you feel comfy. How's the heart burn lately?

Hazel - I start wondering where you are when you dont check in... Hope no news is good news... xoxo

Claudia - how are you doing honey? enjoying a bit of free time, I hope?

AFM - I actually had a full nights sleep with no heart burn or acid reflux! it was so great I'd like to do it again tonight - yeah, I know dont push my luck..
Does anyone else get insanely tired about 20 minutes after they eat? I could fall asleep after eating anything it seems like. So thank God we had some patience for that wall decal that takes up an entire wall! Well actually Chris put the tree part up and today I'll finish the rest of it, so I can post nursery pics tomorrow after he puts all the furniture back in place. It looks really good so far, they werent kidding that it looks like it was painted on, but boy was it a pain in the behind! all the pieces have to be cut out, which I wasnt expecting somehow I thought it would be 1 giant sheet of transfer paper? Oh no, it turns out that theres altogether 86 pieces tocut and apply individually - fun, yes? I'm determined to finish it today - I cant wait to see what it will look like done. So thats my day, wish me luck & patience for that - xoxoxo

Katie - My cervix likes to point down when I am preggers, they usually have a hard ime with it. Now that it has obviously shortened and pointed down, they can't see it by u/s. That is my guess anyway. Now, they could easily find it by a pelvic exam, but they won't because of the previa. The one doctor said she saw the cervix with the speculum, and it looked closed, she just couldn't see how long it is. I was very surprised that I didn't bleed after two of them messing around in there with the speculum. I would think a pelvic exam would have been easier on me. Oh well, life goes on. I think it is pretty easy to tell BH from regular contractions. BH shouldn't hurt at all, though I will say they can be uncomfortbale since if you are walking and have one, it can feel like all of a sudden you are carrying a bowling ball. lol Real contractions can feel like mentral cramps or like you have a good poop coming on but aren't pooping. If that feeling comes and goes every few minutes regularly, then those are real contractions. lol So I am sure you will know it when Savannah wants to say hello. :) Good luck putting the rest of the wall up today! I can't wait to see what it looks like!!

Angela - I think Andrew was more scared than me. I called him while he was still at work. He had to listen to the SGM of the Army talk and was running late as it was. So my call got him out of that boring meeting, but when he came home he seemed a little bit of a wreck. He was excited but at the same time scared because it was so early. I told him to relax, I am sure I am fine. After all, the only reason I went was because I was told to. I knew it wasn't time yet. Well, I was 99.9% sure. lol I know they will come early. My guess is if I make it another 2-3 weeks I will be lucky. I can feel the changes in my body, not to mention I have a good intuition. I hope I am like your friend and mine come home with no complications as well. I am sure they will be fine. I am glad to be out of the nonviable zone, but I also know what just a few weeks premature can possibly do to a baby. At least mine are big and strong and always ahead of schedule. That gives me extra hope. Congrats on getting your shower stuff settled.. on your end. :) Some things we just want to do ourselves. You know, I was that way. So now that you are having a shower... think you might want to join the registry for the thread? I would love to get something for little Gabriella!

Babyluv - I am sure BH are so common in multiples thanks to the bigger uterus. The body wants to prepare sooner rather than later for the babies since the brain tells it that it's done. I wonder at times if you can use the whole "mind over matter" theory and convince yourself you are smaller than you are or something. lol Much like a woman can onvince her body it is pregnant when it isn't or someone can convince themself they are sick when they aren't. Not sure, but it would be nice. :) That's sweet that you got dinner with the hubs. you are so much more brave than me with the seafood. I don't really care for shellfish though I do love me some fish like seasoned frilled salmon. Yum! I stay away from anything that could possibly cause me issues. I have been craving a cold sandwhich forever! I just want some ham, turkey, chicken or even bologna or salami even. lol I want to be able to eat a tuna sandwhich without worrying if it is albacore or not and how much mercury could it have? Blah... sometimes ignorance is bliss. lol I didn't know all this last time and ate everything and was just fine. Glad you got shower number one out of the way and were able to still stick to your restrictions. That is great that your neice fits the dress. That sounds like it was meant to be. :)

Gi - The weekends always seem to be slow with posts I find. :) A warm day in Ireland?? Is that possible? lol Just kidding. I am glad that it was a nice day. To just sit outside in the garden and read and enjoy the day must have been great. I wish i could enjoy the outside. It's just too hot here. We wanted to go camping but his leave happened just a little too late. If he would have gotten the time off in June like we wanted, I could have done so much more. So how are you and Kayla? I bet she is really starting to beat you up by now? My stomach always looks like aliens are trying to break out of my body. lol

Hazel - Has Zorba made an appearance or are you just busy? lol I hope all is well!!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

AFM - The dresser/changer and crib finally came in so all that's left is a few little touches. I will be taking pictures of course and posting them. I want to add shelves and some wall decorations and maybe even a little rug to help make the room colorful. The only color in there now is the bedding and what came with the bedding. The walls are so white and the floor so blah that I think we could use it. I also have a plan to take some artistic pg photos to frame and hang on the wall. One of my neighbors is a photographer and said she would do it for free! YAY! She also wants to take pictures of the twins after they are born and is very excited about doing that. Well, Andrew just came home (an hour early) so after I let him rest for a little while, I am going to send him to the store to get the remaining things for the nursery. lol Take care all you baby mamas! Much love!

Ladies – I have had such a bad day today … I am so happy for this day to be over! It started out that I had to wait 30 minutes longer for my breakfast because they didn’t have what I ordered. I said oh well, let’s move on. Then I go for an appointment with one of the physicians that I call on and the staff says oh he left early can you come back after 1pm … uh “no”. The parking lot is about a mile away and I was exhausted by the time I got to the office and I had to go to my weekly u/s over an hour away and an hour back. So I said oh well, let’s move on … and I go home to pick up my DH so we can go to our appointment and I am backing in the driveway trying to avoid his SUV and our third car. I guess my mind was somewhere else and I hit my driver side mirror on the garage and yes it broke!!

The best part of the day was the fact that Gabriella is doing ok. She was squirming and moving around in there. I was so upset from my day that I wasn’t my usually happy mood but I did smile when I saw her. While we were in the office my DH’s phone rang and it was his father. I didn’t pay much attention to the conversation but then I heard my DH say “I am getting off the phone because I don’t want to hear you when you are talking ignorant”. I immediately knew what the conversation was about. I later asked him anyway what did he say to make you so mad. He said he made the comment that he wishes you were having a boy again. I was so mad that I stopped talking because I probably would have said nothing but rude comments if I said another word when it wasn’t my DH’s fault. I just couldn’t get this off my mind, so I talked with my dad about it and he was so angry because he knows what we went through to get pregnant w/ Gabriella after losing four other babies. He said what is wrong with a girl? He told me that I have to ignore people who are ignorant and have no respect for others. But it is hard to forget it. I told my DH that I am so pissed off at his father and his wife. We have talked about adopting a child after we have our own and now I would not want to subject an adopted child to their stupid comments. My sister just called me and said dad told me what you told him about your father-in-law and that is so disrespectful … we are so happy for you and you are so lucky you are having a girl. She said all I want is a healthy niece or nephew. Please ladies, talk me off of this ledge that I am standing on right now!
