hi, everyone , i had my ret on july 17 and my trasfer on july 21, so on august 2, 2010 i had my first beta at 393 i ws called with the good news that i was very preggo...i was so happy. and on 8/14/10 i had my first ultrasound at 6 weeks well well well... there is two babies ,,, i am so blessed , scared , happy , and all kids of feelings , i just hope that everything goes well, it will be my first ivf. i am due 4/8/10. i am 41 and mother of 3 my youngest being 19 this year.

Hi I'm joining this thread...I'm happy to announce I'm 8 weeks 5 days pregnant. I started with really good Betas with the chance of twins. Well we had triplets, we heard all three heartbeats but the RE stated that Baby C the yoke is bigger than the sac, & it wouldn't survive...we were sad to hear the hb. So we left thinking we were having twins & excited. Of course we told plenty of people...I went for another u/s & then it was confirmed that Baby A & C didn't have a heartbeat. I was so sad...I was surprised about Baby A. I'm glad to say that I'm still pregnant having baby B. It was so hard dealing with that news & then to tell everyone we're not having twins. I told my hubby from the beginning I don't want to tell too many people but he didn't listen to me at all...I understand he's excited...Moving forward I have an appt for Perinatal in Sept..a scan to check if my baby has any genetic disease or down syndrome. I hope all goes well . All I want is a healthy strong baby!!

My due date is: 3/26/11

Hi Annpage-
Thanks for sharing...It's really good that Baby B is doing well! When we went back for our 8 week appt, the u/s person showed us another implantation site, but no heartbeat. We are really thankful that one of the embies is growing healthy and strong...and actually, hopefully, this will be a safer pregnancy for me.

I have a discharge appt with RE next week (in my 10th week). Still anxious. First special scan will be at 12 weeks.

Hi All,

I've been lurking and am finally joining this thread! I'm due 3/22/11, so am 10 weeks 0 days today. I had an U/S at 6 weeks where we saw the heartbeat and one at 8 weeks where they measured the heartbeat and all is good so far and the baby is measuring on date.

I am 38 so I am going in for a CVS this Thursday. Definitely nervous about that. I had an amnio with my daughter, but figured I'd do a CVS this time as you can do it 4-6 weeks earlier than an amnio. Then results should take about 2 weeks, so I'll be a little bit past 12 weeks when I get results.

When do you all plan on telling family/friends/coworkers that you're expecting? The only person I've told so far has been my best friend, so right now it's b/t me, my husband, my best friend, and my docs! I was thinking of maybe holding off until 14 weeks. I'm just so afraid of a miscarriage.

Hi jeandawga-- welcome!
Congrats on 10 weeks-- we must be around the same time. Yes, I understand your reluctance to say anything. I had a "missed miscarriage" last year and now, I am so hesitant. Just a few people know for sure that I am pregnant, though some are guessing. It's hard b/c people know that I had in-vitro (its a long story)

As for me-- I am really worried right now. My preg. symptoms seem to be abating some. I see the RE this week and wonder if they will do another u/s before they discharge me to the ob-gyn. Also, I've been getting some wicked bad headaches and wonder if they are due to hormones fluctuating. Trying not to take any meds...just rest and hydrate.

Hi all, Firstly congratulations on your pregnancies and your progress so far! We are over the first of the hurdles!!

I am blown away by how our minds all seem to think the same way, have the same concerns and the same questions. I am 10weeks 5days today and have a fairly obvious bump now which is so exciting. i had a scan on Monday and the bub seems to be happy in its home and doing well developmentally 3.69cm which is bang on the mark in terms of size to the day.

I have only told my mum and my sister and a couple of work colleagues who knew I had had the IVF. My husband's family is all gathering this weekend for a 60th so I am thinking of announcing our news there where we have everyone together and can tell everyone at once. I would have liked to have passed the 12 week mark before I told people but this opportunity to break the news seems like a good one.

I will then wait for my 12 week scan and tests before telling others I think. I cant wait to tell work that I am pregnant as I think there will be some people there that will hang their heads for the way they have treated me in the past couple of months. it will be interesting.

Sunshine and stars - apart from my bulge and the fact I had the scan confirming all ok on Monday I now have no pregnancy symptoms either. Nausea has gone, cramps have gone and generally the fatigue is slightly reduced. So please dont be too concerned about your lack of symptoms. Ask for another scan at your next appt so you can reduce your stress over this.

Good luck to all on the count down til the end of the first trimester and for the big scans and tests coming up.

Kate & Sunshine: I feel the same way I have no symptoms...Alot of people ask me how I'm feeling (which if you don't know alot of people know I'm expecting). I don't feel tired, I was feeling nausous when I thought of what I ate or the thought of chicken bothers me..I don't know why... I feel like I'm going to feel something soon. Everyone I talked to says when they were in their 1st trimester they were tired & slept any chance they could. I think maybe my 2nd trimester I'll be tired & nausea. Who knows. I'll tell you I'm alittle over 9 weeks & I'm concerned too. Before I was going to my RE at least once a week & was being monitored. Now I have to wait weeks before I go for another u/s. I do have a baby bump but I worry at times. My friend suggested lending me her fetal monitor her husband bought for her when she was going through this. She said it really helped. All the best to you ladies!!!

Annpage I am so exited for you and you are almost out of the first trimester so yay! I know you worry but if they are not watching you closely it only means that things are going well so please try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy...for both of us lol I am going to check in on you from time to time and I am sorry about the roller coaster you have been through but it will be ok and you will be holding you're baby in your arms before you know it... You are in my thoughts

Hi everyone-- I got good news today-- I had my 10 week scan and the little one is showing good growth (actually 10 weeks and 6 days) and is squirmy and active. We also got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Yeah! Double Yeah! I was a nervous, tearful mess while I waited for the scan to begin...but all is well. The RE officially discharged me to the ob-gyn-- they have been keeping me 'cause of my history of m/c and 'cause of me being so fearful. But I feel LOTS better now-- and ready for the next step, I think! The only thing that they told me was to be sure to tell the scan people at the ob-gyn that I had "vanishing twin syndrome" 'cause one of the embies didn't make it, but still shows on the scan. They said that sometimes the person scanning doesn't know quite what to say, if they don't know your history.

Hi everyone,
Just wondering how your weekend went???
I am not quite ready for maternity stuff, but need a good dress for work-- so I tried to find one on-line. This was a big step-- just giving myself permission to look. I guess that I am picky, but the "baby doll" dresses don't really look right on me-- and it seems that was the majority of maternity dresses. Anyone else looking? Got any tips?

I've given myself permission to look, but not to buy! I'm trying to hold off until later not just because I'm worried about a miscarriage, but also because I want to avoid buying summer clothes if possible and will try to wait until fall. It's unfortunate, but there are definitely slim pickings for maternity clothes. My last pregnancy I basically bought from Gap and Old Navy. This time I'll add Ann Taylor Loft and Target to the mix. I think the selection is a lot wider online than in the stores, which unfortunately means you need to return online, which is a pain. Maybe if you can't find a dress, you can do a skirt and top? It's one of the ways I'm avoiding buying new clothes right now - I'm wearing knit skirts with tops long enough and loose enough to hopefully not make it obvious that I'm pregnant. Good luck, and let me know if you find any good stores!

I think I am going to get that special fastener that allows you to wear your pants and jeans a bit longer. Yeah, I know what you mean about waiting for the fall stuff-- I thought I'd get a big wrap around cardigan with a sash tie. An acquaintance of mine had one, and she wore it throughout her pregnancy over dresses, jeans, you name it, just tying the sash a little looser each time. It looked great, not clunky.
