Babyluv - Thanks. yeah, I thought it was sort of a crappy thing to say also, but she's definitely a say whats on your mind type of person. And besides babies & kids love cartoons, right? the wall decal I got from http://simpleshapes.com was yours a whole days project to put up too? I mean I like the way it came out, it does look like it was painted, but whew! what a tedious day to apply it. I cant wait to see pics of your nursery. I'll bet that your DH is on it while your bed rest is still on.. yippeee for a great u/s and for a nice long cervix! ooh how I cant wait for my next u/s - its been almost 15 weeks since one. I plan to do alot of whining to make sure I get one the next OB appt  So maybe soon you'll be able to get up a little bit more? you poor thing I cant imagine how i'd deal with bed rest since I barely made it through semi bed rest for just 3 days after transfer. I'm sort of a jumping bean

Steph - Aw no honey, its bothering me so much that you're so miserable and horribly uncomfortable all the time. To not be able to turn over without pain is such an awful feeling. If they dont put Andrew on leave this weekend so he can help you feel better, I'm going to have to come out there and pull rank on whoever's in charge! I'm sure that they wont take it away from him again, due to stupidity & laziness of proper paperwork. Now after Andrew sees for himself, what you've been going through, he may not want to go back when his leave is up. I was thinking of how big a help Alex is to you and i'm sorry to hear that soon you'll be alone all day - I'll worry about you. Can the girls that you're friendly with be told that you should get checked in on? they were all pg at some point too and I'm sure will understand. And how fantastic is it that Andrew is talented enough to make the letters by himself? What they charge for those things is crazy! i got lucky to find them on clearance, but theres was no choice on colors or pattern. You can decide each letter what color and design you want to go with. I cant wait to see them! Chris isnt the most handy guy, I've ever met, he could never take on a project like that - so whoo hoo for your hubby!
And how sweet is Alex? I'll bet she's a great student, getting all nervous before the first day back to school. I was like that too when i was a kid.
Yep, the same thing was happening with me, it looked like 2 of the pics were huge every time I hit preview post, so I kept deleting and reposting, but they were normal size - after all that. And as for my friend? yes she has kids, well they're grown now, 2 boys at 18yo, and 20yo. I'm a bit miffed that she said that, but I like it, and Chris likes it so thats all that matters, right? Ack, twin mama, I dont know what to wish for you anymore. Of course I want to you to keep Angelina & Ethan in there a few weeks more, but I hear how you're feeling physically and I hate to think that you're in pain :( I just hope it eases up so you can breathe, and rest without feeling so bad. I'm super happy that Andrew will be home with you, how long is his leave for? Hang in there honey - xoxoxo

Franca - I remember hearing a woman on a different site that was given a 1:6 chance of DS and her baby was perfectly healthy. Are you going to get an amnio, just to have a better idea? big hug!

Hope - Its so good to hear from you! I cant believe that you're 28 weeks already! How are you feeling mama? I think its ok to have a second shower if you want to. Have you any names picked out yet?

AFM - I dont want to sound like I'm complaining, especially after hearing how Steph's doing, but I am dragging ass today! I was up every 2 hours or so last night, had to pee, couldnt get comfy, and the ever more popular lately - Savannah's all night dance party! I swear this one is a party girl already, and nocturnal too! heehee And i hit 31 weeks today - wow where did the time go? I need a nap.... much love to you all -xoxoxo

Hi Ladies!! Sorry I have been MIA!! This summer has been so much busier than I anticipated and getting around to write personals and an update has been difficult!!

I don't have much to report other than getting big (I will take an updated pic this week and post) and feeling Flick kick and punch like crazy during the days and nights has been so exciting! I go for my glucose test this week as well as my obgyn apt on Thursday!!

Steph-those pics were adorable!! you and your daughter look so much alike and she your belly is adorable!!! Enjoy the time off with Andrew and hope your feeling good!

Babyluv-I hope your obgyn takes you off bedrest since you got such a glowing report from the HR doctor! I love the names you chose and can't wait to see pics of the nursery!

Hazel-thinking of you giving birth any day to Zorba! Love the nursery pics

Katie-that wasn't nice of your friend and I think the nursery is adorable! I still haven't decided the style I want for mine but I think I'm ordering furniture this week so that will be a big relief! Registered some more today so I'm slowly getting there...

Franca-Sorry hon that your results came in scary. I know you will make the decision to have an amnio that works for you and DH.

Sorry for the short post but I'm off to dinner with the family to celebrate my brother's birthday!! love you ladies and I think of you all the time.

Claudia - Good to hear from you, you busy mama you! At least you are ding stuff to make the time fly by. Sometimes I feel like the days are too long. lol Can't wait to see that baby bump. I bet Flick has grown a ton and it shows on your belly. Thanks for the compliments on the pics. :)

Katie - You are too funny to be worrying about me so much. It's all in what we do as mothers anyway right? Suffer through 9 months of either being sick or uncomfortable. Then of course everytihng that comes after. Sleepless nights and a lifetime or worrying about our babies no matter how old they get because they will always be our babies. lol Andrew called on his leave and they have it at battalian which is where he will go to sign out. So far so good there! He goes for two weeks, he signs back in midnight on the 3rd but because of the weekend and the holiday he won't return to work until the 7th. He planned that well, taking 12 days leave but truly getting 17! :) As far as people stopping by and checking up on me.. my shower hosts couldn't stop by to stay in touh over the shower so I don't really see that happening. lol Though they did over to be a part of my labor plan. If I need anything just call in case I need someone for Alex or a ride to the hospital or whatever. I'm sorry you are feeling poopy. Hopefully Savannah gets out of that night time phase before she is born. lol You are 31 weeks today... holy cow! Time is just flying by. Oh and don't worry about me... last night wasn't so horrible. As long as I have a few good nights in there, I will make it through just fine. :)

Hope - Glad to get an update. As for your question, I think having a shower is just fine. For people that have had a baby before I think they call them sprinkles instead of showers. lol It's normally more quiet but still a party. I think it's fine for you especially since you are having a girl. It's when someone has had a few kids and especially the same gender that people might get annoyed with people having showers. In that case it just seems greedy. If all you need are clothes then I think it would be a great thing to have a little sprinkles party and asking everyone to bring girly outfits and such. Clothes are not expensive so you could make out like a bandit and get all you need up to a year old! Just make sure that you get more 3 months and up than newborn clothes. They grow so darn fast don't they? lol Good luck! I hope you get your party!

Franca - Do you think you will do the amnio to see for sure if the baby has DS or leave it alone? If you made the decision that it doesn't matter if the baby has DS or not, then maybe an amnio isn't for you. However, if you find yourself worrying about it or prefer to plan ahead and have the resources ahead of you in place then maybe an amnio is a good idea? So maybe times these tests come back that everything is perfect so I wouldn't worry too much. Not to mention, you will know 100% if it's a boy or a girl.. that is IF you want to know. :)

AFM - Andrew and I started on the nursery again today. We painted the accent walls. Each one is a nice soft pastel pink for her side and blue for his. Once that is all dry we will be putting up the wall decals. He is also starting on the letters today. He dug his scroll saw out. He says he can't use his lathe for the letters at all since it's more for decorating round things like table legs or making bowls or something. So YAY, I can't wait to see it all put togther. Oh, and Andrew agrees that though the brown panels are neutral, it does bring the room down. That means we will be getting curtains again. lol We will just use the ones I just bought in another room. No big deal since we needed curtains in the spare room anyway. :)

Katie- That was not very nice of your friend. I LOVE your nursery...especially the decals. Thanks for posting that link again. I was just going to message you to ask where you got them. :)

Steph- Sorry you feel so icky. It's very exciting that you are working on the nursery though! I was actually going to mention...about the letters...what about getting the wooden ones at Michael's craft store? You could paint them or cover them in batting and fabric. Just an idea. You are right, they are soooo expensive. I will probably do something like that.

Franca- I know lots of women who had a high risk of ds and then the baby was perfect! One girl even had so many high risk factors that her Dr told her it would be wise to terminate! She didn't and her DS was born perfect! So chin up honey...your baby will be just fine!

Hazel- I'm contemplating animals theme too! I love it! There is so much you can do with it...colors and decals and such. FUN FUN FUN!

Babyluv- yeah for a great HR apt. I love going to the HR doc. So much better than the regular OB for me. The detail in the machines are fab!

AFM- Today we got to do a maternity orientation tour at our hospital. I was on the waiting list to get in and finally got a spot as of yesterday afternoon. It was really cool. At least it will all look a bit familiar to me when it's finally my turn. A lot of mommies looked like they were ready to pop! I was told we were supposed to take the tour in the first trimester. Even I am a bit late. I guess they really procrastinated. There was this one couple there...the guy was such a douche bag! After the lecture part, before the tour part, he loudly said he would rather be anywhere else but there. I was like wow....you are gonna be such a great, supportive dad!  Jack@ss. He kept making crappy comments the whole time. I felt really bad for the mommy-to-be who looked miserable. He didn't even enter the rooms most of the time. It was very obvious he didn't care. Amazing...but I guess there really all types in the world. :(
My next OB is on Monday...I'm so nervous. I feel like I'm not getting bigger. I looked on line at pics of bellies at 14.5w and they look MUCH bigger than me! I mean, I'm still down 8lbs. Did you first time mommies have tummies by 14.5w? Oh how I wish it was monday so I could see the little flicker of a heartbeat and see my baby move.
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Hugs to you all!

Pa - Believe it or not, there is no Michaels here and I really don't want to order anything off the net so I can have it NOW! lol I was surprise Hobby Lobby didn't have plain blocks. It works out though, Andrew is excited to do the letters himself and have something for them that he made. He is cutting them out right now actually. :) Plus, this only cost us $2.86 in one long piece of wood. lol Gotta love how cheap that is. Right now, I will just paint them and gloss them. I was thinking about adding bows or something, but that will take more thought and something I can always add later. As for you baby mama, don't worry about your belly being on th small side. First time moms don't show as fast as moms who have had babies. I have two friends who are due the same exact day. One is on her first, the other her second and of course the one who is on her first hardly looks pregnant at all while the other is huge! lol They are 5 weeks behind me to the day so yeah, at 14 or ven 15 weeks, you are just fine! Sorry to hear about Mr. Jackass. Some people! And that poor mom to be having someone like that for baby daddy. Have fun at your appt, I am sure everything is perfect! :)

Franca – I am so happy to hear that you and your bundle of joy are doing well. I was thinking of you so I sent you a private message … I just get a little nervous when I don’t hear from my girls. I understand what you mean about the sad news but I look at it this way, we can help each other through a very, very tough time. I know when I lost my daughter, I looked at this site for so much support because if anyone understood it would be you wonderful ladies! I just read you next post about your downs test and I am positive that everything will be just fine!

Please stay with us and continue to post with your updates. I look forward to going through everyone’s pregnancy with them!

Hazel – I love your nursery! I surely hope you aren’t too uncomfortable right now. I keep jumping on this website to check to see if Zorba has arrived! I am sure I am just as anxious as you are to finally see your bundle of joy!

Natasha – you are right … I try to think about the shots in a good way and how they are helping Gabriella but they hurt so darn bad.

Katie – Yes, you are so right. It is very distracting to have a rental car but the good news is that they called to say that I will have my car back Monday afternoon, right before we leave on our vacation.

Babyluv – that is fantastic news about your HR appointment! The babies are growing, growing, growing. So, I guess we will see what your doc says about the bed rest very soon!

Stephanie – Oh, I am so sorry to hear that you are uncomfortable. I surely hope you are able to get some relief from here on out. I think your daughter is just so cute. Tell her that it will be alright when she goes back to school. I know she is just excited and a little nervous, which is so natural. I remember feeling that way before each school year too.

Hope – I think it is perfectly fine to have a second shower especially if you are having a baby that is another sex. I just read another article about this same topic and the census was the same thing. I think a shower is also a personal decision but I personally would have no problem with it.

Claudia – I am happy that you are enjoying your evening with your brother for his birthday. You are supposed to be slowing down your schedule now … lol. I am just kidding! I know it is almost impossible to do sometimes!

PA_FA – I started laughing when I read your post about going for your hospital orientation … I even told my DH because he is such a procrastinator that I keep saying we need to go for ours and he says we can do it later. You are 14 weeks and already have completed yours and I am 22 weeks and haven’t even made a reservation … lol. I normally just ignore him and make plans anyway because I hate waiting until the last minute but my problem is my hospital is an hour away and every time we are there we already have a 3 plus hour appointment on a day that I have to work, so I am rushed. I told him that I am going to be delivering Gabriella and not even know where to go … lol. Of course he laughed as he normally does! I promise myself that I will make that appointment before I turn 27 weeks … lol.

AFM – Well, my DH is super excited about our little get away next week but I keep saying to myself … how much fun will I really have. No drinking, so the bars and night clubs are out, I can’t walk more than a few minutes , so site seeing is limited and I think I need oxygen when I overdo it because I am extremely winded, and now I am at the point where I become very dizzy and lightheaded. I know I shouldn’t think of it that way but we do not normally do many activities when we are at home but when we go on vacation we normally really party and really enjoy ourselves. This will be an interesting trip. I promise myself I will not ruin this for him so I will be a team player!

Angela- I too had to laugh and read your post to my DH. LOL I can't believe your hospital is over an hour away! That would freak me out! What are you going to do when you get close to the due date? I guess an hour is not that far...mine is almost 30 mins. But still....the idea of traffic and a blizzard freak me out. :) Make that apt! It really was kind of fun. Especially seeing the nursery. There were 4 babies that were in there at the time. Our L&D nurse/instructor went in and picked one up and held her up for us all to see. I got teary eyed (of course) because I just can't wait to have my own little bundle of squirming joy. :) I can't wait for us all to have that! OK enough rambling for me....make that apt! You can make it for later...just make it and get it on the calendar. :D

Hello ladies!!!

Lou-I am so sorry it's a BFN this time-I have you in my thoughts and prayers for a successful FET. Take care of yourself ;)

Karen-It was good to hear from you, we miss you  It sounds like your doc. has a good plan in place for you. I wish you all the best!

Katie and Hazel-I love the nurseries-beautiful  Your gorgeous babies now have rooms fit for them  Hazel, you are so close-I'm so excited for you!

Babyluv-I'm glad to here you've had good news and can possibly get off bedrest-got my fingers crossed for you.

Stephanie- I loved the belly and beautiful daughter pics! I know it's hard to "enjoy" pregnancy with all the fun things that come with it. I hope the twins take it easy on their mama these next few weeks!

Angela-You have had some rough times lately-agh! Gabriella is doing well so hopefully it makes that annoying stuff fade away.

Claudia-Time does fly by when you're busy :) Glad Flick is still gracing you with crazy dance moves and punches! Can't wait to see the growing belly.

PA FA-The nerve of some people-I'm SURE her butt was super big and she had no right to be so rude.

Natasha-So you are done with the shots finally? Yeah! Hope you are feeling well.

Franca-So glad you are doing well. Don't worry too much about the Downs test-it's a small percentage so it may be nothing at all. Take care.

Hope-I was a little worried about doing a second shower but my friend insists that everyone will be excited, not put off, by coming. My DD is six and I'm having twins so I do have some needs but still kind of worried. We have a friend who just had her 5th child (they are all under the age of 5) and she had a shower for each child-to celebrate the arrival. You go for it!

AFM-I started back to work last week and it has been a tiring whirlwind! I have 23 second graders this year-they seem wonderful. Hope that stays the same and isn't just a honeymoon period  We have also been busy trying to put together the nursery, register for showers, and just keep up with the day-to-day stuff. I've also been trying to help out my best friend-her 5 year old daughter was just diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. They are doing amazing but it has been trying for her.

I'm glad everyone is doing well (or as well as you can do when your big, winded, peeing constantly, battling heartburn, fighting BH contractions all day, and can't get comfortable to sleep). I think of you all always and hope you take very good care!

Hey Sara- Good luck with the new school year. I hope it stays coolish for you. I remember how hot it gets there. What part of KS are you in? I was born and raised in Wichita. Then lived in KC for a few years before moving out toward the East Coast. Can't wait till it stays under 80 for you there. :)

Sara - Good luck with the school year! Hope you can make it as long as possible. I have a lot of respect for teachers in general, but can't imagine teaching at this point of the twin pregnancy! You are super woman!! My hubby is from KC, so we have lots of Chiefs stuff around here...fingers crossed for a better year :D

PA - That husband is such a jerk!! Is this what happens when you don't have to struggle to have a baby?? So glad you got your tour out of the way.

Angela - I haven't taken the hospital tour either!! I plan to make that appointment this week, and DH can just wheel me around :D

Franca - Lots of prayers for your little one. LIke others have said, those screenings seem to really just scare people. I know of several friends who have had soft markers for downs and positive screens, but their kids never did have it. Regardless, I really believe you have a wonderful attitude...this is YOUR baby no matter what...and you will love him/her just the same.

Katie - I like being busy, but I've also learned to just sit and relax a lot, which is why this modified bed rest hasn't been too bad (plus it's been nice to have the break!). Now STRICT bed rest would be a whole different story!!

Steph - I felt like one of the babies was trying to crush my right ovary last night! Seriously, what are they doing in there??! And yes, you definitely are making super babies! I hope they move a little so you can get some rest.

Hope - Does it make you feel any better that I just had my THIRD shower??? Or should I say FIFTH?? I had two when we adopted Alex, one with Scarlett, and will have two with the twins. With Scarlett my friends wanted to throw one since I was having a different gender. I told them they didn't need to throw anymore after that, so I didn't expect one. However, they wanted to since I was going to have newborns this time and we don't have anything for newborns (well, some things, but not a lot). Then another friend offered one, so I am having two. Each one is more fun than the last. I think they are a great way to celebrate each child, but can be done differently if you want. For example, you could have a pamper the mom shower, a diapers shower, etc.

Claudia - Glad you are doing well and can still keep going! Amazing!

AFM - Today my baby girl turned three!! I sent Darren out to get her a power wheels type of car (MUST be pink or purple since she gets all of Alex's hand me down toys and MUST be a two seater), and what does he come back with? The Pink Escalade complete with working radio!! WHAT?! He had her play in all the cars and kept asking which one she liked the best. SHOCKER that she picked that one (mostly because it has working doors). She didn't know he was buying it and we gave it to her yesterday. She and Alex want to be in it all the time now! Alex has been wanting the black one and keeps asking when he's getting his, but it's not gonna happen. We just took his training wheels off and he needs to keep practicing on his bike anyway. I'm telling you, Scarlett has her Daddy wrapped up! I can only imagine what will happen when there are THREE little girls around!
Me - 30

Hey ladies,
sorry i have been mia didnt have access to computer this wk so i will attempt to do personals since i am soooo far behind!!

Babyluv Happy 3rd Birthday to Scarlett!! My nephews 3rd birthday party was today (he is 3 tomorrow) and we had a bbq, my dad bought him an electric mini cooper and he thinks he is the bees knees!! How old your your little ones when you adopted them??

Sara how long will you be working before you go on maternity leave?? Hopefully your class will stay well behaved!

Steph your pics are gorgous you and Alex look so alike. She is going to be such a blessing when the twins are born cant believe school is starting already doesnt time fly by. Will you be on your own then for most of the day, i do hope one of the other army wifes pops in and checks on you. You poor divil i cant imagine how uncomfortable you are feeling now esp with twins, i am sore at times esp if sitting in uncomfortable chair for too long so i cant even think how you are.

Katie your room looks gorgous, busy bodies like your friend can be annoying when they say things like that. Everyone has different tastes and a baby room can never look too cartoon like!!!

Franca i know you are prob. disappointed with the results but its only a number and the odds are still highly in your favour for a healthy baby, we dont do tests like that here thankfully as its only another thing to worry about. Its great to see you are now 14 wks soon you will feel the baby move!!

PA how cool it must be to have a hospital tour!! That man sounds like such a twat his poor wife is gonna have her hands full as he sounds like a lazy bum i would kill jason if he talked like that!! Best of luck tomorrow with us

Karen i am so glad to hear you are getting that abdoniminal cerlage, i think about you regularly and your little angel babies xxxx

Angela enjoy your break away dont worry i too cant walk around for very long i ache after about 30 min, dont try keep up with dh he knows how you are feeling and will want you too be as comfortable as possible.

Claud so flick is still kicking up a storm, i bet your bump is so cute!!

AFM Cant believe i am 28wks!!!! Fingers crossed everything is going smoothly so far, she kicks like crazy and her new craze is lung kicks i get so winded when she does this her bum/head really sticks out on my belly and its sooo uncomfortable but sooo funny to watch! Gi glad you are doing well, despite the lung kicks! We had a wedding yesterday and I we left as soon as we finished dinner. Good luck with the rest of yours! To answer your question, Alex was 18 months and Scarlett was 6 months old when we brought them home. Really great ages.

babyluv those are lovely ages, my favourite ages is 2-4 yrs when they come out with the most innocent thinks jason and I took my nephew yesterday to let him pick out is present and jason thought he was hillarious! Arent weddings tiresome when pg!! I had one at 24 wks and left at 9pm, my friend is getting married and i hope i can nip out after the 1st dance but jasons brother is getting married the next day and i dont think i can get away with leaving early  but we are staying overnight in the hotel so i will be nipping up to the room to lie down if i get too uncomfortable, then we have another wedding at 32 wks i will prob.leave not long after dinner, are weddings over there as long as over here???? Usually the ceremony starts at 1:30 pm, then reception and 1st dance around 10pm...long long days esp when sober ha ha

hello lovelies.

2 days to post within a single week... well, my DH took my DS to the lake today and to visit his brothers, so i'm all alone. went out shopping - dont' know what i was thinking - trying to marathon shop. by the last store, i was literally sitting in the floor looking at thomas the tank engine stuff. I couldn't stand anymore. my feet and back are killing me. my chiropractor said to be sure i walked - but i dont' think she meant shopping for 6 hours straight, eh? oh well, put a hurtin' on the credit cards, but knocked out a ton of christmas and birthday gifts, along with a few items for baby's nursery. YAY! btw, if anyone is intereted - AC Moore has all their Melissa & Doug toys on sale thru the 28th for 40% off! - I think I bought one of nearly every puzzle they have! plus the cookie set! ;)

all your nursery posts and pics (which are all fantastic, btw - so cute and sweet!!) have got me going. the only problem is that my DH is trying to decide if we are going to move 2 of our boys out of the largest bedroom and put the nursery in there. Since they don't live here full time, and we can bunk their beds, he is thinking we will... but we can't get started until he decides for sure. i feel bad knocking them out of their room, but the rarely spend any time in it when they are here anyway - and the baby will have a lot more stuff, nursery stuff, plus, she's the only girl! But it's going to require a lot of work and paint to make it happen. ugh. we gotta get going! The good news is that the nursery theme/plan is set. We are doing an Eric Carle nursery. I have the fabrics for curtains and am using some for some wall decor and my mom is making her baby quilt out of eric carle fabrics. I have the canvasses to paint but I haven't started a single one. My DS's room is Dr. Seuss. My mom made his quilt and curtains and I painted 9 canvasses to look like book covers. but.... i didn't have anyone distracting me then!! I had wanted to paint the walls, but DH was worried i'd fall ... so I gave in and painted the book covers at the kitchen table. I feel badly cos she is going to have way more wall space and I dont' think i'll get them all done before she arrives... shoulda been doing that today instead of shopping my arse off. well, what will be will be...

thanks for all your thoughts and ideas about the shower - i really love the sprinkle idea, steph! i imagine cupcakes with sprinkles everywhere - (hey whaddya expect, everything brings me back to food these days, especially if it's sweet!!) ;) You all have made me feel much better about the idea. I talked to my mom though... and i think we are going to do a Sip & See. Since my family lives 5 hrs away and September isn't an option due to other plans and short time for planning - and I'm not supposed to travel for the whole month of October - so.... we decided to wait until the baby is born and when she is about a month or 2 old, we'll have a Sip & See - fun, fruity drinks, light food, and everyone gets to see the baby too! I still have a ton of friends and family there, and since we live so far away - it's kind of nice to let them see her rather than just seeing big ol' me. :) Thanks again for your support & thoughts!!

Sorry for no personals, gotta get these tired feet to bed. Tomorrow is my 7 year anniversary... and my DH is still going to be at the lake with DS.... probably won't get to see either of them. :( oh well - Happy Anniversary sweetie! ;) Not like we were gonna paint the town red anyway!
