Yes Blair that was me. I was thinking the same thing about you being behind curtain number 2 (LOL). Just got home and relaxing. The embryo did thaw so I am hoping that it will stick. Good luck on your transfer. With our last fresh transfer, we had three and the other two didn't look as if they would make it through freezing so we transferred three also. So with this frozen transfer, we had that one strong one that they didn't think would make it hang in there. Anyways, I believe I will go to my hospital (where I work) Sunday for my HCG. I can't wait til after the holiday. NO WAY!!! PUPO!!!

Hi Ladies

Kizmet - thats great! Congratulations :)

Blair: Three sounds wonderful - and pretty sure one of those is going to be super sticky. 11 days of PUPO and then Mama to look forward too!

Thanks for all the support. Still feeling pretty rough. Am off work again today licking wounds. I'm really sorry to you all to keep hashing it over. Feels so raw this time - maybe because had so much build up - a whole year of waiting for DH to stop smoking so we could start again after all the previous fails - and then so suddently it is all over - and I'm not ready for it to be. Every other failure - I've kind of known there was one more try or something in the wings. And now I can't see anything. It doesn't mean I love maia ny less. But the pain of it doesn't seem lessened. Yes I'll definately keep checking in with you all . . .I wasn't thinking of deserting . . .just know I need bit of hibernation time.

Well...turns out I actually have to wait 14 days for my first beta. The office is closed sept 6 for the holiday weekend, so no beta until sept 7. I am sure I will end up testing long before that. Now I just have to decide how long I can put off POAS.

Thought I'd repost the dates for everyone, let me know if I've missed anyone or got them wrong.

Blairwh58 - 2WW Beta 9/7

Jersey Jane - 2WW - 8/31

Itsmyturn - BFP!!!

Kizmet - BFP!!!

Yarnista - 2WW Beta 8/30

Kywildcat - 2WW Beta 9/7

Melo and Melmar - Hugs from all of us during this tough time, know we are all here for you.

AFM - no ultrasound scheduled yet. The redo the beta once a week up to six weeks at my clinic before they do the ultrasound. Now of course, I'm hopelessly nervous about all the things that can and do go wrong, but over the moon at the same time. My biggest concern right now is telling DH's kids and the friend that I'd told we weren't doing the IVF til next year, I literally lied straight to her face, hopefully she'll understand. If not, I guess there's not much I can do about that. Thanks to all of you for your congrats and your support, it means the world to me.

Kizmet- thanks for posting the updates. I believe kywildcat has her beta sept 7 like me. We were at the same office and transferred 20 min apart. As for your friends I am sure they will understand. We have honestly lied to almost everyone. Telling them we are just waiting until DH finishes his 1st year of residency, or just figuring things out. Basically not even admitting we have even been trying to get pregnant. Anyway- I am sure your friend will understand. Hopefully all of our family and friends will get over the initial anger....or else we may be all alone on this.

Kywildcat - Congratulations on being PUPO! Best of luck to you.

Kizmet - When did you finally test positive on HPT's? I think you had some negatives at first correct? How do you feel, any symptoms yet?

Blair - How are you feeling?

AFM - I had slight cramps all morning which is why I stupidly tested so early. Hopefully Friday will have a better outcome for me.

JerseyJane - I had negative (or like I said, if you squint and hold your tongue out the side of your mouth while holding it to the light) on Saturday which was 8dp5dt (if you say transfer day is day 0), and positive on Sunday 9dp5dt. Good luck! I had cramping the whole time, still do, so I wouldn't be overly worried about it. That's why I stupidly tested on Saturday instead of holding out til sunday like I promised myself the whole time.

I had my newly pregnant (naturally) friend email yesterday to say that she has done 4 tests - in 6 weeks and she thought that was a lot. I was thinking "if only you knew I'd done 5 in a week!!!"

Just wanted you to know that I keep checking in with you girls and couldn't be happier for you all! Like Melo-I am just listening right now, but just don't have much to offer, so I am like the silent partner:) I am starting my intense exercise regiment again starting tomorrow to see if I can lose the last of my twin pregnancy and go back to work a new woman...of course it should be harder now that I have eaten everything in my kitchen in the last two days...but at least I know there is nothing left, so it should make dieting easier. Made a hair appt ofr Tuesday in the city to get my hair and lunch with the girls-should be fun. Anyway-just wanted to let you know I am still here and will jump in from time to time!!

Love ya guys and thank you for all of your support-I will keep you updated with meeting with re next Thursday...keep those BFP coming!!

melop, i had the same feeling you had on my last try. Beta came back at 7!!! i did directly another test the next day and it came back at 3. So i was more comfortable to stop the med!!my doc explained me that late implantation occurs at the latest at 12dpo and the hgc can be detected 2 days afterwards, implantation happening later than that, it s abnormal embryo! did you stop the med yet? i am looking foward to your next appointement on tuesday!!!let us know what are your next move!! send you lots of hugs xxxxxxxx

Melmar, you sound very positive!!! it s great to see that you are doing nice things for yourself!!! you are so strong!!!keep up with the good vibe, and let us know, when is your next try!!

Blair, kywildcat, Congratulation girls!!!! at least one of the 3 have to stick!!!i was about to put 3 also on my transfer but got a bit concern thinking that the 3 might take!! at the same time my big dream it s to have twins, so that would have increased my odds very much!!! so when are you planning on POAS?

Jersey jane, that was way too early!!! did you say you are planning on testing next friday? i am so excited for you!!! getting closer everyday!!! i am praying for the good news!

Kizmet, that s awesome!!great numbers!! CONGRATULATION!!!! so when is your due date? i think we are 4 days apart, arent we? i am so anxious for my next appointement. It s like i am so paranoid all the time that something will go wrong!! i just want to see the sac, the yolk and the heart!!!! then i will start telling my family. It s always about waiting, and that is killing me!!!!so what do you mean about beta once a week till the 6 weeks! you ll be 6 weeks in 2 weeks anyway!!or do you mean 6 weeks from conception?

Kizmet - Thanks and hopefully I'll follow your lead. Yesterday was 5 days past my transfer, I was kind of hoping since they are blasts they implanted and I'd be able to detect the hormone already. I guess not. Friday will be 8 days past day 6 transfer so hopefully it will be better, if not I'll try once again on Sunday 10 days past. Then I'll be done and just wait for the beta on Tuesday.

Itsmyturn - Thank you and I hope your right that it was way too early. I guess get pessimistic sometimes about frozen at least for myself. Every fresh cycle that I have done has resulted in BFP, and I have done 1 frozen in the past which was BFN so I start to think "maybe my body doesn't respond well to frozen" but I guess I just will have to wait and see.

Melmar - You sound much better. I've been thinking of you both you and Melo. Glad to hear about the new workout regime, good luck! When do you go back to school?

Blair - How are you feeling today? That sucks that you'll have to wait an extra day for your beta. My clinic is open 365 days a year, on holidays they open from 7 - 11 which I think is pretty great on their part.

Yarnista - When are you planning to test again? I am going to wait til Friday. We are pretty much on the same schedule because you had a 3 day transfer, and I transfered 2 blasts 2 days after you.

AFM - Nothing much going on here. Getting my mind prepared to actually go back to work next week, ughhhh. I have gotten quited spoiled being off for the whole summer. I can't believe my beta is less than a week away. It is actually going pretty quickly.

jersey- Nothing too exciting here with me. Working from home today (i.e. laying in bed with my laptop). Already ready to get up and move around, but I have a few more days of this. Even though some clinics dont even recommend bedrest, ours says 3 days after the transfer so I still have awhile before I can get up and move around. I wish my clinic was open for 365 days but they close every holiday for a day or two. Since there are only about 5 people who work in the office its pretty small. Keep your head up and wait a few days before you test again because 5 days was way too soon. Good Luck.

kizmet- How are things going with you? When did you say your next appt is?

melmar- SO jealous that you have motivation to get back on a workout routine. DH and I have been trying to walk 2 miles every night and have been pretty consistent for past year and a half but once his residency started that all went out the window.

melo-Hope all is going well with you. I cant wait to hear about the next steps.

itsmyturn- to be honest I would be more than happy with twins, but if all 3 take I will be beyond overwhelmed. The only reason we put the third in is because the MD said it wasnt as good looking as the others. As for POAS...I want to try and wait as long as possible so to avoid disappointment. We are actually having our bathroom remodeled next week so maybe when that is finished I will try to test. 14 days seems like forever away though.

AFM- Day 1 at home alone...work, tv, and lounging. Was watching the show Bringing Home Multiples- hoping it wasnt a sign. The couple had 1 failed IVF, and on the second attempt ended up pregnant with triplets. I guess we will see but I would be over the moon with 1.

Rather than doing individual comments, here's a general discussion that I've just kind of noticed from our conversations.

Isn't it odd HOW different the things we are told we can and can't do by the different clinics is? Blair's on 3 days bedrest - my clinic says do what you like when you like. From one of the other threads, someone said no sex in the 2ww and others until the first ultrasound - my clinic says not for 24 hours after the transfer. Some say no exercise, some say whatever you normally do. Interesting don't you think? In reality, women get pregnant all the time and simply don't know it and keep doing whatever it is they normally do and go on to have healthy normal pregnancies - despite having ran a marathon, had wild sex and taken a spa and a sauna. Here we are, too afraid to talk too loud, "just in case". It's kind of horrifying just knowing all the details because if we weren't doing IVF, we simply wouldn't really have a clue. Anyway, that's just my observations.

JerseyJane, I vote you hang out on POAS until Sunday. It's not worth the trauma. Trust me - this is coming from someone who threw the world's biggest fit about the BFN when I'd simply gone too early.

Itsmyturn - EDD I think will be May 1 exactly three days before my birthday and three days after my step daughter's. I felt like that was a bit of an omen when I figured that out before the transfer! You know, I don't actually know when the 6 weeks is, I was thinking about it this morning. Hopefully it's sooner rather than later.

AFM - Feeling just, well normal. Finally feel like me again without a whole bag full of hormone induced emotions dragging me down. Now that I have the BFP, my concern has moved on to "what if I eat the wrong thing?" "what if my work has an effect on the baby?" "what if I get the flu?" "what if I pick up something just too heavy?"...blah, blah, blah, you get the drift. It's different the sadness that I felt when I was anticipating a BFN, this is more like stress. DH is trying to calm me down, saying that's not going to help, but now I feel responsible for everything that can happen to Bean. Mind you despite DH trying to calm me down, he's not helping when he won't let me do anything! I wasn't even allowed to help bring in the firewood last night! Dinner and a movie tonight, so that should take my mind off it...assuming I don't get food poisoning from the meal and I don't fall down the steps at the cinema....you see the world has suddenly become a mine field! LOL

I second kizmets idea to make a general discussion. It does seem very weird that clinics differ so much on what they recommend for their patients. Sex, eatting, bedrest...there are tons of variations. When I told DH I didn't really know why I had to be on bedrest for so long, and that normal people don't do anything of the sort- he explained that normal people also don't pay 10 grand to make a baby. Guess he is right. I will do whatever crazy things they tell me if it means ill be bringing home a baby or two in 9 months.

AFM- my due date I believe would actually be May 12- 5 days after nephews birthday, 4 days after my birthday, 3 days before stepdads birthday, and 6 days before stepsis birthday. After always saying I didn't want a May baby I think it must have been meant to be. Day 1 of bedrest down- long and boring day. How are things with everyone?

Kizmet - Well put! You are 100% correct. The worst is when I read that someone has different instructions for the 2ww than me, I say to myself " Oh no, maybe I should've done that?" It's terible. When I read from Blair and Melmar about the no stairs climbing I was like, "Oh shit, I have been doing stairs this whole time, my bedroom is on the 2nd floor of the house." My clinic only says not to do excessive stair climbing whatever that means.

Blair - Glad day 1 is over. Only 2 more to go.

OH NO, I missed the bit about stair climbing! I work in a 5 story building and go up and down the stairs all day long!

See this is the problem! I climbed stairs plenty during the 2ww, didn't eat any pineapples, and yes, had sex, and I got a BFP, but that doesn't mean that these things aren't going to affect anyone else. It's tough, but at the end of the day, I think we each have to make our own decisions on what we should and shouldn't be doing. When I thought I was going to have a BFN, I was quite convinced it was because I'd eaten soft cheese or that because I'd been so busting to go to the loo at transfer, that I'd somehow pushed Bean straight back out again. I actually like the liberal view that my clinic has on this - basically do whatever YOU feel comfortable with. Heck, they even say it's fine to come in for the transfer and then go back to work if that's what YOUR comfortable with.

It's all so frustrating - the more you read, the more you panic sometimes!

Edited to add: just found this, and I think we all might need to buy one eventually! http://www.cafepress.com.au/dd/8503201
