Hey girls,

Bei glad to hear you are feeling a little bit more human and your ticker is 15wks!!!! No i am not allowed to do any exercise which at 1st was really hard as i normally work out 5-6 days a wk but hey its worth it and my lil sis is getting married next yr so have something to motivate me after the birth!!

Franca i only had cramping at right up to 17 wks (thats when i came of progesterone) other than that nothing but a growing belly, never had morning sickness, cravings, maybe slightly tender boobs but again i think that was the progesterone. I didnt really feel movement till about 19/20 wks. Round ligament pain started at around 17 wks. I suppose everyone has different symptoms dont worry you will be fine.

PA ah isnt it so disappointing when you think you are getting an u/s then you dont, my next appt is wed wk and i really hope i get to see her again even though its only been 5 wks it feels like ages....sorry Katie you seem to be waiting forever!!!

babyluv yuk acid reflux oh the joys of pregnancy...hmm hopefully i will escape that too :D oh and when i said the 1st dance at a wedding starts at around 10pm that means:2 the wedding could go on to about 2pm then you could end up in a residence bar so typically Irish weddings start at around 1:30 pm and end around 2am!!!

Angela you must be getting so uncomfortable now! If i am in my recliner or reading in bed i can sit for hours but after about 45 mins on a normal wooden chair i start to get crampy/achy around the sides of my bump cant imagine how it will be in 10 wks  23 wks tomorrow!!!! You must be excited.

AFM so finished off the rest of nursery/baby shopping today will keep jason busy for a while...if only he would get started though he promised this sat, he really is a last minute guy but if it was something like an Xbox now that would be a priority!!!! my mam painted the room today and its lovely cant wait for it all to come together. Kayla still as busy as ever and jason loves putting his cheek on my bump and getting a strong kick to the face, he had a poking game with her last night and thought it was hillarious it really melts my heart to see him so happy he has wanted a baby since he was 18 and we are (please God) only 12 wks away from meeting our miracle.

gi xxx
7th IVF finally our precious miracle girl Kayla born 24/11/10, 8th IVF FET Sept 2012 BFP!!!

Gi - Haha so Jason thinks he's funny mooning you via the video monitor! Yippee for pics soon, I cant wait to see them. Now if J will get the room put together soon, that would be good too. Yeah, Chris is the same, if it had to do with xbox, well THATS important - heee hee. Holy Moley - you've just got 12 weeks left now! Eeeek, I'm getting to feel clueless again...

Steph - I cant wait to hear what the babies weighed today! Aw letters made by dad's own hands are so much more special, those are keepsakes now. Oh, Alex got a super deal for $75 - highlights, lowlights & base color? I started doing my own again since the salon i go to here wants 150-200 for that much color - crazy prices! plus the last time I let them do it, I was NOT impressed at all. I switched to a med ash blonde and it comes out pretty nice for a lot less  When i had it really light there was no choice but to pay what they wanted. Ok, so now should i be hoping that they tell you bed rest so that Andrew gets to stay home with you? I was laughing my ass off at poor Alex's fear of that baby monitor making its way into her room someday - I think she's a good girl though so you shouldnt have to worry too much, right? How was her day at school yesterday? Bet she's super happy to be answering to Ford

Hazel - its freaking me out that your ticker is saying just 14 days left! Eeeekkk!!! How are you felling mama?

Pa-FA - Baby furniture was a lot of research! We went with the Davinci brand, Kalani style in espresso color. Its a 4 way convertable, so it should be here for a long time. We also picked up the additional bed rails to convert it to a full size bed so that we didnt have to try and hunt them down in a few years, I was thinking with my luck, we wont be able to find them years later when we need them  What I can say is read all the reviews! BRU has so many reviews and I got alot of info that way. We looked at BRU and Buy Buy Baby to see the items in person, then once we chose which furniture, Chris found an online store with the exact items for 300 less! I've found that BRU charges more for the same things we purchased elsewhere. This goes for all things, BTW, furniture, strollers, gliders, baby swings, etc. For furniture we got it through http://simplybabyfurniture.com and not only was the whole set 300 less, we paid no sales tax, and shipping was free - we got it in about a week. Now 1 piece was damaged, but they cleared it up with 1 phone call (we emailed them pics of the damage) and the replacement part was in my driveway in a week, so hooray for that. I'm not slamming BRU, I'm just saying when you buy sooooo many things at one time, even with the 20% off coupons, I was still seeing a big difference in price. Example at BRU the Fisher Price my little lamb swing is 159.99 we got at walmart online for 97.00 - so thats worth doing some comparison shopping over. Just take your time, cause you'll be looking at this furniture for a long time

Babyluv - i havent had, or heard of a cold feeling in the chest/ throat area, but I'm really way too familiar with reflux. I take a zantac am & pm and if I'm dying in between that I'll resort to tums if I have to. My OB ok'd the zantac, but only twice per day. And try to sleep elevated, ugh, it helps a little.

Angela - Oh, i love the story of how you met your DH! He must have been pining over you for awhile to have proposed in just a week!
Have a fun and safe trip mama.

Bei - Glad to hear that you're feeling better there twim mama! I hope the rest of your nausea subsides soon!

Franca - At 14 weeks I was feeling pretty good, I only had nasea feom 7-11 weeks, so that was gone and the only thing that was bugging me was the super tired feeling which lasted til about 16-17 weeks.

AFM - I am so lazy today! I got nothing done today, but I dont care. What? its ok I'm pregnant and we're allowed to have some lazy days, arent we? haha actually its 4:00 and I'm still in my pajamas!!!

Katie - No bed rest, you will read why in my update. lol Alex is loving school. She even has a boyfriend and made 5 new friends. Also, no homework yet so that has her jumping for joy. You are allowed to have a bum day every day. lol I do most days. Unless I have plans or intend to have plans (I'm a big procrastinator) I don't get ready and just lounge all day.

Gi - That is so cute that Kayla is kicking daddy in the face. lol Andrew likes to lay on my belly and get a few kicks and punches to the head too. He will let out a little giggle and when I ask what that was for, he tells me it was a nice strong kick to the noggin. lol So the nursery is painted and will be all done soon! I am waiting on the finishing touches to mine. It's a great feeling to see it all together. :)

Angela - So you are having the pelvic pain/pressure now? I have been feeling that for a while now. Fun huh? I hope you both enjoy yourself on your vaca and hopefully that pain will leave you alone while you are trying to have fun. :)

Franca - Never a pain! :) At 14 weeks you should start to feel prety darn good! Once the placenta takes over progesterone and estrogen your body no longer has to which stops the morning sickness... for most. So you get your energy back and you aren't sick anymore. The second trimester is suppose to be the best most enjoyable time so do just that... enjoy it!

Pa - LMAO Buttprint! Funny! Unfortunately no naked hot guy this time. He was a bit tired and cranky last night. lol So he taped and I painted. Oh well.. I get a glimpse at night time usually. lol Good choice to go with the convertable. It is really easy to go from one to the other. Though if you go with a 4 in one, the rails for the twin convertion is normally sold seperately so that is something to look into getting if you go that route. :)

So I went to my OB appt today. I am measuring 40 weeks, so I have a full term belly now. Up from 35cm less than 2 weeks ago and gained 3 pounds so now I have gained 10lbs. Also, based on the peri's report of 1300 grams two weeks ago, estimated weight of the babies now, he is guessing about 3 1/2lbs. We talked about all the BH and he said that it is normal for me since my uterus is so large. He isn't a big believer in bedrest, so he said just to take it easy and rest when they start getting crazy. No reason to give me any shots or anything since I am not showing signs of premaure labor. He is pretty optimistic, yet still lets me know how serious a previa can be. Of course, if I have any bleeding or spotting to go to the hospital and I will likely stay in the hospital at that point if that happens. The babies are now in a different position. Angelina is now head on my left side and across the top of my belly while Ethan is under her with his head on my left side so both of their feet are kicking my right side. No wonder that's most of what I feel lately. lol

As for the room... what a pain in the arse to put that paint rail on. Never ever buy cheap paint! The wall paint I got was Behr, the number one brand. He got a generic brand for the pints. So the latex paint ripped off the wall when we took the tape off. I had to manually try to fix it and paint straight lines. That is so so so hard to do. I messed up a few times but in the end, it doesn't look all that bad. Just like the letters, there are a few imperfections, though his are less noticable. lol Anyway, I will get pictures soon hopefully!

Ok, so here is the nursery now. All we are waiting for are the panels for the big window and the rugs that will go in front of their cribs to brighten the dull floor up. Alex gave the babies some of her old stuffies so we put them on the shelves with the names. Above the shelves on the wall is ultrasound pics framed with messages from friends. Something they did for me at the shower. :) I know these are big but I didn't feel like messing with the size tonight. lol

Steph - Oh, honey I love, love, love how your nursery turned out! I think Andrew did an outstanding job on the letters! This makes them so much more special, and the valances look so cute. You're all ready now, I see you even have little outfits ready and waiting for them. Are those their "going home" outfits?
Chris put the glider together today and thankfully it wasnt too bad, he only ripped out 2 handfuls of hair - just kidding, but wow adding that 1 last piece really ate up what little space was left in the nursery. Its comfy though, but I guess it has to be, since we'll most likely spent more time sleeping in it than our bed.lol

Alex has a boyfriend? Aw thats so sweet. Was this someone she knew before school started, or were the boys just falling at her feet already? And I think to make 5 new friends on the first day back? Well that sure constitutes a an awesome day, yes? Now whats going on with these super babies you're carrying? I cant believe you're measuring at 40 weeks! they sure are growing fast in there - are you eating miracle grow? heeeheee 3.5 lbs is great and now you're so close to being 30 weeks - with them being that size, can we all breathe a sigh of relief now, or just not yet? Ah, so now both babies have decided to gang up on you and kick you in the same spot, hmmm, they must sense that you're outnumbered. Wait til they meet daddy. You know twins have such a special bond, I hope this isnt some insight to mischief they'll try to put over on you both in years to come - heeeheee - xoxoxo

Franca- We are at the same point. I am only 4 days ahead of you. I feel fine too which really freaks me out sometimes. I feel like I should feel worse...but as they say, the second trimester really is the honeymoon period I guess. :) Sometimes when I get up too fast or change position I feel a pull in my stomach. I guess it's just muscles stretching. :?:
Keep those questions coming. We are all here for each other. I know I'm going to bug you all for the next 6 months. :)

Angela- I'm high risk for a couple of reasons...at 6w I started bleeding/spotting on the plane while I was flying to Ireland. It was so scary. I was sure I was going to lose the baby. The Dr we called on the radio told me to lay down and drink lots of water. I was to stay on the overnight with my crew and ride back home as a passenger. So that's what I did. I laid down and cried the entire way to Shannon. I think I scared the lady next to me. The day after I got back I went to my RE. He said he could not see any signs of blood so I must have done something right. He saw the HB for the first time and told me to stay on progesterone for the first trimester. After my first visit to the OB at 11w they said because of the bleeding and because I did IVM they wanted to keep me as high risk so they could keep a close eye on me. My first visit to the perinatal center was at 12w and they said they place most moms who do IVF/IVM as high risk because they consider those babies and pregnancies more fragile. Not sure how true that is but I have heard it more than once. I don't mind at all. I get to see the Drs so much that it really helps reassure me.
I love how you and DH met. I love hearing the stories too. ;)

Hope- I'm an early shopper too! You are not alone! :) I realized that this year I will be 8mos pregnant at Christmas so I REALLY need to get it done early. LOL

bei- Yea for same due dates. A race to the finish. ;) Are you going to find out the sex? With 2 you will probably be earlier.

Katie- Thanks for the advice. The choices are a bit overwhelming. I'm trying to find something with a matching nightstand so that when it's finally converted to a bed I won't have to look for matching pieces. I'm with you though. I am getting all the conversion pieces when I get the crib. I do not want any problems later on!

Steph- I love the room!!!!!! The letters turned out really great! Make sure you tell Andrew we love them! :) (With or without paint ass prints) ;) I can't wait until I have a room that looks like a nursery.

AFM- Well today I started that test where you have to keep your pee for 24hrs. I have no idea what they are testing for but that they have to do it each trimester for 2 & 3. So here goes the 2nd trimester test. It makes it very difficult to go anywhere or run errands. DH and I went to Sam's club and I see the golden sign for the bathroom. Of course at that exact point I think I have to pee. DH says...NO you have to collect all pee. You have to hold it!!!!! So hold it I did. Only 11 more hours of collection. YUCK! Yeah that's pretty much been my day in a nut shell. I hope everyone else is having more fun than me today. :)

Hi Ladies!!

hope your all doing well.

Steph-your nursery looks amazing and I know how much love and care you put into it and it shows!!! you better keep an eye on your Alex since she is a beauty and already has a bf?!?!?! Love the hair and if she is already starting changing her hair you are going to see a lot of different hair phases!!!

Katie-hey mama!! thanks for always checking up on me!!! It makes me feel so good even though I don't always have time to post I always read the posts at the end of the night! Glad that Chris didn't go crazy putting the rocker together and I hear you on getting sucked into the chains like BRU and Buy Buy Baby!! Although I started my registry I haven't decided the look yet of the nursery so that has been my latest task!!!

PA_FA_I have never heard of such a test to make a pregnant lady hold in her pee all day!!! That would kill me!!! My DH doesn't want to take the class at the hospital and I'm sort of nuetral but I think my MIL thought we were crazy when we said we might now take it!! So we may suck it up and spend a whole Saturday there when I get closer!!!

Angela-have fun on your vacation!!! DH and I may go spend a few days in LBI (Long Beach Island) in later September since my Aunt/Uncle have a condo there and wont be down there since it's off season. It's nice to still get away and spend QT time with the hubby!!

Hazel-ANY DAY!!! I can't believe it-if feels like yesterday when you tested NYE day and got a positive!!!!

AFM....I am starting to get a complex because EVERYONE is predicting girl (and the complex isn't over having the GIRL) but it's the fact they say either I'm carrying like a girl or it must mean the girl is "stealing" my beauty!! hahaha!!! Last night an old lady basically told me I have a butt now even though I have never met her before!! granted I was pretty skinny beforehand and no matter what the weight is going to show on me-but I'm still getting insulted!!!!! I go tomorrow for my obgyn and I have tons of questions!! I will also do my best to post an updated pic of the belly!!

PA-FA - I hadnt seen any sets with a matching night stand, but what a great idea! I wish that I had thought of that. As long as you choose an easy to match color, or stick with the same brand, it should be easy to find/ match. I've never had to do a 24hr urine test - and they've got you doing it 3 times? I'd love to know what they're looking for..

Claudia - I was wondering yeasterday where you were...
I cant wait to see some new bump pics! How is Flick doing in the kickboxing dept? UGH, its so hard to listen to all these old wive's tales and commetns, isnt it? I've heard from strangers in the grocery store that I"m having a boy because of the way I'm carrying - I just smile and bite my tongue, its not worth it to argue with old ladies tha ti dont even know. But you would think that at some point they would realize that how you carry has more to do with how you're built, your uterus shape, structure? Ummm nope they dont seem to get it - so i just smile and nod , and then think - ugh enough with the dopey comments please
I'm just happy that so far (knock wood) no one has come up to me and just put their hand on my belly! i've heard that happens - and I would freak!
Good luck at your OB tom!

Claudia- Not hold it in...they give you this HUGE orange container. They want you to put all of your urine in this container for 24hrs. Then you go into the lab with all of this huge jug of pee and they take blood. Not sure what it's for but after I finish this cup of coffee I'll go find out! :D

Katie- getting ready to go to the lab. I'll ask them when they are sticking me for blood.

Hey ladies. We are back from the hospital and our growth scan and it seems that Zorba has eased off on his/her growth rate and (as at today, 38wks1day) weighs in at 8lbs. We were looking as if we were on track for 8.5lbs by today, and thankfully the slight slowdown in growth means that the hospital no longer views me as high risk and has stopped talking about inducing me early. So instead, they are going to keep an eye on me until 40 weeks, have my midwife do a stretch & sweep at 40wks1day and have booked me in to be induced at 41wks3days as a longstop day. Although I can't believe that I will still be pregnant by then, what with carrying around a big baby and getting acupuncture treatments etc. Oh, and the doctor said that Zorba's head is now 3/5ths engaged - yippee!! katie - for the purposes of the list, my next appointment is now a routine midwife appointment next Wednesday (1st September). Thanks so much...

Steph - hahaha, I definitely recognise the pregnancy limp as you walk the bathroom with stabbing pains in your bladder, although for me as I've got some inner groin pains as well (just my pelvis starting to stretch ready for labour, I'm assuming) it's more of a pregnancy side to side waddle (sort of like a cowboy who's spent 7 solid days in the saddle!). Love Alex's new look, hope her first day at school went well. And I am totally loving your nursery, you and Andrew did a fantastic job!! So glad to hear that your OB appointment went well and the two little ones are doing just fine. Now that I no longer need to be induced early, I wonder which one of us will go first?

katie - the hospital bag for the baby is totally packed, the bag for me is half packed with a note inside to remind me which things I still need to add (the remaining items are all things like toiletries and make-up etc, which I'm using on a daily basis, or food & drink which is in the fridge keeping cold etc). Yes, we get to choose our hospital in the UK, but within reason - don't forget that the system is different here as healthcare is publicly funded and therefore in theory it doesn't matter which hospital you go to. So for example I live within reach of three hospitals, which are between 10 minutes and 30 minutes drive away, and it was open to me to request a specific one. Once you've chosen, you then see a midwife through your pregnancy who is affiliated with that particular hospital. We've gone for the closest hospital, just because if things are going smoothly when labour starts, we can stay at home until the last possible minute, and if things don't go smoothly we can get there quickly. And to answer your other question, yes I think DH is getting anxious but he's doing his best to act normally. It was very funny the other morning because I called out to him when he was in the bathroom when he was getting ready for work as I wanted to show him a text, and he rushed into the bedroom in a panic because he thought I'd gone into labour. So yes, I think he's definitely getting a bit twitchy!

claudia - good luck for your OB app't tomorrow. And oh yes, the joy of complete strangers coming up to you and feeling as if they are entitled to comment on your size, shape or ask really intrusive questions about the pregnancy. I've been taken aback at how often it has happened, and I never fail to think to myself "oh f**k off, you rude woman/man!". I did have one stranger clamp her hand on my stomach and start rubbing the bump when I was about 16 weeks pregnant - I was so shocked I didn't know what to do at first, but somehow I managed to grit my teeth, smile nicely and step away from the hand! I'm sure you still have the cutest bump in the world - I finally got around to getting DH to take a photo of my beach ball this morning (attached below). That's me at 38 weeks after gaining 50 pounds and carrying around an 8lb baby - not my most svelte look ever! (Sorry about the size of the photo, I can't seem to get photobucket to play ball this evening...)

gi - yay, you'll be all done with the nursery at the weekend! Enjoy doing the laundry for Kayla's clothes and sheets etc - I had such a nice time just washing and ironing all the little things to put away in the nursery ready for Zorba, and just thinking that I will be using them all soon!

PA_FA - loving the finger painting analogy!! I know what you mean about freaking out about the choices for baby things - we found it helped just to pick a few things to choose at a time, otherwise it was all too overwhelming. And you've still got plenty of time, we didn't even start thinking about it until I was about 25 weeks. Re our furniture, we've got a cotbed (I'm guessing that's what you mean by a convertible?) which has three mattress levels and removable sides so will do Zorba until he/she is about 4-5 years old, and a crib to go in our bedroom for the first few months. Mmmm, not so keen on the sound of your 24 hour pee test, thank goodness we don't have those in the UK!

babyluv - oh yes, the heartburn reflux, I know it well... Try sleeping with an extra pillow to keep more upright, plus I find that it sometimes happens less if I'm lying on my right side than my left (I think it's something to do with the way the oesophagus curves into the stomach, so lying on your right side means that the regurgitation has to work against gravity so is less likely to happen). But quite often the only thing which helps at all is to sit up for a while and drink some milk and/or chew some antacids. And yes, morning sickness can come back in the third trimester, I've had some nausea on and off since about week 34 or so, but thankfully haven't actually been sick. I've also been warned that you can quite often be sick in labour, what fun....

angela - happy holidays!
