Hello Everyone!
Sorry for the delay in the updates! It has been a long and draining weekend! Glad to hear everyone is right on track! Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers for successful cycle!! This is our month ladies! I can feel it!

I had my ER this am due to the fact that my Estradiol level was 4,500 on Saturday. RE is still concerned with hyperstimulating but he retrieved 35….yup!....35 eggs! I cannot believe it! It’s no wonder I have been in so much pain! So now we wait until the phone call tomorrow to see how many lil ones we have. It;s funny how quickly this process goes once you get to this point……it SO doesn’t feel like a quick process while you are in it though. So I am laying low drinking lots of fluids hoping to calm the ovaries from the shock I just put them through.

All I can say is thank you so much for all of your support through all of this. I cannot tell you how wonderfully peaceful it is to come onto this site and see that strangers are sending thoughts and wishes my way when even my own family members don’t know what to say. I am unsure as to what I would do without the upbeat kindness you all show.

It81: keep up the good work! The shots are scary at first but will get easier!

Anissabug: Yay!! So happy for you and your 18 lil eggs! Congrats on a successful ER!! Keep us posted as to what you hear tomorrow! Will be sending lots of thoughts your way! Sorry to hear of the cancelation of the concert; hope your lil one wasn’t too disappointed.
I am still confused about the difference between a 3 and 5 day transfer and what’s best. My RE seems to make that call. How did you all make your decision? My RE says he is hoping for a day 5 transfer due to possible hyperstimulation….

Soccermom: hope all went well for you today!! I hear ya about the bloated part! I literally have been wearing summer dresses for the last week bc none of my shorts/pants fit!!! Sending baby thoughts your way!

wow, 35 eggs! I wonder how many eggs one can produce in a stimulated cycle?

Right?! I am in a bit of disbelief myself. I have to say 35 eggs is great but the pain in the ovaries from those 35 eggs is not so great! I am still on bedrest for the fear of hyperstimulating. I have to say I look like I am about 7-8 months preggers due to the bloating. SO uncomfortable! How has everyone else felt after an ER? Just wondering if this is normal. It literally hurts to walk.

The doc just called and out of the 35 eggs they took 5 could not be used due to immaturity and out of the 30 22 fertilized. I am in shock! 22 embryos?! Seriously?! This is my first time doing all of this so I don’t know what’s normal but this is a significant amount right? This is so not what I was expecting! We are waiting to see if we will do a ET on Thursday or Saturday. I still don’t understand the difference between the two.........other than my RE wanting to wait til day 5 due to hyperstimulation.

How is everyone doing? post ER?! Any news on your embryos? How are you feeling? And those of you on shots? How are they going?

Thinking of everyone and hope all is well! Thanks for the thoughts ladies!

amanda1027 - If I remember correctly my last cycle they got 19 eggs, all of them were mature, and 17 fertilized. Out of those, 2 were transferred and 4 were able to be frozen 6dpo. Just to give you perspective on how the numbers shake out. I only felt close to that miserable when I was close to hyperstimulation. It sounds to me like you do have OHSS.

I did 5 day transfers each time. The presumption is that these will have a higher success rate because the embryos are still healthy enough to be growing and dividing after 5 days. Not all embryos will make it to 5 days which is why they don't decide which day the transfer will be until they see how the embryos are doing by day 3.

Still wishing you the best of luck!

Amanda - 35!! You definitely are hyper stimulated! I had the 18 which was the most out of 4 fresh cycles and I received word that 14 fertilized!!!! :D This is our best cycle yet! We decided on a 3 dt instead of 5 because we will be in syracuse for the concert so instead of making a special trip we will do 5 embies on Thursday.
Drink lots of fluids to flush out the extra fluid in you. and yes it is very uncomfortable and painful when you have OHSS. I had a mild case and hurt real bad. I am still sore from this ER but doing better today. Hang in there and rest. You will probably do a 5dt because you have so many embryos. This is good!!

Soccermom - 9 eggs is great! did you get your report yet? My first cycle I had 9 - it is amazing how your body does different everytime. My last cycle I had 15 but only 5 fertilized............we transferred all 5 and still no baby - all you need is one great one and you are proof positive that this works...........How are you feeling?
I had Dr Massey too. My first time meeting him but he seemed real nice. Dr Kilz will be doing my transfer. He wanted us in on Saturday but I insisted on Thursday and he said there is no difference either day is great. So anxious to hear of your outcome.

How is everyone else doing? Hope your process is moving along well. Sorry for not being able to post personals to everyone but have to run to orientation for my daughter - high school!! Just know you are in my thoughts........baby dust to all!!

Holy cow amazing Amanda! Your ovaries were working like a well oiled assembly line! I can only imagine how uncomfortable you were/are! I was WAY bloated Sun/Mon, I think I must have put on 5lbs just in water weight. I was down 2lbs this morning, I peed constantly throughout the night. I feel so much better today - although a little gassy & bloated in the bm sense  guess that's due in part to the anesthesia? Once that that over with I felt like a brand new woman  ! Rest up and drinks tons of Gatorade! That was what I was told when I had "mild" OHSS during my first ivf.

Got the news that 8 of my 9 fertilized and they look beautiful!!! We are scheduled for a day 5 transfer for Saturday morning! Which is wonderful since I'll be busy setting my elem. art room up over the next three HOT days - we're in heat wave here in the northeast! Holy hot!

Annisabug - 14 fertilized?! That's great!!!! This is your cycle girl, I can feel it!! Is the concert Wed? Will you be staying over then for Thurs transfer? Your daughter must be so excited for the concert!!! Did they prescribe estrace to you too? I took that during my FET in July - orally. Now they want me to take it vaginally...that little blue pill! Should be interesting getting that in there - hope I don't loose it  ! Are you on Crinone too? Just started that this morning. I'm not a fan of that stuff, but would rather do that than the PIO shots....ya know what I'm sayin'? I think Kiltz is scheduled to do my transfer - I like Dr Massey, but there's something about Kiltz that just calms my nerves - his whole holistic/powers of the universe mantra gets me everytime.

It81 - sounds like things are moving along for you!!

WOW! It has been some time since my last post and I cannot beleive all of the activity. I have never heard of 35 eggs! OMG - you must be is some pain. I have about 14 eggs total that they can see right now. I take my ovidrel shot tonight and am scheduled for ER on Friday. I will go back in for ET on Monday unless they call me on Mon and tell me to wait until Wednesday. If it happens on Mon that will be the same day my mom went into labor with me 34 years ago. It was Mon Sep 6, 1976 and I was born the next day. How weird would that be if my IVF would take on the same day my mom went into labor with me. I am hoping that will be good luck for me. My stomach is very bloated and I am uncomfortable. I have a huge bruise on my stomach from Mon shot. That was the first shot in the stomach that ever hurt like that. I am hoping for good news for everyone. I am supposed to have assisted hatching this time. Does anyone know if you can have assisted hatching on a 5det? I thought I heard my doctor say that if the transfer takes place on day 5, then assisted hatching would not be necessary. I will be starting the POI shots on Friday - I am not looking forward to that. However, I am willing to do anything they tell me just to have another child. Like the saying - no pain, no gain. Baby dust to all!

fingers toes and eyes crossed for you Jessica!

Welcome Shelly.

Everyone is doing so great, I think this might be a lucky cycle for us all!

It81 -
5 put back in?! No way! I had 2 transferred during our first successful ivf which gave us our beautiful DD. With that history, I know my Dr would not do more than 2...therefore I'll most likely have 2 transferred on Saturday (day 5).

Jessica - sticky vibes to you my dear :D !

Still feeling a bit bloated, & I think I over did it today - moving tables & chairs around to set up my classroom in 90+ degree heat! Not a good move on my part, but I had to get some things done prior to next week.

Annisabug - let us know how the concert went! I bet your ears will be ringing for quite a while!

Soccermom - 8 out of 9 is awesome!!! I am glad to hear that you are doing well. I am on the same meds as you. I also have done the Estrace orally for a FET but now they have me doing them vaginally   I actually had the nurse repeat herself because I was so surprised! It is not easy since it is so small. I am on crinone gel once daily too and today Dr Kiltz told me to he wants me to do PIO shot too!! I have never done them and have only heard horror stories :( Not looking forward to it..........the needle looks huge!! We ended up with 15 fertilized! I can't believe it, so unreal how different this cycle has been. We are being very agressive with Dr Kiltz's direction and did transfer 5 embies today :D :D This is our 6th time so I am optimistically cautious.............

Good luck on Saturday.........I will be thinking of you.

As for the concert - we had so much fun. All the little girls screaming their heads off for this kid. Great performs by Sean Kingston, Ias???, Jessica Tarrell and of course Justin Bieber. My son had fun because of the other performs so it was like a 2 for one! And yes my ears were ringing for quite some time..........think it was from the girls screaming!! LOL

ShellyO-Welcome! You have come to the right place. I too have had a tubal ligation 12 years ago and have since remarried and my husband has no children of his own. We went right to IVF and now am looking into reversing my tubes at the beginning of the year if this cylce does not work. I totally understand the ups and downs....my baby is 12 and my oldest is 15.........they are so grown and starting over sometimes I think...am I crazy? But I so want to have another child and especially with my husband so hopefully this will work and I will be holding our baby in 9 months :D

Remember - you have all these meds in you too. So your emotions will be all over the place. This process is definitely like a roller coaster. It gets easier after your first one.............Good luck.

Well I have to get to bed so I will check in over the weekend. Baby dust to all and PMA!!!
