Ester - I'm so glad you joined us, welcome!! I've been thinking about you since your BFN and hoping you were ok. So I'm glad to see you post and I can't wait to cheer you on in November! See my message above to Tammy with the blog link. I went to yours when you posted it on the summer thread, but I've got to track down the URL again and save it as favorite.

kbillsy - Of course we have room for you here, welcome!! I would have had to veto a 4-6 month wait too, that would be torture to wait that long.

Ryann - Yay for triggering last night! I'm so excited that your ER is tomorrow, woo-hoo!!

Victoria - So glad the ER went well and that they didn't risk anything with the right ovary. Can't wait to hear a great fert report from you today!

Krys - I'm sorry you've had to go through the disappointment with this cycle, but I'm glad you're going to proceed with the FET.

tammy good luck today!! i cant wait to hear how many eggs you get!!

ester i missed you!! how are you feeling? did the kids come back to school last week or do they start tuesday? thinking of you always!!


afm i just got back from my SnS. i have to go to the local hospital to get everything done and they dont tell you anything...usually the less i know the better it is on my stress levels, but with a new RE i am worried he wont push me to ER with only afew follies like my last RE who knew me would. so the stress is happening no matter what i do or dont know. atleast its a sunday, and they will call earlier then during the week because they close earlier!
i hope everyone is having a great weekend! its cooled down here and we have beautiful sunny blue skies...no clue what i'm gonna do today, but hopefully i can get DH out of bed and we can go keep busy instead of waiting by the evil phone!!

Good morning, I counld not sleep last night thinking about our eggs. But now we got news. WE HAVE 4 BABIES!!!!! We transfer on Tuesday. We r so happy. Although I wanted all 8 to make it half is good. I guess it could have been worse with none. So we r very happy. Victoria

My sister says 4 is a great number. What do u all think ? I mean I'm not trying to be selfish it's just that I was hoping I could freeze more just in case this didn't work. I just hope all of them stay strong. What stress!

Victoria: that's awesome news.. I know what
you mean about wanting them all to fertiLize.
I felt the same way. A good way to look at it
is it will be easier for them to pick the perfect two.
We had 10 fertiliZe and I felt overwelmed with the
fact that they had to narrow it down and try to
pick only two. Will you have 2 transfered? I
will keep you in my prayers!! Good luck!

Thinking of you today. Praying it all goes well.

As I shared previously, I'm just waiting on AF to start and then I start my BCP and get my IVF calendar. I'm starting to get really nervous (scared) about it all. I'm such a baby about pain. I don't know about all these shots. Will I really be able to do it? I've seen the needles for the Lupron and FSH stuff and they look do-able (if I weren't such a baby) but oh, boy that progesterone shot needle. YIKES. It's huge. They said it's like that because it goes into the muscle and it must be given in the hip. I'm starting to get worried about OHSS (are those the right initials)

I know it's not wise to worry and yet I find myself doing just that. I thought I would be more excited as I approach AF (about 8 days away now) but I'm not really getting more excited, just more scared. As soon as AF arrives, that's the day we pay our huge chunk of $$ too. We've already paid quite a bit w/ the sperm aspiration. That alone was 6,000. We had no it would be THAT expensive. We had planned and knew the cost of IVF and meds but YIKES that aspiration really set us back. Thankfully we do have the $$ saved so we will be able to pay it but uggh ugggh ugggh it's just so much money. I know I'm also worried about all the $$ going out. I know many others here a totally self-pay like us. It's a big stress. We have saved enough $$ for one cycle but beyond that I don't know how we'll be able to make it happen. So that's on my mind too.

Y'all all seem to handle it so very well. How do you do it?

I know what you mean about worrying about the $$ but wow, I'm sorry you had that giant cost of the sperm aspiration on top of everything else!! We've got enough saved for this cycle and probably a frozen (if we get enough to freeze) but that's it.

When I find myself starting to worry I just remind myself that I can't control the outcome, no matter how much worrying I do. I'm going to do what I can physically & mentally to give us the best possible chance but that's all I can really do. I really want to go into it with a great PMA and try not to think of the "what-ifs" until I absolutely have to. And at least I know if my PMA does start fading, I can turn to you ladies to get me back on track.

Yep, we were very surprised at the cost of sperm aspiration. We were thinking it would be around 2,000. Part of it was the urologist's fee and then the other part was the surgery center fee, freezing etc.... Thankfully they got 3.5 million sperm.

Nancy...Wow! That's outrageous! Do you draw up the meds with the big needle and switch to a smaller needle for the muscular hip shot? Our clinic allows that now...and it does get into the muscle just fine...my progesterone level was tested before so I know it does. I would ask about it...most clinics have switched to this now.

Virginia...4 is normal fertilization rate out of 8. You can usually figure 50% is common. How many will you plan to transfer on Tuesday?

Franny...Hope you and DH got out and had some fun today. Any new news since the phone call today?

Kbillsy...that is way too long to wait. Yikes! You do what you think is right for you. Listen to your heart and body. Glad to see you join us over here.

Well, ER did not go very well today at all. My stupid cat jumped on my belly at 3am this morning and sent major pain through my ovaries...I woke up screaming and woke up my aunt who was here to babysit this morning...it was that bad. I've had issues before with my ovaries getting shy and moving up where they cant be reached easily...well...I told Bill at 3am that they are not going to be able to reach my ovaries now...and I was right. Just like Virginia...they were afraid of causing damage and sending me to the hospital...so they were only able to retrieve 7 of my 12 eggs. We have no idea if they were the mature ones or not. They pushed alot trying to push my ovaries back down into place and now I'm in alot of pain from both the cat, the retrieval, and the pushing. It stinks and I'm worried now...just when you think everything is going soooo well...and then this. Sorry to be such a bummer.

Oh, Tammy, I'm so sorry to read this today. Hoping and praying those they did get are mature and will fertilize!!!

Yes, they do have us draw it up with a thicker needle and then switch needles to do the injection. If I remember correctly, the needles are the same in length. It's just the thickness of the needle that's different. Does that sound right?

Again, I'm sorry for what happened to you today.

Nancy...Thanks. I just checked my needles...they are both 22g...but 1 is 1.5" long and the other is 1" long. It feels like 3" shorter. lol

Hi All,
Finally had some time to check in with my girls. I had wedding flowers to do this weekend for today. Lots of corsages and bouts but only 6 bouquets 1 alter piece and cake flowers. Glad it's done and the bride was happy. Kinda a funny story: i showed up to do the cake and the bakery had a million white sugar flowers on it where I was supposed to put the fresh flowers. It looked terrible! I asked the guy in charge and he said to remove the sugar flowers. But it left big holes in the icing of course which I had to fill with fresh flowers. It wasn't the way the bride and I had discussed but it looked a hell of alot better than with those ugly sugar roses.
Anyway it's been a busy week because of the wedding. I feel so fatigued from the meds, kinda like a bad hangover that never goes away. I go for sns Tues. Hopefully things are going well inside. I saw alot of news on here so I'll do personals later. I have to get stuck now. I hope this is all worth it. My stomach is so sore from all the sticks.

Tammy - I'm so sorry to hear to that the ER didn't go well and you were in so much pain afterwards from the ER, the cat, & all the pushing they had to do to get your ovaries back down. Hopefully the 7 eggs they got were mature and I'll be hoping for a good fert report today.
