itsmyturn- How exciting!!!! I am sure you and DH are well over the moon. After watching my cousins twins saturday I reakized how hard it actually is, but know its def worth it. I cannot express how thrilled I am it worked out for you all. I cannot wait to hear more updates as you progress. Congrats again.

Jersey- I am so sorry yet again to hear about the beta. I know that nothing I say can make it any easier so just know I am always here to talk if you need anything.

kizmet- I cannot wait to hear about the new beta. Hopefully DHs nephew wont even realize. Even if he does its still exciting that you will get to share the good news earlier than expected. Keep us posted once you get the results.

melmar- Sorry to hear that the doctor doesnt think IUI would be a good next step. I think my DH is in the same situation. He had the bilateral varicocele and even though right after his numbers improved, they have since gone down even more. At this point I think IVF is our only option too.

AFM- Still doing ok. I think I am actually doing a lot better than I originally thought. I feel a lot better since I have stopped the progesterone- no more cramping and no more painful shots. Still waiting on the huge knot to go down. Hopefully the MD wont be too mad at me tomorrow when I let them know that I stopped the shots. My appt is scheduled for 10a so I will let you all know if we get a chance to discuss next steps.

Sorry I'm doing such short and uninteresting posts at the moment - I'm just flat out at work.

Blair - Have you stopped your meds prior to your beta???

I just got my third and final beta back - hCG is 17017 and progesterone is 61, so all is good. I did have a minor heart attack when the nurse said "I have your blood results" because I heard "I have bad results", fortunately it was just my bad hearing!

jersey, sorry to hear about your beta.I hope you feel better very soon and that you got great support around you. send you a big hug x

Blair, i am glad to hear your feeling better! you know i got pregnant from my 2nd fet with the worse embryos from the all batch.2 first round was made with excellent grades. So don t stress out thinking there is something wrong with you, because what s happening inside it s a big mystery. First ivf, and first fet turned out to be chemicals and my re would not run any further tests unless i have a 3rd failure. In france we have this motto : 3rd time as a charm!

Kizmet, i had 3 embryos left, one ok, and 2 others very regular, and decided to transfer 2.(was a little scared about having triplets) and i am glad i did. Twin was our dream!! how many embryos did you transfer?your beta sounds great! when is exactly your first ultrasound? my next appointement is the 20th of september and then i am release to oby. When are you planning on spreading the news? i am going to france next saturday and can t wait to scream it out!

kizmet- Yes I actually stopped the progesterone shots on Saturday. I knew that it was negative and didnt want to keep putting myself through those shots for no reason. I just didnt want to keep dragging this cycle out by staying on the progesterone and not getting a period for another week or so. Still havent started yet so we will see what the NP says when I go in today. I know everyone recommends that I take some time off between cycles to think and what not...but I am hoping we can do another frozen transfer soon. PS. Congrats on such a great beta!!!

itsmyturn- Sounds like you did the right thing only transferring 2. We have 3 embryos left and since we transferred 3 good ones this time and got nothing, I am tempted to try 3 again next time. We had only planned on transferring 2, but when they thawed them one of the first 2 was just ok so the thawed another good one. Hoping that we end up with 2 good ones and will have an extra left for another cycle...but who knows.

AFM- beta in a few hours. Not really excited obviously, but anxious to find out what next steps are. I have a list of questions DH wants me to ask since hes not going to appt. Think its funny though that I am going to be paying $19 for a home pregnancy test thats going to be negative. Oh well. Will keep everyone posted on what they say.

Hi Ladies
I haven't checked in for a while. Blair - I checked in to see how you were doing - knew you were up for results soon. Have you had your official result? I'm still holding out it might not all be over for you??? Can relate to wanting to stop the meds in advance - its a little bit like trying to claw back semblance of control.
Jersey . . . Oh, I'm so very deeply and sincerely sorry. My heart really goes out to you. How tough and incredibly cruel this all is. I can only imagine your sadness and frustration right now. Hugs and hugs and hugs to the ladies on the thread that need to paddle the waka a little harder and get over this "August disappointment". I'm so truly thankful that you ladies were and are there to help get through. Ending on my cliched refrain "Kia kaha kia Maia" (Stand strong and have courage). And not meaning to be that weird preachy chick on the thread - but here you go - big ups to all of us thrashing around in the deep water - "I'm scared today, but when comes tomorrow, my heart will not know sorrow. I will not know fear, and cry no tears, tomorrow I am stronger." ---Jennifer Hiykel

For kizmet and itsmyturn - really it's so good and heartening to know there is the silver lining in this godd*m sh*tstorm. Am happy and excited for you both at the beginning of the journey! Hugs to both you guys too! Kizmet - when is that scan of yours coming up!! I haven't missed in speed reading have I? Itsmyturn - twins!! How truly blessed!!

Hi girls,
Hope this finds all of you doing well.
Jersey: I'm so sorry for everything, you have been through so much. I have the exact same feelings you do about not being able to run, weight gain from the meds, hormones, etc. I finally got out for my first run last night, tough but felt great afterwards. It is not vain to feel the way you do and you will start to feel better soon, sending prayers your way.
Blair: I'm so sorry that things didn't work out for you. I know it is so very hard to go through all of this and watching those around you having babies. I wish the best for you and DH and know that you will get through this.
Kizmet: Hope things in your pregnancy are going great. How are all the horses doing? Have you been riding?
Itsmyturn: So happy for you, twins, that's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so great to hear that you are happy about twins, the nurse at my RE said that alot of couples are upset to have twins and how nice it is to see people excited about it. I hope everything goes great for you.
Melmar: That is so awful that your doc practically laughed about the IUI. You never know miracles do happen all the time. I hope things go well for you this next year and things work out.

AFM: Almost done with DD's purple sweater and things are good. The teenager had his first scrimmage game and they won by 7 touchdowns this weekend. I'm getting back to feeling normal again and am not feeling so sad anymore. DD has suddenly been in our bed every night now, feel like I am savoring our moments with her and the teenager even more now than ever. Hope I get the sweater done this week so I can post a picture for all of you. Hugs to everone :)

Well just got back from my MD appt. Of course I knew the home pregnancy test they did would be negative so no surprises there. She drew blood for the beta but I wont hear back on that unless some freak chance that its higher than it should be. I told the NP that I stopped the shots and she said she was glad so we could move on. I am starting birth control on cycle day 2, and should be seeing AF either today or tomorrow. I have an appointment 2 weeks from today for baseline, and then she said she thought we could do a transfer the first or second week of October if things looked good. They also took more blood for an immune test, and for karyotyping to see if we can find any other underlying issues that would be preventing this from working. Since the karyotyping can take 3 wks shes hoping to have the results before we do the transfer so we have a better idea of things. Other than that nothing too exciting going on with me.

Kizmet - That is an awesome beta. I truly am so very happy for you and DH. Have you told his kids yet?

Blair - Sorry about today but I am so glad to hear that you'll be starting up real soon. Like itsmyturn said, "third times a charm."

Yarnista - So good to hear from you. You sound like you're doing well. I can't wait to see the sweater.

Melo - Thank you, it's so nice to hear from you. How is Maia?

AFM - So tonight I will be going on my first run and I am so excited. I actually have less weight to lose than I thought I did, only 7 lbs not 12 so that's always a good thing. Oh yeah, and I think I might actually be entertaining the thought of trying again, maybe. I get one more fresh cycle with my insurance company so I am contemplating switching RE's to the one that's considered the best in the state. Maybe they might find something that my current missed as to a reason why this has happened a few times. They are so busy and I have heard it takes a few months to get an appointment so I guess I'll make one and I can always cancel if I change my mind during the wait. I don't know but maybe it's worth a shot?

Jerseyjane - Sounds like you're feeling a bit better already! That's great. Good luck on the weight loss. I wish I'd gotten rid of a few extra pounds before we started all this! We haven't told DHs kids yet.

Blair - good luck with the next appointment and the karotyping. Hopefully that will give you some of the answers you are looking for.

Yarnista - I haven't been riding, not for lack of wanting to, just the weather here has been miserable. It just keeps raining and raining! Hopefully we'll get some better weather this weekend. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit brighter too.

Melo - Did you have another appointment coming up soon? Thanks for your well wishes too. My scan is next Wednesday, 15 Sept.

Itsmyturn - Glad to hear you did only transfer 2 given that both stuck! Triplets would be quite a handful! Enjoy France! I'm so jealous! We wont be telling anyone other than DHs kids until 12 weeks. My two best friends know as do 2 of the guys at work - just so that I have some people at work to do the things I don't feel comfortable doing with a baby on board.

Hey all
Hope all well.

Jersey - you do make me smile. Good grief what a nightmare we put ourselves through. I was reading with so much convinction the "Hell I'm over this crap - ain't no fertility bad ass gonna rule ma life - its me and ma daughter now" . . . I was kind of going yee hah!! Me too yee hah! And how awesome it would be if we could both just live that reality . . . NOT! In your next post your already thinking about it again - like me! And that is really good news too. I think truly the hardest thing of all in all of all of this - is not even going to be going through more rounds of IVF anymore - but maybe being bigger than the need and packing it all in. But hell where there is a will there is a way - and I REALLY REALLY REALLLY hope you and I are in another thread in the not to distant future with our thankful BFP's!! If your insured - absolutely I would go for it.

Blair - Sorry. Stink. poos and wees and more pants - yours is round another corner. So sorry for the bad news. Really.

Kizmet - oh neat! What a moment when you see your little kidney bean with the little arm and leg buds already. Appointment is day before your US. Don't know if DH can come.

I'd just do ANYTHING for there to be a definate and guarenteed way to have another baby. What the hell does this look like? Surely there are options - what the heck are they?

Best
Mel

Melo - Thanks, I try to make people laugh I even make myself laugh. Good luck on your next appointment.

Kizmet - I can't wait to hear about your ultrasound. I hope you are still feeling good.

Blair - I miss you, how are you doing?

Itsmyturn - Is the nausea still bad? I bet you feel it more because of multiples.

AFM - I caved. My initial consultation with a brand new RE (supposedly the best in the state) for my very, very, very last shot at IVF (unless I have some to freeze ha, ha, ha) is on October 11th. I can't believe I made the appointment yesterday but like Melo said "if insurance will pay for one more, why not?" Maybe he may find something that the other clinic missed as to why I have had 3 miscarriages, if you want to call this last one that. AF still has not come so I'm waiting because once she does I have to go to old clinic for a shot of Rho-Gam since I am O-.

melo- It was great hearing from you. Cant wait to hear about things after your appointment coming up.

Jersey- Sorry, I havent been checking in here as much recently. Not that I dont like you girls but just trying to refocus and start over again. Hope all is well with you. I am glad you made another appointment with the other RE. Even though its beyond depressing to have unsuccessul cycles, it will happen for us eventually. And the babies that we will end up with will make it worth every second of the way!

Kizmet- Did you all tell DHs kids yet? Been thinking about you and hoping all is going well.

itsmyturn- hows the pregnant life with twins going? Hopefully you arent as nauseated as you were.

yarnista- Did you finish the sweater? You have to post pictures once you do. Hope things are going great with you.

AFM- Started birth control today. Sadly enough I was actually excited because its one step closer. DH went for his bloodwork for the karyotyping so hopefully we get the results sooner than later (they estimated 3 wks). Other than that nothing too exciting going on with me.

Blair, Melo & JerseyJane - You girls are so fabulous! Back on the IVF train again! When I did my disastrous fresh cycle, I got busy telling DH there is no way on earth I was going through that again, ever. NEVER, EVER, EVER. NOPE, I'd rather put my head in a vat of hot oil. Within a week of being released from hospital, I was saying "well maybe if I had to" this rapidly became "hell yeah, I'll do it again". Strange creatures aren't we?

AFM - DH has told his son we are "thinking" about it and he is WILDLY happy about the prospect! He agrees that telling his sister will be a very different matter and he has offered to act as a human shield for DH when he tells her tonight. He decided to give them a week or so to think about it before telling them I'm actually already pregnant (don't get me started on how much that upset me, but anyway).

I think morning sickness is planning on making a rather dramatic appearance in the next few days. I wake up feeling more nauseous each morning and really struggled to come into work today. I'm told that people who suffer from motion/travel sickness tend to be hit pretty hard by it, so have kind of been anticipating it. I made DH and DS lunch this morning and gagged the whole way through it so have told DH he'll have to make his own from now on.

Blair, jersey, melo, so glad you are already back in a game! that really show how strong you are! you can only win with this attitude! keep me posted on all your progress. i want to be there all the way!

yarnista, how are you? we want to see that sweater very soon!

Kizmet, when is your scan exactly? how are you coping with the wait? i have my next scan on week 8. Glad to hear dh s son is happy for you. Did you tell anybody else?

AFM, my nausea are sometimes bad, and sometime worse, but nothing that i can t handle. I arrived to france yesterday and was very excited to tell my family. My mother burst in to tears, as she had no idea i gave it an other shot! she thought i already gave up and was even scared to talk to me about it! then i said i was expecting 2 and wow!!! she is so thrilled and my father too. She said she would take 3 months off work to come and help me. She is so sweet!!! then we went to my cousin s party and told everybody, it felt so great; and also make it feel real!!!i know i didn t wait 3 month to tell and really hope that nothing would take away this dream from me. I am 7 weeks today, 5 weeks to go before i feel safe. i am coming back on the 20 of september, so i would catch up with you all by then.big xxx

Itsmyturn - How wonderful that your mother is going to help for 3 months. I am certain you will need all the help you can get with 2. Good luck at your next ultrasound. Can't wait to hear about it.

Kizmet - How are you feeling? Was this the weekend you were telling DH's daughter or is it next weekend? Good luck with that one. Your ultrasound is Wednesday right? I am looking forward to hearing how it all goes.

Melo, Blair, Melmar, and Yarnista - I miss you gals, I hope all is well.

AFM - Nothing much going on here. I have days where I say I don't want to try again, then I change my mind to I do. Regardless I am keeping my appointment with the new RE at least to hear what he thinks.
