Thanks for everyone's support - despite feeling totally neurotic and silly about it it's also such a fantastic feeling to finally have got this far! I can't wait to tell everyone after 12 weeks....
Gem, I'm so sorry to hear about your clinic's phone message! What a mess up! So let us know what happened, whether they squeezed you in today or not! If it's any consolation my DH could not come to my first scan on Tuesday either, because he had a project in Scotland, which was totally un-cancellable. So I went by myself telling him every detail on the phone afterwards. I had asked the doc for a printout, but she was dismissive of that (said "all you can see is a little blob" - so what? It's MY BLOB - and I was sooo pleased its heart was beating and it was in the right place), so I didn't get one, but I'm sure your clinic would be more understanding...!
Anyway, hope it'll all work out and most of all that it's all good news!!!
Thinking of you!
Lots of love,
bina

OOOOOOOOOOO I love it when Nikola agrees with me - it really pains her you know!

Gem- what a nightmare -the scan not the hair dye (hope you sorted that too  ) hope you got your scan sorted - let us know!

Caz - not sure on HCG and levels and if you will see a heartbeat - it does tell you the body is doing as it should do and the growth should be there - if there was a problem you would not have such high levels and it would be going down. RE ectopic - the embroyo still grows remember so you still produce HCG - try not to worry about this - I at 6 weeks was really starting to know it was ectopic - the pain you have is probably just growing or an ovary pain after everything it has been through.

I was always destined for an ectopic with my luck and dodgy tubes!!!

Relax a bit more but keep asking questions.

Bina - how are you - bit sick still? Tee Hee.

Love
Tracey

TRacey
Thanks so much babe - I am INCREDIBLY grateful for your common sense! Problem is I have no symptoms so I'm just in total disbelief - this wait is SO much longer than the origincal 2WW (that'll be because its actually a 3WW?!?!? )

Anyway aside from the total paranoia all well otherwise!

Gem - WHAT was you DH doing dying his own hair -what a nightmare!!

Hi Guys
Well I'm afraid teh clinc couldnt sqeeze me in at all as all the available dr's were doing ec and et which I understand as pregancy scans can wait,so I've made it for weds so dh can come with me as he really wants to come so I can wait a few days for him, least then I will def see a heartbeat I just wanted to see it NOW so I could believe something is there as I havent got any sickness yet even though I did feel abit sick yesterday a few times but not enough to run to the toilet.
I'm really missing dh already hes just phoned from the airport, you should have seen his hair when he washed the dye out :P  his mum did it for him but he asked for it on the sides and back so he ended up with 2p shaped circles around his head it looked a right mess so his mum tried to blend the circles in but you could still see circles so I had a go so instaed of brown hair with a few blond bits in hes ended up with blonde bleach hair with brown bits in  it looks alot better now then it did,I guess men never grow up and hes 30 in August.
I'm of to meadowhall tonight with my friend to look for a wedding outfit I hate looking for a wedding outfit but if I cant find anything I have 2 weeks to get something,I also want my boobs messged as I'm sure they have grown then the best bit is we are going for our tea after shopping so I'm busy tonight, then tomorrow off out on a leaving do from work so I will need some excuse for why I'm not drinking as not everyone knows at work.
Bina happy you are getting some sickness, hope it catches on to me soon.if I get it will dh is away I have to phone and tell him.
Caz Stop worry and enjoy look I can take Traceys advice :D I havent got much symptoms only veiny boobs and bigger and harder boobs, and if I touch my nipples they are abit tender,my beely is getting fatter but I think thats from treatment and all the junk food I'm eating
The end of this week I have felt really tired wish but thats cos I'm back at work as well wish it was half term already.
I'm having my hair coloured and cut nxt tuesday ready for the wedding and if I tell the hairdresser I'm pg will it be ok to get it coloured I think i have read some where on here that it is as I know Traci is a hairdresser adn I'm sure she as said it is safe?
Hope everyone else is ok,have to get ready to Shop,Shop,Shop and of course Eat....

Gem,
Sorry to read you didn't get your scan today, but like you say, at least it'll be a definite one next week! I've been by myself last two weeks (DH up in Scotland, but only Mond-Fri) and it's been ok-ish, did some girly bits and meeting up with girlfriends tonight, so can also be quite calming somehow - only thing is makes the paranoia about symptoms a bit worse...every twitch and twinge and all that.
Anyway, boobs getting bigger slowly, but not veiny and real sickness feeling this morning after I got up (feeling hot, lots of saliva and stuff, definitely had to run to the loo, but then nothing happened - a friend of mine said that's 'normal'?). So we'll see - doesn't take much to get me excited though...!
Have fun enjoying your symptoms everyone!
Love,

Thanks Alisonn I cant wait for weds I want the weekend to go really quick and be back at work mon so then its nearer to weds, does that sound daft?
I think I'm getting a cold my throat is hurting and my nose is running is this really bad will it effect the baby?
I got a lovely dress for the wedding last night which is really good for me as I usually have to shop a few times before finding an outfit, its really flaturing and it will look ok if my belly grows abit over the next 2 weeks.
I think the weekend will go quick as tonight I'm off out for a meal someones leaving do a work, tomorrow I'm going shopping and some where for dinner withe my friend and her 2 girls sat night is boring as I need to do lots of ironing and plus come on here,so I think it will go pretty fast as sun I'm busy during the day.
Hope everyone else as a good weekend
How are we feeling Caz and Bina?

Hello!
Gem -sorry you have to wait til Wednesday - not long now though!
PLeasedto hear you found a dress - SUCH a nice feeling when you find something you know is just right!!

I am fine, no sickness yet, no feeling of being "PREGNANT" either. except boob hurt and are 2 inches larger than noormal - and not small to begin with , nightmare !
Also tummy - looks like I'm already quite pregnant -really bloated -anyone else suffering from this attractive complaint.
All this could be the same as pre AF symtoms, nothing I'd describe as feeling really PREGANANT yet! Still in complete disbelief.
Weird sleeping patterns to -asleep by 9, (missed friends yesterday!!) and up early doors. Anyone else sleeping quite a bit?!

Have now peed on a total of 4 sticks - is this the record  ??!!! Although positive, still very faint - should I care about this? Never got these bold lines that others talk about - the PREGNANCY line always fainter than the control line. Bloods are okay, so I suppose I wont worry , for now!
Actually thats a really boring little anecdote- SORRY!!

Anyway - am fine -SO happy its the weekend!
How are you guys doing?

Hi everyone,
Gem, hope you're enjoying your various shopping trips! It's what we girls do best, isn't it? Have you heard from your DH in Magaluf? Are they going mad over there? Bet you can't wait for him to get back..! And Wednesday will be around before you know it.

Caz,
You are not the only one not feeling very pregnant...my awful stomach pains (upper abdomen really tight and 'stiff' somehow) have finally gone - think it was still aftermath of pessaries; could that be?
Anyway feel slightly sick after getting up, not actually, if you know what I mean. Yes, my belly also has this attratctive little 'handle' hanging over my pants, which I normally get at onset of my period. My sleeping patterns seem the same as your Caz, can't keep my eyes open after 9.30pm, then wake up during the night (to pee), and totally awake by 5-6am!! Driving DH mad, because we get little time together in the evenings (as I fall asleep on him). He thinks I'm just out of the rhythm and just need one late night to get back into it, but somehow I'm not convinced.
Off to a BBQ tonight, so hope I won't have to be too dull and be first one to leave (none of them know I'm PG so all a bit odd).
Hope everyone else is coping well and not too busy with obsessive paranoia, like I am...! Every little thing makes me doubt the emby is still there....and it's still 10 days until the next scan...!
Love and luck to everyone!

Yup I have10 days until my 7 week scan - and its like waiting for pregnancy test all over again!
Weirdly my tight slightly soree tummy seems to have come back again - but I've just been swimming so I wonder if I just swallowed too much air!!
Am out for dinner tonight with really good mates- but who dont know our situatin (at all) - ALWAYS get really hammered with them and of course can't tonight. I have never had this "problem" before - how do experts manage the subtle not drinking, without telling anyone why technique. Am MUCH too frightened to tell them as still convinced that I'm either making it all up or that i might lose it.
MUST BE MORE POSITIVE!! :-)

Anyway - hope everyones enjoying the sun.....by the way whats everyones view on fake tan - I hope it okay because I've just chucked a load on!!

Hi Caz and Bina
My sinking cold seems to be getting worse I bet I will have a red nose tomorrow,I've even been to bed for an hour today which is very unlike me,I also have to get up once or even twice during the night to pee.
I'm missing dh like bad he phoned last night it was lovley to hear his voice its amazing how much I miss him when hes away,so pleased its nearly sunday so only 3 more days til I can see if I've dream this and its real.
My belly is getting bigger by the day I think some of it is to do with the treatment as I usually but weight on after each treament I can still fit into my clothes but it wont be long before I need to by drawstring trousers but I just want weds over with first,I asked my mum that I was gettimng a belly already and she said she put weight on straight away with me so maybe i'm taking after her,I've started putting baby oil on my belly and boobs as some one told me it helps keep stretch marks away so I'm starting now as I've got the gel form so I'm not slippering all over
Bina have a nice time at the BBQ becareful with undercooked meats.
Caz have a nice time with your friends couldnt you say you are on antibotics tahts why you arent drinking? look at you swimming I'm going to start but as I'm still on pessaries so I cant, but I think I will feel better going when I'm futher on and got a def bump.
Well I've got an exciting night ahead IRONING...IRONING.....
Hope evryone else is ok
I got a lovely gift from my friend today shes bought me some creams from boots that are for pregnacy and a week by week look on your pregnancy book which is lovely.

hello everyone

Gems, like you I have a big tummy and wear all my trousers undone now. I thought it was the various treatment drugs, or maybe I just got fat!
I just wondered why you can't go swimming as you are still on the pessaries. I have been going swimming , and still taking pessaries, and I didn't know it was a problem. I go because I stopped going to the gym just before EC and need to do something.

Caz, 4 sticks does sound like a record , I only did two and am hoping they tell the truth!

I sometimes feel I shouldn't read stuff on this site too much as, even though it has helped a lot of the time to have people in the same situation as me, reading some of the sad stories, about losing the baby, I worry so much. I keep trying to tell myself that there is no reason why this should happen but it is so scary. I have still nearly 2 weeks till scan and then how do we pass the time till the 12/13 week scan??

We have a holiday to the States to look forward to in June but I keep thinking about what I should and shouldn;t do.

anyway good luck all of you with your next scans

first scan

Post by ydgg »

:D
Hello pg ladies!

I just had my first scan this week at 7 weeks and sure enough, there was a glorious little bleep of a heartbeat - what an incredible experience! Even with the confirmation, I still need to pinch myself...
At the u/s I had to bite my tongue to stop from crying with joy - its an overwhelming feeling!

Also, I can relate with those lovely symptoms: sore boobs, bloating, tiredness and is anyone else emotional? (crying at the drop of a hat?)

Oh dear and I still have 7 months to go (dec 22nd EDD)! Ah well...

Lots of hugs to all,

Yvonne

Hi yvonne - so pleased your joined us - more experiences to share!!
Gem - I have been swimming and am still on pessaries - did you clinic say you couldn't swim with them? I must admit I havent even checked  . I well - too late now I guess!!
Dinner with mates last night - really nice- didn't miss drinking at all. Was very funny though, made a pact with DH that he would drink all of my glass of beer and swap with his. I think I over compensated slightly and kept ordering "2 more beers please" everytime the waiter came round, so that it looked like we were BOTH drinking....any POOOOOR DH was practically under the table by the end of the meal!
I had a few sips and didnt do much for me - so maybe giving up the booze will be easier than i thought?! Heres hoping!

Had really strange tummy twinges yesterday and generally a bit of a funny tummy - really had a few moments of panic - but seems better this morning. I just keep praying.
Do the pesseries give anyone else a funny tummy?? Sorry for the personals!!

O EXCELLENT WEBSITE ladies.....both for looking at what scans look like and more hilariously what BELLIES look like!!...ps I really suggest you dont look at "Sara at 6 weeks" if you dont want to kill yourself!!!!!

http://pregnancy.about.com/library/ultr ... /blus1.htm?...

Take care

Hey - Gem -good luck with that scan.....And Tania I totally know where you are coming from re reading peoples sad stories. Just makes you realise it aint over til its over eh?!
