Bei - that is great news!

AFM - I finally got my internet up and going ... yeah! Ok ladies you are going to be so proud of me because I finally scheduled my tour of the maternity unit for Sept. 25th. I already registered and scheduled an appointment w/ a pediatrician for Oct. 18th. So now the only thing left is to find a baby sitter or day care for her. Do ladies have any suggestions on how to get started? I know I can ask friends but if you ladies have any input that would be great.

Well, they admitted me. I got betamethazone shot and I get one again at 9:30pm tomorrow so I will be here for at least two days. The bleeding has calmed down but I am being monitored. I have had some contractions but still BH for now. No sign of actual labor and babies seem to be doing well spite the bleeding episode. Ethan's HB was really high at first but he calmed down. They are both head down now, Ethan right there like he wants to come out now, Angelina on my left right next to him. This is the first they have both shown presenting. They slowed down in weight gain but are still a great size at 4lbs. The one doc said that he couldn't see a PP so they might give me a transvaginal u/s tomorrow to see just how bad or if I have any wiggle room for a vaginal delivery. I will update everyone tomorrow when I know more. So far so good, we are all doing fine. :)

Latest update... Just spoke with the HR doc and the attending. I am here on hospital bedrest till I deliver. They are going to keep a close eye on me and the babies. Andrew's 2nd day back to work and this happens. lol He should be able to get quarters for this, which means because of my bedrest he gets a dr note saying he doesn't have to go to work. Lets hope his command doesn't stir up any issues with it. So I have to use my phone to keep in touch, I will do my best to make short personals since my phone doesn't let me make long ones.

Hazel - looks like we are in a little race after all. lol Still hoping you get to meet Zorba before I meet the twins. Hang in there, I am sure he will be here soon enough, though I know how every day feels like forever!

Katie - How is Savannah behaving? Still playing hide and seek with daddy? I'm sorry you didn't get all you wanted out of your u/s. What a bummer! All they need to do is measure head belly and femer for estimated weight. Some people.. but you get one every week from now on right? Someone should cooperate! :)

Natasha - Yay girl power!

Babyluv - Thanks for the good wishes.. how are the girls?

Hope all you other mommies are well!

Steph - oh sweetie, no, no, no, no, tell those babies to stay put, I don't want a race!!! I will pray that everything settles down soon and regardless of what the doctors are saying about staying in hospital, that you can go home for another few weeks of cooking those babies. But if Ethan and Angelina do insist on coming out to meet Mum and Dad, then you know that they'll be just fine at those weights and particularly with the steroid shots. Stay strong, honey, and fingers crossed that the hospital visit may even bring some good news if the previa has moved and you can have a vaginal delivery if you want. p.s. Huh, 20 movements an HOUR? Like gi, I was told 10 good movements a day were fine, so that's what I've been looking for - I've always thought Zorba is a really active fidgety baby, but even he/she doesn't get up to 20 movements an hour constantly.

katie - ooooh yes, please do a 'come on contractions' jig for me! Or maybe not jig, as we don't want to unsettle Savannah too much - a gentle sway perhaps? Hahaha, I've also got a husband who sometimes drives me crazy when he thinks he's being really useful. A great example from our house is when he makes food, even if it's just toast for breakfast - he gets everything out on the counters, gets crumbs and bits of food everywhere and thinks the job is 'done' once the food is made, leaving muggins here to wipe the counters down and put everything away again. Oh honey, those BP meds don't sound too great, but it won't be forever, you've only got a few weeks to go now. And boo for crappy u/s techs, don't they understand how we need to know as much information as we can about our precious cargo all the way through the pregnancy? And why on earth does the 3D/4D place need your doctor's permission, they don't in the UK. Weird...and frustrating!

natasha - congratulations on your little girl, wow this is such a pink thread!!

babyluv - well said, I love everyone on here too, I really don't think I would have got through this far with my sanity (even vaguely) intact without the support I get on here. Love you all...

angela - thanks for the tip about sex helping to kickstart labour, I think Steph recommended that a few days ago as well. We have actually been trying that, but I read somewhere that in order to get the right level of prostaglandins from the semen to make a difference to the cervix, you'd have to have sex 3-4 times PER DAY! I'm not sure that DH would be up for that on top of long busy days at work, and I'm certainly not given the size of me and how uncomfortable it is to move around!! But maybe a more 'normal' amount of sex will help, who knows. Willing to try anything at this point... Hope you get your pregnancy massage go-ahead soon - I've had a couple in the third trimester and they've been really relaxing, although I've always had to tell them that I won't lie on my back because it's too uncomfortable, so they've had to do the massage with me sitting up or lying on my sides.

gi - yippee for no UTI, what a relief. I can't believe Kayla has the room to lie transverse, Zorba has been firmly head down since week 25, which I think is partly from gravity and me playing so much golf and being on my feet a lot, but also partly because he/she has measured big all the way through, so there's been less room in there for baby gymnastics. When do you get your next u/s and get an estimate on Kayla's weight?

AFM, aaaaarrrgh, STILL pregnant! The sweep yesterday gave me cramps until last night (a bit like the cramps you get after egg retrieval, which I guess is also messing around with your cervix) and since then, NOTHING! I swear this baby is determined to stay put until Christmas at this rate. Acupuncture tomorrow morning then another sweep on Friday morning. The 'formal' appointment for getting admitted to hospital for an induction will be Friday 17th if he/she is still stubbornly in here by then. Come on, Zorba, you've got to come out sometime, and Mummy would prefer you to arrive before you have the chance to put on too much more weight...

Hazel - HR doc said no transvag and because of the bleeding he doesn't doubt that it's covering the cervix so previous plan of a c-section stands. He ordered mag solfate so I'm getting that now. It's for the babies' brains. It is making me a bit hot and blurry but they said that should pass after an hour or so. No going home either, the HR doc said now that I had my first bleed that I need to stay. He is apparently very conservetive but it's ok. It's what's best. Don't want to hemorrhage at home if that be what fate brings.

Steph - Whew! You had me worried last night! I'm so relieved that you and babies are doing good. I know it sucks to be stuck in the hospital for who knows how long, but at least now we dont have to worry about you having to make the mad dash there alone.Thats been on my mind for awhile now. Was Andrew home when this happened? I must have gotten confused and thought he was still on leave. Aw, honey I know this is kind of scary, but you are in good hands and right where you need to be, right in front of them to keep a close watch on you and Ethan & Angelina. Umm, yeah, I've heard that mag sulfate is known to not feel great, but hopefully the nasty feeling passes soon. Whew! how happy are you that your nursery and furniture is all finished and waiting? that was just in the nick of time! And as an added bonus, now you wont have any large groups of family on your doorstep - hey, I'm trying to make you feel better  You just rest as much as you can and let those L&D nurses take care of everything. it sounds like they have you and those babies on close watch! The steroid shots will help, but I think that at 32 wks tomorrow and 4 lbs each, they are just fine. How funny that now both are head down and presenting - they can hold on a bit longer now with you're being on hospital bed rest. And Andrew had better get assigned to quarters or I'll have to go and ***** slap whoever is in charge of his paperwork! How is Alex doing? I hope she didnt get too frightened by this? We're all here with you and cheering you on through this, I'll be checking all day, but you just rest up, ok? much love to you & your family - ooh, you'll meet the babies soon! - xoxoxo

Hazel - OK, I'll start doing the "come on contractions dance" ( but from my chair, ok?) hee hee
Its funny, but it seems like just yesterday that I was doing the "hurry up first scan dance" doesnt it? Wow, we sure have come a long way, havent we?
OK, now Zorba, I know you're all cozy cozy in there but please come out now. Mum is ready, and she'll go play 18 holes of golf, if you dont start your journey - hahaha
UGH, so nothing else after the cramps from the membrane sweep? Oh, I'm hoping that you dont make it to even have it done again on Friday! Maybe tomorrow's acupuncture session will encourage Zorba to get going? I'm all crossed that you wont have to even see the 17th without that baby in your arms - actually you'll be so tired & sleep deprived that you wont even know that the 17th has arrived

OMG, are you sure you werent describing Chris making toast? haha - It seems to be the same way here! All it takes is one little sandwich to make a big mess, Bread still left on the counter, crumbs everywhere (including the floor, I dont get that, do they sweep them to the floor?) and then he'll put the cold cuts away, but not mustard or mayo, or the bread, or the knife. That is so odd to me, but he will put the plate in the dishwasher, but not the glass he's used? Men are strange sometimes. And to wipe down the coountertop? its like it never occurs to him. But he will want credit for putting the plate in the dishwasher though.
Umm, thanks hon, but what about the rest of the things you left out? He'll say "oh, I forgot that" - sigh. Even feeding the dog, he sees me every night squat down to find the lost pieces of kibble, or bits of carrot & barley from the wet dog food. I like to pick them up before they get smooshed into the floor, yet every single time he feeds Gracie I have to ask if he's picked up the little bits ( she's a messy eater) and every single time he says "I forgot" hmmm, sounds more like "if I mess it up enough times, maybe she'll stop asking me to do it?" Men!

Babyluv - You said it girl! ditto to everything you said! I dont think that I would had gotten through 6 failed attempts and then an ER of retreiving nothing without you girls - I would have been sent to the funny farm, I think lol. By ht etime I was offered donor embies, my head was spinning and you all got me sorted out and calm again - love you all too! I just wish we didnt live so far away from each other - can you imagine how much fun it would be to all get together? wheee!

AFM - Yeah, so after my disappointing u/s yesterday, I noticed that I think my weekly u/s have disappeared now that my BP is much better. You see, they booked my next appt for the 21st which is two weeks away and its with the reg OB, the woman that I like but compare her to a hummingbird - lol.
Hmm, and there is no u/s appt booked for me either - sigh. I guess I'm back to being boring again? Thats actually quite fine by me, i'll take boring over the scare of last week, no problem. And oh, Savannah gave me the hardest kick that she has so far last night! I think she was trying to punch her way out or something - I even saw my belly move - too bad Chris missed it as always, poor guy is always half a minute too late! much love everyone - xoxoxo

Katie - No, Andrew wasn't home when it happened. I had just gone to the bathroom and as always, I look at the paper and all was clear. I go sit down and feel really warm 'there' and in instinct I just took my hand and checked and my fingers came back with red blood. Went back to the bathroom, sat down and called Andrew. I said I was bleeding and he said he was on his way. He said, 'Shes bleeding' and ran out. lol I stayed on the pot wiping and making sure it wasn't gushing and by the time I was done cleaning up he was home. We drove there in flash flood conditions. That was fun. Heavy sarcasm. By the time my neighbor was able to come get Alex so she could make sure she gets to school, it was really bad. By the time they got back to Fort Hood it was flooded and most of it closed. They had to park down the street and Alex had to be carried by an MP to the house. Some places were flooded up to 8 feet! They got there ok and she made it to school today after a 2 hr delay. Fun right? lol I also found a sitter for my fur baby. All is taken care of, the only thing is that I don't have my bag packed. lol I made the list yesterday thinking we could buy the stuff when he got home. Yeah, we know how well that worked out. lol So now he has to go buy the stuff we don't have on his own. Poor guy!

Steph - Ah, jeez I was so hoping that you werent alone if you started bleeding, i'm so relieved to hear that Andrew was able to get home super quick!
umm, yeah, I did see on the news yesterday that TX was having massive rain/ flooding threats, how typical that for all the clear nice days throughout the summer that when you need to get to the hospital ASAP - of course it has to happen on a day of flash flooding! I'm so glad you were able to get there quickly & safely. Aw, poor Alex, having so much go on at once, but honestly, if it were me at that age? I would have loved to get carried anywhere by an MP! She'll have had a good story to tell at school today. OK, so you're alright, and the babies are alright and Andrew is alright, and you pup is alright - whew! for that. Now we just have to see what Ethan & Angelina have planned for their mama. I wonder how long they will hold off, I feel that they're going to be fine - good thing you were growing big strong babies! And as long as they get those steroid shots, I have a feeling that they'll be able to breathe just fine on their own. I'm not even concerned that they'll have the suck& swallow reflex - bet they'll eat like champs! And dont you worry about not having packed your hospital bag - Andrew will bring you whatever you need. He's a big boy, if he has to stop and buy breast pads or sanitary napkins - well he may not like it, but he'll get it done.
Are you feeling alright? will you be on a mag sufate drip long? never mind my dopey questions, you just get as much rest as you can. You're in my thoughts & prayers - all of you. And whew for having internet access while in there, right? We'd all be nervous wrecks here if you werent able to update - Hang in there twin mama, you're almost done and you've done an awesome job with these two! - much love to you all - xoxoxoxo

Hazel - How are you holding up? I've been wishing you contractions all day! Hurry up Zorba, dont want Steph to get ahead of you now -lol Hang in there honey, it wont too much longer now - yes, I know - "get this baby out now!" much love xoxoxoxo
