Steph - I am SOOO glad to hear everything is OK, though I do hope those kids stay in a little longer! Like others have said, I really believe you are at a pretty safe point, though it would suck to have them in the NICU for any length of time. 4 pounds, steroids, 32 weeks...all very, very good things. I was with a friend last night who was in the hospital from 27-31 1/2 weeks because her daughter's placenta (she has b/g twins) was only working at 10% capacity. She gave birth at 31 1/2 weeks and while they were in the NICU for 4 & 5 weeks, they are doing awesome (almost three years old). They were also smaller than yours...girl was in the 2 pound range, boy in the 3 pound range. So you are doing great!! Hopefully your stay flies by, but doesn't end too soon!

Katie - You have GOT to me KIDDING ME about the u/s!!! WHAT THE WHAT??!! I would have been very disappointed as well. Ugh. The good thing is that you should only have 6 weeks or so left until you meet Savannah, but I'm sorry they aren't giving you what you want.

Hazel - I'm doing a jig from my couch as well. COME ON ZORBA!!!

Natasha - CONGRATS on your little girl!!! More pink to add to the list. Seriously, it's getting crazy! Hope you feel better soon and good luck with school.

Angela - Good for you for getting everything set up! It's interesting because I also did my pre registration and I never had to put down a pediatrician...and I have one! Good luck with that interview. Not sure how to help on the babysitter thing, but I would just ask around in your area.

Bei - Glad you are feeling those babies move!!

Gi - Glad you don't have a UTI! Those are awful. I haven't had one in years, but used to get them a lot. That's one reason I drink crazy amounts of water. If I don't, I get them easily.

AFM - Had my OB appt yesterday and all went well. He is starting me on my non stress tests (NST) tomorrow at the hospital (they'll hook me up to the monitors and look for the babies to do several things in a certain time frame, like hiccup, blink, etc). I'll go every other week for the next month, then weekly after 32 weeks. I also asked when he would deliver me if I don't go into labor on my own, and he said between 37-38 weeks...so that would be a max of 9 1/2 more weeks! CRAZY!

I also did the hospital tour today. DH was a champ pushing me around in the wheelchair and even though I go to the hospital a lot for u/s (and have been to triage twice), it was good to see everything else. The hospital is only 4 years old so it's really nice...and the NICU is the 4th largest in the country. Hopefully the kids won't need it, but it's nice to know it's there.

So yea, seems like the dr appts are going to start piling up now. That's ok with me because they make my days go by faster.

Babyluv - 9 1/2 weeks? Wow, seems time is flying by! That is a lot of appts coming your way but it will be interesting to hear the girls moving about and their heartbeats. We are always entertained when they put me on the monitors. Mostly about how the twins like to play hide and seek. lol All they want is at least 20 minutes of a good reading and then they take them off. So glad I don't have to be hooked up the whole time I am here. Three straps are pretty uncomfortable and they don't want me to move so that the babies can hopefully stay still. Your friend's story is comforting. I think they will be ok. The docs are confident that they won't have any issues other than maybe a little oxygen.

Katie - Technically I wasn't alone. lol Alex was there and a big help. She is so great I swear! I love her so much. While I was on the pot she cleaned up the little bit of blood that hit the couch and brought me clean pants, underwear and a pad. How amazing is that? She got my purse and phone ready to go too. The only thing I had to do was get dressed and brush my teeth. lol I am such a lucky mom. :) I will have to ask her if the MP was cute. I haven't gotten to talk to her all day actually. The plan was that Andrew was going to pick her up but he had to wait for his stupid PT SGT to get back to him. He didn't so Andrew had to keep blowing up his phone. This guy is such an idiot. Talk about pissing me off! He is making Andrew go in tomorrow but by the time he got back to him it was oo late to drive all the way out here with Alex just to drive her back to be in bed in time for school. :( So his PT SGT isn't much better than the last jackass and he ruined my day. I was looking forward to watching a movie on demand with my daughter! As far as how I feel, well the mag solfate has me "feeling" like I have a fever. My temp is normal though which is almost mystifying. lol I even have the fever lips thing going on. I get off of it at 9, get my last steroid and take my normal meds plus some benedryl to help my nose and me to sleep. Then I can take a shower and finally get cleaned up!!! :D

Angela - It's ok to miss a post now and then. We all do it. ;) Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. Hop Gabriella is doing well as usual.

Hazel - I am forwarding all my contractions your way. lol Not sure the travel time on that, but hopefully it will be sooner than later. ;) Soon enough dear friend, soon enough! I know how anxious you and all of us are but patience is a virtue... or like I like to say, For some of us, patience is a perfected skill! ;)

AFM - Other than the mag solfate making me feel like I have the flu, I am well. Andrew went and got some things from the house to help move me in per se. He brought the lap top so that is why I have more room to write! YAY!! I shouldn't have to use my phone anymore to post. I havn't had a shower since yesterday when I got up and with the bleeding in the early evening and now the fever feeling, I am feeling pretty gross. Andrew might not get quarters. He has a meeting tomorrow morning and I don't see his shitty command letting him go just that easily. Normally he would get to stay home, but it is a command decision and they do have the power to say no... like meanies!! I will know more tomorrow. I just hope he doesn't play the "good soldier" and he stands up for himself and us and points out the free leave he was promised 2 months ago and never got after they screwed him out of 3 weeks that he earned! Enough about that... must think happy thoughts. :) In about 15 I gt taken off of the mag and gt all my meds and get cleaned up so I better get. I will keep chcking in on you baby mamas and letting you know if there is anything knew going on. Much love to all of you!

Hi ladies!! I've missed you all dearly and I see I've missed a lifetime ;)

Hazel-I thought for sure I'd pop back on to here the great news and our first baby. What is Zorba doing?! With my DD I was induced four days after-I swear she would've stayed forever. I wish you luck and hope we hear sooner, rather than later, that things went well and we have a new beautiful cherub in the world!!!

Stephanie-Holy cow, what a scare! So you are on hospital bedrest until delivery? I will keep you in my thoughts and pray those babies stay put for a while and continue to grow healthy. I know you are doing everything you can :)

Angela-You sound very well prepared and organized-could you help me out? I swear I am living day to day and not getting much "planning" done. I finally found a long term sub for my class and I think I found someone to watch the babies when I go back to work. I actually asked the stay at home moms at my school and found one I trust. If you are still looking for daycare I would start with friend recommendations-they know best. If not, check with your area's registered/licensed daycares. Usually they have a website that lists all people/facilities that meet your state's requirements. Interview and go with your gut-you'll get a sense for each person/place that will really help.

Natasha-Yeah on the girl!!! I love the name you've picked :)

Bei-I'm so glad you felt the babies-what an exciting feeling!

Katie-You poor dear! Waiting all that time for an u/s only to have little info. and no good pics. I think we have a 3-D u/s place in the mall-is that how it's set up there? I can't imagine why they need a doc. approval. strange... Was your blood pressure out of whack for a while? I have been on b/p pills since last Oct. (my second IVF cycle)-b/p can do crazy things to you when it is not right. I have been really low lately and have had dizziness/near fainting spells. I also found out my hemoglobins were low so I am taking 2 iron pills a day. I broke down and bought one of those pill containers for each day of the week so I wouldn't forget to take the massive amount of pills I need a day. Fun times :)

Claudia-How are you feeling? I didn't get to read back far enough to hear what's going on with you so I hope things are well and you are taking care!

Babyluv-It's kind of crazy that we are in the single digit countdown! Are you still on bedrest? I went on the hospital tour this week and thought it would be smart to walk the stairs instead of get on a crowded elevator. Then when I got to the top I started having BH contractions. My DH asked if I wanted the wheelchair-I said I'd wait it out and walk but it was tempting.

Gi-How is Miss Kayla doing? How are you? I hope you are taking fine care of yourself. We are getting to the final few weeks...YIPPEEEE!!!

AFM-I am sorry I'm MIA so much! It is so hard to work with 23 kiddos all day, then come home to my beautiful 6 year old DD and still have any energy. I am hanging in there-pretty swollen and super dizzy (BP and anemia, woohoo) but all in all I can't complain. I can tell I look huge-everyone asks when my due date is and when I tell them they say I'll never make it that long. I pray for every day these babies cooperate, stay inside, and grow bigger. I am so excited that we are all getting further along-I just can't wait to hear about all the arrivals of these beautiful babies.

Please take care! I am thinking of you all

Steph - Seriously?? They might not give Andrew quarters?? WHAT?!! Ridiculous. Fingers crossed and lots of prayers that they do because he needs to be able to take care of his own daughter!! Wow. How is Alex doing? Sorry the mag sulfate is nasty...that's what I've heard. Hopefully you can get off it soon. Are you contracting?

Sara - Good to hear from you! You are SOO brave to take the stairs! I go upstairs about once a week since my mom is here. I know that's overkill, but I'm trying to make sure I stick to the modified rest as much as possible! Hopefully the BH settle down.

Hazel - I hope you are having that baby now!!

AFM - Had my first NST this morning and thankfully the girls cooperated. They were doing more than expected for 28 weeks, so of course that makes me feel better! I thought my OB wanted me to go every other week for the next month, then every week. Nope, apparently it's every week for the next month then TWICE a week at 32 weeks. WOAH!! I made my appt for next week after my u/s (my high risk clinic is at the hospital), so as long as they check everything out in the u/s, I can skip the NST. I think the rest of this pregnancy is really going to speed up since I will have so many appts. I'm hoping anyway! I want to enjoy every minute since I don't plan on being pregnant again (though I don't rule it out), and we all know that it's a whole new ball game when the babies are actually OUT!

Thanks ladies for all the contraction jigs but it's now 40 weeks 2 days and NOTHING! I swear this baby loves it too much where he/she is, even if sometimes it seems that Zorba is trying to kick his/her way out! (Katie - I saw your post about your stomach moving, get used to that feeling, your belly will look more and more like a scene from the Alien films as you get closer to 40 weeks! Zorba's leg/foot sometimes pushes out of the side of my stomach by a good inch or two, which completely takes my breath away and is the world's weirdest feeling...). I had acupuncture today and the midwife is coming to the house again tomorrow to do another sweep, so I'm hoping that today's needles combined with another bit of messing around with my cervix may do the trick!

Steph - yes please, send ALL your contractions my way. We want the twins to stay put and for Zorba to come out! How amazing is Alex? Thank goodness you had someone around to help you when it happened, fingers crossed Andrew gets leave.

Babyluv - I wish!! Wow, that's a lot of monitoring, but at least it might help the bedrest be less boring and we never get bored of opportunities to see our babies, right?

Sara - good to hear from you but sorry that you've been suffering. I can only imagine how tiring it must be carrying twins and to be on your feet all day teaching, plus have a 6 year old at home.

Happy Rosh Hashanah to those who are of the Jewish faith. I believe it's year 5571.. happy new year to your faith!

Hazel - Gosh I think you're right, Zorba is too comfy in there. Maybe another sweep will help. I hope you don't have to be induced. It's always a better story when the element of surprise is involved. lol

Babyluv - Glad the girls behaved for the NST but wow, that many in the future? Your OB is very conservitive. At least you are well taken care of.

AFM - Feeling loads better now that I'm off the mag sulfate. That stuff just makes you feel icky. I finally was allowed to take a shower this morning. The nurse didn't want me to do it last night just getting off the mag, since it can make you dizzy and fuzzy. So today I am clean with fresh linens. YAY Andrew went to meet his platoon sgt today at 6:30am like he was told for the meeting with him and Top. Yeah.. that didn't work out. Stupid jackass never set up a meeting and wasn't even there!! I am so mad at this asshole! The person in his acting position is pissed too and told Andrew he doesn't want to see him. lol He didn't understand why he even showed up. Everything is still up in the air as far as quarters or not. Might know more tomorrow with the acting platoon sgt filling in for dumbass. Other than that, I feel great. Slept wonderful last night, not long but quality was awesome! They gave me benedryl and I could breathe for the first time since the first tri! Aparently the generic version I have at home was a waste of money. lol So far so good on the BH today too. I think the bedrest is really making a difference.

Hazel - UGH, nothing yet? Yes, its true little Zorba really is way too comfy in there! please Zorba, its definitely time to come out.... its a big journey, but you'll love it out here
I've got everything crossed that tomorrow's sweep does the trick!

Natasha - Whew! After all that noise your sister made, she picked a different name anyway? Ok, good, so Nataleah Isabelle it is then

Babyluv - Wow that sure is a lot of monitoring. its great that they're overly cautious, better that than not keeping enough watch, right? And as everyone else said, it will help you pass the time quicker! And who wouldnt want to see the girls as often as you possbly can, right? How is the bed rest going by the way? can your mom stay til you deliver? You wont need it, but it must feel great to know that you 'll have access to the 4th largest NICU in the country, just in case.

Steph - Hooray for a shower and feeling better! Was the mag sulfate a one time deal? or is it on the menu every so often? Aw, Alex rocks! I'm so glad that she was with you. I'm sure that was a scary ordeal. Now that you're in the hospital, you'll be more rested. No matter how much you try to rest at home, theres always something that needs to be done, that you end up getting up for, right? Now you just get comfy ( as much as you can this pregnant ) and you use that call bell! Now WTH is going on with these SGT's ?? good to know that the really smart ones are in charge, huh? These are the sort of things that make me remember all the aggravation my ex had at Ft Benning - ugh does it ever end? Its got to be sooo much worse for you all pregnant with twins and having to wait on which one will finally get around to signing the right papers - grrr! I hope that you get to see Alex today, I'm sure this is unsettling for her, and poor Andrew will be doing alot of running back & forth for awhile. If he gets quarters, is he allowed off post during the day to see you? or is he on the military version of house arrest just in case they need him right away? Well it sounds like you're doing much better now, thankfully! and at least you're not isolated and have your laptop, so we can pester you with dopey questions  - you get some rest and hopefully you'll get some answers on quarters soon
Big Hugs to you - xoxoxo

Sara - oh honey i can just imagine how wiped out you are each day! Taking care of & teaching 23 little ones is alot! never mind when you're pregnant with twins!! And then your DD needs your time & energy when you go home - ita a wonder you arent napping every chance you get! And you've been on BP meds for a long time now? I hate the way they make me feel, but oh well, apparently I need them now. And no, my BP was perfect the whole pregnancy til last week, it just shot up - ugh

AFM - I'm not doing too much today, I feel kinda tired, so I'm just doing easy stuff like laundry ( yes, very exciting, I know!) the weather finally turned cooler so its in the 60's and breezy (which I love!) I've really had enough of the summer heat - but wishing for Fall, brings Oct closer, and for some reason, I feel really unprepared for Savannah. Gee, perhaps I should FINALLY get all her clothes washed & put away?? I've been totally procrastinating that because trying to figure out what should go where will bring out my anal side and end up taking forever! You want to laugh at me? Tomorrow I have to go grocery shopping, and I'm planning to bring the empty infant carrier with me, so that I can grab a cart while still in the parking lot - and figure out how to attach the infant carrier in peace & quiet, with no one laughing at me - now what do you suppose the odds are that someone will come up & try to help me, then give me a funny look when they see the empty infant carrier? You know it will happen, right? much love & luck to us all - xoxoxo

So i dont log on for 2 days and so much has happened....well except for Hazel!!!

Steph OMG how scary i had to read quickly to see the end result and thank God you and the twins are doing ok though i had to laugh when i read you had to brush your teeth before you went thats the last thing i would have been thinking about and i am a dental nurse!!!! Oh i really hope they cop on and give Andrew whats due to him, i am sure he feels helpless and upset not been able to constantly be at your side. Will keep you and twins in my prayers xxxx

Hazel ah come on where is he/she????? I am dying to know already what you are having, i keep telling Kayla to come at around 38 wks maybe she will listen :D Yeah her been transverse can be uncomfortable at times, my doc says thats why i look "wide" as she is all stretched out!! Sometimes its hard to tell between BH and her as she sits right accross the middle of my tummy so i am always hard, sure as long as she is comfortable  I suppose us ivfers prob. dont mind having membrane sweeps as we have already had so much going on down there already, i remember my sis been embarressed when she had her 1st ck on her cervix, sure jason asked me was i embarressed when my doc checked my haemmoroid the other day i was like eh no so many docs have seen my bits and bobs in the last few yrs it didnt even cost me a thought!! I will join Katie in the jig for you....come on Zobra you are not allowed over time!!!!

Natasha another one for team pink!!! you and Andre must be thrilled.

bei yeah for feeling the twins move!!! Its magical isnt it?

Sara i hope work isnt too hard for you and you get lots of rest, when do you finish up for maternity leave???? Is your dd looking foward to the twins.

babyluv i am so glad to hear you are getting lots of appts so they can keep a close eye on you and the twins, before you know it they will be here and ye will be a family of 6 :D

Katie ah i am so disappointed for you that you didnt get much out of your u/s thats what you get for been boring!!!! Isnt it weird watching your belly move, Kayla was at it all day today punching and kicking at the same time my belly was going mad i love when she does that though like Chris jason keeps missing it!! Its time to get cracking on washing Savannahs clothes as you never know when she might come, are you thinking of packing your bag yet??? I have bought a few bits for mine but will prob wait a few more wks i think having a bag ready to go makes it all so real ha you would think after 30 wks pg i would still believe its happening nope not me!!!

Gi - haha - I feel the same way and i'm almost 34 weeks - I dont think it will feel real for either of us until we're holding little Kayla & Savannah. Of course after it taking both of us 7 tries, its to be expected, I think. Sometimes I still fear that she'll have (God forbid) something go wrong, nope I dont think we'll truly relax until their birhtdays. So Chris isnt the only one missing all the movements? Ah, does Jason keep his hand on your belly long enough? I think Chris only waits like 2 minutes and then gives up, and just as soon as he goes away - there she is! The babies think they're being funny
Umm, I wrote my list of what to pach in the hospital bag, does that count? Heehee. How is your Mam doing? I'll bet she's eager to meet her Grandbaby

Hazel - Anything? oooh, stubborn baby - lol

Steph - thinking of you and the babies...

Katie - wow, 1000 posts! Yep, you must really like us - it's a good job we quite like you too given how often you must post! So how did the infant carrier/grocery cart attachment go?

Gi -haha, I was expecting to go into labour a bit early because of the big baby thing, and telling Zorba from about 37 weeks to feel free to arrive any time, and look where it's got me! Hopefully you may have better luck with a more co-operative baby when the time comes!

Steph - I'm so happy that the bedrest is making a difference, thinking of you as always.

AFM, change of plans for today, as the midwife had to cancel this morning's sweep. She'd been out on call between 3am and 10am doing a home birth, so I guess that's a good enough excuse! She's coming tomorrow instead. Although I live in constant hope that I'll be in labour at any moment, Zorba seems to have other plans, so now I guess we wait until tomorrow and take it from there. If nothing else, at least she'll be able to tell me whether my cervix is now effaced etc.

40 weeks plus 3 days and counting! Come on Zorba...

Re: Winter Cycle Friends 2009/2010 - Everyone Welcome!

Steph - Glad you are off the mag and feeling better. Let us know when Andrew finds out about quarters. Yes, my OB is VERY conservative! He is actually the FIL of my friend who had her twins at 31 1/2 weeks (though not her dr). She said he tried to talk her out of a vacation she took right before she landed in the hospital (and was so mad when she DID land in the hospital, though she swears it had nothing to do with the vacay). Even though he wasn't her dr, he was in the hospital every day looking at her chart, handpicking anyone who came in contact with her AND her OR staff (he refused to allow any residents in there). He's on the board of the hospital, so he holds a lot of weight. Now I am definitely NOT expecting that kind of treatment (those WERE kids grandchildren after all), but he is notorious for being conservative. I'm still not convinced that he ordered that many NSTs, as that's not what it seemed to me and there might have been a miscommunication, but I'm actually happy to be seen that often. I figure if I have that many appts, I should hopefully not have to race into triage again if something comes up!

Claudia - How did your 3/4D u/s go?? I have my THIRD and last attempt today. I figure if they aren't going to cooperate now, they never will!

Katie - It's crazy to see your stomach moving, isn't it? Mine has been doing that for awhile now. I think it's the lack of real estate in there :D I had one of those really hard kicks recently as well. Normally the girls make my stomach jump around, but this was a random shot to the gut. Sometimes I do think they are trying to break out!

Hazel - AHHH!! No sweep today?? It's like Zorba is trying to stay in longer to make up for us twin moms who won't go 40 weeks. Well, Zorba, it's OK to come out!! That's very thoughtful of you, but your mom and dad are ready for you!

AFM - As I told Claudia, this is my FINAL 3/4D attempt! DH actually isn't even going, I'm taking my mom. She's never seen an u/s, so I think it will be cool for her (hopefully the girls cooperate!). I also had to go to Old Navy yesterday and get some more pants. Most of my maternity clothes no longer fit properly and I REALLY didn't want to buy more with such little time left, but since I expect to put on another 10-15 pounds (I'm up about 37 so far), I knew I had to bite the bullet. And I'm so ready for it to start cooling down! Katie, I was a little jealous of your 60's weather...it's STILL in the 90's here, and today the heat index is supposed to be 102. AHHH!! It doesn't usually cool off here until the end of Sept (though last year it was still hot during October), and of course our a/c is acting up. I'm so ready for fall...it's my favorite time of year!
