Katie G,
It is really scary when you start bleeding and they cannot explain why. I started bleeding at 14 weeks and have been on bedrest ever since (I am currently at 21 weeks). The frustrating part for me is that each time I have started bleeding the Dr.'s can't seem to give me a definitive reason as to why I am bleeding. Good luck to you and just stay in bed if that is what they are telling you to do!

ladies, im still here and waiting for my c-section date, which is 9/13, next monday. i am 37 weeks now, i guess it is considered full term fo twins. i really can't believe i can make it this far.
i can barely walk to the bathroom now...my previc area is super painful....i know, it is only 6 more days. can't wait....

MYC, that is great you were able to make 37 weeks! Your big day is just about here, how exciting! I wish you the best of luck!

Myc - So close! I hope you are well and hanging in there. You get to meet them in just days! How crazy and awesome is that? lol

Hope all you other mommies are well. I figure I would give a quick update for those who don't follow the winter thread. After my ob's non belief in bedrest, the HR doc at the hospital decided to put me on hospital bedrest indefinately because of a bleeding episode. I can't remember the name (starts with a p?) that they call it after you bleed the first time from a previa but he says it's likely to bleed again and doesn't want me to risk being at home and hemorrhaging. So here I am, got some steroids and mag sulfate. Now just waiting to see how long I can cook these babies. Goal is to hit the 35- 36 week mark. We shall see!

Steph, Good that you feel better now. Bestrest in the hospital is the best for you. I did it for few days and i kinda like it believe it or not. and i am sure you can hang on til 35 weeks. Sometimes you just cant believe how amazing your body is. No one expected I can hang on til now, even myself.

For me, i went to the hospital 2 days ago cuz my previc and low back were so painful, i could not even walk....so i went in to make sure i wasnt dilated. Of course, false alarm.

Hi twin moms. Thanks for the encourging words a few weeks ago. All is well so far. I went for my first OB appointment today. I was told today I would be on bedrest starting at 26 weeks. I was surprised but I understand it's precautionary. It seems like such a short time from now but I will do whats best for all of us.

KatieG - Glad to know everything is looking well with the little miracles! I bled early on in pregnancy too. I started bleeding before the 7 week HB check with the RE so I was sure it was all over for me. I was gushing blood though and continued for 5 weeks. At first visit to the ER I was old I was likely miscarrying a 2nd baby, all they could see was one. The next day I went to radiology for an u/s and there I was told not only was I not miscarrying, I was having twins! Two healthy little heartbeats. It was a subchorionic hemorrhage. I was told then that bleeding is pretty common in pregnancy and even more so with twins and even more so with IVF. I am glad that it was just a little bleed and it's going away or gone by now. I suggest to just go ahead and take it easy as often as you can. I put myself on rest (not bedrest) when I was bleeding. Now I am in the hospital on bedrest because of a bleed from a placenta previa. If your OB wants you on bedrest at 26 weeks when you are just beginning, I would say you have a doctor who really wants to make sure you are taken care of! Good luck to you and those babies!

Myc - I can't wait to hear how things went yesterday!!!! Two little miracles should be out of the oven now! I bet it is amazing to finally know what they look like. I want details! After all, I am going to have to face a c-section here soon too. Though I am sure I won't last as long as you did, you lucky mama you! So names, weight, length, pictures? I hope you are healing well and still in your euphoric state of mommy-hood!
