Hi Ladies,

It is has been forever since I have had the time to post personals!!! This is my first full week back to work where I have programs EVERY night and I have been tired!! Looking forward to the weekend and then I have a few days off the next two weeks because of some Jewish holidays! hoping to get an extra day or so to go to the beach with my dog while the weather is still nice  i had my OBGYN apt this past Monday and i am measuring exactly 29 weeks and I have gained 26 pounds so far!!!!! I was just 20 pounds up 2 weeks ago so hopefully the weight gain SLOWS down because I gave myself a 30-35 pound goal and I'm creeping up on that with 11 weeks to go!!!! My next apt is Wednesday, September 29th :D Below is the picture from Rosh Hashana before Temple services so you can definitely see baby Flick has gotten big!!! I just ordered all my weekly belly shots because I'm going to attempt to start making a scrap book even though I'm not that artistic!

Image

Angela-I'm so relieved to hear that your job is entact. That must be so scary. I'm sort of dealing with what I want to do post baby...I really don't want to work 3-4 nights a week but I also don't want to be a full-time stay-at-home mom!!! I might look into a part time option and see if that works but right now I'm just trying to focus on getting through these next two months!!

PA-yup-Jersey Shore!! But definitely not the experience that the show Jersey Show exploits!!! It gives us Jersey girls such a bad reputation when that is such a small population that acts/looks like that!!! Your life sounds so exciting but I'm sure you will be glad to get over a week off to spend with DH!

Katie-ARRRGGHH!! Your neighbors sound CRAZY!!!!! Open pool policy?!?! yeah right!!!!! hope your siatic feels better!!! I am actually starting to look into going to a chiropractor because my upper back has been very achy lately and my DR says it is because my ribs are expanding!!!! It is covered by insurance so I figure why not!!!

GI-Dance parties sounds fun!!! Flick also thinks he/she is a dancer or soccer player because I am feeling body parts coming out of the side of my stomach!!! it is such a wierd sensation but I also love it!!! Can't wait to see pics of the nursury.

Steph-how are you holding up??? I can't believe that nasty women hitting her child because they can't fall asleep=what a B***ch!! I hope Alex behaves herself and is able to stay with those friends instead. Any update from the hospital if you will be discharged home or not????

Sara-My friend who just had a baby had INTENSE swelling all over her body and her b/p was totally normal and her DR said that some woman just swell unfortunately! Try and sit down as much as possible during the day and put your feet up against a wall when your home lying down to get all that fluid to drain.

Babyluv-how are you feeling? Sorry the girls didn't cooperate for the picture but that's exciting your mom got to see it!!! How is Scarlett's new room/decor?

Hazel-I'm stalking you to see when Zorba makes an appearance!!!! I can't believe they aren't here yet!!!!

Sorry for those I missed!! Love to you all.

OK, I am officially totally fed up now. Not only is my pelvic and groin pain bad enough that I'm shuffling around like an arthritic old lady but I found this morning that I now have piles. Oh joy... The midwife came to do my 4th (yes, 4th!) sweep today and thankfully it was a bit more successful than Monday's attempt. She was at least able to get to the cervix and called it a 'good' sweep, she said the membranes still feel tight but the cervix is at least now a little bit open. So more waiting and seeing... I'm not holding out much hope any more though - I think Zorba is determined to see me admitted to hospital on Friday for an induction! I swear, this baby is going to need to be prised out with a crowbar...

Steph - it's great that you are doing so well! What do you personally think about the option of going home? If that's what you want, then I hope that you find a way for it to work, but I have to say a little part of me is hoping that you choose to stay where you are because as boring as I'm sure it is, at least you are in the right place should anything happen again. I so wish I could come over there and visit! Are they still planning a c-section at the end of this month - that's only a couple of weeks away now!! OMG, I couldn't believe it when I read the story about your neighbour abusing her kids. Poor Alex that she had to witness that.

natasha - glad to hear you're feeling better.

babyluv - so cool that the twins loved the iPhone thing, clever suggestion from gi! Hope Friday's u/s goes well, I can't wait to hear what they both weigh!

Franca - nice to hear from you and to hear that things are going well!

claudia - wow, so you finally got a proper baby belly rather than a little curve - about time at 29 weeks! Your bump's still the cutest one around though... Your week sounds so busy and tiring, roll on the weekend when you can have a rest!

Hazel - oh my poor way overdue friend. It sounds like you are soo ready to pop. I can just imagine how you must be feeling theses past few days. Ummm, you may be right and little Zorba will need to get pried out with a crowbar! That is one stubborn baby! Either that or you've made him/ her too cozy in there that there seems to be no intention of leaving! I'm glad that todays sweep went better, but 4 sweeps already? UGH, that must be super frustrating for you & your DH. Thanks for the info on what the UK suggests on nappie creams, I've looked in my baby books here and all they say is to use at every changing for a preventative measure, but it doesnt say anything about when to start - guess I'll be asking the L&D nurses what they think..
OK, Zorba PLEASE come out, come out , come out now.... I'm truly hoping that you start contracting today and that Zorba feels more cooperative - xoxoxo

Steph - Gah! You are not kidding! we need those shock collars and soon! i swear that we are all surrounded by the stupidest people sometimes! And now poor Alex had to see this? what is wrong with that woman? your kid wont go to sleep so you hit them????!!! sigh - God, how I hate to hear things like that
Andrew had better have a chat with their soldier father, or hell yeah, you should make a phone call! Like you need to hear this story while on bed rest, right?
Oh, honey I would sooo come visit you - it sucks that we are all so far away from each other, doesnt it? Well, is it this weeks DR that thinks you can maybe go home? What of the other Dr? I'm kind of in the middle, on one hand I think you should stay, just in case, but on the other hand, if it were me, I know I'd be eager to be home. What are the odds that Andrew's command will sign off on that letter that he must be your home care giver? Somehow, his command always "forgets" to sign off on important things... Grr! But i know that the strict bed rest has done you and the babies good, look how much better you're doing now. But if you do go home - you promise me that you're not doing a darn thing! OK? Just sitting on your behind only OK? jeez - are we all feeling a bit like incubators yet?

Gi - Yay honey for being 31 weeks! Hazel is so right, a year ago did you ever believe that this is where we'd be now?

Natasha - Ugh, yup, my nose has been stuffy the entire pregnancy, the book says its common, I think I've just gotten used to it by now - but I sure do miss it being normal. You'll settle in with studying, a good study routine is crucial in nursing school - imagine what med school must be like - eeek!

Babyluv - hee hee Amelia & Juliette as UFC fighting champions - too funny. I just hope that they're feeling more photogenic on friday! they probably will now that its not the u/s that you paid for

Angela - Thats such a shame that your in laws hurt your feeling like that - it is hard to get over dopey comments like that, hopefully once little Gabriella is born and everyone is totally in love with her (of course) maybe you can have a fresh start with them? And if that doesnt happen, then at least she'll have 1 set of normal grandparents, right?

Claudia - whee! you finally look pregnant, and you still have the most adorable bump! please dont stress your weight - I think you started out with like no body fat to begin with - so its all Flicks' weight now. and it will fall right off afterwards, especially when you're in such great shape now. Have you finished your nursery yet? or close? a day at the beach with lincoln sounds so fun - enjoy! he must adore the beach!

AFM - Whew! I swear that my sciactic issues and my acid reflux are just taking turns to keep me up all night! last night I was up so many times I ended up trying to sleep upright in a recliner in the living room, first I was up to pee like 4-5 times  Then at like 3am - well here starts the acid coming up into my mouth - yuck! and then I feel like I'm keeping Chris awake by getting up every half hour, so I dont know which is worse? The nerve pain huets but is coming & going and the acid cant be predicted lately, it happens with such random foods, but either way I'm up half the night, fun, yes?
And my lovely neighbors? Ummm, yeah, they're a lot of fun. i really think that they're so desperate to sell that they're just grasping at straws as to why no one wants to buy their house. They're nice enough usually, but just too nosy and overly friendly for my taste. by next week they'll most likely have a new reason why its not selling. Either way, sorry, but not my problem, we all have enough of our own, dont we? much love - xoxoxo

Katie-finished the nursery?!?!?! We haven't done ANYTHING yet   I am going to order my furniture next week (it's in stock so no waiting the usual 10-12 weeks) and I have picked out my girl bedding but not my boy bedding yet and we still have to clear out the rooms and take off the wallpaper and paint!!!!!! I honestly thought this would be done over the summer but looks like it's going to happen in October!!!!! I just made a chiropractor apt for this friday so I'm hoping that helps with my upper back issues!! I would suggest seeing one for your sciatic nerve since it's supposed to help!

Franca – 17 weeks … wow that is great. Looking for the porn huh? Lol, that was funny. I am glad that you are doing well!

Claudia – Oh I love your picture! You look so beautiful pregnant … I definitely think you are having a girl. Thanks for the kind words regarding my job. It has been such a trying time because I have to say good-bye to so many people.

Hazel – It shouldn’t be too much longer and you will have your beautiful baby in your arms.

Katie – I am sorry that you are so uncomfortable right now. I agree with the ladies, do you think going to a chiropractor might help you get some relief?

AFM – Well, there is still mass confusion at work. Yesterday, we were told to stay at home because we had more training to complete. But, then at 10:30am I get a text to go out and work. I surely hope this madness settles down soon. I am looking forward to our maternity tour, which is scheduled for next Saturday. I purposely didn’t schedule it for this weekend because it will give us a break from being on the go every weekend. I thought maybe we could use this Saturday to look and purchase a crib.

Have a great night!

Angela - Hope things start to settle down after the mass layoffs! Funny enough, even though I am here in the hospital in L&D, I haven't had a tour. lol I have done nothing more then se the inside of the rooms. I am on the antenatal side though so it is quiet on this side. Haven't seen the nursery or NICU though.

Katie - You poor mam being so uncomfortable anymore. I hate to say I know how you feel. I have never had heartburn this bad in my life! Sleeping in the recliner to try and sleep? Oh gosh! Those sciatic nerve pain... that is one I haven't had. I hear how horrible that pain can be. Maybe treat yourself to a massage? I would hope that would help. As for the docs, yeah each one on rotation feels a little differently yet respect each other not to step on each other's toes. So this one mentioned if I keep up the good work that I might go home, but I still seem to be given a choice. I am so not having fun laying in this bed and really do wish I could go home, but I do feel safer here.

Hazel - Oh wow, what a stubburn little one you have cooking. lol So who does Zorba get that from? Mommy or Daddy? ;) Hopefully the sweep does something, but either way you look at it, you are done by Friday!! Can you belive it? As far as the option to go home, it is tempting since I do miss being home. The only reason I am opting to stay is because I feel safer here incase I bleed again. They are talking about keeping these babies cooking as long as possible now, so if I make it to 35 they want me to try for 36 and if I make it there, then see if I can make it to 37, not to excede 38 weeks. I don't see that happening though. A part of m wishes they could come out now. lol I am feeling sooo way overdue but of course I'm not.

Claudia - Boy are you a busy bee anymore. Must be harder being so busy with a growing Flick! The picture is great! You just have the perfect little preggo bod. :) I am jealous! I look like an over stuffed turkey. lol I hope you had a good new year! Looks like you are having fun for the holidays! Keep checking in so we know how you are. :) Can't wait to see those 4D pics too!

Franca - 17 weeks and feeling great huh? Sounds like a perfect pregnancy! Don't worry yourself looking up everything and reading stories that scare you. Just come here and chat with us, it's always happy here. We can always share our joys with you. :) Love the porn joke, made me laugh. lol

Babyluv - So you have a couple of rock 'n rollers cooking too? That is so funny. I might have to try that one too. I don't have an iPod though, just a cell phone with mp3 music on it. Wonder if it has to be an iPod to get them moving? lol

Natasha - Hope you get some time to rest and relax. Love the name choice by the way. :)

AFM - So now I am getting Heprin shots. Three times a day!!! The doctor told me twice a day earlier but wrote down three so that is what the nurses will give me. I will ask her about it tomorrow during rounds. I am wondering if they will just allow me to walk around for a few minutes a few times a day instead. I really don't want blood thinners when I have a previa. I have had some old blood coming out after a good few days of nothing. This still could be old blood from the original bleed or old blood from a newer bleed that didn't make it's way out. There is no way to know. Well, I guess we might find out if this Heprin thins my blood. lol Did I mention that they have been giving me Ambien at night too? It doesn't work as well as everyone else I know says it works for them. It takes an hour or two to actually work and doesn't keep me asleep. I wake up throughout the night just like I always do. The only thing is that when I am asleep, it seems to be a better quality of sleep. I stay groggy half the following day though. lol BH are still coming and going. They are nice and strong now but of course not regular. Other than that, nothing to really say. I'm bored out of my mind watching crappy TV, eating bad hospital food and have limited access to the internet. At least it allows me to come, read and post on here. :) You all are my sanity.

Claudia - You look so cute!! Love your bump. Hopefully you can get some stuff done while you have a few days off.

Katie - Yuck, I am so sorry you are feeling crappy again. For some reason my reflux is pretty much gone, though it comes from time to time (but not too bad). I'm not sure if it's because I'm carrying low, the babies moved, what I'm eating...no clue. I'm hoping it doesn't come back, and I'm hoping you can get some relief! And hopefully Savannah moves her little self off of your nerve!!

Hazel - Thinking about you...tomorrow at least things will get going and hopefully Zorba will actually BE here by tomorrow night! Fingers crossed!!

Steph - Ugh, those shots must be awful! I am so sorry you are stuck in bed all day. Definitely ask about getting up. Not sure if they will let you, but maybe. It's always worth a shot. Your ticker says 33 weeks!! You are doing such a great job with those babies! And Ambien is ok for me, but doesn't knock me completely out. DH and I got it when we were adopting Scarlett to help with the 11 hour time difference. Darren can take 1/2 a pill and be OUT! I will take an entire pill and still wake up periodically like you, but better quality for sure. He is sometimes groggy from it, but I seem to be ok the next morning.

AFM - Hit a new pregnancy low last night. I met up with a friend for dinner and when I came out, there was a car parked too close to the driver's side door of my car (to be fair, I parked on the line because the car on the OTHER side was also parked on the line). So I turned sideways and slid between the cars, my butt grazing the other car, my belly grazing mine. I opened the door and couldn't get in!! The place was packed so OF COURSE another car was waiting for my spot, but I had to wiggle myself out and go around the passenger side and climb in that way. Eventually the waiting car left because I took too long. I'm thinking this was not part of my modified rest!! My super thin friend was with me and offered to back the car out for me, but I had Darren's car and no one is allowed to drive it but me (work car).

So yea...the belly totally threw me off! Still not used to it. I could have totally gotten in during my pre pregnancy days, but my friend and I had a good laugh about it.

Afternoon ladies! I think this will be my last pregnant post and next time I speak to you I may actually have some news, rather than grumbling constantly about all the joys of being overdue! Today is 9 days overdue, and DH and I are expected at the hospital at 8-9am tomorrow for my induction, so I have spent today getting up to date with the laundry, sorting out food and generally getting stuff together for a weekend hospital stay. I don't know what to expect in terms of the timing of labour starting - all I know is that they will try the prostaglandin pessaries for 36 hours or so before moving onto stronger things. Given that four sweeps have failed to dislodge Zorba to date, I'm fully expecting to need the stronger drug, which unfortunately is also the nastier one in terms of starting contractions at a gallop, leaving the woman sometimes unable to cope with the pain. But we shall see... I just keep telling myself that whatever happens, provided Zorba and I come out the other side OK, it will all be worth it!

Because it could be Sunday before I'm actually even in labour, please don't worry if I go MIA until next week. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get internet in the hospital so I won't be able to update you until I actually get home, but I promise I will let you know the news as soon as I can!

Angela - oh, I hope you have a lovely time shopping for a crib this weekend, you deserve it after your stressful week.

Katie - honey, I hear you on the heartburn/acid reflux, it's just miserable. It sounds like you're doing everything you can to minimize it. Strangely for me, the best thing to ease it slightly is milk, but unfortunately nothing makes it go away once it has you in it's grip! Feel better soon, only a few short weeks left now!

Steph - Zorba's stubbornness is DEFINITELY from Daddy, lol! Although I will admit to being quite capable of stamping my foot and refusing to budge on an argument now and then! Oh honey, I'm sure you are bored, I wish so badly I could come and visit. Just try and do what the doctors are doing and take It one week, or even one day, at a time. This short term sacrifice will so be worth it in the long term. (((hugs)))

Babyluv - I really laughed at your parked car story, I have the same problem getting into my car in the garage! Plus, is it just me who forgets now and then that I've got this huge bump in front of me and bashes it going through doorways and gaps between chairs etc? I always think passers by must look at me and think I'm a complete idiot - I mean, how can you forget when you're carting round a bump this big???

Take care everyone, next time I speak to you it will hopefully be to tell you whether the first thread baby is in Team Pink or Team Blue (do you hear that, Ethan and Angelina, no racing Zorba to the finish line, lol!!).

Love,
Hazel x
