I'm New to the IVF world!!!

Post by luvdolphin7 »

Let me first start by introducing myself my name is Rosemarie I am 33 years old. I just had a failed IUI cycle and will be starting injections for IVF tonight. I am super nervous/excited. My husband Steve has been amazing dealing with all the ups and downs I'm glad I found this forum. Sometimes my emotions are so up and down I feel like I'm going crazy so I'll be happy to see I'm not the only one feeling that way.

Hi, Rosemarie. I just had two IUI cycles and we're moving on to IVF next year. How's your cycle going so far?

Hi Ladies,
My Husband and I just completed our first IVF cycle after 3 IUI cycles failed. IT WORKED! We are expecting on May 6th.
My experience with the injections was very good. I didn't have any side effects to the hormones and we got two healthy embroyes and find out on 9/13 if were will be expecting two.
Word of advice...if you are given the option of the suppository progesterone or the injections after your transfer, take the injections.
I didn't because I had, had enough of the injections.
Some of the side effects of the suppositories is bloating and cramping.....well let me say.....the cramping is like bad menstral cramps and the discharge from them is really gross too.
So I decided to switch to the injections about a week in and started spotting....YIKES, I was SO scared.
We immediately went in for bloodwork and all was good. They said it was from the suppositories.

Best of luck to you and LOTS OF BABY DUST!!!

Hello! I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Ginger, i am 27 and i was diagnosed with PCOS last year. My DH (33) and I are about to begin our first round of IVF. We did do an IUI last month that was unsucessful. I am not sure really how these forums work I am new to all of this. We dont have any friends or family that really understand how we feel or what we are going through, so were looking to meet new friends that can offer support and advice. Thank you!!!

I never had any problems with the progesterone. You don't want to sit on ice or anything because the cold hinders dispersing throughout the body. (as least that is what my RE said)
They can give you a smaller needle, the one it comes with is as big as the trigger shot....YIKES!
I was given a smaller needle and it works fine but I have to pull the oil out with the larger needle then switch to the smaller one.

I am all of 105 pounds so I dont have alot of fat on my rear and honestly, aside from a few little bruises, its really not that bad.

Hello! I am also an IVF newbie and am excited and a little nervous as to what to expect. I am 38 yrs old and after a hysteroscopy to remove scar tissue we got pregnant only to m/c after 7 weeks. My husband and I did one round of IUI with no success. My FSH had gone from a 10 to a 12! After 6 months of trying on our own again with no success, we decided to do IVF. Now, my Fsh has dropped to an 8.6.

I started my injectibles today. So far so good! Are any of you changing your diet? And if so, what are you doing?:) I am so glad I found this site.:)

Hi, I am also new to the IVF world. I have PCOS and we have been trying for over 7 years. I had a series of inconclusive tests over the years and decided that we are getting old and its either now or never. I start my drugs on Sunday, they came this morning in the biggest box, I have never seen so many needles. Very nervous!

Hi Girls...

I am also a newbie... Im 34 and been tryin for 7 years was in denial that something was wrong but went and found out In jan that my dh was very low... My DH and I started IVF Icsi & had no probably with the meds but after my retrieval I ended up with Hyper stim which they new I would get cause my E was up.... Boy that was awful, I was so bloated I looked 4 mths prego and painful to say the least... THat was in AUg so the Dr wanted to wait till I got Flo (period) one more time before we did a transfer so here I am on my 3rd day of estrace and cant wait till my transfer, Im figuring the 1st week of Oct. :) I am nervous and excited.... I am reading how frequent it is to m/c the first ivf cycle so it makes me nervous but I am thinking positive...

I got 14 frosties waiting for me and I am using 2 the first transfer... if i get twins out of it I will be ok :)

Good luck to you all, glad I found this forum to chat... :)

I already did my Lupron but got delayed with the rest of everything due to hyer stim after my retrieval... :( I am back on track and now on Estrace and hoping for my first transfer in Oct... :)
I hear ya on all the meds you get it seems scary at first but it gets easier with each day... The shots werent too bad you get use to them, I gave them to myself in my belly got alittle bruised but it wasnt as bad as I thought... Good luck with everything...
