Teresa - Yes, definitely have a clear birthing plan. I underestimated the importance of that. I was there when my sister delivered her first baby and she had the opposite problem - my niece's heart rate was plummeting dramatically, my sister was not (and never did, even with pitocin) dilating - yet the doctors refused to listen to her when she WANTED a c-section! I have since been shocked to learn that out of 6 women I know of who have had babies at the hospital where I had Sean, NONE OF US got the level of pain management we wanted. One woman had a natural delivery with no medication at all because the nurses wouldn't give it to her until she was examined by a doctor, and by the time the doctor bothered to show up hours later it was "too late." I used to think women who did home delivery or even midwife-only deliveries were crazy, but between my birth and other prenatal fiascoes I now have completely different views on the over-management of prenatal/L&D care in this country.
Chili - That's such a good number for your ER! Fingers crossed for your results - when are they supposed to call you?
Tammy - Too funny, I have totally done that before with the ovulation test! EPT? They need to start wrapping those things in different colors at least, don't they realize us hormonal women aren't thinking clearly?!
Franny - I am absolutely blown away by the difference in response switching to the other clinic! It's just so wonderful that you got that much better results just by switching doctors. It's funny, so many of us will get at least 3 estimates for something like having new flooring installed but we can be so hesitant to question a doctor... And you are so not crazy for talking to your little ones. We named our embies, and my husband started talking to my belly right after the ET.
