Chili...I'm so happy for you to have 2 embies! That's so great. I have to agree with you...I think that I would do the PGD. I know it's a hard decision to make, but that's what I would do. If they make it through, then it's meant to be. Maybe they are PERFECT and STRONG...just like they're mama. I know that you will do what's right for you. I'm praying for you!

anacris - Welcome to the fall group!! Your twin boys are so adorable! :) I'm sorry you're going through beta limbo right now. Let us know how the repeat beta goes today. Since you mentioned cycling in November, I added you to waiting portion at the top of the list for now until you know more of what's happening.

Alicia (shahney) - Welcome to the fall group!! I'm a first time IVF-er too (there's a bunch of us on here) so I'm glad you joined. Congrats on starting your stims! I'll be on an antagonist protocol too and from how it was explained to me, instead of taking the Lupron prior to the stims to suppress the pituitary/ovulation, you start the stims then add the antagonist injections (ganerilix) to act as the suppressant while still cooking away the follies. My RE wants to use it for me because I'll probably be a low responder by default (only have 1 ovary left.) Lousy explanation I know, but did your RE give you any kind of packet that explained the different protocols?

Franny - Wishing you lots of good luck at your ET today!!! You'll be PUPO by tonight, how exciting!!! Take it easy this weekend and can't wait to hear how it went.

Chili - Congrats on your two that fertilized! That is a tough decision so hopefully and you DH were able to come to a decision last night after talking about it more.

Lou - Good luck today at your baseline & SnS! Hope all is looking good & ready to go!

Victoria - Good luck with your beta today! Can't wait to hear some great results from you!

Turtle- I'm thinking of you today and sending postive thoughts your way!

Chiii- Thinking of you as well and sending positive thoughts to you and your little embabies.

AFM..One thing I am concerned about is my uterine lining was 10 and my baseline Wednesday. I'm pretty sure it's because they didn't want me to start the BCP with full flow a few weeks ago, instead they wanted me to start them once my usual spotting started, but I never got full flow. They said once I stop the pill I will prob start bleeding, but I haven't so far. I'm concerned my lining will be too thick and plus it's old lining from last month. I didn't think to ask about this at my appt. I only started thinking about it last night. Anyway, would you be worried about this?

Franny, lots of luck on your ET today! Everything is crossed!!

Chili - That's truly a tough decision. I guess for me, I would do the 3-day ET if that's what the embriologist recommends. Chances are that if there was a really bad genetic disorder the pregnancy would not take anyway, so why risk damaging embies that are OK? Whatever choice you and your DH make, bottom line is we are all here to support you and cheer you on!

Vicotria- Good luck with your beta today cant wait to hear your BFP

Franny- Good luck with your transfer today! Let us know what you put back when you can

Lou- How did your SnS go today? Do you get to start your other drugs? Are they lowering your lupron amount?

Alicia- Welcome!

Chili- Congrats on your 2 embies! Did you and your DH decide to do the PGD?

AFM- You ladies crack me up about sending me sticks in the mail. No need, I've decided to be sneaky and buy some without DH knowing. I'll probably test on Sunday or Monday as I want to wait just a little longer and give my embies time to start making that HCG. Have a great weekend everyone!

Tiger -- Hi! I appreciate your optimism for my cycle. I'm soooo hoping that this will work too. I'm realistic though... it is an FET so my success rate does go down a bit. I'm mentally preparing myself for another fresh cycle, probably in January.

Wondercat -- When is your FET? How many are you planning to transfer? Have you had your baseline yet? What meds are you on?

Chili -- Hooray for 2 fert! As for doing PGD, I understand your concern with having an abnormality and in fact considered it myself last cycle because my m/c at 12 weeks was due to trisomy 18 which is "incompatible with life". Here's why I decided not to do it. First of all, I never have enough embies to bother with. If I had more than 5-6, then I would definitely consider it. secondly, my RE explained to me that embies can "auto-correct" so that you may remove an abnormal cell and toss the embie when it possibly could have corrected itself and not replicated the abnormal cell. He also told me that a "normal" cell could be removed and there could still be abnormal cells or that abnormal cells begin to develop later in the development process AFTER the cell removal for PGD. He also told me that PGD can damage the embies, esp in older women who have "weaker" embies to begin with and that I might not end up with anything to transfer and be out the money spent on PGD AND IVF. I decided I'm just going to let things fall where they may and not do PGD. There was no reason for my baby having trisomy 18, it's not inherited from one of us or anything like that.... and there's no increased risk for the next pregnancy. In fact, the chance is still less than 1%. That's my take on it.

Franny --- Good luck today! I'm really happy for you to be PUPO!

BLang4d-- When did you stop BCP? I always get AF within 3 days of stopping. If you don't, then I would call RE and see what they say. I definitely understand your concern.

Shahney -- Welcome! Sorry about your m/c. I know the devastation that brings all too well. Do you know why yours happened? An antagonist protocol means that you will use a GnRH antagonist (Ganirelix or Cetrotide) to suppress ovulation when stimming. You will start this around when your lead follicle is 14 mm or so and continue until ER. An agonist protocol uses Lupron. Lupron first is an agonist and causes an LH surge or "flare" response followed by supression. This medication must be started much earlier. The antagonist protocol works better on us older gals. I got only 6 eggs with the Lupron protocol but 10 on my last antagonist protocol with Ganirelix. Good luck!

Teresa --- Ah, so you're going to give in to peer pressure and the evil sticks! Ha ha. I'm still waiting for instructions but I think SnS went well and I will get to start estrogen tomorrow. I'm not sure about Lupron... I think it continues.

AFM -- Baseline u/s and SnS this morning. Didn't show any concerning cysts.... just a couple around 10 mm on the left which isn't concerning RE. Whew! I'm waiting on my instructions to begin estrogen once my blood work is back. Hopefully everything is a go! I hadn't seen or talked to RE since I got my BFN. He told me this morning he was "surprised" and even the embryologist was "shocked" because my embies looked so good. I asked "what happened" and he told me that even with perfect embies, they still only get about a 50/50 success rate. RE gave me around 60% based on my info. I asked about my frosties and he said they typically only have a decreased success rate from the fresh if they were a lower quality. He said my embies were all high quality so he would still give me 45-50% success with two. I'm cautiously hopeful.
