Lauren1171--I can't believe it's taking so long for your D&C. You are being so patient. Getting a new puppy can definitely take your mind off of IVF a few moments at a time. A new neighbor just moved in down the street with a 12wk old chihuahua named Nixon. It is the cutest little thing ever! About the size of a kids shoe. It jumps all over Jack. Makes me want another. Congrats on your new addition!

Ryann--I'm glad your Dad is doing better. I understand your dilema about your frosties. Did you ask about the same day thaw? I think that I would only transfer 2, if I were you. Even if you only do one, your chances are good. You could still get twins from one. Good luck on whatever you decide.

Krys--How are you?

Chili--Are you going to POAS? I hope that you're staying out of crazytown! You're almost there! PMA!!

Tammy--Thinking of you and hoping that you're okay.

Teresa--I'm sure that everything is great! They have to use words like 'normal' and sadly enough, we hear and hold onto every word. Don't let it worry you. Just enjoy being PREGGO!


AFM....Yesterday was such a huge shock for me. I kind of felt like this is what happens when I start to relax. Right now, I am just glad that I had the test done and it will give me piece of mind when DH tests come back negative. Although, it will be in the back of my mind forever. I am trying to keep myself from looking at more donors...just in case...talk about crazytown. Should I be looking? Or do I just pray and be hopeful that his tests are good? DH is away at work and had to go to a lab there for b/w. It will probably take 2wks to get the results. I was on bcp and lupron. I was supposed to take my last bcp on Sunday and continue lupron. Now I have to stop lupron and continue bcp. My ED has to stop lupron and take pills too. My RE said that he would make me a new calendar. I'm not sure when that will be. He will probably wait until we get the results. I also started AF on Sunday. He said that I would start when I stopped the pills, but I never stopped them and it kept coming. It's a yucky one too...cramps and all!

I know I missed some of my girls. I am reading and thinking of you. I hope you all have a fantastic day!

AFM - Ugh I've missed like at least half of you, but this ER was so much more painful than the last, so I gotta rest. Last time, I felt nothing. This time, I'm still sore! So, everything else is going exactly the same as last time. They got 6 eggs, 5 fertilized!! For those asking, they send the single cell to NJ on Thursday and I get the PGD results on Saturday morning along with the phone call of whether to come in on Saturday (Day 5) or Sunday (Day 6). Last time was Day 6, so we'll see.

First of all...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEE! ok im a total goof ball in a great mood today! I got my AF on time for the first time in my entire life!!!! yay! so I have an appt for bloodwork and a sonogram tomorrow morning. IS THIS WHAT YALL CALL SnS? Lupron still going smooth, not too many headaches anymore! Menopur and Follistim starts Friday!!!! yay!

Franny - omgosh on that surgery!!! praying for your family!

PUPO girls - any POAS goin on??? i cant decide if im going to do that or not!

One question i want some input on....I had a sonohysterogram (the water thing) done a couple of weeks ago and he said my uterus was fine, but he never mentioned doing a trial placement! Is this bad??? he said since im only 27 and my uterus is clear he dont think IVF should be a problem for me...but im nervous knowing he didnt do that trial thing. advice???

Lauren319- That is an awesome fertility report! I'm so happy for you but I'm sorry you are hurting. Mine was the same way as I dont remember being painful the first time but was really sore the second. Get some rest and I hope you feel better.

Rio- I am so sorry to hear about Lou! All my prayers and best wishes to your family that he will pull through and get better.

Chili- how are you doing? Have you had any symptoms? Are you staying strong or do you plan to POAS. I'm sure you can't wait for Friday either.

Karin- I hope those test results come back extra fast. I would wait to see the results of your DH bloodwork before looking for another donor. You may not need a new one and we dont want you to drive yourself crazy looking for another. Hang in there sweetie!

tx- I'm glad AF arrived on time for you and your almost to your stims. YAY! My apt on friday is for an ultrasound. I dont think they are going to do anymore bw but who knows.

Franny - I'm so glad to hear Barry's surgery went well! What a stressful time for you both this last week. Hopefully he will feel like a new man now after this surgery. And I'm sorry you're having some bleeding. I'm not giving up hope yet though, so post when you can.

Teresa - I'm so excited to start my injections next week! I'll be on the antagonist protocol - so no Lupron. Just straight to stims, then add in the antagonist injections.

Lauren319 - Sorry you're feeling so sore, but YAY for 5 fertilized!! Hoping the PGD results come out great too!

Brandy - All ready for your ER tomorrow morning? Will be sending positive thoughts!

Ginger - YAY for having your baseline tomorrow and starting stims on Friday! It's happening fast for you now! And I'm not sure that it's a "bad" thing that they didn't do a trial transfer. My RE does do one (mine's tomorrow along with my saline u/s) but I'm not sure if most do or don't. We'll have to see what the other ladies say.

Karin - I really hope DH's b/w results get back real soon so you can get this show back on the road again!

AFM - Well my insurance did pitch in on a couple of the non-fertility medications but all told - my OOP for the meds for this one cycle is $4730. HOLY CRAP, I knew it would be a lot, but I still want to puke! Now that does include the $1k+ worth of meds I already bought for the IUI I never had, but WOW, I'm still lightheaded LOL! And to think that's just the meds...we haven't even written the check for the IVF procedure yet. Yeah, this is definitely the only fresh cycle we'll be able to afford, so it's baby or bust. Oh, and baby-in-a-box will be arriving on Thursday.

I need advice.....
The progesterone shots are killing me..
No word of a lie I have bumps on my butt
that are the size of baseballs.. I have been
putting hot pad on all throughout the day and
massaging.. I called my clinic and they sugested
soaking in tub full of Epsom salts for twenty min.
I bought this cream at the health food store called
arnica cream which is apparently suppose to help.
I just started the tub and cream yesterday but my butt
is disqusting.. Can hardly get my pants on.. Is this
normal?!? I heard the shots were not very nice but seriously
I paid all this money for a baby not butt implants!!
I hope everyone is doing great. I'm hanging in there besides
this whole butt ordeal.
Ryann- I'm so glad to hear your dad is alright, I will
continue to say a little prayer for him.

Klinger.....Ouch! I know how you feel with the OOP expense. It sucks! Oh well....it is what it is. At least you get to start soon! And no lupron!

Lauren319....Great fertilization report! Hope you feel better soon. About your question of PGD? No...my RE said we couldn't proceed if he's tests positive as a carrier too. I wouldn't anyway. It's more money, a huge risk and we could end up looking for another ED anyway. If he tests negative...we keep going. Both parents have to be a carrier for the baby to be affected.

4730! YIKES is right. I had shared previously that I was (pleasantly) surprised that our meds only cost 2400.00. We were expecting 5,000 so I'm not sure why so much less unless we end up having to order more FSH.

I'm right there with you... this will be the only fresh IVF cycle we'll be able to afford. It's pretty scary. I'm trying not to stress, but, as you know, that's hard. I don't want to add up what we've spent for this cycle. The unpleasant surprise for us was the cost of sperm aspiration. Man, that was ever so costly.

Did my first Lupron shot today and it went well. Thankfully, I don't have a headache. Not sure if those usually occur on day 1 or if it takes a few days but I'm thrilled to have today be a good day.

Nancy - YAY for your first Lupron injection going well! Yeah, I was hoping for a pleasant surprise, but alas no luck. I'd been told the meds on the antagonist protocol could get pricey but wow. Well, at least you and I are cycle buddies and we'll just have to keep each other from getting stressed out about this being our only fresh cycle...how we'll do this, I have no idea...but we can do it!

Hi All,
NOPE!!! NO WAY!!! UH UH!!! NOT GONNA!!! UGH!!! I won't POAS!!! OK! I've officially hit crazy town in a big way! Trying sooo hard to stay away from Target or the drug stores today! I'm just too afraid to get my hopes up or dumped before beta on Friday. I'm feeling VERY hormonal! That's the only way I can describe it. It feels like the week before my period, mood swings, flashes, weird anxiety, can't sleep all night but very tired during the day. Still have no cramps or spotting. I just don't know what to think. Is it Friday yet?!!! Somebody come over here and keep me away from the stores!! I'm going to Yoga, maybe that'll keep my mind off of things. I'll do personals later. Alot had been going on with all of you! Is it Friday yet?!!!

klinger -- What tests are you having today? Good luck! I know... the cost of these ivf meds is ridiculous. I call follistim "liquid gold". We are all out of pocket as well. At least insurance covered something, right?

Franny -- I'm so sorry you started bleeding. That really can damage PMA... but.... I'm still praying for your beta. Glad Barry's surgery went well. His health should definitely improve going forward now that the icky stuff is out.

Ryan -- I think I would thaw and transfer two embies and keep two frozen for a sibling. Your chances are excellent, even with one.

Krys -- Maybe you are allergic to the vehicle the PIO is in (i.e. the oil). Perhaps try changing formulations? Talk to your doctor.

Nancy -- Good luck with the Lupron. I hope the headaches stay away. I only get them on 20 units.... 5-10 units doesn't bother me much at all. I don't know what dose you are on but it takes 20 units to suppress me. We found that out the hard way.

Chili -- Two more days!!! You can do it. No evil sticks, ok?

Sorry I didn't get to everyone.... I am reading faithfully!

AFM -- Work has been super busy lately. I've also had events pretty much every day after work so I don't get home until 9-10PM. That's why my posts have been a bit sparse. I've got a killer head cold and my ears and sinuses are so clogged I can't hear or breathe. It's awful. I'm not sleeping very well at all. I'm still on Lupron and Estrace and going for a SnS on Friday for a lining check. I'm praying everything is on track still for the 15th.

Chili - I'm sorry you've hit crazy town!! Stay strong girl!!! Of course, I'll crumble like day old bread when it's my turn, but don't be weak like me LOL. What time is your beta on Friday and what time will they call you with the results...so we all know when to stalk.

Hi Lou! I go for my saline u/s & pelvic eval/trial transfer later today. I know you mentioned that the trial transfer was beneficial for you since they found they needed to stretch your cervix some. I'm glad my RE's office does them too. I've had a lot of procedures over the years on my cervix (2 LEEPS, a cone biopsy, laser surgery) so what I have left of a cervix is just a little jumble of scar tissue (from what docs have told me.) I know when they did the HSG last year they kind of had to poke through things with the catheter. I'll feel better knowing they've scoped out my little scarred up cervix and tipped uterus ahead of time.
