really? y'all hadn't heard the dildo cam comment before?

When I go in for my u/s, there are always sheets to cover yourself up - but I don't feel like I should waste a clean sheet (that the hospital will have to launder) just to cover my lap for someone who will be shoving a transducer up into me! Seriously, the technician there f*cks me more often than DH during our cycles. I don't really need so much privacy. Whenever there is a substitute technician, she always tries to cover me up. I don't get it - if I'm cool with not being covered up, what's the big deal?

I remember the first time DH saw me get a transvaginal u/s. I was already so used to it from the follicle tracking cycles I'd done and, of course, the IVF cycle. (this was the first u/s after we found out I was pregnant.) He was shocked that the tech and I just chatted about the weather/traffic while I dropped trou' and she lubed up the condom-covered transducer. For about a week afterward, everytime the u/s came up (which was a lot! we found out it was twins) he would just get a funny look on his face and say "I watched another woman f*ck you..." :) (hey - it's already hellish - why shouldn't we laugh about this stuff?!)

nothing new with me. I'm continuing my BCP until my beta drops to zero. Bleeding actually stopped today for the first time since my D&C 2.5 weeks ago, but it'll probably be back. Hopefully my blood test next Thrusday shows a negative hCG (funny how all we want is a positive beta, but suddenly I want that number to drop, not double!)

Hi cycle buddies. Not much happening right now. I'm still healing from my TAC surgery. I can't believe I am approaching another IVF cycle. The last few months really seem like a blur. I went for my CD3 bloodwork today. All looked great. So on CD10 I go for a saline sono and start ovulation predictor kit. Then soon after that is positive I'll start Lupron. Then once AF arrives again, I'll start stims (Follistim with low dose Lupron). It worked the last time! So fingers crossed for another great cycle! Now that I have my bionic cervix, I'm ready to use it!!!!! Hope everyone is doing well! xo

Hello ladies,

I am so glad I found this board. My story so far, Boy(37) meets girl(36) falls in love, all possible precaution/position not to get pregnant for 4 years, then girl realizes she is getting old, somewhere around the same time maternal instinct kick in,friends/families babies and preggy women are all around, we try try try, still no bun in oven...

2 IVF/ICSI, still no baking in sight. This November will be our last attempt. We have consulted over 7 doctors and they say nothing can be done about my sweeties low count everything.

Past two years have been emotional roller coaster with million questions from friends and zillion from in laws.
We get invited to baby showers and children birthday party, it is so difficult for me to be surrounded by kids and not have any of our own.

This will be our lucky cycle ladies, so start peddling :D

Leorira- So, I heard about the conception kit from a friend of mine. It requires a prescription, but fortunately my husband and I are both doctors so we are able to write prescriptions. It costs $300 if your insurance doesn't cover infertility (mine doesn't) it comes with some ovulation predictors, pregnancy tests and 3 cervical caps plus a practice one. Believe me the practice one was very smart thinking! So basically your DH puts the baby juice into the cap (there is a latex free condom for collection) and then you insert it. The first time I tried the practice cap, I thought for sure we won't use it. It felt like my cervix was on pluto, but finally i got it! When had a positive ovulation test we gave it a whirl. It seems one step classer than the turkey baster :) Unfortunately- BFN.

When I go from my sono on Day 9, I'm hoping to find out that I have some eggs on my good side (left) if so we'll definitely try the kit again- wish me luck!

LisaB75- thanks for the AF dance, you must have had some excellent moves because she came right on time :) We're in the same boat btw we're paying out of pocket, ugh! and we're also trying for #2 after success with our first IVF.

Riogirl- Congrats are your past successes and glad that your hubby is okay even if his swimmers were damaged by chemo. You'd think that his parents would know what a great celebration it would be to have another baby after going through chemo!!

myizzy- so sad that your family doesn't support your wanting to grow your family with your husband and also very sorry to hear about your tragic lost of your first husband- i can't imagine.

amaut- totally jealous, pregnant in Spain will be fantastic for you ;) can't wait!!

Babydreamz- Keep that oven on pre-heat for lucky #3!!

Karen- We'll be really close in time, my saline sono will be on October 7th.

Jessica- I don't consider myself young (kinda in the middle) but have heard that too "oh you're young don't worry" i have to say it feels nice to hear, but doesn't really make me feel any better. we each have been through so much, sometimes we just want support and not someone telling us why we shouldn't worry or why we need to relax.

Bichonman- I think we all understand crazy/emotional lives 'round here :) your talking to a group of women off/on high doses of hormones for several months/years :) we're all ears here.

Annashope- I looked at the calendar and I'm right behind you, lead the way for our BFP!!

Sorry If I missed anyone, I can only hit the people that I can see on the last page, so make sure you check in with us :)
Me-34- 1 tube shy of a pair
DH 33- 6% morphology
TTC- since 1/07
IVF 5/2008-- BFP! (joy to the world)

still tryin' in the meantime!

Rio: thank you! I hope DH at 58 this year can bring luck to us! thanks for the calendar! I will update there when I have my calendar.

afm, glad to see the thread is growing but meaning there'll be a lot of catchup! I just had a hysteroscopy today from the new clinic. RE gave me a screen and said that my uterus is normal. He also gave me a paps and mock transfer at the same time. DH and I also have the blood drawn for DE IVF cycle. The nurse said that FDA blood work need to be done in every 6 months if I'm going to carry the embies. For DH, he will need an additional FDA b/w 7 days within ET. DH had a SCSA and a complete SA done. His complete SA came back and is about the same, morphology problem. He also has motility problem but the clinic is not too concern if we use ICSI which is a must. His SCSA result will be back next week.

Hi ladies, looking forward to cycle with you!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I have few questions, if you guys could help, I have been losing sleep over really trivial issues...
1. How many days should be on BCP, my nurse said it could b anywhere from 10 to 14 days- anyone knows what does that depend on? She said that it all depends on RE and patients schedule.
2. Is HSS done when on BCP?
3. How much does injection training usually cost?

Rio: I will be getting my calender on Wednesday and will def. update.BTW calendar sharing is a wonderful idea.

Thanks ladies!

Babydreamz - hi! My RE has me on BCP for 21 days. The last 7 days overlap with Lupron. Then I am on 10 units of lupron for 17 days, then go to 5 units of lupron when I start stimming. Where I go the injection training class is included in the IVF cost (I'm out of pocket). I am sure it is different everywhere. I don't know what HSS is?

Hope I helped a little.

yay, it's OCTOBER! We are getting closer...

I'm so tired of waiting.... I have another check up on Thursday. Hopefully my spotting (from the D&C) will stop by then and my beta hCG will be zero. (funny how you really really want it to be high, but then really really want it to reach zero...) I've heard the average time from a D&C (bc of missed miscarriage) until hCG reaches zero is 30 days. My D&C was Sept 14, so hopefully I'm getting close!

I really want to start. A friend of mine just got her BFP on her fist IVF and I'm so jealous. I want a BFP! (well, especially one that sticks around for at least 30 or so weeks!)

I know cycling will be stressful, but waiting is driving me nuts!

yay OCTOBER!

Venting post:

Most Drs are really nice, but I am just too furious with our Urologist/male reproductive specialist. He calls and says that the results for my DH SA looks just great, all the results are just fabulous. I was so excited and thought, finally things are falling in place. I request him to fax reports to my RE. When I meet RE, he says the reports are the same, no changes what so ever, I was so confused, he handed me the copy of SA report and they were the same as previous reports. We were expecting some improvements because DH has been on Proxeed for a while now.

I called Urlogist, and he said that he realized that he was reading the wrong report!
I was so angry, that meant that he knew before hand that he made a mistake and didn't bother to call us. I def. want to change my Dr but have just few more weeks to go for the big day. Hubby will need MESA/PESA so Urologist will be part of the ICSI procedure.
So confused, I can just kick him! I understand we are human, and make mistakes, but if he realized his mistake he should have called me at once, dont you think so...???Grrrrrr
