Hello "FALL CYCLERS!" :D

This is my first post on this board. I see that you all are very active so I hope you don't mind a "new" person in your group!

My ER is scheduled for around the 12th of October and ET soon after that. My DH and I are doing IVF with ICSI. He just had his biopsy on Friday and is still VERY sore! poor guy!

I had a question about the side effects of Follistim and Menopur. Right now, I've been on 300iu of follistim for 3 days and 275iu for 2 days. I also added the Menopur for the first time last night. I have my ultrasound and bloodwork scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Does anyone suffer from extreme fatigue on these injections. I think it is taking every ounce of energy to write this post.  I am so tired. I am also emotional but I expected that. I had to leave work early yesterday because I could not stay awake. Any advice would be helpful. I've been reading your posts for some time and now I'm happy to have something to post about. I wish you all BFP's very soon!!!!!

Thanks so much!

Kaylie

Kaylie (FrecklesDC) - Welcome to the Fall group!! We love to have new ladies join our group (the more, the merrier) so we're glad to have you here and hope this cycle goes great! :D I personally have never stimmed yet, but I'm sure those that have will chime in on your question about the fatigue. I'll add you to our list and let us know how your appointment tomorrow goes.

Thanks so much for the response! I am excited about this journey and want to help support others if I can. :D

Please keep me posted on your progress as well. Thanks again for responding. Is your husband in the service? Mine is a Marine Officer so when I saw a uniform, I just wanted to ask! :D

Have a wonderful day!

Hello fellow residents of crazytown. Have we elected this week's mayor of crazytown yet? I vote for Lauren and Brandy for their 2WW... ;)

AFM - I got the bill in my email box today for IVF with ICSI with AH. I have not had the guts to open it yet since we are all out of pocket, ouch... I still have my aunt, mom visiting and staying with us, DH is on a camping trip with his dad. So I essentially am caring for 4 toddlers ;) my puppy, our son, mom and my aunt who expect me to work a full day, come home cook and clean and watch a puppy and toddler and serve them hot meals all by myself :) my aunt was watching our 2 year old... yeah watching as he was going to drive his trike down the stairs! Seriously, so was she watching him - sure! Was she watching him as he was going to fall on his face down the stairs without doing anything - sure! So it has been challenging to say the least ;) but I am looking forawrd to my baseline US at the end of the month and getting closer to my cycle! Oh I miss DH!!!!

Freckles - they don't call it crazy juice for nothin'!
Klinger - thanks for keeping the list - you are a life saver!
Chili - I am so sorry again hun, have you thought of using your daughter as an ED? Would be essentially yours too... sorry if it is a crazy idea but thought I would throw it in there!
Karin - you crack me up, I was looking at a pic of Rebecca Romjim (sp?) and was also wondering if she did IVF since she does not have identical twins...
Blang - wow! 2 gorgeous balsts and you are PUPO! Quality is everything and you got it girl!
coop - we are all going through something right now! Welcome!
Lauren - you are going to get throught his by becoming our new mayor of crazytown and giving us constant updates on your crazyness! And we will all be here to listen and cheer you on to your BFP!
Teresa - how are the twinsies doing? :)
Lou - send some shrimp tofy this way!
Franny - hope DH is well please give us news
Ryann - praying for your dad and how's the new pup?

rio - Your post cracked me up, you poor thing!! I could just picture your Aunt "watching" your son as he was about to ride his trike down the stairs...yikes!! And yes, I think Brandy & Lauren can share the mayoral duties of Crazytown for the next week or so till their betas. I can't wait until your baseline appointment gets here...end of October's not too much longer thank goodness.

Kaylie - Yep, hubby's a SFC in the Army. Nice to have another military wife on the thread! :)

Thanks, Rio, and thank you to the forum for electing me co-mayor of Crazytown.

I would firstly like to thank my husband for doing almost nothing around the house. Admittedly, he made me egg and cheese sandwiches and brought me pineapple in bed while on bedrest, but did not clean anything but the dishes he used, leaving my house covered in cat hair. I'd also like to thank his mother for being the most annoying person on the planet who blamed me when her family dog bit me an eighth of an inch from my jugular vein and has had it out for me ever since. Coming in close second is my mother whom I've told nothing because she is an anxiety-ridden beast who has already decided that I'm having a whole brood of children with IVF (with no regard for how much money or mental health it all costs us). I owe most of my thanks to my family genetics for making half of my embryos literally retarded and to my husband's varicocele, providing sperm with two heads and such. This is truly an honor.

Lauren - you are going to get me in trouble at work - your post cracked me up so much I was laughing out loud. You have the same sarcastic sense of humor as my DH has and I love it! I just love it! We should all do a heartfelt thanks rant like yours for this crappy IVF journey! Hey I love modern medicine and we would be nowhere without IVF but it really stinks.

I would love to be elected mayor of crazy town in my 2WW and I promise a great speech to follow in Lauren's footsteps, I think Klinger will be my co-mayor then...

Have I also mentioned that I love the fact we can all be potty mouths here with no guilt - **** yeah! ;) hihihi

BTW- so at my son's b-day party here comes a mom with 3 kids (about 1 year apart, no problem getting preggo) and get this - super skinny after having a baby like 2 mos ago and looking like a movie star!!! WTF!!! Crap! those women should be put on fat island with nothing but McDonalds for 5 months, how dare they be that glamorous? I am still trying to lose my 20lbs and am going to be the chubby soft preggo lady tooting!!! Argh life is not fair! I can't even go potty by myself these days (I manage a puppy and a toddler while doing business) let alone find time to exercise! :) Thank God for photoshop!!!

Lauren319......I was in the waiting room of my dermatologist when I was reading your post and was laughing so hard. I'm sure that everyone in there thought I was crazy. Awesome speech...BTW!

Rio.....Yeah...the lady at the BBQ with the twins was looking quite skinny and glamorous also...with 3 kids. That's California for ya. I have a pretty bad potty mouth too. I've been trying to be better. So many times I type what I'm thinking and end up going back to change it. When Hannah was younger, we had a swear jar and I was always putting money in it. Now that she's older, I say do as I say, not as I do. I don't use the F word in front of her, but I do use it....too much. It's nice to know that we can relax and type how we really feel without judgement.

Freckles....Welcome!

AFM.....I went to the my dermatologist today for a skin check. I haven't been there in about 2yrs. Last time I was there I had some precancer stuff frozen off, so I thought I should get checked again to be sure before my cycle. I'm all good! My Dr was asking me about married life. I said good and she asked about kids. I said, we're trying. She asked how long and if we'd gotten help. She started telling me her IVF story. She said that she tried for 4 years and had 12 IVF cycles including FET. Then she got pregnant naturally at 41. I just think....12 cycles? She said that she even went to Colorado to try a different RE. I don't think that I could do it. I would probably lose my mind...not that there's much left to lose anyway. Scares me to death to think that that could be me......see.....again.....crazytown....f*ck.....

Lauren319 -- Somehow I know you will make it til Tuesday. I have a good feeling for you this time! Will you POAS? And shit... your last post was hilarious!

Coop-- Welcome. What do you mean by "egg donation"? Does that mean you are using an egg donor?

Tess-- How are you feeling? I meant to ask you, how many frosties did you transfer and what were the grades? Do you know? Thanks for your support!

BLang -- Yay for two blasts! Great news! Now for the 2ww. Just enjoy that you very well could be pregnant.

Karin -- Yup... started PIO last Friday 10/1 along with the HCG trigger shot. My clinic does it even though it's a FET and there's no retrieval per se. They try to mimic a real cycle.

Chili -- Awesome to see you back! So glad DH is open to donor eggs. That's great news!

Freckles -- Welcome! I always feel like crap on Follistim. Almost "flu like". So yes, it's normal.

Rio -- Ugh... the IVF bill. That's a tough one to open! Shrimp tofu pad thai coming your way! I've got leftovers! And I hate the skinny glamorous ***** with 3 kids too! Just who the hell does she think she is?!?

AFM -- I'm feeling a lot of pressure for this FET to work. I just can't imagine doing another cycle at this point. It will be my fifth transfer and a total of 10 embryos. All my embies looked very good, so I don't get it. OK, I did have a BFP that ended in m/c.That was MUCH worse than a BFN. I really thought I was going to get to keep it. M/C risk at 12 weeks is less than 5%. But for me... so far I'm batting 100%. This just HAS to work. I cannot take no for an answer at this point. One healthy child. That's all I'm asking for. I'll shut up and count my blessings if I get that. I'm not greedy.

Rio - the skinny ***** didn't have to spend all of her money on ivf, so she probably got lipo and a personal trainer so she could look like a milf while the rest of us want to kill her. I hate her for you.

Lou - my fat ass is starving and would also love some pad thai. thanks. in fact, i'm gonna order some now. so thanks for making my ass fatter. No pressure, hun. I know how you feel with the stupid percentages. First, it was there's no way your blood type is AB-. Then, there's a small chance you'd be a carrier of this "thing," but we don't have to test for it. Then, "I doubt it'll be a large enough deal that you would have an affected baby." Yeah, I'm like an anomaly. It's gonna work this time. The less you think about it, the less stress, the more chance of it working. We can do it.

Karin - you will not have to do 12 cycles!! Derma-crazy-lady is insane...and I'm assuming she didn't use a donor...and then had immaculate conception, so I don't trust her, but I'm glad she thinks your skin is healthy :)

Ok I just read three pages and stupidly did not take notes. Using iPod so I can't scroll back. Welcome back Lauren, and welcome to everyone new. I will remember all names someday lol!!

Lou - I am with you. I have done 4 cycles and transferred 10 great embryos so far. My 5th cycle will make 14 embryos. I had one positive with you, and miscarriage as well. I think I am at the whatever point. I have not yet got very upset about the negatives, but since this is the last cycle I will be mad if it does not work. I remember being 21 and a friend from highschool and I were out partying every might. We joked about how most girls from high school were all married with kids, and could not be having any fun like we were. Now I have friends with 17 year old kids and I am the one who wants one!

Lauren - You crack me up!!!! Tuesday doesn't seem so far when you consider my beta will be in December lol!

Wondercat - I think you need to gradually stop seeing your mil. I can not believe how terrible she is! My mil is the nicest woman. My inlaws have a 3 bedroom house that they just recently allowed my sis-in-laws bf to move into when she had her 2nd kid (1st son is 7 from another guy when she was 19). So 4 adults and 2 kids live there, and if we told her we needed to she would tell us to move in too!! That would never happen! But isn't that what parents are supposed to do for their kids? Taking the cupcakes and wanting to get paid for them. What a disgusting slob!

OMG the posts today are awesome.... great writing, ladies and much needed humour to get our minds off this freaky trip.

Kaylie, seems we're cycle buddies - I'm also going for my first follie check tomorrow, and my ER is around the 11th or 12th! I'm on 300 mg Bravelle and 75 mg Menopur, as well as 5 units of Lupron. This is twice what my last dose was for our first IVF.

I am amazed at the ability for you ladies to do personals. I need to take notes as I read and then respond, because I can never remember whose names goes with whose particulars when I go to answer.

Someone asked if I got OHSS with our last cycle and 22 eggs... no, not even a bit. I was really sore, but drank lots of salty liquids and everything seemed to be fine.

We have had five good embryos transferred, with two low-beta bfp's and blighted ovums at our first ultrasounds. I'm really not putting a lot of thought into this cycle - seems last time I was so wrapped up in it that it was all I could think about, but this time I seem to be really super casual about it. Maybe the last couple of months with no computer at home, no blogging and no obsessing has done me a world of good.

I am curious as to how many eggs you ladies are transferring. We did two with our fresh cycle, and then three with our FETs... I want to do three fresh this time - anybody else comment or know already?

Hi everybody

Lauren319 - thank you so much for the speech. It was the funniest thing I've heard in ages. Us New Zealanders love sarcasm! Tuesday - wow! not too far away. Will you, will you will...you know what!!!! [quote="Lauren319"]Rio - the skinny ***** didn't have to spend all of her money on ivf, so she probably got lipo and a personal trainer so she could look like a milf while the rest of us want to kill her. I hate her for you.

Lou - mmmmm pad thai. I've got my fingers crossed that this is the cycle for you. To answer your questions, I had two frosties transferred. Our clinic doesn't grade as such but they did say they were perfect blasties.

Karin - 12 cycles. I can't even imagine it. I went to the dentist just before my ET and he shared his IVF tale with me. At that stage, DH and I were deciding whether we transfer 1 or 2 embies. Our ER had recommended 1. My dentist told me he had 12 week old twins and that he was very tired and life was manic. He later went on to encourage us to transfer 2. :)

Coop - welcome to the board. You'll just love the ladies here. Some real crack ups!

Rio - I'm sure that your awesome, strong personality by far exceeds the yummy mummies. You have had such a hard time of it over the last few months but you've still managed to retain your sense of humor. What is with you mum and aunty not helping you out? Give them a swift kick in the butt!

Blang - how exciting! Stick blasts stick!

Chili - well done for discussing donor eggs with DH. It's a biggie and so glad that DH is open to the idea. I have a friend here whose eggs have aged prematurely due to hypothyroid meds. She found this out early this year and unfortunately was given a very slim chance of pregnancy using her own eggs. Her husband clamped up after this discovery and refused to discuss options - donor embryos. She has not pushed the issue and so is trying to conceive naturally. One part of me really hopes that they get the miracle baby but the other half kind of knows it's very unlikely to happen without donor eggs. She's in her mid 30s so I hope she broaches the subject with him again soon. I am very tempted to refer her to the donor egg boards here. If only to start off reading about people's experiences.

Freckles - welcome. I was very lucky that I had very few side effects with the meds in my 1st cycle but they definitely affect people in different ways.

AFM - second beta result today was 1066. Very happy with that! I have another one next weds (13th) and first scan scheduled for 26 Oct. It's been a big day - I kicked off a project that I've been putting off for ages, then had a job interview and had to wait for my beta result. The interview went well (I think). Should find out shortly whether it's a yay or nay. In terms of how I'm feeling, well, not very pregnant. I've got a bit of a bloated belly and have had a couple of very mild waves of nausea. Not sure whether the nausea is not just in my head though. It all feels a little surreal at the moment. This FET has been so low key compared to my 1st cycle.

Teresa - how are you feeling?

Krys - your big day tomorrow. All the very very best to you.

Well folks, my cat has brought in a baby mouse so I'd better go and see whether it's still in a decent enough state to be rescued. Is suspect not! Pickle the pug has been to doggie daycare and she's snoring like a pig next to me.
