I don't write for 2 days and look at what I miss!!! :  :D

Lou- Glad to hear that the reunion went well...and that you were a good "dodger". Best of luck tomorrow--try to keep that PMA up, up, up!!! This time will hopefully be THE time for your BFN. Try to relax and pamper yourself--you work so hard.

Franny--hope that DH is recovering and that you are doing well.

Teresa--oh, hon. How totally beyond scary. I am so sorry....please take care. I have read women's posts were they have had similar situations and went on to have normal pregnancies, but it must still be difficult and stressful for you. PLEASE let DH and anyone else who offers--to pamper you. Take it easy and know that you are in our prayers.

Chili--take all the time you need to process. You are doing great--and are clearly so strong--I admire you. I hope that your conversation with RE this morning went well and some good plans get set into motion soon.

Brandy--PUPO!!! YAHOO rest up--keep busy--and stay out of crazytown....if you can!

Tess69-Great second beta!!! Wonderful!!! Did the mouse make it? (I'm afraid to ask.) Dogs and pets have been a big topic the last few days...I haven't been able to figure out how to post any pictures. Pickles the Pug! How cute :D I got my DH a pug for our anniversary this year---personally, I think it looks like an alien-life form, but it is quite adorable. We call him "Pig" Pig the Pug. It is exactly what he sounds like. :D

Ester--speaking of pets, Roscoe is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E.

Lauren- I started a thread about DHEA and increasing number of follicles a while back. Seems as though there is some research suggesting it can help, but only if taken months before you cycle. Once you start, you need to rely on your protocol and your RE making necessary adjustments and part of it will just be how your body reacts and there isn't always a lot you can do. Try to take the time to take care of yourself--yoga...acupuncture...exercise....reading...hobbies...whatever it is that helps you feel centered and peaceful. That is my recommendation.

As far as progesterone shots versus suppositories? I have gone to 2 different clinics. The first insisted on the shots, and the second RE told me there was no data to support using shots over suppositories. Who knows?!?! The shots hurt like-a-M--- but if it helps an embie stick it would be worth it right? Suppositories are a mess, but again, well worth the outcome.
And stay out of the suburbs of Crazytown!! You will get sucked into the malls of Crazytown before you know what happens...resist the pull...resist...

Krys-Beta tomorrow---sending lots of Baby Dust and positive energy your way girl!!!

Macfamily--sorry to hear about how you were feeling after retrieval...I hope you aren't hyperstimming...take it easy, drink lots of fluids and stay in contact with RE about ALL of your symptoms. Hope you are feeling better...

Annie--Lupron tomorrow! Alright! Keep up the PMA..it goes a long way! :) Husband a fainter, huh? Mine had a needle phobia, but despite all his whining I made him suffer through doing it. Although if he had actually fainted, that might be an issue. Hm...a real quandary...I personally have only given myself one injection through 3 cycles....but lots of women do. Let us know if he is able to get through it--it is the least he can do I think.

Crystal--sorry about the cyst, but glad it is not causing you to have to cancel! A week delay--is that what you said?--in the big picture not too bad.

Lauren319--GIRL. You have the best PMA, believe it or not. You keep us all rolling and smiling which is exactly what we all need. 8) thanks 8) How on earth do you resist POAS?? Seriously, you must tell me. I get nuts with them... although I use the dollar store ones so I am not spending a small fortune. Still....my DH says I shouldn't trust them since they are made in China...hah...thanks for asking about my wrist...which leads me to...

AFM: OUCH. Really, ouch!!! :( This friggin wrist hurts way worse than I was told it would. Typing this essay tonight here, is killing me. I was told that after surgery I would have to wear a brace for 2 weeks--ironic--2 ww of a different sort!!---he failed to mention that I couldn't lift or carry or put any weight on it for that entire period! It is bandaged up like I am a victim of some horrific injury all the way up to my elbow and I cannot get the bandage wet or take it off for the entire time. It is my left hand, and yes, I am a leftie. Ugh. Showering, getting dressed, typing--all a major problem now. Let's not even get started about driving. My right arm is literally sore from steering. SIgh. Sorry for such a long non-IVF rant, but I was needing to vent.

AF should be showing up Friday...so time to do the AF dance for me! Gotta get this horse and pony show going!! And I will likely still be bandaged up when I start stimming....terrific.

Baby dust and positive energy to all you ladies...welcome to the newbies (Kaylie!)...Sorry if I forgot some folks, but I cannot type another letter.

Amanda1979 - I love your spoon theory. Maybe I'm just an emotional wreck, but it really touched me. I don't have nearly the same experience you do, but I've been diagnosed with both hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia and I can't even begin to explain the fatigue and pain to people. I'm not sure your spoon theory works for me as Lupus has to be a much harder thing to overcome, but I might have to steal it anyway. Stay strong.

Annie - congrats on starting!

Lauren - Have you tried acupuncture?? I've had the same questions about the shots vs. suppositories because I was only on suppositories last time (BFN) and they put me back on them this time, so I don't know...

Teresa - Oh dear! IT CAN TOTALLY STILL BE OK. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. It must be so scary!! I wish there was something I could say or do besides tell you that there's still a really good chance that everything will be ok.

Macfamily - 8 hours?! Why? That's crazy! Are you ok?

Crystal - Oh! I'm so sorry! I'll do an AF dance for you.

Lou - GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!!!! WOOHOO!!! I can't wait to hear!

Krys - I'm so excited to find out about your BFP. Don't leave us hangin'!

Katie - 7 times?! OMG.You almost have your little girl!! How are you feeling? Is everything set up?

Cindy - there's not much you can do. They're just going to get a baseline! Good luck!!

Margi - you were posting at the same time! I'm so sorry you hurt! Perhaps I'll add a "no pain dance" so my AF dance for you. I can't go all out in my 2ww, but I hope you understand. Who said I wasn't POAS? Dude, I'm gonna go crazy with those things. I just trying to wait until the weekend. I actually think it's a good thing for me. If it's a BFN at least it'll soften the blow, right? I also feel like with a BFN there's a sense of normalcy in seeing a positive preg test. I don't know. I'm also insane, so who knows.

Hey there! I know how painful ER is.. last time they got 22 eggs from me, and I was squirming and moaning by the end of it. I'm sorry your agony went beyond that and you ended up in the hospital. What did they do to take care of it? As for your report, I think that's great. Sounds like you will have enough for transfer and perhaps a frozen cycle if needed. Does your clinic do three or five day transfers?
macfamily wrote:Hey everyone-
I can't believe that just by missing a few days on here how out of the loop I am! I had retrieval yesterday- not fun. I ended up in the ER for 8 hours- I felt like I had been drop kicked and was having trouble breathing. My clinic just said, you will have some cramping, take some tylenol. After being at home for 2 hours and being in terrible pain, we called the dr office and they said to go to the ER. After some pain meds I am feeling much better- there was a lot of fluid and some blood that was messing with me internally. Anyway, I got my report a little while ago- out of 12 eggs 9 were mature, and 8 fertilized. I am hoping that this is good news.... I am having a quick checkup with my dr today at noon since I was in the hospital yesterday. What are your thoughts? I hope you are all well!

ugh... that's scary to think the Lupron didn't keep ovulation at bay... did they say why? What will they do next time to make sure you don't again? I'm hoping your cycle comes quickly so you can start again..

I haven't been able to do much reading here for the last couple of days and YIKES look at all that I missed. :-) I'm crazy busy right now with trying to get transcripts out. If I'm not in court all day, I'm working on transcripts all day. Everyone decided to order transcripts all at once. Always how it goes, huh?

Thinking of everyone with all that's going on.

Lou -- today's a big day for you.

Teresa -- praying for your scary situation. I would be out of my mind with that. Take it easy and rest.

I know there are tons I've missed. Hoping things slow down here soon.

AFM -- took last BCP on Sunday. Go in for suppression check on Friday (10/8) No AF as of yet. The IVF nurse told me that most people get AF after stopping BCP but there are some that don't. Did y'all find that you got AF after stopping the BCP? It seems I find stuff to worry over, which I know isn't good. Uggghhhhh

Nancy
Me 39 "normal"
Dh 49 problem with tubes so no sperm "gets out" (basically like a vasectomy)

currently in 1st IVF -- BCP until 10/3, currently on Lupron. Suppression check 10/8. Start stims 10/9.

Sonya, They believe that the initial dose of the lupron caused a "flare" effect resulting in spontaneous ovulation. They believe that my body should now be accustomed to the lupron and will now be suppressed. Let's hope they know what they're talking about, because I'm clueless and completely at their mercy. It's very frustrating. I feel helpless

Lou - hope your FET goes great day! Can't wait to hear from you afterward so we can celebrate your PUPO-ness!!

Krys - wishing you lots of luck today!! Hope you have a great beta to report!

Nancy - the nurse I've been working with said I may or may not get AF after stopping the BCPs, but that it was fine either way. I took my last one Monday and no AF for me, just spotting - like I have been for the last week or so. But good luck at your appointment tomorrow!! Hopefully in a couple days you'll be stimming away, how exciting!!

Margi - I'm so sorry the pain you're having is so terrible! I really hope the wrist starts feeling better soon.

Annie - YAY for starting the Lupron today!! Good luck!!

Sonya & coop - How goes the stimming? How are the follies looking so far at your SnS appointments?

Osi - are you still with us? Are you stimming now?

Annashope - Are you still on tap to start your Lupron on Saturday? Haven't heard from you in a bit so wanted to see if you're still on track to start soon.

AFM, I go tomorrow for my baseline and hopefully get the go ahead to start stimming tomorrow. I have to lug in my big old baby-in-a-box to the appointment so the nurse can review all the meds with me. And I've gotta watch those videos again tonight on how to mix my Bravelle and Menopur injections. DH and I watched them months ago when we were going to do the IUI but I definitely need a refresher. Hope everyone has a great day!
