Hello everyone:
I am new on here and I am glad that a forum like this is available! My story basically goes like this: My partner and I (Susan) have been together for over 5 years. We have been trying to start a family for the past two years. We did artificial insemination with donor sperm for 7 cycles all of which were negative. We started the IVF process last month, we go on Monday for egg retrieval and then later this week for egg transfer! We are very excited and are hopeful for positive results!!!
Thanks everyone for reading all of the stories! It gives me hope to read them!

Lauren - I think that now that you have your BFP we can safely transfer the duties of co-mayor of crazy town to Lou.
Lou - acceptance speech please? You got big shoes to fill after Lauren! You will get your BFP and gladly pass on your duties too!!!
Tess - good to see your new ticker, I have to try and get an early US with my OB since the IVF is a non provider and will charge me too much for an US after the fact. At my OB they don't do US until 10 weeks!!!
Wondercat - has AH gone back to DH?
Krys congrats on your beta!!!
amanda WTF??? That is awful are you ok? Oh I would want to beat the shit out of him! You poor thing.
rebecca - I am so sorry, yes getting bills for a BFN sucks bigt time, take the time you need and then come back for a BFP!
klinger - how is the stimming going?
Ryan - how is your dad and you get the pup today right? You feeling better?
Moorebaby - how are you?

AFM - spent all day Thursday trying to figure out IVF meds, bills. The bill came and it was 11,500 for IVF fresh with ICSI and Assisted HAtching which is not terrible considering their rates are so high and the last RE who was an idiot charged more, sucks to be out of pocket. I am hoping my insurance covers meds which they did by mistake twice ;) so I am hoping they screw up again!!!! Fingers crossed. I am really nervous about this being the last one we can afford and we never have frosites :( I am taking DHEA and hope I get good follies and lots on my baseline. Meanwhile I figure we are going to try the old fashioned way this month ;) very low chances with 10% motility but hey miracles happen and we will have fun trying!!! ;) Got my calendar and meds! Sounds weird I can't wait to get stabbed with those pesky needles!!!

Lou and Kynlee - I had loads of cramping and sore boobies last time around. This time I've had no cramping and my boobs aren't sore either. I'm sure I've got lots of lovely symptoms to come though. I'm not sure whether it depends on the individual pregnancy or not. Any other people had different symptoms with different cycles?

Rio - I ummed and argghed about whether to add the ticker yet or not, and then thought, 'bugger it, why not?'. I really feel for you re your financial difficulties with IVF. DH and I have to fully fund our IVF because of my age ie. over 39 and also because our infertility is unexplained. We've been very lucky that we only had to shell out for one cycle and a FET so far but I can absolutely emphasise with how difficult it must be once finances start to run low.

Back in August I volunteered to join a team at work who are doing the Oxfam Trailwalker next April i.e. 100km walk between 24 and 36 hours. I'm now in the difficult position where I definitely won't be doing the walk if I'm still pregnant. I'll be 7 months by then and certainly don't want to put the baby at risk by doing an endurance event. However, it's too early to tell the team that I'm pregnant + one of the team members is the manager of the team that I've just applied for a job with. Very tricky. So I'm going to tell them at 12 wks i.e. early Dec and hope they can find a new team member. For the time being though, I am going along to the training walks. We're only up to about 2 hours at the moment so it's not too strenuous. I've been for a good two hour plus walk today with one of the team members and our furry muttlies. :D

I got AF this a.m. Is that normal? Last BCP was last Sunday (10/3) I started stims on Saturday (10/9) and this a.m. AF is here. It totally surprised me.

Nancy
Me 39 "normal"
Dh 49 problem with tubes so no sperm "gets out" (basically like a vasectomy)

currently in 1st IVF -- BCP until 10/3, currently on Lupron. Suppression check 10/8. Start stims 10/9.

Good morning everyone! We have a lot going on this week for the ladies on the list. Hoping for good news all around!! :D

Nancy - I think that's normal. When I went for my baseline on Friday, my RE said don't be surprised if I get AF over the weekend since it can happen after stopping the BCPs. Of course shortly after the appointment, AF came a knocking. But if you're not sure, just give your nurse or RE a call.

Carrie - Glad you hear from you again and YAY for going for ER tomorrow! Wishing the best for you & Susan this cycle. Be sure to let us know how it goes.

andrea4 - Wishing you good luck today with your ER! Let us know how it went.

Ester - Good luck at your RE follow-up appointment tomorrow!

Sonya - Any SnS updates for us? Any update on your ER date?

Kaylie (Freckles) - How are your stims going? Are you still on track for ER on Tuesday?

Lauren319 - So have you been continuing to POAS each day? Hoping Tuesday gets here quick for you!

Lauren - Good luck at your baseline appt tomorrow. Keep us posted on your progress!

Ryann - How is Sox doing??? I'm so excited you start your Lupron tomorrow!

Hi All,
Hope everyone's having a nice weekend. The weather's great here in Chi-Town! 80s and sunny! 8) Sorry about being MIA! I had a huge wedding to do this weekend. It had 4 stops with set up. The bride was very disorganized! She had beautiful placecards with no table numbers on them, WTF!!! Oh well, she seemed very happy with the flowers I did. That's all that matters. That was sooo much fun to do right after my BFN and research on egg donors! No stress there!!
Oh, on the IVF thing, I found a few EDs associated with my RE's agency that look good. We are trying to stay with their agency because the cost is alot less and they take care of all the legalities. Now, if the damn nurse would just call me back with their details that would be nice  I just would like to know if they are even available before I get my hopes up. Some of the girls are also with other agencies so they may be cycling with someone else. Why is all this so hard??!!! Oh and my RE said the uterus doesn't age just the ovaries and eggs do. Lovely! Anyway, I'm still about 5 pages behind on this board so I'll do personals when I read everything I missed. Thanks for all of your support.
Love hugs and baby dust to all,
Chili 8)

Hey Girls.... nice to see some pleasant updates. So we are a go for trigger tonight. One more shot. Thank god. I feel like my ovaries are going to explode. The doctor counted tons of follies and then just said we were well into trigger country and stopped counting. He said we'll count when we retrieve them. It seems I have at least 14-15 on each side and I am in constant discomfort from the swelling. I am DREADING egg retrieval. I begged for extra meds this time and was promised such.

It sounds like we'll be doing our ER Tuesday morning and aiming for a five day transfer (no issues last time so we should be good) and I will fly home the day after the transfer.

Teeniest bit of worry... I didn't get my HCG into the fridge for three hours - it was in a cool location. I'm not really concerned but you don't want to chance anything. Suggestions?

Carrie, our stories sound similar. I, too, have been trying to conceive with my partner for the past two years. We've done either ICI's or IUI's 2-3 times per cycle for 8 cycles, with no success. This month is our first IVF cycle and this week will be the retrieval and transfer.

None of my family has ever had trouble conceiving, so I'm chalking my difficulties up to the fact that sperm isn't around in my house as often as it is for straight folks. But, who knows, I am almost 40.

I had 6 maturing follies as of last Friday, taking 75mg Menopur and 150 Follistim twice daily.

I'm throwing my optimism into our fertility cauldron and hoping for the best. Cheers to everyone for their courage.

Hello Ladies,

Lauren-congratulations, that is SO EXCITING!! Whoop Whoop!!!!!

I have started my stimulation meds and am now doing 4 injections a day, Lupron in the AM Menopur in the AM , Lupron and Gonal-F in the PM. I am not feeling very well at all. I feel nauseated all of the time, do the meds have this effect on anyone else?? I have to go to the doc tomorrow AM to see how my hormone levels are doing. Last time I didn't respond to the injections and my hormone levels didn't climb, so I am a little nervous. Hopefully everything is A-OK! I hope that everyone is having a good weekend. It is chilly here in Colorado, great day to snuggle up with a blanket and watch some football!

Anniegirl - Good luck tomorrow at your SnS! Hopefully your follies and hormone levels will be looking good this time. Grow follies grow!! Sorry you're not feeling well. I've been feeling fine while stimming but I'm on different meds than you so probably not a great comparison. Hopefully one of the other ladies with experience with the meds your on will chime in.

Meinemo - Welcome and glad you joined our thread! I hope this cycle will be successful for you & your partner!! Do you have another appointment tomorrow to check your follies? Definitely keep us posted on when your ER is scheduled and how it goes.

Sonya - YAY for ER on Tuesday, it seems like it came so fast!! And WOW you've got a lot of follies cooking in there. I'm glad they agreed to extra meds for ER to combat the discomfort. Hopefully it won't be terribly painful.

Andrea - 8 sounds great, congrats!! Hope you get a great fert report tomorrow!

Chili - great to hear from you! Keep us posted on your progress through the ED process.

kynlee - I'm not sure when is too early after a FET. I'm sure someone else will chime in though. I know I'll POAS when it's my time (more so to soften the blow if it's not good news) but I'll probably try to wait until a day or two before my beta before I do it.

anniegirl- i'm sorry you're not feeling too good. i don't know much about the side effects of those meds, as i'm always on follistim (1 injection/day). i hope tomorrow's re appointment brings you some great news about your levels.

meinemo/carrie- welcome! so sorry about your past cycles being negative. i'm loving your positive attitude & hope that your 1st ivf cycles bring you both bfp's! good luck on your er's...can't wait to hear how many they get & how many fertilize. how many will you be transferring? will you be having a 3dt or 5dt? so exciting!

sonya- 14 to 15 on EACH side...holy crap! that is insane....you're a follie-making machine! no wonder you feel so uncomfortable! good luck on your er...can't wait to see how many they get!

andrea- welcome! 8 is a good #! can't wait to hear what your fert report will be. so will you be doing a 3dt or 5dt?

chili- no table #s...wth??? don't worry, you'll find a good donor soon!

klinger/amanda- thanks! i'll let you all know how it goes. so how goes the stabbing?

tess- i can imagine that doing a walk like that at 7 months pregnant won't be too much fun. until you tell them, please take it easy! cute ticker by the way! can't wait to hear your 3rd beta #.

rio- i'm good...thanks for asking! hoping your insurnace company screws up again! nothing wrong with trying the old-fashioned way....a chance is still a chance. so when are you supposed to start your stims?

kynlee- welcome! congrats on being pupo! cramping could very well be your embabies getting nice & comfy in there for the next 9 months. how many did you transfer? 1 more week...you're halfway there...you can do it!

lou- every woman & every cycle is different. not feeling anything doesn't mean anything bad. i'm praying that this will be the cycle that gives you & dh your miracle that you so both deserve.

krys- that's excellent! i'll be thinking of you on tuesday.

amanda1979- that is awful! i'm so sorry you're having so many bad things happen. hoping things start getting better for you soon! i'm praying for your dh & hope he has some good news on his tests next week.

rebecca- i remember you from the summer cycle thread! how are you? i take a prenatal vitamin, which has the folic acid in it...it's called prenate elite. i hear you about being busy w/ school...we have trimesters & my schedule will change for the 2nd trimetster, as of december 6th. i will be teaching 1st period, which right now, i'm off, so it's easier to stim & not miss class in the morning. this is why the plan is to start in november. but w/ school, it's never a good time, lol!

macfamily- welcome! congrats on being pupo! the trigger shot could very well be out of your system by now. are you planning on poas?

nancy- ugh...how annoying about not having the right syringes & needles! hopefully the oil will do the trick on your bp. i totally know what you mean...i would take an entire 9 months of being sick if it meant i'd be getting a healthy baby. that's why when non-ivf women who are pregnant complain, i just want to scream! good luck on your appointment on wednesday. my uterus is slighly tilted as well...i wonder if i should talk to my re about a stitch.

lauren319- omg!!! how awesome...you're preggo! have you poas this weekend? so happy for you! can't wait to hear your beta results.

karin- stinks about the flu shot. sorry you're in the waiting game right now. it'll all be happening soon!

teresa- oh sweetie, i'm so sorry about all these bleeding episodes. i'm praying that your appointment tomorrow brings you great news. can't wait to hear how many you have in there.

ryann- how are you feeling? hopefully, better. praying for your dad...how's he doing? so how's sox adjusting or should i say how are you adjusting to sox?

wondercat- i'm so sorry about dh's behavior. have you guys talked about it? i hope everything's better!

margi- how is your hand?

brandy- how are you feeling? good luck on your beta this week.

afm...dh & i have an appointment w/ the re tomorrow. i'm feeling hungover...we went out to a dueling pianos bar last night & i had a little too much to drink. oh well, hopefully, i made up for not being able to drink since i plan on being preggo soon!
